Same hunt, different bride, a whole new story. And, of course, more of those Abominable, bride-snatching Lo denaii vying for mates. Rosalinda was all geared up for a winter wonderland vacation, her car loaded up with supplies, a cozy cabin set back in the woods, just her, mother nature, and piles of that fluffy white stuff tumbling around her, as far as the eye could see. It didn't get any better than that. Or so she'd thought...
Nothing seems to want to work, no phone, no internet, a cabin that needs more than a bit of TLC, and a harsh storm looks to be blowing in. In no time she'll be snowed in, forced to wait out the storm before she can escape. Rosa begins to wonder if things could get any worse. And then they do.
The portal has opened, and it's time. The Lo denaii males are more than eager to join the hunt. Many have waited years for this opportunity, only so many are allowed to engage in the hunt.
Tall, snarling, and fluffy furred,a beast man on the hunt is looking for a bride. When he comes across the dark haired woman all by her lonesome, struggling in the snow, one whiff of her sweet scent and he knows. No other was to be his. The only thoughts on his mind? Take. Protect. MINE.
This is the second installment in the Brides of the Hunt series, and best read after The Bridal Hunt.
This book contains steamy romance, violence, foul language, beasties raring for brides, feisty women, a crap-ton of that cold, fluffy white stuff, nerdy references(because awesomesauce), slang, and crude humor.
This is a very involved and surprisingly nuanced book. Some parts were hard to read though. But in true Jeanette Lynn fashion, it ended with a happy ending and babies!!!
Rosalinda is kidnapped from her 'snow' vacation by Tokre, a deaf white-furred beast man and is brought to the world of the Lo Tanerii. There she meets and becomes mates to Zhuii and Noyel both very unique alien men.
I had a very mixed reaction to this book.
@ Chapter 16 I was feeling a whole different type of way and didn't think I could finish. Read with a grain of salt lol
This book was good. This author is one who tends to handle the multiple partner relationships really well. All of our heroes in this book were special and she keeps you guessing a little bit with who the mates will be. Our heroine was strong but still a little goofy and socially awkward, these traits were balanced well. And while there is plenty of romance and not times in this book there's also some action and plenty of humor. There were a few times I almost bust a gut laughing. The only real draw back here was how to me there was a lot of stream of consciousness type of writting/inner dialogue and done to me it made things a bit muddled or confusing. But overall a good book and the HEA at the end was so freaking cute and heart warming, I didn't mind that one real drawback. Would recommend.
I just could NOT stand Rosalinda. Letting someone almost rape you, then defend him from people who care about you and want to help you?? What kind of victim mentality is that book advertising??? And honestly the 'bad male' Ruke? He actually was a nice guy in my opinion. Is it such a strange thing that when he smells blood and sees the bruises he wan't to take Rose away from the abuse???!!! I added 1 * for Zhuii and Noyel though... loved them but I just don't see how they could fall for such a whiny, stupid girl...not to mention her rants about cannibalism, pincer aliens etc bleh!
I really don’t know what happened with this book. I really really regret I bought this one. I loved the first book in this series so much, it was probably my favorite book by this author, Just Her Luck was great too. However in this book the heroin was just lame. So whiney and annoying for 80% of the book that it was basically unreadable. The woman was weak and yes made of glass mentally. I seriously wonder what happened did someone else write this, the writing felt rough, disjointed and unrefined. The beast speak is also just used too much in this book. Reading broken English sentences for the majority of the book is just lame and incredibly hard to follow with joy. The sex scenes weren’t great either. However the next book in the series might be promising, if it will be about the woman who arrives at the end of this book.
I loved the first book in the series so much! I quickly bought this one and started reading it immediately. What a garbled mess, the first few pages were so drawn out and difficult, it made the protagonist extremely unlikable in every way. I keep on trying to read it. Internal monologue with nothing but slang while conversations are happening, make the book a very difficult read for me. It does not flow smoothly in to the story, instead it creates awkward, uncomfortable moments of trying to figure out what the characters are even doing. Giving the 1 star rating was incredibly difficult for me, however I feel the book is unreadable in it's current state. I sincerely hope that it gets a strong editor and a second edition release that makes it as strong and truly enjoyable as the 1st book.
I really enjoyed the Bridal Hunt book, and I wanted to like Bride of Glass because I love the premise. The heroes in this book excited me, but like other reviewers, I got lost in the narrative and couldn't understand what was going on. The plot and the romance were lost under a bog of incomprehensible internal dialogue. This book was a serious struggle to read. Jeanette Lynn's rambling style can be fun, but it was too much in this book. If you're on the fence about giving this a try, like I was, and you did enjoy Bridal Hunt and wanted more, sadly, I cannot recommend this one. I hope Lynn does more in this world but that the next book makes more sense.
