Caveman Alien's Trap

Caroline...

I'm trapped!

Not just stranded on this lethal dinosaur planet. But actually trapped. As in, there's a crude net all around me and I can't move!

The guy who trapped me is right in front of me, just staring at me through the net like he's never seen a woman before. Which he hasn't. The cavemen on this alien planet, don't have women of their own!

So, they like to abduct Earth girls and then get them pregnant. And the way this guy is looking at me, I think that's exactly what he's planning. But if that's what he thinks will happen, he'll be disappointed...

I'd rather die!

Xark'on...

This is not what I thought I'd catch...

It's a woman. Even I can see that. She's round and smooth and small. And her scent is so alluring it makes my head spin!

My crotch swells uncontrollably at the sight of her. I've never felt anything like it!

I caught her, so I can do with her as I please...

And I know exactly what I'll do!

This is a combined review for Books 1 through 6 in the Caveman Aliens series by Calista Skye

Someone suggested I give this series a try. It’s on Kindle Unlimited and since I had a free subscription at the time I gave it a go. It wasn’t bad. It’s a silly alien sci-fi romance that you can read in a day. Not much plot or substance to it. Sometimes you just need something silly and with no substance to read.

The books are an alien abduction survival type read. The books are all a little bit silly. They are slow moving in parts and a bit choppy.

The concept of the Jurassic planet was interesting. It’s a planet with dinosaurs, weird bugs, plants, and Caveman. Their are no women on this planet.

When the series starts we meet several different women who are all College age students working on a project when some aliens come to earth and kidnapped women only. Those aliens that kidnapped the women end up crash landing on this Jurassic plant. The women are trying their best to survive on this Jurassic planet and soon learn they aren’t alone.

The romance in each book is very quick. Each women ends up being kidnapped by a different kind of Caveman. They pretty much fall fast and the sex is hot and primal. These Caveman end up take the women back to their tribes and we soon learn that not all the men in the tribes are good. Most of the men want to capture and force the women into being breeders aka sex slaves or the Caveman want to kill them to complete this prophecy to bring back The Women.

As the series goes on we learn their is a small underline plot on how these Caveman came to be on this Jurassic planet and what their purpose is or was.

In book five we get a brief recap of what has happened so far. This is where we learn about the underlining plot and find more women are alive and have been trapped on this star shaped land island due to a Dragon like creature.

In book six we learn why and how the Caveman came to be on this plant and their weird belief system. I didn’t care for book six. This is where I became all Caveman’d out. The issue I had with, six, was how slutty Delyah became. I get the weird water makes them lower their inhibitions, but this was over the top.

One thing that really frustrated me in this series was that each women even after they found their Caveman lover they still think they can get home. After 10 months wouldn’t it come to your mind that you aren’t getting home. Even if you do find another spaceship… How are you going to fly it?

As far as things go. The Caveman Aliens series was just ok.

I read book 1 because the cover cracked me up. I'm sorry but it's true. I was like well this has to be gloriously campy and fun. I've been addicted to it since.

I've liked each book and while they could be a bit better (there's always room for improvement) I'm happy with them and get excited when a new one comes out.

Dinosaurs, cavemen, family, friends, bad guys, scary aliens, I mean come on it has everything! Hahaha!

I think if you go into books like this expecting fun you'll have a great read. I think of them like I did Saturday morning cartoons. I wasn't in the mood to ponder life's mysteries after school all week and I'm certainly not up for heavy reading after a craptastic week of work as an adult.

Seriously, give this series a try.

Hidden depths

Caroline doesn't want a caveman since they are all about survival, and she likes them more intellectual. Xark'on is trying to help his tribe get rid of a dragon like creature, but he has hidden depths. Caroline had been peeping on him as he made some sort of contraption that she was curious about. She is an interesting character. Fighting depression, but surviving on such a harsh world seems to keep the depression at bay. I love how they fell for eachother. This was a fun read, and if you liked the previous stories, then you'll like this.

unbelievable?!
Didn't anybody notice that this series became worse with every book?
It is without any meaning or depth. There is nothing except group of very horny girls whom think that giving the guys glimpse of their private parts are something great and extraordinary. Most the time our Caroline is thinking, speaking and doing SEX.
Events are predictable because there isn't new actions in the story. The joke about the hole and the tool was repeated, dull and boring.
I wish there will be a miracle in the next one.

