Wildly entertaining! I laughed, I cried, I shook with fear – but could not put “TAKE ME HOME” down! 4½/5 Stars!
The message of this novella, “TAKE ME HOME,” is TRUTH: love freely given, unconditional and true is HOME. As with all her novels and novellas, author Summer Brooks has written a wonderfully charismatic and compelling character-driven story in “TAKE ME HOME.” It is easy to read and will leave readers with a smile on their faces! Brooks does an exemplary job of developing characters that are easy to love, empathize with or with whom readers can identify. True to that formula, Vin and Gina are amazing characters who are easy to root for and love. However, the are twists and turns in this plot that may keep readers on the edge of their seats, biting their nails, and hoping that promised HEA is real. It is, the promised HEA is wonderful, and getting there is well worth the price of this novella! “TAKE ME HOME” is perfect for the afternoon at the pool or trying to beat the heat with a quiet siesta this afternoon. While I was given an ARC copy of “TAKE ME HOME” to prepare this honest voluntary review, I plan to purchase a copy the moment it becomes available. I will put this novella in the FAVORITES collection, so I can read it again and again. Yes, “TAKE ME HOME” was that good! It is only getting 4½/5 stars because it is a novella and believe me when I say that is the ONLY reason that last ½ star is missing. If your old boyfriend came back to you would you give him a chance to reconnect? This is a short story about second chances. Vincent, a billionaire and CEO of his company, comes back home after 10 years. He decides to donate money to charities about town and arrives at a animal shelter to talk with it's owner when he runs into his old girlfriend, Gina. When he talks with Gina he finds out that the neighborhood now belongs to the Mafia and it's too late to help the shelter because one of the henchmen (Gabriele) is interested in Gina. Vincent asks Gina to a give him a chance and go on a date with him and also offers to protect Gina from Gabriele. Meanwhile he finds out that territory is divided by two cousins so he makes a deal with the other cousin. Can he win Gina back and defeat Gabriele who also wants Gina? I enjoyed this novella of two people finding themselves and reconnecting, and the romance between Vincent and Gina was steamy. The only negative is why Vincent dropped Gina in the first place is not truly explained only hinted through out the story and that he missed talking to her during college and wanted a future with her now, hence the 4 1/2 star mark. I volunteer to read and review this ARC.

Gina is a girl that does not have a lot of money and never has. Vincent comes from a wealthy family but has spent his life either acting/rebelling or super succeeding, desperately seeking his fathers love and attention. In high school Gina and Vin were long term boyfriend and girlfriend but Vin broke Gina’s heart after she stood by him through thick and thin. 10 years later they meet again, but Gina has caught the eye of a mafia guy and that makes their reunion more difficult considering Gina is still angry at Vin for breaking her heart. At this point I would tease what happens but I am not going to do that because the whole mafia part of the story did frustrate me a bit. While it worked for the whole protector aspect of the book the mafia part of the story was a joke, not even close to being believable and for me detracted from the story. Of course that doesn’t stop me from giving it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I loved Vin and Gina. They are great characters that I fully bought there love, because of that I recommend this one for your reading pleasure.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is a second chance romance between high school sweethearts Gina and Vincent. Gina and Vincent dated throughout high school when Gina was a shy girl and Vincent was the bad boy who liked to fight and cause trouble. Gina was heartbroken when Vincent broke up with her and when ten years later Vincent reappears in her life a wealthy businessman who wants to sponsor the animal shelter where she works, Gina knows she is still attracted to him. Vincent sees Gina and knows he wants her back. When Vincent learns the mafia is now in charge of the neighborhood where Gina works, he wants to buy the animal shelter so she will be safe. Unfortunately for Gina, she has caught the eye of Gabriel, the mobster and he refuses to accept she is not interested in her. Vincent wants to protect Gina and prove she can trust him again. I loved this story and thought Vincent and Gina really loved each other. I lived that Vincent wanted to win her trust back and he knew how good she was. Good one.

Oh my goodness!! This second chance at love, life and growing of their relationship was amazing. I felt so drawn to this book to the point I stayed up to just finish it.
Vincent and Gina's reuniting love story is amazing with a little action caused by the mafia that rekindled his love for her and also more of him realizing you don't know what you have until its gone kind of thing.
Gina is one tough cookie that is strong and fiercely independent that takes no crap from anyone even though she is scared as hell.
You have these moments were your thinking she is never going to tell him that she loves him, but then in comes his crappy dad as she puts him in place and she puts its out there like its never been absent from their relationship.
But reading it you will see some typo's and some sentences that don't make sense because its the wrong wording but its still well worth the read.

This one has a little bit of everything. Bad boy? Check. Billionaire? Check. Second change romance? Check. Curvy gal? Check. Mafia? Check.
Throw it all together and you could have a bit of a mess, but fortunately our author knows her craft and instead you end up with a delightful little romance story. Our characters are mature enough to learn from the past and honest enough to admit their feelings which manages to avoid the entire miscommunication trope that is so overused. Instead, it is a story about restoring trust, which is key to a healthy relationship.
The story and characters are well written with a plot that is easy to follow but includes enough intrigue and uncertainty to wonder how some of the issues will be resolved. But there really is never any doubt that our couple will end up with a well deserved HEA.
Highly recommend for a nice weekend read.

I enjoyed the sweet romance of this book.
Gina is a sweet woman, concerned with her neighborhood and the animal shelter where she works. In high school (about 10 years ago), she had a relationship with a rich bad boy, who eventually dumped her. After the mafia took over the neighborhood, she was pursued by one of the mafia. Vincent had made millions and wanted to give back through supporting local animal shelters. He appeared at Gina's shelter and was surprised to see her again. She was not so happy about it.
This begins a very sweet second chance romance. Most of the story I enjoyed quite a bit, but there were some inconsistencies that made me knock off a couple of stars. Otherwise, I enjoyed the read.

