He could be her Mr. Right. Only she knows she’s his Ms Wrong.
No one in Sunset Point guesses the secret heartbreak newcomer Claire Robinson hides behind her snarky humor. Including local carpenter and all-round good guy Ryan Connor, who seems to think she’s “the One”.
Sure, he’s handsome, kind, and her students in the one-room elementary school light up brighter than the classroom Christmas tree when he’s around. Everyone loves Ryan. But he wants a big family, something she can’t give him. Her prickly attitude should make him forget her.
Problem is, both God and Ryan seem to have other plans!

Autumn Macarthur is an Australian writer of inspirational romance living near London with her very English husband and six spoiled cats. She loves reading, cooking, gardening, and writing deeply emotional stories to make you smile and remind you how big and wide and deep God's love and forgiveness can be.
She tends to talk a little too much, laugh a little too loud, and eat a little more than maybe she should. She's thankful to be blessed with some good friends and a very patient husband. Most of all, she's eternally grateful for God's great love and mercy.
When she's not writing or talking to her strawberry plants and cherry blossoms, she can be found blogging at www.faithhopeandheartwarming.com or on Substack.
She'd love to hear from you!

Midnight Clear by Autumn Macarthur is the most delightful contemporary Christian romance. It is the third book in the Huckleberry Lake series. It will warm your heart whilst simultaneously tugging at your heartstrings. You will be smiling one minute and wiping tears the next. This story is one of great joy and even greater pain. The reader is drawn into the story from the start. From teasers we know something truly awful happened but we question what, why and when. The story is an exploration of grief. Grief will either draw us to or from God. One character presses into God, they "need to lean on God's support harder than usual for a while." This character chooses to trust God in the midst of pain. "He trusted the Lord planned for his good, no matter what." In contrast, another character pulls away from God, preferring in their grief to vent their anger on God and others. In spite of the anger, the character has been praying but "keeping on praying when all... prayers went unanswered felt more and more pointless." It feels like prayers are hitting a brick wall and every request is met with silence. God's silence never equates to absence or inactivity. However when our pain is all we see, we edge God out of the picture. We think because we do not see Him, He does not see or care for us. God waits for us to stop pulling from Him and to return to Him and trust Him. The novel is about persistent love - both of God and of people. Love as portrayed in the novel, has all the qualities displayed in 1 Corinthians:13. A wonderful air of warmth and friendship pervades the whole novel. I adored it. I have yet to meet a book by Autumn Macarthur that I didn't like. They are all wonderful but don't take my word for it - try Autumn Macarthur's books for yourself. I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
This is a sweet holiday story that will warm your heart. It has wonderful characters and delightful dialogue. I truly enjoyed it because I’ve worked in a school setting. I loved the whole small-town feel of this story. How everyone is connected to everyone, and how they all want to be matchmakers. Claire doesn’t want to be matched. She just wants to live her life alone. However, the whole town seems to think Ryan is the match for her and they put them together for every event. Well, they are the only single people in town, so it does seem to happen often. I loved how Autumn Macarthur wrote a story that is fun, delightful, and yet touching. It brings assurance of how God can change hearts and bless lives. She shares how through God’s love and grace we can overcome obstacles. Autumn Macarthur does a wonderful job of weaving God’s truth in such a way it isn’t fake, it’s real. This book might also get you in the holiday spirit. I highly recommend you check it out! I was given this book by the publisher which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Loved this book! Ryan is in love with Claire. He's never been on a date with her, she acts like he's not there. Even if they're paired together for things by their friends, she doesn't warm to him. Or, so he thinks. Claire is afraid to fall for Ryan. She's been through so much that she's not dealt with, and blames for God for everything. She's so angry at Him, she can't get past her feelings and the past. When she finally does, she and Ryan can finally be together. This is a wonderful story of accepting that bad things happen to good people, and just because things don't work out the way we want them to, God can still bring good from the bad.
I received a complimentary copy of this set, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
Spoiler alert! This one will tug at your heartstrings! It’s a story of love, patience, and incredible insight into a woman’s pain following a horrible accident. Though it’s fiction, it demonstrates the importance of trusting God and His plan, even in the midst of our pain, anger and grief, even and especially when, His plan doesn’t look like what we envisioned. The story was entertaining and well written and the message life changing.
I have challenged myself to read at least one book from all 50 states this year. I chose this book for my IDAHO book. It is a sweet, clean romance with Christian threads. The female character has to work thru some tragic things from her past before she can love again. There is a happy ending and there is an epilogue to tell you what is happening in the future. I love when the author includes an epilogue !!
Inspiring romances that blend real life issues with hope and love. Autumn Macarthur weaves a descriptive small town setting (Huckleberry Lake, Idaho) with believable characters, real life conflicts, and satisfactory resolution. Book 3: Midnight Clear has a theme that love conquers all. Originally published in a boxed set with a variety of authors.
Ryan is such a sweet guy. I liked the little we got to know of him in Calm and Bright. I'm glad he got his own story. He really cares about people and loves helping them, but I also loved his faith in God. Claire is also wonderful, but she has a lot of hurt. I really felt for her and am amazed at all she did. I would have been a mess. This is a beautiful story about love and trust in God and man.
A story of true faith. Even with a loss and sorrow most of us will never know, stumbling almost blindly through the pain, a path to happiness came be found no matter how impossible it may seem. I really enjoyed this book, it's location, the characters, as well as the writing, kept me interested from beginning to the end.
Claire Robinson and Ryan Connor are perfect for each other. After all every one has said so, and they're trying hard to set them up. Claire the local school teacher has a secret and fells she can never marry. Ryan recently has moved back to town. Ryan's father passed away and he has returned home to help his mom.
Wow! This book is such an amazing example of how the Lord can heal a person no matter how much he or she has lost. Praise God! I think everyone should read this awesome Christmas story. Very well done!
Sure a tender and touching book. Sweet Claire has suffered so much and the only man she can love wants something she Cannot give him. Read this beautiful and tender story and find that love can flourish when you go back into Gods arm.
Thank you Autumn for such an inspiring book. A story of tragedy that's almost beyond bearing for 5years. Along comes a true friend who is falling in love, patient, kind and concerned who will do anything to help. God spoke to me through this amazing book. Don't fight God.
What a blessed work of Christian fiction. It's a very tender story of getting over the hurt and going forward with the love of the Lord. I highly recommend it and you won't be disappointed.
God does answer prayers, but it may take us time to really understand and recognize His answer!
I like the way the tagic of ones life can be turned around to allow a new beginning to come to one's life! The use of scriptures was a wonderful witness.
Sweet story with lots of back and forth tension between two people that just need to be honest with one another. That’s what happens when we assume things instead of communicating. I have loved the close-knit little community of Huckleberry Lake.
I've really enjoyed this series and the characters of Huckleberry Lake. I loved Ryan and Claire's story. Claire had much to overcome to accept Ryan in her life. It's always good to watch God work in the characters lives. A really great read.
What a great hoot this book is. I absolutely loved the interaction between Ryan and Claire. Well written and engaging from the beginning. Highly recommend.
