This book is designed as a handbook for students, to be used with short outline studies of Paul's life. It is called a harmony because Goodwin has endeavored to blend the history of Paul's life as given in the Acts of the Apostles with selections from the Pauline Epistles. Luke's history of Paul's life is given as a basis and is printed in full. Passages from Paul's letters are treated as parallel or supplementary to the Acts. The harmony intends to treat only the biography of Paul, the dogmatic and ethical portions of his writings are generally omitted.
A good handbook on a chronological interpretation on the life of Paul from Acts that includes selections of his epistles interspersed where "necessary to fill out the incomplete record in the Acts." Goodwin offers some excellent notes with his Harmony.
A great read for anyone wanting to get an idea of Paul's life in chronologically and "insights into his personal life and character," which Goodwin's notes concisely provide.
A useful book for the study of the life of the apostle paul where scriptures (acts with the different epistles) are laid side by side, organised chronologically to present a harmonious narrative on the life of this disciple of Christ who wrote nearly half of the New Testament.
