Brand New from K A Sands.

Don’t sleep with an employee. You’ll lose everything, including your name above the door.

My father didn’t know me at all. I signed that contract with infallible intent.

I didn’t ‘do’ employees, boyfriends, or relationships. What I did do, was anyone willingly strapped down at Club Descent, only finding myself when I lost control. My twin, Giles, the only man able to stop me spiralling too far.

Until he walked in. Sophistication in Edward Green brogues.

All sin and seduction. The man didn’t know the power he held.

Hired on the spot, common sense be damned, my brother’s warnings fell on deaf ears. Flawed decisions followed aplenty.

What is it they say - to reach the top, you must hit rock bottom first? Our illicit affair upended all the rules I played by. When his darkest past crawled from the woodwork and stole him from me, I followed on hands and knees to drag him back.

Falling from grace never looked so menacing, his descent was our bleakest hour.
Liam Sheldon was not losing this time…

Klaire is a multi genre author who has a passion for reading and more often than not, can be found with her nose stuck in a book. She loves angsty, dark reads but is not averse to the fun, light hearted side either. Typically, a romance reader, of most genres/sub genres, her passion for literature and written words goes back to her childhood when she always dreamed of writing and telling the world her stories.

Not quite a stay at home mum, Klaire has a busy life which she shares with her husband of twenty-five years and her little monkey boy. Her adult children have flown the coop already, but still manage to come home for ‘mama’s lasagne.’ EOL Nurse and business owner are her daytime realities.

Avid eater of mayonnaise and chips, anti-get fitter, lover of cheesy music and a fierce advocate of things close to her heart. She has a bucket list as long as her arm, which includes sky diving and visiting Cambodia. And wants to travel the world.

Great believer in second chances, insta-love (because her love is a product of that), fairy tales and monsters… Klaire just wants to write all the words for you.

Woahh 5 BIG stars Dark, gritty, thunderous story and I loved it...
It was all I hoped for... a strong story, dark, lovable, strong personalities, wonderful environments and a stunning steady plot.

“I was a sick son-of-a-bitch and made no pretences over it.”

Theodore likes is hard and rough... he gets it at Club Decent... regularly
Liam likes a firm hand... to get it he visits Club Decent... sporadically.

There was an instant undeniable attraction. Liam will work as Theodore’s PA.
Working at Cranstead and Sons was the chance of his life and working for Theodore was all he desired. Together with his twin brother Giles Theodore runs his fathers company, a clause will prevent any relationship between colleagues...
With all the firework between them it’s difficult to concentrate. Theodore can’t lose his company at Liam and Liam don’t want to lose his job.
But the tension is strong and they are getting more and more in trouble...

But Liam has a past, a dark one. His job, relationship and life are in jeopardy.

Ghaawd I loved this consistent strong written story. Sharp and well thought out.
Amazingly engaging personalities in a captivating environment. The whole story strong as a building... a plot that will take your breath!
Probably your heart will thunder, your blood pressure get sky high and you will sit on the edge of your chair... trembling... just like I did.
Stunning captivating read. An absolute mustread I highly recommend!!

Wow, this book crept up on me out of nowhere, I loved it! KA Sands is a new to me author, but I love mm, so wanted to give it a try. From a slightly taboo boss meets P.A. story to full blown suspense on the dark side, with two gorgeous guys and a whole ton of chemistry and hotness! It was much darker and grittier than I was expecting from the blurb, which totally appealed to me.
Theodore (Teddy) owns and runs a firm of solicitors with his twin brother Giles. When Liam applies for a position as his PA, the normally unfeeling, dominant to point of losing control Teddy, sees someone who blows his mind and makes him want to have a relationship, something he never thought he would be capable of. Unfortunately, company policy would destroy both their careers if they acted on the very obvious mutual attraction.
When Josh, a friend of Liams comes to the company for legal aid, Liams past comes back to haunt him and things take a very dark turn for him and Josh.

