Part 3 in this heart-pounding adventure is sure to please Dragon Defenders fans. An Unfamiliar Place pounds the young brothers with new challenges, but with their feathered accomplice (Lightning the falcon) along for the ride, they battle through and never give up! The story stand on its own but the digital side of this great Kiwi series is a wonderful bonus.Loved it!
We really enjoyed the first two books, and were excited about this one. The first two were uniquely kiwi and had a focus nature and survival, whereas this one was all extreme action. It was weird that terms were Americanised - feet and yards, and pavement instead of footpath. It lost its footing as a book set in the South Pacific. And so many guns.
Not sure why all measurements are written in imperial when we use metrics in NZ. I can understand feet and i guess miles but have no idea about yards. My nieces and nephews will have no idea of these measurements.
My 5th grade students absolutely love this series, especially the boys! They're especially good for boys who don't enjoy books. This series really pulls them in.