1.5 stars because the general idea behind it was good if the content and delivery wasn’t and I liked the first book.
I read the first one. I read the reviews for the second one. I was forewarned. The reviews on goodreads are inflated compared to amazon. I am wondering if they read the same story. I am not that picky...
I have book OCD, where not only do I feel the need to finish the book I am reading, but also the series. I DNF only the most tedious of books. If I DNF a book or series, it is justified.
The warnings for this book were: 1) an extremely annoying and deranged (not the good way) FMC that you want to kill. She’s a very, very sick female. Her inner and outer dialog ruined almost every page of the book. She is not relatable to anyone I have met...ever. She has a tacky BFF that seems to think she’s getting the next installment in this series. If so, there’s no fixing this mess. 2) GROSS, nasty, overly done and unnecessary descriptions of bodily sounds and excretions. Some of these sounds are NOT even possible in the context provided. I would describe, but I’m trying to keep down my lunch. I do mean every page seemed to have at least one unnecessarily disgusting description. Perhaps a few pages did not?
Warnings 1 & 2 were accurate.
It was so much. Too much. Most importantly, it had no entertainment value, it greatly detracted from the story, and just because it makes the reader “feel” something, it does not make it art.
Why did I read it anyway? Well...I have read bad reviews before and found that they were overkill, or at least my opinion differed or I had different tolerance levels, etc. I also read a few other books by the author and couldn’t imagine it being “that bad”. Upon realizing the reviews were accurate, a combination of book OCD and rubbernecking/couldn’t look away from the horror in front of me/morbid curiosity??? made me do it (finish the book, that is) ugh.
I do like this author. She has some positives. But this one is really not a high point. Give the author a chance, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PARTICULAR BOOK. Please take the reviews seriously with this book.
Dear author, if you read this, I apologize for being harsh, but maybe it and all the other reviews will help you understand your readers and keep them. I like the abominable snow men harem idea but this book and any containing the BFF of the FMC are not flattering. If you continue the series, you might want to pick up what was good with the first book and forget the second ever happened 😬
Rosalinda isn't the bravest person. But, house sitting a nice snowy cabin seems like it shouldn't be too much, right? A snowman with a rather prominent carrot, and a few pictures for her cousin to laugh at and she's settling in. Until the big bear runs into the yard. And then there's another roar, and this one doesn't belong to any bear. Suddenly, she's in a new beastie world with her fuzzy kidnapper who doesn't seem to be listening to a word she says.
Spoilers ahead. Ms Lynn has a way with humor. This second foray into the lo denaii world is just as hilarious as the first. Rosie, Rosie-lindy, Lindy, is dragged through the portal by 1 crazy beast, only to be snatched by a 2nd, rescued by a 3rd and the 4th is claiming he's a healer. Now, she only winds up keeping 3 of them, the 1 remains on her poop list. Permanently lol. Some of this one was a little more uncomfortable than the first. Rosie isn't a scrapper like Meanie/Mina was. She's more fragile physically, too. But, it is word for word as zany as the original. Mate 1 takes some adjusting to, he's got a physical issue that makes learning his human mate difficult. Mate 2 is a very different kind of beastie. In more ways than 1, but he's an adorable sweetie who loves a good book. Mate 3 is a prank pulling mess. And while we don't see much of Meanie in this sequel, we get to see a different side of Dorothy than we did in book 1. One thing: Kehkoh became Kehko, and some homonym interchanges happened. But, otherwise a proper sequel with no lagging.
This was a gripping story, but I wasn't as hooked on this one as book 1 in this series.
I loved the variance and diversity of the male characters in this story, but at times I found Rosalinda to be lacking. I eagerly awaited and read this story, but it didn't quite hold the charm and intensity of The Bridal Hunt.
However, that being said, I did love the consistency of the world that the author created and how it worked as alongside the timeline of book one. The author continues to develop and build on this world in a way that repeatedly draws me into it.
No spoilers, but I am very interested in some of the side-characters from this one and would love to see another story built in this world.
I have struggled with this one, I loved Bridal Hunt its one of my favorite books by Jeanette Lynn, but this one I have put it down and restarted it 6 times, I didn't like the lead female so that was strike one, strike two was it was nearly impossible to follow the narrative coming out of her mouth, it was difficult to follow and that put me right off, I also didn't like the fact that the first thing this woman did was to have sex. As far as she knew up till that point he was a monster. I am sad about my review because I truly adore this author and have all her books the anticipation for this one nearly grew fever pitch for me. Alas it fell at the gate.
