I’m not sure about this series anymore. The writing style is kind of off for me. I think it’s the flow, it’s not jiving with my personality.

I quickly went into the second book, wondering how Ophelia and Kain’s relationship will progress.

Well, it’s like the first book and now Ophelia is with Ryker. I don’t really have a connection with him, so it was hard to jump into THAT storyline. Also Ophelia’s POV was non existent so it was hard to follow her at times.

There’s also Ginger, Ophelia’s care taker, and she was hard to follow to since she was a new character.

At the end of the day, I think the author has trouble in building up new characters. I honestly only wanted to read about Kian and Ophelia and their interaction was only about 30% in the book.

Not sure how the next book will go, but I basically skimmed most of this one. I’m going to take a break for now.

This is book 2 in a trilogy and it follows a free prequel which must be read in exact order so you can understand and follow the story. Now that Kain has his girl back, he pushes her way beyond her limits and turns to Ryker to try to save her. Book 2 has the reader taken on a boundary pushing journey. We have 2 brothers fighting for the love of one woman... Ophelia & Kain are happy and Ophelia needs Kain to push her limits but instead something goes horribly wrong and now Kain may lose her forever. Because of what happened , he turned to his hated half brother Ryker to help fix his "Dolly" but did he instead give him a way to take her from him- for good ? Who ultimately will win ? Another dark read with an ending that I didn't expect. Cant wait for book 3.

My rating: 4.8 stars *****

Ryker and Kain had a difficult relationship, and having Ryker try to get through to Ophelia only made things even more complicated. This was a story that went beyond what I expected, and I was sucked into their darkness. This was a fantastic read, and I had a tough time deciding if I liked Ryker or Kain more. It was such a sinfully good book!

It's no secret that I love this author. If doesn't matter the pen name she uses I will always be eager to get more and more. Fawn Bailey is one of them. Her books are intense and dark with do much danger but also love in between. Some scenes might shock you but will also give you some hot flashes... Trust me.
Flight is her latest release and keep telling us the stories of Ophelia and Kain and Ryker.
But I need to tell you something. Have you read the first two books from this series? If you haven't you must because these books are not standalones so you will not be able to understand this series without those.
Ophelia and Kain are living together, finding the things they love in each other and trying to be happy but as you know danger is lurking in the shadows. When the person you trust the most breaks you, how can you heal? How can you get back in one piece?
Ryker thought that family was supposed to protect and love you till death do us part but when your own father kills his son...
If I thought that the first two books were intense... Hell this one is so dark.
The plot is superb, very well written, super engaging, dark and raw. I was thinking one thing but then this author had other ideas and things changed.
We will get some of the answers we were seeking but new ones will appear and guess what? You'll have to wait for the next book.
Darkness, crime, betrayal, madness are very present as well as love, friendship, hope and...
Fawn... What can I say? No new words so I'll stick with what I've said before. You rock and despite this books might shock some people I loved every page. Can't wait for the next one.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

As an indie proofreader and editor, I can’t help but hone in on every minor mistake I come across while reading, and unfortunately, this book is in then dated with them. Usually when a book is this badly in need of an edit and proofread, I am so distracted and frustrated that I won’t continue on in the series. There is something extraordinary about this storyline though.... Although Bailey tells us Ophelia is wearing a red dress then two paragraphs later says that it’s white, and despite us still not being told what Kain looks like, I am absolutely consumed by the storyline and neeeeeed to find out what happens!!! The chemistry between the characters is crazy hot, and the darkness level is ultra dark!! The fact that I am excited to continue reading this series despite the constant typos, incorrect use of pronouns (ie: a female referred to as he, first person character referring to himself as you, ) and multiple tenses in one sentence (for example, ”I back away, letting the door creaked as it closed behind me ) clearly demonstrates how great this storyline is!!!

Kain & Ophelia are back together, yet only for a brief time. Ophelia wants Kain to punish her, but when he goes to far will he lose her. Ryker is now trying to help Kain with Ophelia only he is conflicted with wanting her and her friend Ginger. The story was everything. Intense with the boys father Michael coming at them both, kidnapping, dishonesty, and confliction between all parties. It was even nice to have a little glimpse of Thorne, Rose, and Amber in this story. Just when you think the story has finally ended and Kain and Ophelia can have the life they long for, Kain drops a bombshell on her. I look forward to see what happens next!

This is book 2 in a trilogy and it follows a free prequel which must be read to understand the story. I was a bit on the fence with the prequel as it was a bit complex and I didn’t understand or connect with the characters. Now that Kain has his girl back, he pushes her beyond her limits and turns to Ryker to try to save her. We are taken on a boundary pushing journey. I really wanted to love this story, but there were quite a few inconsistencies or confusing elements. Beacause, I am a person who has to know how this ends, I will read the final book, but based on how things are in this one, it won’t be a favorite read. It’s truly sad, as the basic book had so much promise, but it could have used better editing for flow and character development.

