Will they survive the rising... The Sight. The Shield. The Sword. The Brothers...will they be enough to bring down a Titan rule? Cora and Darrien are on a mission to get their siblings back. Devastated by the thought of what Bree and Tyde are facing, they take on the job of finding a way to end Oceanus and his plans to release the Titans. Their journey will lead them into the depths of Tartarus for the answers. But, Oceanus has his own plans and soon they find themselves face to face with a choice that will tear their hearts apart. Will they survive Oceanus's plot to release the Titans? Or will they become unwilling pawns in his grand scheme? Bree and Tyde have been kidnapped by Oceanus. Both with their own stories to tell of their time in Oceanus's lair, the two of them struggle to survive. Friendships will be forged in the most unlikely characters and powers, locked away from them, will break free. But, will that be enough to get out alive? Ana and Avery are left at Camp Crystal to watch over those with new powers and help them hone their skills. When Oceanus sets his sights on camp, they, along with Lena and Tinley, must defend their new home. Will their ragtag group be enough to stop Oceanus's forces from killing them all, or have they fallen into a trap they can't get out of? While their survival is uncertain, there is one thing that is for sure...there is a war coming. Only the very strongest will survive the rising. In this last instalment of the Water Series, readers will be taken on a rollercoaster like nothing before. Love, friendship, sacrifice, action, humor, mystery...it's got it all. Things I firmly believe in:

1. Nothing is more delicious than a vanilla iced cap in the morning.

2. Reading romance is not a commentary on your marriage, but a safe way of experiencing a sex life that you couldn't have safely in your single days.

3. TikTok might be the death of me...or my phone, depending on how long I'm on the can without my charger.

4. My children are my joy and continue to teach me more about the world and myself than I ever thought possible.

5. Being a parent is freaking exhausting.

6. Communication is the most important thing in any relationship. Without it...not good. Just ask my amazeballs, romantic, hottie of a hubby. Love you, babe!

7. If you've made it this far, we are now friends. Come over to Facebook to inform me of our bestie status! I mean that!

8. Eight already? Bestie, did you tell me we're friends, yet?

9. I will say "yes" to going to Chapters any day.

1⭐

DNF at 65%, which I usually don't rate, but seeing as I practically read the entire s* show of a series, I feel more than justified.
I cannot, in good conscience, keep doing this to myself.

YA or NA mermaid fantasy (undecided)
Multi pov
Inspired by Greek mythology
Mer vs Siren ongoing war
Plus the final boss, a Titan
Half siren, half mermaid mcs
Demigods
Animal companion (hippocampus)
Token lesbians
Welcome to the dark side
Attempted SA
Clunky writing, needs a lot of editing
Repetition of ideas
Overly dramatic
Written in 1st person, past tense

This one goes dark all of a sudden, which is like a slap to the shocked readers' faces. In terms of contrast, if it wasn't for the same old bad writing, you'd say someone else wrote the book, seeing as what happened in previous books wasn't as concerning and all the characters are so childish & reactive.

Quotes that show how unlikeable everyone is:

BREAKING NEWS: HUGGING PEOPLE IS NOW CHEATING
“Avery!” a girl with raven black hair ran at Avery and launched into his arms. I could feel my pulse in my face as Avery hugged the girl back.
“Aurelia! Thank the gods!” he gushed, grasping her face and smiling big.
“Umm,” I said as I tapped him on the shoulder.
“Cora?” Aurelia asked as she turned to me.
“Actually, Lia, this is Ana. Cora’s sister,” Avery announced and took my hand. I smiled triumphantly. “Ana, this is Aurelia. My sister,” he said with a smile as he squeezed my hand. I blushed, knowing that he had seen the jealous side of me slip out.

