I love the concept of this book. It was a really nice reading!

Such a well put together book that introduced me to a lot of butterfly species that I hadn't ever heard of before. The pages are thick and have a cutout of the butterfly at the top, so it's easy to turn the pages without worrying that you might have accidentally skipped over something. The illustrations are also beautiful. I think there were some inaccuracies in the depictions of the red spotted purple and the pipevine swallowtail, though. The red spotted purple illustration didn't really resemble the real thing, in my opinion. It was too dull in color. In real life, the red spotted purple is very vibrant and looks especially blue in pigment. The pipevine swallowtail's forewings were a little too light in my opinion. I feel like the blue could've been way darker. Other than that, I loved this book. There weren't too many species from North America, but that is to be expected when the book was printed in the UK. Of course, these critics aren't a big deal, and at the end of it all, I'm just being a little nitpicky. I'd definitely recommend it to any butterfly lover like me!
