A wonderfully strange collection of micro fictions and illustrations. A quick read, but deep, darkly funny, and relatable. For fans of Edward Gorey, a softer world, Tim Burton, Etc. Many of these panels we're so good I want to frame them and hang them in my office, partly for inspiration, and partly to see what kind of odd looks I get from normal people. Recommended.
Excellent little book of extremely short stories and very creative artwork. Some of them felt like two sentence horror stories or writing prompts for a much larger piece, but these are just the pinpricks - just little weird/creepy/funny/strange slices of a different world.
An excellent follow up to Pinpricks - the artwork is phenomenal, the stories are thought-provoking, and there were even a couple of "sequel" stories that followed up on characters and situations from the first book (though it's not necessary to read the first one to understand this). Very short stories (from two sentences to a paragraph or so) that offer glimpses into strange worlds and definitely works as a palette cleanser between longer books.
Pinpricks Blue is a wonderful follow up to the original. Thr stories and imagery are beyond question. This one or two page story telling is simply amazing. I highly recommend this, and the original, to anyone who feels they don't belong. Anyone who thinks themself odd out out of place with the world. This will let you know that we're aware all family.
Love the artwork!! It is beautiful, and horrible, and unsettling in the best way possible. Now, the stories themselves varied for me. Some were just average, some were good, and some were phenomenal, in my opinion. The phenomenal ones though, damn, I felt that.