LOCAL BOY DOESN'T KNOW WHEN TO QUIT THE PROTECTIVE ACT
I moved in front of Bree to protect her, flames flashing to life across my arms. Bree placed a hand on my shoulder and ran around me.
“Meg!” she shouted and sprung into the creature’s arms.
“Are you okay? What happened?” she asked, assessing Bree and pulling her clothes over her as she did.
“What’s going on? Who are you?” I demanded. Running up beside Bree.
“Who are you?” She asked and placed herself in front of Bree. I reached out and pulled Bree from behind her.

The spelling errors thoughout this book are a lot better than the previous ones. Personally, a lot of the plot kind of bothered me in this last book. Read on for spoilers.

I feel like everyone ended up dying just to become a god or have better powers. I'm not quite sure why this bothered me, but it did. Another issue I had with it is that Zeus just gave everyone god powers. If Zeus can do that, what is stopping the Tritons from doing that? Shouldn't they just make more Tritions? And why would Zeus automatically just give the friends god abilities? I think it would have been more believable to have Cora ask if they could be the new gods and then have to prove they deserve it.
All in all, I don't think that this was that great of a book. I will not reread this one, and I honestly don't think I will reread the rest of them again. That said, I could see how some people would enjoy this book and the ending to the series. However, I personally was thinking it was going to end differently and would have rather had a different ending. The main story idea until this book was wonderful though. I am glad I read it.

What an AWESOME ending to an EPIC story! I honestly am at a total loss for words to describe exactly how I feel after having finished this book. I shed tears of sadness, and of happiness filled of joy. There was so much happening and so much kickass action good lord my heart almost couldn’t handle everything that was thrown at me while reading! It was so GOOD! By far this last book was the BEST! I couldn’t stop reading once I started. I was cheering on all the beloved main characters. I am so happy at how the story ended. I actually want to post spoilers which I never normally do... that’s a first for me. Which goes to show how much this story has made an impact on me. Highly recommend this series as a must must read! It has EVERYTHING that makes a story worth reading and more. Author Emory Gayle you are an amazing writer! I really enjoyed reading every moment of this.

Fantastic finish

This is a fantastic finish to an imaginative story. Plot twists, romance, and a conclusion that isn't to be missed.
Think you know what's going to happen in the fourth book? I can tell you right now that you are completely wrong. The suprises keep coming and keep you invested till the very end. I suggest not starting this before bed time as you may not get any sleep until the conclusion.
The author does a fantastic job making sure all of the characters get a voice and each POV(4) sounds individual and like that character.
A must read series for fans of mermaids, mythology, and fantastically written dual(or 4) POV's.

Lots of action....

I thought the other books were serious and filled with sidelines and backdrops, but this one is truly the best. It is cramped with action, adventure, love, loss and unbelievable characters. Cora, Bree, Darrien, Tyde, Avery And and the rest of their friends must battle the titans. Who would have thought these people were greater than gods?

I have finished the series, and would read it again. It can be frustrating at times, but is very good. Sometimes there is too much diversity, too much action, but in the end, it all makes sense. Zeus and his gods should fear this new group. They are remarkable.

Read on my friends.

3.5 stars of awesome finless mermaids

Seriously one heck of an ending, I overall really enjoyed this series. A little bit sad it's over, I will miss all the characters. Darrien and Cora the most. I enjoyed seeing the growth they showed throughout the series.
The action, angst and power this final installment brought was everything I wanted. I'm bummed a touch by all the typos in this book, I tried to ignore them but, they were distracting that aside this story was a great read.

Oh my goodness, this book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. It's so full of action, everyone has their own story line and all three sisters as well as Darrien and Tyde get their stories told from their own points of view, so there is a lot of jumping around but it's never convoluted and always easy to understand what's going on and with whom.

Evil vs. Good show down. I thought this book was one of the best out of the series. I had surprises of things that went on, a betrayal, love, hate all poured from the pages in one epic story. I laughed, got angry and all around fell deep within the pages. Awesome just rolls off this story.

Good and evil

I chose this rating because after reading the entire series, I was a bit disappointed in the story. I felt there was a bit more than necessary of the good and evil events. It was almost repeating itself with different scenario s. The end of the story was obvious.
