The conclusion to this trilogy was fantastic. I really enjoyed the whole series but this book, well it topped it off nicely. Jeremy Heston certainly did play his character well

The perfect ending to a great series. As Jeremy (and anyone who has studied psychology) knows, all experiments need replication in order to prove/disprove a theory. He sets out to do this and...well you’ll just have to read the book. Jeremy denies (to himself, of course) that he is bipolar, and most people would agree. I, however, disagree. I agree that he was not, and is not, insane and that he should have gone to prison rather than a psychiatric hospital. He did plan down to the last detail the massacre at his workplace. According to the M’Naghten rule, “...every man is presumed to be sane, and...that to establish a defense on the ground of insanity, it must be clearly proved that, at the time of the committing of the act, the party accused was laboring under such a defect of reason, from disease of the mind, as to know the nature and quality of the act he was doing; or if he did know it, that he did not know he was doing what was wrong”. But that doesn’t mean he’s not bipolar.

Why do I believe Jeremy is bipolar? I’m not a psychiatrist/psychologist; however, I have a degree in psychology and experience with bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is defined as “a mental disorder that causes periods of depression and periods of abnormally elevated mood. The elevated mood is significant and is known as mania or hypomania, depending on its severity, or whether symptoms of psychosis are present. During mania, an individual behaves or feels abnormally energetic, happy, or irritable. Individuals often make poorly thought out decisions with little regard to the consequences. The need for sleep is usually reduced during manic phases. During periods of depression, there may be crying, a negative outlook on life, and poor eye contact with others”. If you think back to the first book, Jeremy gambled a lot, had troublesome relationships, drank a lot, and performed the ticket scam on his work computer, among other things. Believe me when I say that’s not the behavior of someone in their right mind.

Why do I bring all this up? Because I believe in the premise of the books (or at least what I believe to be the premise): the link between mental health and guns needs a brighter spotlight. Now, I’m not saying just because one has bipolar disorder he/she is going to commit a mass murder. In fact, I believe people with bipolar disorder get a bad name in this regard. What I’m saying is we need stricter gun control laws in this country so these types of situations diminish. I believe the author has made a good case for this throughout this series and I applaud him for that.

This is the final book in the Insanity trilogy, and definitely rounds it off well. I liked the way that all the threads were tied off but in a way that enhanced the story, unlike some stories I've read. Whilst the conclusion of the story felt a little abrupt, it didn't affect my enjoyment of the book at all, and so didn't reduce my star rating. I'd definitely recommend this book - and the whole series! - to anyone who likes their stories with a bit of psychological suspense, or are just looking for something a bit different to read. You do need to read the series in order, but it's certainly no hardship, as it's an excellent set of books. I'm just sad it's ended, and hope the author writes something just as awesome soon!
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

The 3rd book to the series. Andre Gonzalez great book!!! It had the perfect twist to it, Jeremy sure took us on a ride from prison to the mental hospital. I also read the prequel book "Erased".
The book's should be read in order, so you can follow Jeremy.
Congrats again Andre, and I recommend this series to my friend's.

Let me start by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed this series despite a few things I found issue with concerning Jeremy and his diagnosis. I'm fixing to read Erased (The Prequel) and his journal, both of which I'm sure I'll equally enjoy. You are an excellent writer and created a story that was woven with intrigue, suspense, darkness and tried to shed light on a subject that doesn't receive nearly enough attention as it should...Mental Illness. I know that you are a survivor of a horrific event, but when mass shootings happen everyone is quick to assume Bipolar as a reason, sometimes there is a psychotic break of some sorts or the person is just a psychopath with no real connection to anything remotely considered human emotion or feelings for others. True, some sort of mental illness or mental infirmity may be at play, but a lot of people are so quick to assume Bipolar, which I find offensive because I, myself, have Bipolar 1 (Rapid Cycling/I cycle rapidly/frequently between mania & depression) along with Borderline Personality Disorder. Most with BD do things that harm themselves during manic episodes, we make poor judgement decisions, but I haven't known anyone who just "snaps" and then harms others physically.
Again, I found the books to be awesome! You told a story that kept wanting to know more & that kept my attention. I will continue to read your books! Thanks for being another writer that I can to my list to look out for!