This is a great read by Summer. Gina and Vincent haven't seen each other in ten years since he broke her heart. Gina has become a strong, independent and feisty woman and she doesn't take crap from anyone. She has been working at a animal shelter and only cares about finding forever homes for them. When they come under new ownership, she catches the eye of one of them. However, this is not the attention she needs. When Vincent finds out, he is willing to do whatever it takes to keep Gina safe and also get a chance with the person he never forgot or stopped loving. This is a great second chance story with some suspense. The connection these two have never left and becomes stronger and their chemistry is explosive.

Vincent not only came from money but he has made billions in his own right and now he has decided to give back and he has chosen animal shelters as his charities of choice Mainly because the girl he loved and hurt when he left her after school always worked at animal shelters. Imagine his surprise when at one of the shelters he runs into Gina the one woman he has never forgotten, but as she is in danger do to the mafias influence in the town and th shelter she works at he knows he will have to do what he can to protect her. This alpha male isn't going to lose her a second time. This is a well written book where the emotion oozies of the page you are totally drawn into the world of Gina and Vincent.

A great second book, this is a second chance story.
Gina worked in a dog rescue shelter loved her work it didn’t pay much but she didn’t mind that she never had money so it didn’t make a difference. One day Maria her boss informed her the shelter was under new management. The mafia, they had a visit. 3 dangerous looking men appeared. Gabriele took a fancy to Gina, an unhealthy interest straight away. Gina was scared but didn’t show it.
Then out of nowhere Vincent shows up looking to help local rescue shelter, to give something back. He is shocked to see Gina. They dated back in school but Vincent had hurt her.
This is a great story with loads of drama.

BREAKING BAD!!!
Talk about tangling with the wrong person. This is one hot number. Summer just keeps on bringing it. The characters are well developed and believable. Their personalities are unique with qualities and traits that balance out perfectly. The scenes are so graphically detailed it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. Twists and turns along with all the suspense and danger keeps you on the edge of your seat. A full scope of emotions that you feel right along with the characters. Summer did an incredible job bringing this read together beautifully. Great job Summer, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.

A great short second chance romance that includes danger, anticipation, love, hot chemistry, angst and romance. There is danger, fight scences, hot steamy sex, mafia, oassion and love. Gina working in an animal shelter just finds out the mafia has moved in one of the head guys wants her. Vin rebuilding and supporting animal shelters walks in and is surprised to see Gina who has still be on his mind and in his heart. When she come to him scared he will protect her and try and win her back. A wonderful story of rebuilding trust in a great intriguing plot. A must read.

I was not expecting that. Spitfire Gina has grit, determination and enough love to go around. Billionaire Vincent has carried a torch for Gina since high school. When they meet up at a local animal shelter after years of being apart, it is all he can do to get her to fall in love with him again. It is getting harder for me to continue reading books because I usually know how the story unfolds and how it is going to end, so it is books like this one that can surprise me, make me cry and still have an HEA that will keep me reading books. Here is hoping there are more books like this one out there.

A second chance love story with a side order of Mafia!
I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
This jumps straight into the action on page two and never really lets up. You're willing so hard for Vin and Gina to make it work the second time round, but then Summer adds in the extra storyline of the Mafia, danger, and general 'badiness'! This is a nice short story, just be prepared to commit to reading the whole thing in one go as you won't be able to put it down!

A great read, they loved each other years ago but he dumped her & moved on. She stayed true to herself & was a feisty, courageous woman whilst he went from a brat to a billionaire & he felt bad about the way he treated her & sought her out many years later. There was tension, she didn't want to let him in but he proved to her time & time again that he was worthy of her & she brought out the best in him. Great story, great sexual chemistry & who doesn't love a love lost & found & beyond that, cherished. I received an ARC & this is my honest voluntary review

Summer Brooks has written another fantastic book with an amazing storyline and wonderful characters that will be lightning your reader on fire with their sexual chemistry.
Vincent hasnt gotten over his highschool sweetheart even after breaking up with her 10 years ago. Now that he's found Gina again he's not letting her go.
Gina cant bring herself to trust Vincent but finds herself needing his help after the new mafia boss shows interest on her.

This is a wonderful romance about two people who were high school sweethearts that didn’t make it past high school. Ten years later when
Vincent had built a billion dollar company and was looking for a way to give back to the community he found Gina working in an animal shelter that he wanted to help. I rated this book a 5 because the plot flowed smoothly. Gina and Vincent were involved in high school and then Vincent disappeared leaving Gina heartbroken. Years later he's back wanting a second chance. Also, there's a mafia guy that thinks the world owes him a living and he's set his eyes on Gina too. This is a short sexy read with romance and action. I would recommend it to anyone over 18. I received this book free as an ARC in exchange for an honest review

I love a good ”bad boy” and a strong female counterpart, which this book definitely delivered.

This is a well written book with an interesting story line. The characters are strong and well developed and the story moves quickly and smoothly. It's a second chance romance that had me hooked from start to finish. I enjoyed reading Gina and Vincent's story and would recommend this book.

I enjoyed the characters of the book - they were well written and the chemistry between them was off the charts. My biggest complaint was the mafia angle - as bad guys these were not that believable but that being said the story itself held my interest and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a light and entertaining weekend read.

Take Me Home is book one in the series (Hard Protector/ Take Me/ Second Chances) ok so I’m not to sure what the series is called but it’s connected to one of these titles and written by author Summer Brooks. This is a sweet sassy bit of drama that will make your toes curl, have you shaking your head with a laugh or two. Take Me Home, has just enough of it all to be absolutely deliciously awesome!!