I forgot that this series has the whole colonist mentality of 'they are savages and we are better than them (and anything we do is an improvement on what they already do).' This book continues that outlook and the pattern that the human girl gets together with the only worthwhile [cave]guy in his tribe. Out of 200 tribesmen, 1 guy isn't lazy ... or something like that.
It wasn't as in-your-face in this story as in previous stories in the series, but still bothersome.

I think this one was the best in the series so far - by a very slim margin and still there are issues.

A bit more to the plot with the dragon and everything.

Still continuing with the theme that the earth girls get the "best" caveman of the tribe and think by flashing the cavemen some magic boob or something they will immediately fall all over themselves and do anything the woman wants.

Not sure what I thought of Caroline in this book as she was a bit disparaging of the other girls husbands - as you know she likes an intellectual who says profound stuff.

The dialogue can be a bit cheesy and sex scenes are still very cheesy and OTT and I generally skip them

But, I am intrigued by Bune and how they are going to deal with threats from other tribes so will continue as I feel like they are improving.

5 book in this series.

Caroline is the unofficial sharman of our earth girls. She and the leader Dahla are the only remaining single girls... but she’s happy with that. She doesn’t want a cave man... she wants an earthman..a thinker... a creator... truth be told she does wants the caveman she’s has been spying on for weeks... he is all the things she wants and more. He is busy digging and after escaping a dinosaur she finds out that he has a mission... to stop the dragon that is terrorising his tribe.

Fun, hawt and action packed those series is a fantastic read. A total page gripper and I cannot wait for the next instalment.

I swear this series just keeps getting better! I love the banter between Caroline and Xark’on and how different he is from all of the other cavemen. These books are so much fun to read and I can’t wait to read the next one. Calista Skye your are giving me everything I want in a series right now and I don’t know what I will do when I get caught up with this series!

I'm sorta liking these stories, but I did not vibe with this particular FMC, so I didn't enjoy it........ P.S. I raised the stars cause I just read or partially read book 8 now that was bad, in this one the FMC was annoying (to me) but the story was ok.

Xark’on was described as having dark hair and violet eyes… so I can only see him as Rhysand.

•••

Possible Triggers - Violence, sexism, alien shenanigans, kidnapping, death, blood, gore, murder, sexual situations, and more.

•••

Tl;Dr - When Caroline discovers a caveman construction site, she becomes entranced by the hot caveman construction worker. She perva on him for days before being flushed out and caught in a net. Naturally, a disaster follows, forcing Xark’on and Caroline to remain together and grow closer. Turns out, Xark’on is trying to save his village from the local murder dragon by making it fall into a spike trap… and he needs live bait…

•••

The Characters -
Caroline: She’s adapted shockingly well to the alien planet. Like, she’s pretty chill and is always finding little ways to make things better for everyone.

Xark’on: This guy has a massive savior complex. He has taken on full responsibility for riding the village of the murder dragon AND is a patron of the arts. Tough

•••

My Thoughts - It is noted that, in the past, Caroline has struggled with depression. Beyond a few brief references and some celebration of Zoloft, mental health has no impact on the plot. I feel like that could have been something truly emotional and great. How does one live with depression in a planet that requires every bit of your focus for survival?

Xark’on, in classic fashion for this series, was generous and a bit angsty. But, more importantly, he was innovative! He want to see his community progress and thrive. That was cool. I also liked that his true passion was art.

Now… Troga. I ALWAYS am in favor of taming a scary creature because they’re just babies! I wanted Troga to be the newest cave puppy. I hat that she wasn’t. She’s just misunderstood and no one else seems to get that! In my opinion, she was just protecting the Treasure (ifykyk) in her own way. But, damn. She brought the action. Finally, a really exciting conclusion. I loved it

This made me loose braincells. I so badly wanted to see Troga, that psychopath dragon get trapped and killed but this book ugh.
The MMC was absolutely not anything special. The FMC was gushing over the basic minimum only for him to plan to use her as bait for the trap until like 60% of the book. Real romantic.
Their lusty banter consisted of joking about holes and tools. Seriously, the word "hole" was used over 100 times in this book for this reason.
Then, at roughly 70% the FMC almost gets used as bait for the trap by the villagers (w/o consent of the MMC), saves herself only to land on the platue were the treasure that the MMC and the other villagers wanted to earn is. The treasure is 12 women (originally more but they died) that the MMC knew about and that are his whole motivation to kill the monster.
Oh, and did I mention that he used to feed these women, but stopped because he started to have sex with the FMC?
He left them to starve, because he finally had a woman to have sex with.
The villagers and the MMC made me sick to the stomach.
They were either lazy and a burden for the MMC and being lusty and deceitful was their only character trait or they were the MMC who let TWELVE WOMEN STARVE.

