In the battle of love and loyalty, only one can win.

As Vice President of The Desert Eagles motorcycle club, Derek Pearce is ordered to do business with the ruthless organizer of a dog-fighting ring. But Derek faces another challenge: ten years after turning down his marriage proposal, his childhood love, Brielle Andrews, returns home to Las Vegas. Brielle has devoted her life to healing and saving animals from harm, including, of course, dogs used for fighting.

Derek reconnects with Brielle after rescuing a dog severely injured in a fight and rushing it to the nearest animal hospital, where he finds Brielle as the lead veterinarian. Sparks fly, but turn acrid when she becomes suspicious about how the dog was hurt. Derek can’t risk telling her the truth for fear of exposing the club to an investigation. Out of options, Brielle enlists her father, a federal judge, for help.

When new clues about The Desert Eagles MC come to light, will Brielle’s loyalty to her father and insistence on unearthing the truth about the fighting ring threaten her newly rekindled romance with Derek? Will Derek do whatever is necessary to save their love—and their lives—even if it means exposing the club?

WOW! Can't believe this is Aleaxandra's first book!!! I'm kind of newish to the MC genre but she's definitely made me want more!!! Collateral is fast paced, gritty, suspenseful, emotional, turbulent, and off the charts STEAMY! Phew! I'm serious......you might want to grab a fan!

Derek is VP of the Desert Eagles Motorcycle Club. He's smart, charming, gorgeous, take charge and he has a sinfully dirty mouth! It didn't take me long at all to fall for him and trust me it won't take you long either.

"She needed him by her side, and here he was. Her protector. Her rock. Her love."

Brielle is a hard working veterinarian. She's intelligent, kind, empathetic, sharp, drop dead beautiful and definitely a heroine you would love to be.

Derek and Brielle have history. Let's just say the last time they saw each other wasnt under the best conditions. After not seeing each other for ten years Derek walks into Brielle's Veterinary clinic with a half dead looking dog named Rocky.

“Do you love me?” She regretted the question as soon as it left her mouth, but she needed the truth. He caressed her face, almost as if he was trying to remember something. She watched as he opened his mouth and then closed it again. Looking away, she tried to turn back around, but he held her. He lifted her chin so she could meet his eyes. “I never stopped.”

It's almost like time hadn't passed at all once they look into each others eyes. Emotionally they're both still bound to each other but Derek has his reasons for trying to keep her at arms length until......he can't.

Although things have changed some things remain the same and the beautiful "girl next door" falling for the "bad boy" isn't a fairytale some can support. While Derek and Brielle try to work through past hurts, current emotions and ever present feelings.....they both need to worry about a dangerous threat.

"Derek stroked his fingers in between her bare lips and slipped a finger inside. “You’re so fucking wet, baby girl.”Gasping for breath, Brielle gripped the sheets and bit her lip. “Derek!”She moved her hips up, desperate for his mouth. “Shhh. Just relax, Bri, and let me eat this pussy.”She closed her eyes and nodded."

Collateral will have you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who's lying, keeping secrets, back stabbing and plotting. There's murder, betrayal, twist, redemption, and so much more! I couldn't put it down, I want more and hope to dive back into this amazing world!

**ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review**

At first, Collateral, the first book in the series, is bold, dangerous, and not forgetting super HOT, but it's when you look back after finishing the story that you realise there is so much more it. Alexandra has built characters that fought tooth and nail to be the strong-willed and sassy people that they are.

This was an excellent debut novel from Alexandra. It's a fast paced story that you don't want to put down. I can't wait to see what's next!

I’m so impressed that this is a debut novel! I would have never guessed it-because the author wrote with such sophistication, and her timeline was laid out so perfectly, I really appreciated it as a reader. I definitely felt all the work she poured into this story, as I was literally on the edge of my seat trying to guess what was going to happen.
This book was packed to the brim with suspense, and was a pretty thrilling read. I liked how the love story centered around them having history, and the fact they really couldn’t stay a part and dodge fate any more. Though they have bigger, dangerous problems now, as they fight them together, it was easy to fall in love with this story.
I will absolutely read more from this author in the future!

Not quite a DNF but pretty close. The one main thing I didn’t like was the OW’s stuff. Yes I understand they weren’t together but I don’t want to see that. I was already rooting for the two. 😮‍💨

Derek (H) is a VP of a motorcycle club, Brielle (h) is a veterinarian. They were in love when h up and left but 10 years later has come back.

