I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this little prequel novella so much. Morgan is a junior at college and needs a little more cash. She enjoys matchmaking and decides to start her own business fixing people up on dates. She seems pretty good at it too. But it doesn’t all go according to plan. I honestly loved this so much. I’m always looking for books with college aged characters. I always relate to it a little bit more than the typical ya and adult book. I enjoyed Morgan and Lacey’s banter with each other. I really liked the writing in this as well. Honestly I cannot wait for the next book in the series to see some of the dates and how it all goes.

Such a cute little story. My biggest complaint is I wish it was longer and I got to find out more about Morgan. I know its a prequel so i hope further into the series I get my answers!

If you are looking for a quick read that will leave you smiling as well as full of suspense, this book is for you!

This was such a cute start to a new series! I love the idea behind this story. The characters were so funny and relatable. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here. This one was a little short, but it is a prequel so I was kind of expecting it to be on the shorter side.

I LOVE IT!!! this story is just so fresh and adorable! just what i needed at the moment! i hope Morgan and Declan get their happy ending, after A LOT of groveling on his part of course!!! They are so funny!

Ps: but I do think is judgmental and rash, even if she doesn't realize it!

4.5 stars!

Morgan has had great luck setting people up in the past--she definitely has a knack for matchmaking. But college is expensive, and despite her busy class schedule and part-time work at the local coffee shop, she is unable to pay for car maintenance and other surprise expenses that pop up. Her matchmaking skills will hopefully provide a steady income stream that will allow her to rest a little easier in the form of The Date Maker.

The Date Maker is an extremely customized service, involving a lot of research and personalization. And while it's a bit expensive, people at their exclusive college can definitely afford it. In order to attract clients, Morgan runs a contest for a $100 gift card to the coffee shop where she works. Additionally, she runs a promotional price. And suddenly, Morgan has about 50 clients, twice as many women as men--it's a lot of work, but she's putting in the hours and getting things done. That is, until someone name Declan tells her he doesn't need to pay to get laid, and she'd be prettier if she smiled more.

Suddenly, Morgan is thinking about her own life, and with more than a passing attraction to her client, she will have to make some tough choices on the business front AND on the personal front.

Kayla Tirrell does a great job of making this book a fun, flirty and believable story. The characters (save one) are pretty likable, and there are no plot holes that other new adult/ya might sometimes fall into during the course of the story. Without spoiling anything, I can honestly say that I'm excited to read the next book in the series (it releases date later this month).

This is a sweet, fun introduction to a series that is sure to stick with you for a while.

I received an ARC of this prequel for my honest review. I can't praise this light, entertaining, and quick read enough. I was hooked immediately and went over my lunch break in order to keep reading. The main character Morgan is a college junior who works part time in a coffee shop and moonlights as a match/date maker to try and make ends meet. I was very drawn to this character as I could see myself being friends with her and also allowing her to set me up on a date. I fell in love with the male character Declan and I absolutely can't wait to see how the sparks between he and Morgan ignite. You know it's a good read when you get so invested in the story that you turn a 30 minute lunch into a 45 minute lunch just to try and finish it. I was sad that the prequel ended so soon and it definitely leaves me wanting more. Can't wait to read the rest!! Thank you Kayla Tirrell for this teaser into what is sure to be a great remaining book/series!!

Oh my goodness! I want to know what happens next!

This was a quick prequel to the Disastrous Dates, yet already readers are bound to fall in love with its characters. Morgan has set up her own business, the Date Maker, where she makes matches in the hope that the matched couple start down the path of falling in love. I really enjoyed reading about her character and her motivations. She even learns things about herself and her situation, and how her preconceived notions despite first encounters might not always add up. I like where this series is headed, and it seems as though it's saying that you can't predict love lol in all cases and you might just find it in the most unexpected situation.

Can't wait for the next installment.

This was a great prequel for the Disastrous Dates series! Morgan Is a college student who loves setting people up and figures she can make some money off of it along the way since her part time job isn’t cutting it. She creates The Date Maker in hopes of helping people who signed up to find their perfect matches and fall in love. Even though not all of her matches were made for each other and ended in disastrous ways, many still found theirs. Morgan is the type of person who cares more about making other people happy and Declan makes her think about things that she normally wouldn’t. They had a sweet and funny relationship and I hope it turns into something more. I loved the characters, how realistic they were, and that they’re capable of change and growth. This was a short, sweet, and funny read that I really enjoyed!

I received this book for an honest review. This book was such a cute and super quick read. I read this book in just a couple hours. I felt it was a bit too short for me but it was only a prequel.
I definitely want more though. The ending was a cliffhanger and I want to know how the dates are going to go. I think Morgan is a really relatable and cute character. I am excited to see what happens with her and Lacey in the next book! These two had great chemistry with each other and the other characters in this book. I am so curious to see how the dates go and if Morgan maybe ends up with someone through her Date Maker business.

