Philip Parris "Phil" Lynott (pronounced /ˈlaɪnɒt/; 20 August 1949 – 4 January 1986) was an Irish singer, bassist, musician, songwriter and poet who first came to prominence as the frontman of Thin Lizzy. He released two solo albums and also formed and fronted the band Grand Slam, right up until his death on 4 January 1986. He was 36 years old.
