This was awful! He flirts with another woman while away from his girlfriend (heroine) this nutty woman drugs him and then later says she's pregnant. He breaks off with the heroine because he's "an honourable man" and he will stand by the ow and he just breaks it off over the phone because he's a coward. Ow has a miscarriage and guilts him into staying , months later he has unprotected sex with her and hey presto she's pregnant again! At the start of this book it states he does not find the ow appealing at all but that doesn't stop him from loving her giving him bj's or having sex with her because "he's a man" and "has needs". This asshole takes the ow to introduce her to his family as she was now his fiancée knowing heroine will be there but again he's doing the right thing because he's "an honourable man" sees the heroine and goes on and on internally about how much he loves her and he's in agony being with the ow whom he really can't stand....still doesn't stop him from having sex with her in the cabin though does it!! He was DISGUSTING and a WIMP, as for the heroine I didn't blame her for sleeping with om in fact I applauded her but why the hell did it have to be the same guy her best friend slept with later on? They found it hilarious that the om ended up being both their 2nd sexual partners. Well I can honestly say that that was nasty and in no way funny that two best friends shared their fluids with the same man!!! This was not a romance book but a book about a pathetic wimp and a pining doormat.

This author definitely won't be back on my good graces. I liked her WANTED series, but then, she decided to take a 180 change in her plots and write horrible characters. IMO This is another reason: Cheating, marriage because ow is pregnant and he is an honorable man ( what time is this? 1800s)? Loving one woman but stay married to ow because she’s unstable an pressure from her family. And in the end both pregnancies and the miscarriage were lies?? What kind of man is that? And what kind of romance is that?? Disgusting
The only thing that kept these 2 apart was Holden's wandering dick. This dickhead cheater and allround good for nothing piece of shit put the OW before the heroine again and again.
Heroine is a tragedy of pathetic. Complete and utter doormat with no backbone and zero self respect.
This one belongs in the misogynistic book section.
H/h are HS sweethearts. H/h go to different colleges. H breaks up w/ h on the phone after a ONS with OW (swears he was drugged) and OW says she is preggers and H plans to marry OW. OW miscarries. H.H stays w/ OW for 5yrs because H says she was unstable. h heartbroken and has a FWB relationship with H's best friend. Even though the OW is unstable and H insists he still loves h and can't stand the OW, H and OW live together and still have sex. OW gets preggers again and with pressure from her Dad, the marriage is back on. H takes OW to family reunion knowing h will be there. OW lies, threatens and generally behaves like a spoiled princess until her lies about pregnancies and miscarriages are revealed. Drama, drama drama. 2 stars.

Why do I do it to myself?? Kelly Elliott books used to be my guilty pleasure but I just find they get on my nerves now and honestly I find myself saying wtf to most of the book!!!!
I would love to have an author write a heroine that has the balls to move forward. Tired of reading about heroes treating the heroines so badly that they keep coming back for more. The reality is there are some mistakes that are so huge that they cannot be overlooked. Forgiveness may be offered but there would be no reconciliation. I want to read about a heroine with enough balls and self respect to move forward...to say you crushed me so badly I didn’t think I would ever be able to scrape myself off the bottom of your shoe, but you know what I did, I did it without you and now I have moved on because I am worth it...worth more than you ever gave me credit. Then give that girl a hero that will respect her and appreciate her because that is a reality. There are men in this world who do not cheat, who do talk with their partners before making these big decisions about their relationships.
WHEN I THINK THAT I WILL NOT FIND SOMETHING MORE DISGUSTING I FIND THAT SHIT! IS THIS AUTHOR REAL? !!! WHAT. A. JOKE.! Does spending on people who get paid to write fake reviews cover the costs of publishing such crap?
I found this listed in an old notebook under a hero married someone else list. I’m not a huge fan of this author’s writing style, but it was literally the only book I hadn’t checked off… so I couldn’t not read it. :) Joke was on me because the H didn’t even marry an OW… he was only engaged. 🤦♀️
The prologue opens with Emylie and Holden (deeply in love) getting ready to separate for college. The two have grown up/loved each other forever and planned to attend college together, but Holden received a football scholarship to play in Cally. Then, we immediately FFW 5-years later with the two broken up. We’re slowly filled in through the next chapters of what went wrong and where they are currently. Eventually, the two reunite and the rest is their bumpy road to HEA.