Okay, I skipped to the part with Troga at 83% and can we just talk about how misogynistic some of the FMC's thoughts are?!
She thinks that the monster is a female because it is cruel?! Did the MALE villagers something unimaginably cruel to you, girl?
"Yes, this is a female, all right. She has the patience to give me all the time I need to really panic and run through all the horrific possibilities in my mind. She stops ten feet away."

Caroline is one of the few women left in this new tribe without a caveman hottie all of her own. As much as the other girls try not to rub it in her face, their husbands are a lusty bunch and babies are incoming, thick and fast!

She has been furtively stalking a new caveman. This one is much more in her comfort zone. He is smart, he builds things and whilst covered in muscles he seems to be using his brain more than the others!

Xren is a dangerous place to live and Xark'on more than most knows this. His father was turned out of the village for thinking outside the box and he has inherited the exact same inquisitive streak. Also a secret artist, he know that his tribe would never understand what he is attempting. But when Caroline falls into a trap, he may have found the answer to his "bait the dragon" trap! But as he and Caroline spend time together he quickly realises that she is his advance reward for being the bait in the trap himself.

But Targa isn't the only monster they have to face, Xark's tribe are pretty icky too! They are slackers, more than happy to have him shoulder the work (and the blame) of the trap. All they want is the treasure.

There are more than few new added layers to the story and I really enjoyed meeting some new friends! Misunderstandlings abound but Caroline and Xark may just make it out alive!!!

Much awaited .......

I have become a little addicted to this series. I was so happy to see that it's continuing.

Caroline is lonely, depressed and a lil jealous of all the girls getting sex, lolz.

She needed antidepressants before this planet. As much as she'd like a caveman of her own, she doesn't find them to be intellectually stimulating.

Sooooo.......Caroline goes to stalk Xark'on in the jungle. He's making a trap for Troga¿ I think her name is, the dragon.
And, she gets caught in his trap. And then Troga almost burned them and he lets her to with him to his tree house.

She stays for a while. Helping with the trap. Making blue ink for his paintings. Teaching him to swim. They fall in love. He's aT more of an intellectual than she thought. He likes to tease her. He's an artist and makes paintings

But when the trap is done, his tribe's mates de ice that she's bait. They hit him on the head. They try to take her. She gets away and finds 12 more women near the dragon's trench. She gets the women out. Heidi comes on her dinosaur and helps out.

Now Caroline and Xark'on are bait for the dragon. The twelve new girls helped too. So sweet. And Xark'on did not betray her and wants to marry her.

Now she's married and prevent and they plan on going to attack Bune and whoever is messing with them.

This is one of my favorites of the series so far, mainly because I enjoy the intellectual dynamic of the leads as well as the big plot surprise near the end. It does have some pacing issues, as it feels like things aren’t really happening until about 75% into the book. The caveman’s excuse of “I forgot” for the big plot point was dumb, as this particular caveman is shown to be very intelligent and motivated and the “I forgot” excuse doesn’t suit his character at that point. He himself is probably my favorite ml so far though.

Caroline is a fine fl, she talks a lot and is very smart herself, I believe she’s close to Delyah in that respect, she comes up with plans very quickly and handles herself in stressful situations realistically but she’s also able to step up and be brave when it matters. The author puts a note at the beginning that Caroline deals with depression, as someone who has suffered with it for most of my life I was looking forward to seeing how that was handled on this alien planet… and let’s just say I was disappointed. It’s a lot of mentioning it in the past but not really showing the effects it has on Caroline in the moment. The plot needed to move along of course and depression can slow people down so it probably wasn’t conducive to the plot the author was going for.

Good read if you enjoy this series which I do.

Another fantastic story in the ‘Caveman Aliens’ series!
These stories keep getting better and better! Just when the earth women are becoming accustomed to dealing with the usual ‘smalls’ and ‘bigs’ (dinosaur-types), something far more deadly makes its presence known.
Caroline is quite a woman. She’s learned to handle many of the problems they face on Xren. She’s creative, not afraid of hard work, and when it’s time to make difficult decisions, she forges ahead. Life on this planet is so tough that you’re forced to face your issues, to confront your demons. And rise above or fail.
Xark’on is an amazing warrior with the kind of creative mind able to conceive of an elaborate trap to get rid of the beast terrorizing his village. I love the way the two of them are when they get together, as they learn to appreciate more and more about each other. They have many dangers to overcome, misunderstandings - even betrayal, and a lot of love to share! I couldn’t stop reading! And I know there will be more stories to tell on this strange planet.