This is the second story in the Gilded Cage series and must be read after Wings. It’s as dark if not darker than the first. Ryker, Kain and Ophelia take you through every possible emotion. The story is still engaging, there are so many plot twists and things happening that you keep the pages turning no matter what you're actually supposed to be doing. It's dark and depraved, it's sad and heart-wrenching. I've read feather, and wings which I loved, and have been looking forward to this book. You do need to have read Feather and Wings to understand this.

I volunteered to read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and to submit an honest review.

To Ophelia, Kain is Her Master, Her Kain, her One and Only. This is what she lives for until one night when Kain went way to far in sexually punishing her until he broke her spiritually and emotionally. Ophelia pushed him that night to punish her more and more, even agreeing to not use the "safe" word.

The end result was Ophelia practically becoming a vegetable and screaming whenever Kain came near her. When Kain realised he had to send Ophelia away in order for her to heal, he sent her to stay with his half brother Ryker.

Ryker had always loved Ophelia and wanted her for himself; however, she had been promised to Max. After the death of her family, Kain kidnapped her and kept her for himself. Now that she was with Ryker, he vowed that not only would he help her heal, he would make her love him instead of Kain.

Kain and Ryker had the same mafia leading Father whom they despised and wanted to see dead for all the horrific things he done to them and others.

Ophelia is caught within the triangle of three men as even their Father wanted to have her just to take her away from Ryker and Kain. at any cost.

Flight is a very dark sinister and sexual book that is also an excellent read that takes the reader further into the lives of the characters. Another great book by Fawn Bailey.

Russian mafia princess Ophelia Sokolov turned submissive is back with her master Kain Archer after being rescued from a forced marriage to Italian mob prince Max Marino. Ophelia realises she would be so lost without the handsome Kain and that he's the only thing she wants. Except that Ophelia craves pain and when Kain finally relents and gives her what she wants, he breaks her. Nothing Kain does helps Ophelia so as a last resort he calls his half-brother Ryker Marino, who Ophelia has loved for most of her life, for help. Ryker tells Kain he'll only agree on one condition "Once she's all better. She gets to decide who she wants to be with. And if she says me, you're not going to fight it. You're just going to let her be mine." Italian mob prince Ryker wonders whether he and Ophelia, the love of his life and the girl he's been lusting after since they were children, will ever be able to rebuild what they had before Kain came along. Kain and Ryker's father Michael Marino wants to end Kain and Ophelia and he's hot on their trail. Will Ophelia and Kain get their HEA? Note: this story ends on a cliffhanger

Fawn Bailey delivers a dark, twisted and suspenseful story that will keep you on your toes. I can't wait to read Nightbird, Book 3 of the Gilded Cage series.

While the first book played with my emotions and loyalty, this second one blew me away.

These books are dark, so no matter what, you're not gonna find the perfect cookie cutter men here, but these men really are on a whole other level. Technically they're not good, but Fawn manages to write them in a way where you can't help but sympathise. You want to smother them and tuck away the heroine somewhere safe, but at the same time you're rooting for the heroine to get her happily dark ever after with her alpha hero.

The story is still engaging, there are so many plot twists and things happening that you keep the pages turning no matter what you're actually supposed to be doing. And even if you think in the end that they can have their good ending, you get a curveball into the next upcoming book. Because as we all know, cliffhangers are Fawn's specialty.

It's dark and depraved, it's sad and heart-wrenching and if you can't handle a little darkness, then this might not be the book for you. But if you can, then I suggest reading when you have enough time to yourself because you will not be able to put it down!

Holy Fuuuucking Moly, this series is deliciously dark but addictive, and just gets better and better.

If i loved Kain in the last book he was alot more scary in this story, as he took that one step too far by breaking his dolly and pushing her past her limits, even though she had learnt to love her master. He was guttered by his actions and in his haste to bring her back to him he recruits Ryker his half brother to help, even knowing that Ryker loved Ophelia in the past but Kain is desperate to bring his dolly back to him.

Ryker is torn as he wants Ophelia to pick him when she gets better not Kain again. But he is torn as the young nurse that Kain has sent with Ophelia is also untouchable in there bargain that they made. This book was gripping, dark, raw, depraved, hot as hell but with sad and heart-wrenching moments, there was so many emotions i went through reading this book.It was a page turner at its very best, it was hard to put this down once i had started.

I loved how Ryker and Kain both came to rely on each other in the end,the ending i never saw coming but was a brilliant way to end this so that i now need the next book to see how its all going to unfold.