"Replicate" is an expertly crafted conclusion to an intense and thought-provoking series. Jeremy Heston has horrified readers by murdering his co-workers in cold blood. He has frustrated readers beyond belief by thwarting the legal system and being placed in a mental institution. Now, he is plotting his escape and intends to display his mental prowess to the world in the form of a book. I got shivers every time I read his inner thoughts.

The truth is that people can easily convince themselves of whatever they really want to believe. "Signs," "fate," "destiny," are, in many cases, innocuous physical features of our world that are simply noted or pointed out by someone who wants them to be meaningful. Jeremy Heston, so desperate to confirm that he is not bipolar, that he is not a ruthless murderer, that he is a good man with redeeming qualities, and so he notices the things in his world that provide him with that confirmation. One of the most frightening parts of this book is how clear it is to the reader that this is a violently unstable individual.

A sane man, for example, would never look at a gun and think, "Great Scott, this is proof that I need to go and kill that person who cut me off on the road this morning!" People will rationalize what they want to do in order to convince themselves that they should bear no guilt for doing it. Anyone who threatens this delusion can find themselves in tremendous danger.

With Jeremy, he convinced himself that he was destined for great things, that he could make a profound impact on the world. Instead of working, he rationalized that a sensational act - such as a mass murder - would be the best route. Throughout the trial for his crime, he rationalized acting like a crazy person because it allowed him the best opportunity to get the verdict he wanted. In this finale, Heston rationalizes escaping from the mental institution and committing a further crime - replicating his study. It is so horrifying, so pseudo-logical that an uneducated or naive or half-thinking individual may actually find themselves in agreement with Jeremy's plan! That certainly seems to be the case with Damon, at any rate.

Mental health issues are incredibly complex and should be treated with professionalism and careful consideration. I don't think that people with mental health issues should be treated with kit gloves, nor should they be immediately villainized and treated like animals. Asylums used to be horror factories, with people suffering within their own heads made to suffer over their entire bodies. Beatings, starvation, being hosed down, electro-shock thereapy - these are real things that happened to real people on a regular basis. We have come a long way from that era, but there is certainly a great deal more progress to be made.

I felt that the Insanity series has brought a lot of attention and consideration to the mental health field. The complexities of mental health were so thoroughly addressed throughout the three books, and made so accessible to every reader. I appreciate Gonzalez's writing style so very much, and am excited to read his other works!

This series has been ripped from the headlines. asking whether mass shooters are murderers or mentally ill. After Jeremy and his legal team successfully get a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity, Jeremy is moved to a mental institution to remain in custody until such a time as he is judged able to return to society. Locked up away from all family and without any friends, Jeremy tries to follow the directions of the institute's director to gain promotion away from his padded room and straight jacket. Learning how to manipulate the system, Jeremy begins to dream and scheme on how he is going to escape.
What makes this story so poignant is its relevancy to the problems we see in our society today. Are mass shooters just evil, or are they truly insane. Jeremy swears that what he has done was an attempt to change the judicial system and society's views on mental health. So, is he really insane?

I received an ARC of this ebook. I submit this review because this ebook and the entire series are AWESOME!!

"A beautiful day for making history."
Was Jeremy Heston really insane? The jurors at his trial had found him not guilty by reason of insanity, and now, here he was, in a straitjacket, on the top security floor of Rocky Mountain Mental Hea!th Institute, diagnosed as bipolar. Certainly his plan to deliberately murder his co-workers, pray that by some miracle he'd be sent to a mental hospital so he could one day escape to write a book about it seemed crazy enough. But was he really just a mentally unhinged terrorist, as many seemed to think, able to get away with the slaughter because of lax gun laws?