This book had me gripped from the start, I really liked these characters, the brothers, Liam and his fabulous Ma, so I'm definitely going to be reading more from this author, in fact book two, Ascent is calling! 4.5 stars

Bugger was not expecting such a fantastic book from this Author, as not read any of her books before but that is about to change, after i read the blurb i was hooked as i love a MM and this appealed to me straight away. But WOW this wasn't just a MM but a dark read as well, which if you know me you will know i love a dark read,it is one of my favourite genre's to read,so a dark MM was right up my street, and this did not disappoint at all.

Liam applied for the job as PA to Theodore (Teddy) who runs the family's firm of solicitors along with his twin brother Giles. As soon as these two meet there is sparks flying around but there is a clause in the company policy that would destroy any careers they both love if they took up any form of relationship.

Liam has been hurt in the past with a disastrous relationship with his ex boss so is very reluctant to start anything with Ted his Boss in his new position in a job he loves. They are both members of a sex club called Club Descent and they both go there for release from there sexual tensions.A chance meeting in the club between these two has consequences that neither know how to handle and the more time they are together the chemistry between them is smoking Hot.

Liam has a dark past and the more that Teddy and Liam are spending together the closer they are becoming, but the past rares its ugly head that nearly destroy's them both.I love these two sexy males and together they was smoking hot.The plot was building and building, it took my breath away with how this story came to a head, and boy i was on the edge of my seat with how it was all unfolding. So many emotions i had reading this book,it was captivating and beautifully written and i have already downloaded the next book to find out about Giles story.Five Huge Sexy Stars.

Two major problems with this book.

1. It wasn't romantic. Honestly, take away the sex between these two and all you'd have is a bit of bland conversation between a 'twinky' PA and an arrogant lawyer. They don't date, don't have fun banter, and don't have much in common aside from work.

2. The characters were crappy. Liam was the better of the two leads by far, but I still rolled my eyes at his life choices. You can be forgiven for having an affair with your boss once, but after getting a new job and then immediately sleeping with that boss too, that's clearly just poor judgment on your part.

The other lead Teddy was even worse though. He was a real POS. Teddy is exactly the reason why I don't find maledoms in fiction appealing - he was arrogant, selfish in bed, and had a weak 'poor me' backstory that's meant to somehow justify his shitty behaviour.

He was also a predator. When Ed warns Liam about Teddy in the opening chapters, the conversation goes like this:

'"He doesn’t get when to stop, needs his brother to reign him in. I know what you like, and Theodore Cranstead is not it,” he spat out. Ed was peeling back the mild-mannered man behind the suit, giving me a first-hand account of Ted’s character outside of his profession. I wasn’t sure I liked what I was hearing. If Ed worried over the man, then I’d do well to listen.
"Has he hurt people?” I shut my eyes waiting for the answer I realised would be yes. Ed all worked up the way he was, told me all I needed to know.
The softness had returned to Ed’s features when he turned to face me again. “Yes, frequently.”

I don't think I need to explain why a Dom who violates his play partners when they're at their most vulnerable, who needs to be watched by the club staff in case he goes too far, isn't worthy of the title. It's pretty disgusting actually.

Ted even acknowledges how bad his actions were around the 80% mark:

"Ed pointed in my direction and I looked at the floor ashamed. I really had pushed and violated so many boundaries. I’d not always been on my best behaviour whilst there, and this man had seen it first-hand. Intervened many a time."

But this doesn't feel like true remorse to me. Nor are there any consequences for what he did to others in the past. He was never barred from the club or reprimanded in any way. And that pissed me off.

Especially considering this book deals with some truly chilling violence and sexual abuse by the villain, I don't think it's good that it seems to gloss over the predatory and unsafe actions committed by one of the leads.

It took me less than 24 hours to read this book. Starting late last night I read for as long as I dared through the night and then at every possible moment during today when I didn't have to 'adult' in real life. Can I tell you that yesterday I spent all day downloading my next read but then changing my mind just not quite feeling it. I'm not a stranger to K A Sands' books, in fact her Razor series is one of my favourites so I hoped that by purchasing Descent she could get me out of this book funk I was obviously in..... and she certainly did!