This is the second story in the Gilded Cage series and must be read after Wings. It’s as dark if not darker than the first.
After being forced into an arranged marriage Ophelia is finally back with her master, Kain. Ophelia has realized that she needs Kain's punishment to feel complete. After weeks of begging Kain to push her limits, Ophelia gets her wish but with tragic results. The punishment was worse than she expected.
Kain was guttered by his actions and in his haste to bring her back to him he recruits Ryker, his half brother to help, even knowing that Ryker loved Ophelia in the past. Kain is desperate to bring his dolly back to him. Hoping he hasn't lost her forever. Ryker is torn between helping Kain or not. He still wants Ophelia back with him. He will do anything to help her. I loved how Ryker and Kain both came to rely on each other in the end. There are so many plot twists within the story. And the ending...wow what a twist!! Love Fawn's stories!! They're not for everyone since they're very dark. If you are sensitive to certain situations then this book is not for you.
I received an arc of this book and chose to give my honest opinion.

Wow, this book needs to come with a WARNING: may cause heart palpitations!!!!

My emotions feel like they've been through the wringer. I was shattering while the characters were breaking. It's just this amazing, gut-wrenching of a story that has continued to get better with every book and every page. It just will get in your face and demand your attention with it's rawness and realness. I fell so hard for Kain and Ophelia and I can't wait to see what Fawn Bailey creates next.

Flight is book 2 in the Gilded Cage series and it was really good. I was surprised at at some things that happened especially between Kain and Ophelia but definitely enjoyed this. Fawn's books capture your attention from the beginning and don't let go. If you like it dark, gritty and so so deep definitely read this but start with the prequel and work your way to this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Wow, just wow! I’m trying to figure out my words for this review. I did not see this coming, never did I expect Kain to push his Dolly to the brink of no return, I know she begged for it, but in the end, he should’ve listened to her and he was too consumed to hear and now she’s in despair, inside her head, afraid of him, his touch, his words, he hurt her. Kain has brought in a girl to help make Ophelia comfortable, but Ginger has taken a liking to him and he can’t be concerned with her right now. Taking advice from others, he turns to the one person he hates the most his half-brother Ryker, in hopes of him fixing Ophelia, but is there any coming back from the state she’s in? Ryker still feels so deeply for Ophelia and he doesn’t understand how she can still want Kain time and time again and not choose him. Can Ryker keep the agreement he and Kain made and keep his hands-off Ophelia? Will Kain abide by the agreement that if she chooses Ryker or him, he has to leave her alone? Michael is back and out for revenge starting with his bastard son Kain, hunting him down and taking him, torturing him, feeding him lies, will Kain survive this torment to get back to Ophelia or will Michael end him? This series has me on the edge of my seat, because I have no idea what’s coming next and to me that’s what makes a book phenomenal, it’s not predictable, it’s not wishy washy, it’s dark, twisty, suspenseful, it’s pure raw deliciousness with every turn of the page. Kain and Ryker are two very dark people who are more alike than they would ever admit. They need to pull together to fight the demon ahead of them. One love, two men who would do anything for her, who will she ultimately choose in the end if they all survive? I have no idea, but I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Fuuuuuck! Kain is one of those rare villains that have me wet for him but at the same time I'm scared as hell of him! The story takes place a little while after Wings...Ophelia is back home safely with Kain and is begging him to play with her...she wants to be hurt in the play room. Kain decides to grant her, her wish but things spin out of control and circumstances force Kain to leave Ophelia in the care of her childhood love Ryker.

Ryker is not over her so naturally agrees to keep her with a condition that later on if she decides to be with him, Kain will allow her to. As the story goes on we learn a lot about Ryker. He has a soft spot for Ophelia, he's hurting terribly over Max, he has a HUGE cock and knows how to work it (fans my face) and even though his father is a piece of shit he still sees the man who looked after him in his childhood.

The drama starts when Michael abducts Kain and it's up to Ryker and Ophelia to get him back.

This story is everything you have come to expect from Fawn...it's dark, sexy, has action and drama that will leave your heart beating so fast and mess your mind up so bad! I just finished the book and already I want more from Fawn 😉... loved loved loved this story...oh psssst before I forget...any fans from the Rose and Thorn series? Our beloved characters pop in for a visit 😉 if youre like me and love the villains I suggest you pick up this series and fall in love with a pair of the most hottest villains I've ever read 😍

As dark if not darker than the first … 3.5 stars

This is the second story in the Gilded Cage series and must be read after Wings. It’s as dark if not darker than the first. The story continues from the shocking ending of Wings, and we find Ophelia and Kain enjoying a blissful respite while they wait for the other shoe to drop knowing they are being hunted. After weeks of begging Kain to push her limits, Ophelia gets her wish – with unexpected results which forces Kain to form a truce with Ryker in order to assist her. Meanwhile Michael continues his search and destroy mission against both Kain and Ryker. Who will come out on top? And when the dust settles who will own Ophelia? Kudos for the surprise at the end – I hadn’t expected that. I’m not a particular fan of this story. Without providing any spoilers, I felt there were several inconsistencies in the storyline and that some of the plot was just farfetched. It also seemed to take two steps back in order to make any forward progression.