The final book of the Insanity trilogy brings this intriguing series to a satisfying and thought provoking conclusion. The best of the three, the book is simply written with Jeremy, himself, having to face, and question, his decisions.
An exciting read.

Replicate by Andre Gonzalez

Book Three in the Insanity Series by Andre Gonzalez did not disappoint. After finishing Book Two, The Burden, I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen to Jeremy. Wow! Definitely not what I expected.
I love the way Mr. Gonzalez writes. He tells you just enough to keep you interested and wanting for more. He makes you question why. Why different characters are behaving the way they are. Why did Jeremy truly do all that he did? What really were his reasons? I did not get the answers I wanted but I did get a great story.
If you have not read this series or anything by this author I highly recommend that you do so. You will not be disappointed in any way.

This book pick up with Jeremy going to the mental hospital for getting his insane defense won. He realizes he left one prison for another.

Jeremy is visited by a few people from his past that really get his mind in an uproar. Things are moving so fast. He gets shot in the shoulder in his room, yet the person who shot him is a mystery.

Jeremy befriends another patient and he comes to find out his new friend is smarter than he first thought.

I can’t say more without spoiling the book, suffice it to say this is a great end to Jeremy’s story!

A satisfying conclusion to Andre Gonzalaez's Insanity trilogy, which focuses on a young man who goes on a mass killing spree to bring more awareness about mental health to the country. I will admit some discomfort at reading from the POV of the mass shooter as he is checked into an institution and plots his escape, but Mr. Gonzalez handles it well. A fascinating book with a unique perspective, Replicate is an engrossing, taut story that successfully wraps up the Jeremy Heston saga by having us consider the mental well-being of the country.

Rarely do I find a book that grabs my attention from page 1 and when I do I'm often disappointed in the outcome. Not so with "Replicate". This book grabbed me and held on until the last page. Yes, mental health is a very serious subject that needs to be treated with respect. I don't really believe this is the end of Jeremy Heston. I almost feel as if there's more background to be told and more of Jeremy's mind we need to delve into. Great book!!!

Jeremy's Second Round

This completes the Insanity trilogy. Jeremy is sentenced to Colorado's prison for those found criminally insane as an alternative to life in prison or the death penalty. His story takes a strange twist when with the help of another inmate he escapes and makes his way back to Denver, hunted by the law. As suggested by the title Replicate he plans a another mass shooting. Will he succeed with the law hot on his trail?

A fitting end to an excellent series! There were a few surprises that I wasn't expecting which was nice. Jeremy's inner thoughts in this final book were especially chilling because it was much more a dialogue than in previous books. I am sad to see the series at its end but am looking forward to reading more by this author!

The way it ended was not exactly how I expected, but I enjoyed the twists. I do still think that the main character is denying his mental illness and wish he had gotten more help with it. The author did a good job of bringing about current topics and discussing them in important ways in his novels.

This is book 3 of The Insanity Series.
Jeremy Heston has now been sent to an institution for the mentally insane. The action picks up, and a lot of things aren't what they are supposed to be.
I enjoyed book 3 the best...I think it was because I enjoy who-done-it books. Jeremy really has his work cut out for him in this place.
This series gets a good recommendation from me.

The best book of the series.
The conclusion was wrapped up nicely.
More revelations and the twisted minds that brought Jeremy to not only his fate but the fate of those he killed.
Great minds or disturbed minds?

Great ending to the trilogy. The best is saved for the last and the author built up the suspense throughout all three books. The books delivered suspense and a look into the mind of mentally ill people, and an even more frightening look at those who can manipulate them. I know it must be a hard series for Andre to write, but he did an exceptional job. I was a teacher at a school that was near the 2012 theater shooting in Aurora and had many students who were in the theater that night. I watched students deal with it in many ways, and this book is a magnificent result. The book took a turn that was so unexpected that I was floored. The ease with which people are predictable and manipulated gives the story a scary ending. This young author is worth watching, and money spent on the books is a great investment in storytelling.