Geeky girl meets Renaissance caveman, cool, I enjoyed this story, and I remember that I have read one or two of the previous ones too and liked them just as much too! There is an exciting thread that runs through this book that keeps you wondering if X will use Caroline for bait, or if she will get eaten by one of the dinosaurs that are attracted to her. I was totally surprised by the Treasure, you will be too. I loved how Caroline, who is simply an all-around badash, smart, inventive and loyal, was not interested in simple cavemen, she was holding out for a dude she could have big brained conversations with. X is a true textbook Renaissance caveman, who appreciates her knowledge and is willing to learn from her. I'll admit that some parts of the story drag but it is made up in the excitement of the attacks, conflict with the bad dudes, and the hot teaching an alien about Worship scenes. I have to go back and read the ones I missed now, but can't wait to see what comes from the Treasure.

Very creative but poor grammar.

I really like this authors “Caveman” and “Fire Planet” series. I love the universe she has established in each series. The creativity and elaborateness is very interesting. However the grammatical errors are so noticeable. Any editor passed the fifth grade would have caught them and should have prior to publication. I’m not sure why they weren’t but just an fyi that this book is full of errors.

I’m off to read the next story, Deylaha’s part and to find out the mystery that is Bune. I am waiting to see if they go back to earth or if this was somehow time travel or something equally far fetched. The mystery definitely holds my attention to this series.

Oh and lastly, I find it very immature that the author describes a woman’s sexuality and her prowess in owning it as “s l u t t y”. She uses this word a lot to describe the female leads desire or coquettish behavior. I don’t consider enticing, flirty manner as “s l u t t y”. I found that insulting actually. I wish she had chosen another descriptor.

Enjoy!!

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

What do you do when you are two people from different planets stuck together? This is the question that Caroline and Xark'on must ask themselves. Caroline was part of the group of women that has ended up on this planet with no way off. Xark'on is a caveman who has never seen a woman but likes what he sees in this one he has caught in his net (literally). Can these two find a common ground and find that the ideas they have of the other aren't all there is or will they find that the distance is to much and their will be no hope for them?

This is another amazing story in this series. Each can be read as a stand alone or in order. There is so much I want to tell you about this book but don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say it will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Caveman Alien’s Trap Book 5
By Calista Skye
Kindle unlimited purchase
Caroline likes taking care of the other girls. She hunts, cooks, and experiments with food and drink. She also secretly fights depression. She has found something in the jungle that she does not to share with the other girls.
Xark'on knows he's being watched, but he can't figure out who it could be.
This couple I like the best. She took care of him just as much as he took care of her. This book proves that the little things matter the most.
VERY long series. 14 books so put on a pot of coffee and get comfortable.

I think the intro needs updated to add in TW for Caroline’s thought process when it came to depression and then a certain scene later in the book mentioning a SA, but over all this was one of my favorites so far in the series.

Xark’on was also one of my favorites, I loved the artist type and softness he portrayed towards Caroline. He is still like the other cavemen when it comes to protecting and taking care of the FMC but he was a bit different than the others!

Caroline Was also different than the others, but this mostly came from her having depressive thoughts and loneliness but having to survive on Xren kind of forced all of that to the background of her mind. She felt a little more 3D than the other 4 girls but still fell into the same love nest just like the others. I’m not complaining because that’s exactly why I’m reading this series 🤣

So far I’m absolutely loving this series and can’t wait to immediately jump into the next one!

Happy reading everyone! ❤️

>Book review – Caveman Alien’s Trap
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 5th in the Caveman Alien series and ends in an HEA. Caroline goes out to spy on an alien caveman and gets caught in a net. Xark’on ends up saving her life multiple times and they fall for each other. Xark’on is willing to listen to Caroline and learn new things, which is a complete turn on for her.
>The creature causing danger in this book is the most interesting yet. There is also a huge surprise as to what the “Treasure” is that Xark’on is trying to get for his tribe. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. The romance is fun, but the story dragged on with the daily chores.