I didn’t find the content hard to accept. The writing style/characters are a bit juvenile/immature, so IMO, there wasn’t a serious tone to the book. The characters reactions/actions were illogical and unrealistic which killed any chance for serious feels. It may appeal to readers craving young-ish (early 20’s) soapy-smut/trashy entertainment, but I wouldn’t recommend to serious readers or readers concerned with safety.
My biggest issue was the messiness of the plot and the lack of explanation or a logical/realistic reason for the main conflicts. The book basically follows five people/two relationships. SPOILERS… In a nutshell, Holden, Em, Mason, and Becca all grew up together. H and E were madly in love and Mason was their best bud sidekick. Stuff happens, and when the book starts… Em loves Holden but has a FWB relationship with Mason. Holden loves Em but is engaged to Daphne. Mason secretly loves Becca but is having sex with Em. Recently divorced/single mom Becca secretly loves Mason, but he’s screwing her bestie that doesn’t seem to bother her at all….
Making things more complicated, the backstory provided for the separation was flimsy filled with holes. It was too long, made zero sense, and IMO made Holden look like an idiot because it was GLARINGLY obvious what was going on, and he was stupidly complacent. Daphne was batshit, but her meddling and manipulation wasn’t complicated or concealed. I do love a crazy OW, but I need her to be creative and deceptive to make her machinations believable. I want my H to be blind but not stupid. Holden was the later which didn’t work for me.
Bottom Line- I like this trope, (sometimes) but it takes some finesse to make it work. The author needs to balance the “mistake/fallout” with his love for the h. This was attempted but not executed effectively, so we’re left with actions that are supposed to support their epic love that fall flat because they either don’t make sense… or another action negates it. Basically, this was too drama driven, and I prefer things to be balanced with development and logic. For example, Holden feels honor bound to Daphne but loves Em. We’re told he pretty much hates Daphne and she’s portrayed as a giant bitch… BUT… to generate drama, he will occasionally do things that don’t support this (trying to make her happy) which throws doubt/shade on his epic love for Em.
Also, when the truth is finally revealed, and we should be proceeding to the grovel/make up part. The plot veers completely off the road to a new subplot with new characters. This was not only boring filler, but it also burned up page-time which made the “making up” part rushed. The last chapter FFW 13-months then there’s an epilogue 2-years later.
Safety- (SPOILERS) H slept with OW (suspects drugged) resulting in pregnancy. OW suffered miscarriage, but H stayed (OW fragile) we’re not provided with many details during this time only that they were rarely sexual and he always wore a condom. We're told they had sex once after returning home (seeing h again).
"I got into this mess because I didn’t wear a condom, twice. Each time I was wasted when I fucked her without one and each time she got pregnant. It was the only thing that kept a barrier between us, as fucked up as that sounded. Every time with Daphne felt like I was cheating on Emylie.
Want me to carry you, Daphne?” Daphne nodded her head and then laughed as I picked her up and carried her to the entrance. Stopping at the door, I slowly slid her down and gave her a kiss. Trying hard to make her happy.
"Maybe now she’ll stop sniffing around what’s mine.” My entire body went rigid. I’d never hated Daphne as much as I hated her right then. Leaning down, I pressed my lips against her ear. “I’m not yours. I never have been and never will be.”
Once Mason and I called it quits on what ever it was we had together, he started talking more to Becca.
"So you decided you’d stay with a woman you didn’t love while the woman you did love was barely making it.”
“I’ve always worn condoms. Even when she was on the pill, except for the night in the restaurant. It was unplanned and I didn’t have one. The other night at the cabin we got in a fight because I wanted to wear a condom and she said it was pointless because she was pregnant.” “Did you wear it anyway?” Becca asked. “Yeah and it caused a huge fight.”
The fact was he had asked her to marry him. He was trying to give their relationship a go and he brought her home for me to see. “You seemed to do fine before. You brought her home because you were marrying her. You worked at that relationship more than you gave ours a chance.”

~ 5 Made For You Stars ~
Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener on the other side….what happens when you look for something new and different just to find once you have it…..it’s all wrong????
Well that’s exactly the lesson Holden had to learn in Made For You.