I fancied something dark, angsty and gritty to read and from checking a couple of reviews I knew this book would tick that box. I was addicted to reading Liam and Ted's story from the very first chapter. I do love a good M/M story, and the author already proved to me that she could write a good one when I read Changing Tides.

I loved all the characters in the book- but there was just something special about Ted, Liam and Giles. I can't describe it but if I could have them as my friends in real life, I really would love that. I loved how their stories progressed and the challenges and changes that happened because of circumstances. Then when two different times in Liam's life collide, the twists and turns that consequently happened were mind blowing.... there was no way I was going to put my kindle down until I knew what had happened and what the outcome was going to be. I'm not going to say anything more, because I really don't want to spoil it for you.

I could kick myself for not reading this sooner, but the positive to this is that the next book in the series (Ascent) is available for me to dive straight into. I'm anticipating not a lot of sleep once again tonight but it will be so worth it.... of this I'm absolutely certain.

Descent is an extremely well written, dark M/M romance. This one will definitely keep you enthralled from page one all the way to the last page.

KA Sands has really brought to life her characters in this one. I certainly felt all the emotions while reading this: the frustration, the love, the desperation, the pain, suffering and the agony that the characters are going through. They are all well-rounded characters who I quickly became absorbed in, wanting to know what is going to happen next and sometimes just holding your breath, before you do find out.

It will leave you wanting more and more is coming in the form of book two, Ascent, and I for one can't wait! I highly recommend you one-click this story now, you really aren't going to regret it.

Wow!!
This was my first book I've read by KA Sands and I was blown away!
I'll be honest and say I wasnt sure at first as I'm not too huge on the whole erotica thing BUT this book is completely different from what I expected at first.
This is the story of Liam and Ted..
Ted owns a company with twin brother Giles and is instantly attracted to Liam when he appears for an interview..
Liam has heard things about Ted over the years and doesnt let that put him off applying for a job beneath his pay grade as he needs away from his current job..
Cue drama.. emotion..love ..lies and a rollercoaster journey for this pair!
Ready to jump into Book 2 to read Giles story next!fab writing.

I am a big fan of M/M and this is one of the best reads i've read in while. Descent brings you the story between Ted and Liam and the love, pain and struggles they go through to become each others future. Looking forward to reading Giles story.

I love MM fiction, and this ticked all my boxes. Engaging, emotional, intense and wicked.

These two found each other, but not without a struggle. There are some intense scenes that will have you on edge. Liam and Teddy were interesting characters. even knowing what was there to lose, these boys were willing to go the whole nine yards. |while there were a few scenes f being back and forth, this work panned out fantastic. Well written and hopefully the next book in the series carry on this intensity.

There were rules and one was not to sleep with employees. If you do then you may lose everything. Well she finally breaks that rule and soon she will fall from Grace as she tries to bring him back. Can she retain everything? Can she regain him? See what will happen

I love the Edward Green shoes. I was waiting for a scene with just the men and the shoes. My heart cracked with poor Liam's previous employer and all he went thru. I cried a few times too. I loved the relationship between Liam and Teddy. I am so ready to read about Giles and Joshua.

Teddy and Giles are twins and yet totally different. Liam couldn’t work for Chester any longer, this is where I say at some point Liam will tell Teddy the full story of what exactly Chester did to him in graphic detail, there will also be a scene where Chester gets ahold of Josh I believe his name was and Liam again this will also have the graphic and horrific telling of exactly whet Chester does to them. There is also some really hot as heck scenes with Teddy and Liam. The graphic scenes where very hard to get through and completely heartbreaking for me however, this is A truly fabulous story and once again just wow and enjoy.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought it was really good! The storyline was dark and drew me in from the beginning. I had a hard time putting it down. Liam and Teddy were excellent characters. The chemistry between them was hot. I really enjoyed this one and can't wait to read the next book, as well as more by this author.

