At the Southern tip of Ireland, the inhabitants of coastal village Baltimore are slow to rise from the dreamy euphoria of a long day of festivities. The inhabitants are suddenly wakened by the screams and splintered crashes of battle as Moorish raiders mercilessly plunder and destroy.
The young and able are taken and most of those remaining are brutishly slaughtered. Among the captives, torn from the arms of her lover, bound for a far-off land and a life of slavery, is the beautiful Kirsten.

Each of them is set upon an epic journey into a world beyond their imagination.

The screenplay for Baltimore. Book 1 is completed and has been selected for the final top-five in the Autumn Screenplay Awards in Los Angeles. This is the first competition entered for Baltimore which bodes well for the prospect of a future movie or TV mini-series.
Next project is The Tailor Spy, a novel based on real happenings in Worcester, England, during the final battle of the English Civil War in 1651. Both novel and screenplay will be in the market by the middle of next year.

When I was looking for a romantic historical book to read I was tempted to reach for a Jane Austen novel, after all, it was a while since I had read anything and a safe bet is always an easy choice. However, knowing the ending to all of Austen’s classics did make me wonder about the last time I read something different. So, striving for change, I picked up a copy of a new novel Baltimore.
I immediately found myself around a campfire in the heartland of this idyllic southern Ireland coast, dancing with the joyful inhabitants and a vivacious Kirsten who is happily being wooed by young Daemon. The dancing is shortlived when the happy scene comes to an abrupt end as the villages find themselves the victims of barbaric raiders.
Baltimore is a deeply moving, beautifully paced and, thought-provoking story, with evocative, dramatic imagery which takes you on a voyage into the unknown, and just like its characters, you begin the search for answers.
Daemon Quirk, full of naïve passion and wit, with the kind of loyalty you want in a hero. Torn apart from his true love Kirsten and thrown into an unknown world without any knowledge of her destiny or his own. This feels like one of the great love stories.
The voyage is long and full of surprises. An epic tale where we see different worlds and ideals clash and force a tidal wave of twists and turns. I found everything I wanted in a book and I already have book 2! I can't wait to find out how It all turns out and already looking forward to Baltimore 3. Maureen.
A stirring start to a significant historical drama. The action is relentless, the plot development seamless. The characters are endearing and the anticipation for the next part of the Trilogy, a source on nervous expectation. I have just acquired Baltimore Book 2!