I want to start by saying this is a series and you should definitely read the prequel (Feather) and book one (Wings) before you go any further.

Book Two picks up where Wings left off. This series is seriously dark and twisted and I absolutely loved every dirty, filthy word of these books so far. Ophelia is back where she belongs with Kain. Then something devastating happens and Kain isn't sure what to do to help his Dolly (that's his nickname for Ophelia). He ends up having to trust the other man that is in love with Ophelia, Ryker. They must also keep on the look out for Michael, because he's out to end everyone. I truly love a really great dark romance and believe me this series is absolutely fantastic. I can't wait for the final book in this series called Nightbird. So if you're like me and you love dark romances, make sure you read this series because it is super hot as well as dark!!!!

Book 2 in the Gilded Cage series grabs you by the throat from the very beginning and doesn’t let go until the very end. If you are looking for crazy, twisted dark and soooo sexy, you have found it.

Ophelia has learned to love her Master, Kain, and craves the pain that she knows he can give. But he’s been holding back, afraid to break her like she begs of him. That is, until one night when she pushes for more and he can’t stop himself from giving it all to her. She gets what she wants, but at a price that that was too high to pay.

This book is a wild ride of dangerous games and dark love. Of heartache and madness. Of love and revenge. Brothers come together and loyalties are tested. Old flames ignite and sacrifices are made. And in the end, there are winners and losers and love, no matter how it comes, wins.

While there is promise of book 3, this book does and doesn't end in a cliffhanger. (You'll see what I mean.) You should, however, read book 1 for book 2 to make sense.

I loved the Rose and Thorne series, which is a related series to Gilded Cage, and I loved book one here. Flight was a really good story but it didn't hold my attention like all the other books have. There were parts, when I was reading, where I didn't want to have to put it down. However, it wasn't the consistent feeling I’ve had with all this author's other book. Regardless, I still enjoyed the story very much.

Kane messed up and pushed Ophelia too far. Retreating to her own little world, Ophelia doesn't talk or respond in anyway to those around her. Is this it? Did Kane finally break Ophelia but beyond repair? I don't want spoilers so I'll let you find those answers for yourself. This is a dark read with some violent scenes. There was also a twist I didn't see coming.

I thought this would be Ryker's story based on the blurb. This book was a mixture of Ryker and Kain along with the Ophelia. I liked this book. It was intense, dramatic, horrifying, and exceedingly hard to put down. The relationship between Kain and Ophelia took a dramatic turn in the beginning. I struggled with what seemed to be his hatred of her and yet he professed to love her. Near the end of the story, the author has Kain make a disparaging remark in his thoughts about someone else's actions and his thought is in total contradiction of how he has treated Ophelia. I understand he felt he was doing what she wanted, but it was still hard to read.

You should definitely read each book in order to fully capture just what each character is going through. Each book is its own masterpiece but the enjoyment will be heightened if you read them together or within a short timeframe. The author has created a world that is interesting and captures our attention.

Wow! This series keeps getting better and better! I loved this book and cannot wait for the finale. This story goes deeper into the story of these characters. There will be questions and answers, yet there will also be mind-blowing moments and times when you will have to remember to breathe.
You MUST read Feather and Wings first, as this is NOT a standalone. I love the development of all of the characters but mostly I love the way the author has given her readers a view into all of the characters, their minds-eye and feelings. I cannot explain how amazing this series is and I cannot wait for the final book, Nightbird. You will have more questions than answers but they are presented in the most brilliant way. Hold on for a dark beautiful ride! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am leaving an honest review.

This Mafia-BDSM story continues. If you haven't read Feather (the prequel) and Wings (the first book), there may be some spoilers ahead. This is not a standalone. It is set in the same world as the Rose and Thorn series. The start lulls you in. Ophelia has been kept by Kain but she's not unhappy about it. Ophelia thinks she wants all of Kain's darkness but is she really ready for it? When Kain unleashes himself, mistakes are made and Ophelia suffers greatly. The result is that Kain needs Ryker's help with Ophelia. It is devastating to see both Kain and Ophelia suffer, as well as Ryker. This series is peppered with complicated love triangles. The story is intense, gritty, emotional; it continues with its twists, turns, and violence, and a mild cliffy, just to let you know there is more to come.
