The Inventors and the Lost Island is a great sequel with puzzle-solving and adventure.
The story takes place in the 1820s and naturally blends history with fiction. The author’s description made me fall in love with this time period. I personally read up on Ada Byron Lovelace because she sounded so interesting.
The story is about choices and consequences, and that every story has more than one point of view. A couple of the important lessons learned in The Inventors are: being happy with what you have instead of being angry over what you don’t, and finding out that family and friendship are the greatest treasure of all. (I know that sounds cheesy, but it’s true and most
don’t realize it until it’s too late.)
The story held my attention with the mysterious puzzles, twists and turns mixed with emotions, and a satisfying ending. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, however you will want to read the first in the series, “The Inventors at No. 8” as this book is not a standalone sequel. You will probably be very confused if you don’t start at the beginning. Please read it, it’s a great book!
