Branch Bronson is the richest country star in history. When his manager betrays him, he needs to get away and goes where no one will recognize him—rural Maine. Trouble is, he didn't check the weather report first.Daisy Adams is a starving poet embarrassed to be living with her parents. When she picks up a hitchhiker in the blizzard, she has no idea who climbs into her car. It's a good thing, because she can't stand country music.
The blizzard turns into an ice storm, trapping the two artists together in Daisy's parents' small house. Just when Daisy admits she has feelings for the handsome stranger, she learns he might not be who she thinks he is.
Branch is a super famous country singer trying to escape his busy lifestyle. So when he ends up in a blizzard in Maine, rescued by a local woman Daisy, he decides to tell her his name is Bill. Lucky for him, Daisy has no idea who he is as she doesnt listen to country music, or any music really. Daisy is a poet living at home in her parents basement. Could something heat up between them in the cold winter blizzard that knocks the power out for a few days, leaving them stuck beneath the same roof with her parents? Penelope does a great job of mixing some humor in with her love story. I think that Daisy's parents are hilarious, at times practically throwing them together. Daisy is a strong-willed, stubborn and articulate woman who has a very idiotic boyfriend who is also a poet. We can sense the feelings that Branch, Bill, and Daisy have together through her writing. They are silly, funny, sarcastic and sometimes just plain mean to each other. Was a really good quick pick up read.
Like “The Billionaire’s Secret Shoes,” I loved this 3rd book of the Clean Billionaire Romance series. Ms. Spark writes clean, comfortable, sweet romances. It appears all the books in this series are stand-alone. A highlight for me was the kitten’s adoption of the hero as its hero. This was a delightful, fun, satisfying read.
I'm am thoroughly enjoying this series by Penelope Spark. Each book is a stand-alone story. In the newest one, we meet country singer, Branch, who ends up stranded in a Maine blizzard. He finds that he likes the simple life and enjoys the break from his crazy lifestyle.
These are the types of books I love picking up and reading during a quiet afternoon. They are short enough to be read in one sitting. The story line is sweet, fantastical, yes, but that's why most pick up stories like this. We enjoy a little escape every one in a while.
My favorite part of the books is the epilogue. Then I don't have to wonder what happens to the characters after the story ends. I'm not the only one that does that right?
Imagine just trying to escape from a chaotic life for a while to just think. That’s what country music singer Branch was trying to so when he gets stranded in a blizzard in Maine. His savior is self proclaimed country music hater, Daisy. Daisy is an aspiring poet and is hoping that her bf will pass on her book of poems to a publisher...and she still lives with her parents. The family puts up Branch for the duration of the storm...except they, well at least Daisy, believes that he’s a shoe salesman from Oklahoma. Branch enjoys his respite with the family being just an ordinary guy...until his secret is spilled. Will Branch and Daisy get their HEA? Cute story with a rambunctious dog named Reba and a rescued kitten, appropriately named Blizzard.
I have not read anything by Penelope Spark before. This was a lovely short read that was well written with no typing errors etc. The characters in the book were endearing with the exception of the jealous, spiteful sister who needed a good 'spanking'. Bill/Branch was absolutely lovely with no 'airs' at all and Daisy was a very lucky girl to live the chosen life she lived. They were a perfect match and deserved their happy ending, the epilogue was a nice finishing touch. For a story with a warm ahhh! feeling I thoroughly recommend this book. I will be definitely be looking for other books by this author.
I love the ending and how Stark wrapped it up but it was slow. I should have gotten through it a lot faster but I kept putting it down. There were a few typos as well which I found ironic with the character Daisy being a poet and mocking country music. Truthfully, that part where she tries to explain why she doesn't like country music anymore didn't make sense. I was expecting something having to do with a rejection letter from Branch or her current bf Gregory making fun of her for liking country music. Falling out of love with country music just wasn't enough.
I enjoyed the characters of Branch, Clare and Ducky, I felt like Daisy and her sister lacked a little development. Daisy seems a little naive while also claiming to be a woman's right kind of person. This was a sweet, clean story and it had some fun spots. I enjoyed this book but not as much as the others in the series.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.
I started reading and kept reading I got lost in the story like I was there. I even could hear it snowing and icing out .this is such a sweet romantic dream like novel that I’m sure every girl has dreamed of one time or another . I hope everyone reads this it makes me happy and energetic like ,awesome novel thank you
There were some minor spelling mistakes, but the story itself is so adorable. I really loved reading it and look forward to reading another one of her books. I don’t think an audience should be picky about stupid stuff like spelling errors or slight grammar mistakes. Just enjoy the story! And this one I enjoyed!
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobooks of this title. She saved a stranger, her family took him in. He was incognito and originally didn't believe it would be longer than the first night. Mother Nature had other plans. However, not all went well, and the original lie causes strife. He did the only thing he knew to make better.
...but there were some times that a few people got on my last nerve. It's a light and easy read that follows a nice pattern. You knew how it would end but the gentle journey is a nice one.
Wonderful clean romance. I couldn't go to bed until I finished it. Sometimes fame and fortune carry a price. Branch just needed a little space. He found more than he had bargained for.
What an awesome and very sweet romance. I love the down to earth family, even the bratty big sister. The story was so grounded and that made it so believable, just a sweet romance.