I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

First off, I just want to mention how awesome it is that the protagonist isn't a high schooler. Morgan is a college student and I don't know about you but I prefer my YA-protagonists to be older than the dime-a-dozen 16-year-olds (which is mainly the only age I find in books nowadays...). She's intelligent, likeable and like all other college students, stressed with school and money problems (probably the most relatable part of the book lol :)

This prequel is sweet and funny and has the right amount of disaster without it being overwhelming! It's a quick read, with it being a novella and all, but keeps you entertained and eager to figure out what will happen to Morgan next.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun summer read!

This was such a good start to this series. I love Morgan and her ideas to start this dating service. She is funny and relatable and I love the characters we meet in this novella. I'm curious to see where this goes and the situations these characters get themselves into. Kayla did it again!

The Date Marker is short fun read, it's about a girl who has a knack for setting people up and tries to make some extra cash. Morgan was a lot of fun to read about it. I seriously can't wait for the next book, the ending of this one left me wanting more!

This was a fun, quick read! I found myself cracking up out loud (my kids probably think I’m crazy but oh well) during a few of the scenes and admittedly joining the main character in my prejudging of boys only to get schooled. Whoops! I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next one.

I like that the author warned it would be an excerpt -less than a novella or a book. That way the reader had a clear view of what they were getting when they started the story. It was a really cute start to what I imagine is a good series.

What a great little prequel! Morgan, a girl trying to make ends meet at a private university, sets up matchmaking servixe at her university. She figured she could do something she is good at and make a little extra cash. But it all goes awry when she meets guy who is too confident for this world, and she let's her feelings get in the way.

Sweet, but short...leaves you wanting more

This was an intriguing story, but ends on a cliffhanger.

Fortunately there are two others already published so I can binge and get the rest of the story.

Morgan finds herself needing to make a few bucks to pay for maintenance on her hooptey, so with a little ingenuity she turns her passion of matchmaking into a business. Only it’s not raking in the clients and therefore the moolah as quickly as she hoped. So she decides to run a discounted enrollment as well as a gift card giveaway. That does the trick, but now she has to juggle the added work to her already full schedule. Add in a few mistakes, a scathing blog about her business, and a rush recovery, it all equals a whole lot of fun.

Book Review: The Date Maker: A Disastrous Dates Prequel
Author: Kayla Tirrell
FOUR STARS
This is a short very quick clean read. There are a couple areas of grammatical issues but over all a good read.
This ends in a cliff hanger and you dont know what the next step is going to be unless you have read Meet Your Match.
Morgan is trying to work her way through college and when her job at a coffee shop just isn't making ends meet, she decides to try her hand at match making.
The Date Maker is the name of her business and she is in a fix right now as it seems she has delivered the wrong profiles to the wrong matches.
This ends as she discovers her mistake. But what becomes of Declan?
This definatly leaves you wanting to know more.

This was such a cute story! A prequel to the Disastrous Dates series, The Date Maker is the story of the highly relatable Morgan and her fledgling matchmaking service. No more need to swipe right! Get the personal touch instead. This was a fun quick read that draws you in and hypes you up to read the full length novels coming soon. It’s such a fresh take on New Adult contemporary and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

I received a copy of this book for my honest review.

I was given ARC! What a book series!! I love every minute of these books and couldn’t put the books down! Morgan Jones is such a likeable character that sets everyone else up on dates with her date maker but hasn’t thought about who would be her perfect date? Some of the dates are disastrous but most couples find there perfect matches! Even the ones that Morgan thinks are not worth setting up! Please read this series and I promise you’ll not be disappointed

The Date Maker (Disastrous Dates #1) was a great read by Kayla Tirrell. Morgan has been very good at setting people up for dates. She started a dating service for local college students called The Date Maker. Everything seems to go great until Declan Adams gets her worked up. It seems as though everything is going wrong. I loved reading Morgan's story and can't wait to read the rest of this series.

Another fun book by Kayla Tirrell!

Morgan is a college junior in need of a bit more money. She decides to put her matchmaking skills to the test as the Date Maker.

I loved all of the characters so much! I knew/hoped right away that Morgan and Declan would end up together!

I also love the style of this book. The different sections focusing on each character. It was so fun!

I loved it! I loved Morgan & Declan, Kimberly & Derrik, Lacey & Conrad & all of SFU. This was a very cute story about Morgan trying to set up everybody on Campus with their true love! Disastrous Dates happen & make the whole story more complicated but, fun! I can only recommend the book if you enjoy having a big grin on your face when you finish reading.

We meet Morgan and her idea of being a matchmaker/date maker. She does it to get some extra income and with her history of matchmaking she thinks it will be easy money. Unfortunately, a quick meet up with Declan Adams starts a snow ball of bad luck for the matchmaker's hope.

Clearly a prequel

This is about the start of the dating service and how a good idea went wrong. Hence the series Disastrous Dates. Looks like it could be an interesting series.