Kelly Elliott has pushed my heart to the limit with this book. As usual I LOVED every word of this book and there is just something about a Kelly Elliott book that keeps bringing me back to her. This book was filled with so much drama and angst I couldn’t put it down!!! I couldn’t stop rooting for Holden and Emylie to get their HEA.
Made For You is Kelly’s latest standalone novel. It’s told in Dual POV and is a second chance love story. I loved that Kelly got back to her roots with Holden. She gave us the sweet and totally sexy cowboy. The only difference with Holden is that he isn’t sure that is the life he wants to live. So he makes one decision….that essentially changes his life and not for the better. The road to Holden and Emylie’s HEA is a long and bumpy one.
As we see with all Kelly Elliott’s books, the writing was effortless and the pace moved along at the perfect speed. Nothing was too dragged out but she didn’t rush anything either. She gave us a fun and entertaining storyline and characters you will definitely fall in love with and not just Holden and Emylie. The secondary characters were just as great as the main ones. I also loved that we get a story within a story in this book.
I would 100% recommend this book to all Kelly Elliott fans, but just be warned your heart will be put through the wringer on this one. If you haven’t read any of Kelly’s books before, Made For You would be a great place to start.
I LOVE Kelly Elliott books, I am not sure what was going on with this story but I was disappointed. Holden was not a very smart person, I can't believe he actually went to college to begin with. Any woman to find this guy attractive or boyfriend/husband material needs to get her head checked. Emylie's character seemed very weak and just down right sad.
My issue with this book that i had trouble getting past is the whole reason that he was with her in the first place. It doesnt make sense. Yes she was pregnant so I got that bit but after she miscarried he stayed with her for three years? Continued to have sex with her? Because he felt guilt? for three years? What a weak weak man.
The story was Extremely predictable but it was well written so i stuck with it, despite it's unbelievability, weak plot and weak male lead. The OW Confession was ridiculous and then the book just draggggged. Not even decent writing could save the book. Also the character development that started of strong actually after the 50% mark, got weaker as it went along. I didn't even know that was possible. I guess becaus their reactions and emotions were different and conflicting to where they appeared to be going. Overall disappointing and unrealistic.
I loved this book. KELLY Elliott has done it again with this second chance love story of Holden and Emylie. After a poor decision, their lives are changed forever. Holden is trying to do the right thing but unfortunately that means giving up his happiness. Emylie is trying to move on and pick up the pieces of her broken heart.
One of the things I loved most about this book is the underlying theme that true love always prevails. It was so easy for everyone to see that Emylie and Holden truly were made for each other. Through their trials and tribulations, were they able to find their way? You'll need to read and see.
In addition to a great plot filled with lots of laughs and OMG moments, the secondary characters were well developed and added many laughs. Another 5 star read from KELLY
Holden and Emylie were made for each other. Friends since kindergarten then later boyfriend and girlfriend - they knew they would spend the rest of their lives together. But then Holden got a scholarship to USC and their plans started to drift. Things were great between the two of them until one phone called changed everything.
Now years later Holden is back in Texas and Em has no clue who he is. She still sees the old Holden when she looks in his eyes but now he's in love with someone else. Or is he?
As the past comes to light these two need to decide whether the love that had for each other can get then through to a future together or will they end up separated once again, not being able to let go of the lies that surrounded them.
Not sure why this got so many negative reviews. People take this way to serious. It’s a freaking book! This book made me want to move South and get me a southern gentleman! Two people who are deeply in love and plant to be together forever. Go to separate collages and one night he makes a mistake and sleeps with someone so he breaks it off with the love of his life because he finds out the other girl is pregnant. Of course his love is broken and when he comes back into town to announce his engagement everything changes. Seeing his love and being home reminds him how much he misses everything. He never loved his now fiancé and when he finds out she lied to him damn! Flood gates are open. It’s a good book. Messed up lies and deceit. Love lost and won so check it out
Kelly Elliott has done it again, LOVE this read!!!!!! This is a second chance love story about a boy (Holden) who is trying to be a man and do the right thing but can't see what is and was always right in front of him...and a girl (Emylie) who loves said boy who ends up destroying her. The thing about this story I loved the most is beside the main characters the secondary characters bring such a great dynamic that evolves in an unlikely way but totally works. Another thing Kelly writes well are cold hearted female you'll cee you next tuesdays! Totally recommend, now what are you waiting for, #OneClick!!!