So, while there are plenty of moments to live in this story, there are plenty of cringe worthy moments as well. Rosalinda is insecure, rash, awkward and a little spastic. She hasn't been my favourite character in this series so far, but the book overall wasn't that bad. I think it's awesome that her mates are the outcasts in a way, the ones seem as broken. This is where the book has it right, they find out that they do not need anyone's approval to be confident and accepted.
Omg this was do fun. I laughed so much. The main character has such a fun inner monologue. She is that loving socially awkward geek we all know one and love them . Her mates are all uniquely different and beautiful. The phrase 'not less but just different '' definitely fits well here. The strength and indomitable spirit these individual characters have is so wonderful. Definitely a buyer
I first want to say why I dropped a star, because I really loved this book. But the opening scene dragged for me, it was sort of rambly and drawn out and unnecessary I thought. I just wanted to get to the meat of the story. And there were a couple more times in the book that had this same feel, rambly and wordy and unnecessary conversation. I also thought Rosalinda was a bit of an overreactor about weird things. She would get scared and make something up that was completely ridiculous in her head and start wigging out about whatever she made up. I thought it felt contrived, like she was trying to be cute. It annoyed me. BUT that was only a few spots.
I read the first book and it has always stuck with me because it was so different from anything I had read at the time. I've been meaning to go back and reread it when I saw the sequel was published. I really enjoyed this book, as much if not more than the first book.
I loved all the guys. She does a great job of giving them all completely different personalities, and makes you fall in love with each of them for different reasons.
I did end up feeling bad for Rek. I felt as though he were misunderstood. He was a little forceful and maybe went about things the wrong way, but he went above and beyond to try and prove his worth. He went and found her cousin and brought her over for her! Her own mates didn't even think to do that! I felt so bad for him in the end because he was painted as the villain, but he didn't seem bad to me, again, just misunderstood.
I absolutely loved Tokre. At first I was like whats the deal with this guy? But then when I found out what his deal was I wanted to crawl into the book and love him myself!
This was a long book, but I liked it that way. I liked that it just went at a normal pace and didn't feel rushed. Each guy got his time to shine and it felt natural. I was able to bask in this story for quite a while, and when it ended I was still sad because I loved where it ended up and I was ready to have more glimpses of their future.
One thing I found a little strange is the babies at the end. This is the second book I have read by this author where the main character is pregnant by multiple mates at the same time. But this time she took it a step further and their DNA mixed? Somehow? So the babies were combinations of two dads? It was a little weird. But I keep telling myself, I'm reading about a woman who was stole by an abominable snowman and taken through portal to another dimension where she takes 3 mates without too many reservations. And the part that bothers me is the improbability of the baby gene splicing? Its a happy ending for all, thats good, I need to just accept it. But I can't help but wonder about the science behind it. Because as a human wouldn't all the same laws apply? How can more than one sperm fertilize an egg if the egg hardens the moment the sperm hits home? And is she sending down 2 eggs at a time naturally? Or does her beasties sperm activate something in her reproductive system that sends multiple eggs down the fallopian tubes? I only ask this because of the other books I have read by her, who have similar outcomes. Whatever, I still loved the story, and I loved that they all got their happy endings so I'm not really questioning it. Its just things I think about.
This was an okay read. It definitely didn't have as much smut as the first one which was kinda nice. There was more of character story of how the female lead and her mates actually grow in their relationship. Whereas, in the first one I feel like I didn't see that as much because it was just covered in smut. I actually enjoyed finding out Tokre was deaf, did not expect that at all. The characters in this felt like they had more to themselves. More background, meeting other family members, learning more about the beast world. I will say, I think it was too long. There were a lot of scenes where they just went on and on and I had to drag my feet through them. The main character's inner dialogue was a bit much in a lot of cases. I understand it's part of her character, but there's a point where it becomes too much. I think it's bad to say that I liked her mates more than her actual self. For how much this book is not my favorite, nor will ever be, I grew to absolutely adore Zhuii. He became my favorite character. He's sooo sweet and cute. His identity of being Zhubeast and people not accepting him for that difference was sooo sad. Because he believed them. That he was a monster, not capable of love. Oh, my heart. Love Zhuii.

So… this book was a back n forth yo-yo for me. Generally it’s easy for me to decide whether I’m into a book or not by the first few chapters, not so with this book. I found Rosalinda to be extremely annoying. She just seemed so overboard in her jumbled thoughts, verbal vomit and what seemed like excessive overreactions to every little thing, but… what made me decide to keep reading, was that some of the stuff she said was really funny and I enjoy a good laugh, so I decided to forge onward. And I’m glad I did! When I ended reading the book, I still found her to be annoyingly overboard in so many ways, but I really liked her trio of mates! I liked how different and special each one was in his own way. And the story was interesting. So, I’m not saying it was a bad book, just that for me, the verbiage from Rosalinda was too much non-stop crazy. But hey, if you like a female who can’t control what she says and obsessively worries about every little thing, then this book is definitely for you!