I'm not sure about all the 5 stars ratings and reviews this book received. I DNF at around 20 percent. Weird turns of phrases, typos, grammar mistakes, instances where a certain sentence would contradict what the author said in a previous paragraph etc. Sorry, but not for me.

Descent by K A Sands was great! I was worried it would simply be yet another retelling of the classic Secretary/Boss love affair, but there were plenty of unique elements that kept it fresh!

The primary reason for a four star review from me would be the characterisation of Ted and Liam, and the way their relationship progressed. Their thoughts on the relationship and their motivations on their actions kept changing back and forth, with little to no new justification for the change. Sometimes they'd be willing to give it a go, and then decide it won't work - but with the readers not being given any information about why they change happened. This left me feeling a bit confused, and struggling to keep up a few times.

Beyond that, the book could have done with one more careful sweep in the editing phase - there were a few spelling/grammatical errors throughout that may have been picked up.

Overall, I enjoyed the story, and the darker elements were handled well! Can't wait to read Giles' story next!

It was a bit of a slow start and honestly didn’t think I would like MC Teddy as his penchant for going too far with his conquests was a little uncomfortable. Liam is a sweet guy with a backbone of steel. Liam goes to work for Teddy after leaving his old job and very unpleasant boss. The real reason comes to light after his friend also goes after his former company when he is sacked for unfair dismissal. The tale takes a dark twist which had me gripped and I ended up staying up late to finish it. Well written and can’t wait for Teddy’s brothers story next. Would also be interested in a HEA for their Father.

This was a great read! First read by this author and I can’t wait for future books of these guys!!!
The story line had me captivated!
The characters intrigued me and I loved the instant chemistry and attraction of Theodore and Liam!
There were moments of intense pleasure, moments of pain and moments I feared for Liam, but I loved every minute!
I loved getting to know them and getting to watch them all grow!
Can’t wait to see how Giles and Josh story goes!

I'm a lover of romance, any type of romance. Be it; M/F, M/M, M/F/M, or any other connotation.
I read for the pleasure of visiting people's lives and learning how they operate and love.
I stuff myself silly with authors who often go off script and write from the heart.
It may appear at first look as if they have no plan but the further I dive in the more it becomes clearer. Its like starring for long periods and your eyes unfocus. Gradually the more you blink the clearer your eye sight becomes. That's this author in a nutshell.

Theodore Cranstead is neither black or white. He exists in a world of vibrant colour and hedonism. He lives for his forays to Descent and dropping his control at the door. He never goes without his twin brother Giles, for Giles is his anchor and conscience all rolled into one filthy and desirable package.

Liam on the other hand is gentle and calm. His thrills are his own and he denies himself often. Delayed gratification and him are constant bedfellows. He seems to crave the darkness like a drug addict craves their next score.

When these two come face to face in one very unexpected way the tables begin to spin and even to a new reader it's all too clear they won't be denied.
Liam knows what he wants and Teddy is all to up for it. If only it wasn't for two silly hangups Teddy has. The man is befudling, beguiling and frustrating all at once.

No Sands book would be without angst and the very real darkness of humanity. This one made my skin crawl and my blood run cold. In places I was so sucked in by it all, I was there with them. The invisible ghost screaming for help in the corner. Wishing it could be different. No human should be able to survive what one characters struggles to rise from the ashes. Its almost blood curdling.

The romance is sweet and sour. Hot and spicy but so sweet and dreamy all at the same time. I ooohed and ahhhed and wished it was me far more often then is probably appropriate. Everyone deserves someone who will go to the ends of the earth for them and that was so joyfully shown here.

This book can't be savoured there's just too much adrenaline and angst for that. It's so much more than I hoped it would be and I cannot wait for the next instalment to come out.

Thank you Ms. Sands and congratulations on another impactfully realistic book!