So is anybody going to mention the fact that the crazy actress basically rape Holden? No? Ok fine! Perhaps someone will see how much of a horrible proposal that was, Kelly Elliott is a great writer but that was one hell of a weird book. Can’t really say if I actually hate or love the book 3.5rate Why on the Goddess name will you fuck his best friend and why would her best friend just wait on the sideline until Mason was available. Honestly I don’t get the love for Holden, overall the guy was stupid, I would have send the Crazy fiancée to jail for attempted rape and paying officials to manipulate test results, her and her father both to jail and I would have send the videos to TMZ LOL.

Sometimes there's just a need for OTT drama. So much so this was a bit of a shit show but i really enjoyed it. It was so entertaining, so many eye roll moments. I wanted to smack Holden upside the head. I kept thinking no one is this stupid... Alas they really are but you know what i still loved it. And the OW drama 10/10. This be a crazy b!tch.
I was in need of some drama, angst and more drama and this just delivered for me. i got angry, teary, i laughed. it just was my current cup of tea.
Kelly does it again! I don't know how she keeps turning my world upside down with her amazing stories but she continues to do so, and I love it! This story wasn't all happy happy and lovie lovie. It was emotional. It was hard. It was deep. This book was hell on my emotions. At times I didn't know whether or not I wanted to cry or punch someone in the throat. WELL..... I did want to do a lot of throat punching. But it was soooo worth it.
Holden is freakin swoon worthy... When he finally gets his head out of his ass. Before then he was one I wanted to punch. I really wanted to shake some sense into him and scream WAKEEEEE UUUUPPPPP! And yes, I did yell at my kindle. Kelly has the ability to make me do that. But she always makes up for it. Always! Holden loves hard, and is one of the guys that no matter what always does what he thinks is right. Even though doing that really messes up his future with the woman he has always loved. The woman he was made for was the one he pushed away. Only when its almost too late does he realize whats really going on and tries to fix it. Will he be able to? Will he get his ONE back?
Emylie is a sweetie. Like legit sweetheart. Holden was her rock. He was he world until he wasn't anymore. Instead of coping and moving on she used her best friend as her coping mechanism. But it worked for both of them. Until that didn't work anymore either. It was time for her to move on and let things go. Especially with the situation that presented itself. She knew with out a doubt that what she was doing wasn't going to get her anywhere. She had to let go. Only when she did it didn't make her better. It made her realize what she wanted more than anything in the world... Holden. GAHHH! I wanted to hug her so bad!
This was a great freakin book. I wanted more and I wanted to scream and jump up and down as well. As usual Kelly takes you on one hell of a ride and by the end youre begging for more. I loved Holden and Emylie!!!
Two Lives promised to love each other till the end of time. That what Emylie and Holden' plans were. Go to College and to live a life together running the Ranch, Holden grew up on. That all changed when Holden got a full scholarship in CA and Emylie stayed in Texas. One night turned their world upside down. Emylie was devastated and didn't know how to go one, but Mason one of her best friends was there to pick up the pieces. After years of being away Holden returns and when he is back home he knows he can't let his Em go again. Follow their journey in finding the truth and seeing if they can pick up the broken pieces of Emylie's heart and can Holden gain her trust he broken years ago. Can these two that were make for each other find their way back together and get their Happy Ever After.
Kelly Elliott is truly a gifted writer. She has written so many books and I can saw with complete honesty that she has never disappointed me. Made for you was amazing. Holden and Emily met fell in love, he breaks her heart but they found thier way back to each other.. I truly hated Daphne, a true spoiled brat that meet her match in Holden. Yes it took him awhile to see he was being played. But when he was able to figure it out ( with a little help from his friends) He was able to FINALLY start to right his wrongs
This book was an emotional roller coaster ride. I was actually rooting for her to end up with the best friend Even though the ending wasn't what I wanted it to be, it was another great novel from Kelly Elliott! Well done!
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Yes Did this book have a cliffhanger? No Is this book part of a series? Nope Will you read more from this author? Most Definitely
I was pretty much done 15% into the book. We had a whiney cowardly H and an h that was in a fkbuddies with someone she knew her friend was into. I'd picked this for the potential angst, but it was really hard to dregde up any empathy for them. I went back to it when I wasn't sure what to read next but started skimming only to find at 45% I had lost the will to live. DNF for sure.