This is the second novel of this series I’ve read. I liked the premise, so I decided to read another. In the first the FMC is head strong, but honestly kind of mean and not really relatable. This FMC seemed like she would be more relatable as a plus sized nerdy gal myself. But English is my native language and I don’t get half the things she “says” let alone how she thinks the males in the stories who barely speak English and are from a different world have any way of understanding her. It’s literally gibberish half the time. I know it’s meant to be comedic, but it’s jarring and annoying more than anything. It seals the deal on not reading the fourth and fifth stories for sure because that FMC, introduced in this book is even worse. She’s a combination of the mean one from the first book and the nutsy “awkward” one in this story. The male characters are the redeeming parts in these stories and some of them aren’t that great either…
I can not say this enough I love this author and her amazing character building! We’re back! To the crazy furry world of lo denaii! I have to say I really hope we get a series out of her not just another book. I am so happy in this world and have learned new things to add to my picture of this dimension. Here we have Rosie-Lindys (as a big blue fluff head calls her) kidnapped and taken to a world not her own. Unlike the first book she not as brave and out right crazy as our leading lady. She takes a less aggressive path and decides to take her mate and be content until she can find a way how. But of course these ice men aren’t gonna let that happen. In the end she finds everything she could want and love right where she’s at. Could not have giggle laughed anymore. So happy to have read this book!
When Rosalinda traded her ski trip to the handsome neighbor she has been crushing for a stay at his aunties mountain cabin, she was hoping she could get him to stay with her, not be kidnapped by a snow beastie. I gloved this book. Zhuii is the best character and super original, he is by far my favorite out of both books. Rosalinda is spunky and fiesty, so her character is quite funny at times especially some of her inner monologues. Bride of Glass has many places that made me laugh. It has some steamy sex scenes that also turn comical, I mean Rosa talking about a broken vagina almost had me in tears. The snow beasties in this book are what I would picture as a Yeti, but not really, is just the closest thing I can think of, I think that's very original. This is book 2, but can be read as a stand alone. I believe Ms. Lynn has put done herself with this one. RECOMMENDED
The last half of the book was good. The first part was really hard to read. The main character would have odd thoughts that trailed on and on. It felt like scenes went on forever and I had a hard time understanding what was going on. At about 3/4ths the way through it changed. It started to flow better and I really started to enjoy it. I loved the first book and I at least wanted to get through this one. I took a long time getting through this book, it was just hard to stay invested until half way.
I would recommend the book if you liked the first one. The last half was nice. I'll definitely read the next one if she writes one
So I don’t write reviews normally, but sometimes that certain book or author blows me away. I absolutely love Jeanette Lynn literally every book I’ve read of hers so far just adore it especially this book. The fact that she is so far out of the box with her ideas you would think it would be crap or creepy . It’s not its amazing I like the fact it’s not the same cookie cutter book that’s out there. I mean even jingle belled and mistletoe was amazing of the second book was awesome. I guess long story short she’s amazing writer read her books.
The main character got on my nerves during the first couple chapters of this book. I was shocked because I normally love all of Jeanettes characters immediately. I’m so glad I stuck with it because it was a fabulous fun ride. You can’t go wrong with a Jeanette Lynn book if you need a laugh or hundreds.
I really love this series but I wasn’t a fan of the choice behavior of the lead female. Towards the end her odd behavior changed and she became likable but for most of it , not the case. I enjoyed more knowledge of the world they live in and ways. But for me the beasts are a great bunch.
I liked it. It may have been too chaotic in the beggining even though I read de first one on this series... I just want to know how could he be startled by her clapping when he wasn't watching... because, you know, deaf guy.

Awesome , I adore the Lo Denaii ! 😃 I find them fun .The Hunt books make me laugh and raise my spirit when I am down. I hope Jeanette eventually tells us how Zhuii found Kehko.
After all the reviews I looked at before I downloaded this series i was sceptical... lol well I love her writing and Iam astonished at this authors ability to spin a tell. Love the fact that it's a RH book! Really glad that it was all a out her.
Rosie was something else. She knew when she was being irrational and wasn't listening or being weird. I enjoyed her and the guys coming together. I like find out more things about the clan and why they are so different. There's nothing wrong with being different embrace it.
I didn’t care for the heroine too much. She acted superior and it got grating at times. I loved all of the hero’s though and overall really enjoyed the book. I really like this series and can’t wait for the next book.
I had a little bit of trouble getting started with this book, mostly because I found the main character really annoying. However, that just shows how far she has to go. I loved the story. After the character started to grow I couldn't but the book down. I can't wait to read more about his world!
