She's determined to do something positive with her life, and she doesn't want to use her body to get what she wants. On the road to attaining her goals, the young, strong-willed butterfly has overcame every obstacle that was placed in her path, except one, her abusive mother, DOT. Dot would've been better off had she been born infertile. The way she treats her daughter is nothing short of trifling. Kaymee's will is unbreakable. With the help of her two best friends, POETRY and MONTY, she leaves her mother's home ready to take on the world, but the world can be a bitter, cold place. In the midst of madness, DRAY appears like a the fairy-tale lover Kaymee has always needed to help heal her wounds. Can Dray do the impossible and show her that LOVE SHOULDN'T HURT? Or is Kaymee too damaged to repair? One thing's for certain, Dot stops at nothing to see Kaymee down and out, and dragged through the mud. Ultimately, who will have the last laugh, mother or daughter?

Heartbroken

Love Shouldn’t Hurt: Breaking the Chain by Meesha is a good and painful read. This author does a good job. It’s well written and it’s phenomenal page.

Love and hate will allow you to do something stupid. Dot is a ignorant and disrespectful person. She could’ve step up to become a better mom to Kaymee but she keeps show her hateful feelings toward to Kaymee. Jonathan is the reason why Dot’s acting the way. He should give more details about what’s happening between him and Dot to Kaymee. My heart goes to Kaymee.

I’m looking forward to read part 2 of this book.

Good read:

This was a pretty good book... It moved at a steady pace... It did have some hiccups when it came to the time line of things... So it was a little bit of a distraction trying to figure that out... But I still enjoyed the storyline...
I really liked Kaymee... I just really hated what she had to go through with her mother Dot... Her mother should have been proud of Kaymee for all that she accomplished on her own... Not only that but she was independent and just an overall good child... I was glad that she had Poetry and Monty on her side and in her corner... I do not think that Kaymee would have made it if it was not for the....
Every time that I didn't think that Kaymee's mom Dot could do her any worse... Man did she prove me wrong... This woman had me so mad I wanted to smack her around myself and knock some sense into her... She sis not even realize what a wonderful daughter she had... Yet she was taking all her anger for Kaymee's dad out on Kaymee... Why was she having to lay the process for Dot's decision to get pregnant and have her child... Ugg see I keep getting mad just thinking about how she did poor Kaymee...
I am glad that Kaymee had a good head on her shoulders and was smart to save some money for herself and make sure she got a food education... Because we all know that she could not depend o her jealous mother...
Then Kaymee finally gives a man the time of day... He happens to be Monty's good friend Dray... He seems to be the best thing for her... He has done everything he could to make sure he keeps a smile on her face... Finally when things are starting to look good for Kaymee... Here comes her mother really showing out this time...
OMG... wait a miute... Whay just happened... Is Kaymee going to be okay... Well I guess I will find out in part 2...

Wow

Ok Dot need her butt whipped. I do have just one small issue I notice how Johnathan and her had a sit down and he came clean abt everything well almost everything. If he wanted to be 100% honest why didn’t he just say babygirl in the beginning I didn’t want u and I told ur mama to abort u and I hauled ass out of town then had a change of heart when u made 4. He came in like the hero when he played a part that led to Dot becoming so vengeful. Even though she should’ve STILL loved her daughter instead of trying to hurt her bcuz a man walked out their life. It didn’t really need a part 2 but hey I’ll be waiting for it.

My heart can’t take it!!!

I don’t know how many times I prayed reading this book! I think the only name I didn’t give Dot was a child of God! How could a mother treat her child like that? Sometimes I wish I had Kaymee’s strength!! She didn’t allow her environment to determine her destiny! I loved the way Monty and Poetry, even her parents, looked out for her. She literally had no one other than them to celebrate her accomplishments. I salute Dray! I could only hope he will do good by her because she truly deserves it. Dot trifling behind just wouldn’t stop! I pray Jonathan and Kaymee make it because she needs to be thrown UNDER the jail!!

Wow I’m at a loss for words this is one of those stories where your emotions takes over and you laugh and cry while reading it. Love Kaymee and her friends she is a strong young lady that has went through hell but still managed to somehow keep it together. Dot I want her casket sharp. That ending you got me and I know you are not going to let Kaymee and Jonathan die. Awesome story and I can’t wait to read part 2. Great job my Meesha.

This is a very detailed book of the so called love that every child experiences who is raised by an abusive parent,or an individual who is in a abusive relationship as to where the partner feels as though what he or she say is more important than the individual.

Loved it ! Very drawing and makes you not want to out it down..keeps your mind wondering as to what's going to happen next..

Powerful book!

Wow that things that Kaymee dealt with living with her so called mother Dot was unbearable to read at times. I can’t believe she hated her so much. I can’t stand Dot. I love the way that she has friends like Monty and Poetry to help her keep her head up at times. I love how Poetry’s mother took in as her own knowing what she dealt with at home. I can’t wait to read part 2.

I hope Kaymee is alright and I can't wait for Monty, Poetry, Drayton and the Goon Squad to get a hold of Dot and torture her can't wait for part two. Keep up the awesome work.

This was hot, I've been reading everything you've put out Meesha and this right here was amazing. To go in and out, not knowing what's to follow. Amazing. But Dot has reached in my inner core and I just want to reach out and slap her three ways to Sunday. She had me on 10! I can't wait for part 2. Come-on on with it Meesha.

Phenomenal

OMG..... This book had me on the edge of my seat. Fantastic read. No matter how bad her mom treated her she never lost her focus striving to be the best she can be. Her mom was slowly breaking her down. So happy she had friends that lived her dearly and always have her back. Fantastic to read part 2

Dot was a horrible human being for the way she treated Kaymee. I thought Kaymee raised herself well. Storyline held my attention throughout as my heart went out to Kaymee and what she went through. Poetry, Monty and Dray were the best friends she could ask for. Just when things were looking better, Dot once again showed up...Looking forward to next part

Wow! This book was 🔥🔥🔥. Kayme was abused beyond belief I couldn't believe a mother could be so cold toward her child. I cant wait to read part 2 to find out how the plot thickens and how Kayme's life turns around. I can wait until her momma Dot gets some karma for all the things she's done to her child.