SAFETY:
OM drama: No
OW drama: Yes. H asks for h’s coworkers number, H has a go to “fuck buddy” and they have a threesome with that coworker and our h walked in on. When they get together he is committed.

*WARNING: There is graphic scenes of dog fighting! *

I don't normally read MC romances, but I enjoyed this one. It was a good start to this Las Vegas group. Derek and Brielle were devoted to each other all the way back when, and until they were college age, Derek knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Brielle. But Brielle breaks it off with him, giving him a crappy reason and ultimately breaking his heart and her own. She leaves town, 10 years pass, and she's back.

Derek's character, I was and still am real iffy about him, only because while he's sweet to Brielle after realizing his love for her is so strong, there are questionable things he was doing that made me wonder about him. Brielle is strong and caring. While they are figuring out how they fit into each others lives again, the story has some suspense going on, and action. Overall it was an enjoyable read. I'm curious to see who is involved in the next book...

Good first novel.

When I saw this was an MC romance with a black heroine, I immediately wanted it. This novel is not MC-lite. It’s kind of gritty, the hookups messy and the situations in it around the hero and heroine’s romance may not be for everyone, but I found it to be inclusive (Black heroine, LGBT friends, racially diverse supporting characters) and diverse and action-packed. There are some heavy themes in this like grief, childhood abandonment, heavy substance use and drug addiction- some of these things may be triggers so readers discretion advised.

The novel was overall well-executed although I think the central suspense conflict was a little loopholey although the writing was compelling enough that one could overlook this. It was also a little disingenuous for the heroine to claim ignorance over what The Desert Eagles were about. I was rolling my eyes the entire time like “GIRLLL!!!” There’s no cheating per se in this, but there are questionable hook ups by the hero after meeting the heroine and I know that even though that is reality, that might be an issue for some. I also didn’t feel like the heroine dealt with this issue sufficiently before jumping into bed unprotected with the “public property” hero.

All of that said, the characters were interesting and compelling and I would definitely want to read more in this series from this author. I’m particularly interested in Max and Amy’s story or even AJ’s and if Terrence find love again.

This is the 1st in a new series and well as a debut from this author, and my word, I am so impressed with her work, and this is certainly an author to look out for in the future. Derek is the VP of the “Desert Eagles” and when he rescues a badly injured dog from a fight he rushes to a Veterinarian for treatment, where he comes face to face with his past love who he has not seen for 10-years. Brielle returns to her hometown as the lead veterinarian who has dedicated her life to saving and healing animals from harm. The sparks fly when these two meets again and the chemistry is explosive and undeniable. This is a well written fast paced story which is filled with secrets, betrayal, loyalty, murder, twists, and love, which all leads to a thrilling and steamy all-consuming and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.

I did not realize that I would love this MC so much! This is a fast paced gritty raunchy read that I know you are sure to LOVE! I love the fact that she included animals and an MC VP who has a heart of gold who willingly is such a sweetie you might get a tooth ache! Brielle is a veterinarian who loves animals. Derek is the VP of the local MC. Brielle and Derek have history but it is when he brings in a on deaths door dog that sparks fly! Get ready for a ride you will not want to miss! The writing is SPECTACULAR! The character development is AMAZING!
I received an ARC copy and am leaving my honest and voluntary review.

This is a new to me author that will be added to my watchlist for anytime they have a new book released. I love MC books! This one gives you all the thrills you would expect. Heartbreak, deceit, loyalty, traitors, love, etc. It will keep you engaged and entertained.

Brie and Derek have quite a past. Their teenage feelings are coming back to haunt them as adults. They have to figure out how to get past that so that they can be together.

There will be moments of love and hate for Derek. Brie is the girl we are supporting and screaming in support of as she stands up to these men.

I’m excited to see what this author will bring next.

This was a great debut.
Although personally I felt some things were mentioned a little too much, and others not enough, I can understand the reasoning why, hopefully the more books the author produces, she'll find the right balance.
In saying that, the detailing made you feel like you are right there beside the characters, in all it's gruesome glory.
Looking forward to starting the next book in the series.

This MC romance has a unique storyline and for those not into MC, I would almost call it MC lite as it isn't heavy on typical
MC things. What I particularly loved is the diversity in characters which is sorely lacking still in 2021. I may be a typical white girl but I like to read about all kinds of people. My only issue and it a personal one, is it written in 3rd person and I much prefer 1st person especially dual pov.

As a dog mom of 4 it was a little hard for me to read some of the more gruesome scenes described in the book about the dogs but I understood it was part of the story. Derrick and Brielle found each other again and then mayhem commences. Lol. First book I have read by this author
