Simon Kagan is on tour overseas with his band Oblivion when he sees his mirror image singing on a TV talent competition.
A man who’s trying to capitalize on his fame and everything he’s built.
Not if Simon has anything to say about it. But first, he has to find the bastard…
Too many secrets.
Margo Kagan is hiding one of her own. And the timing couldn’t be worse, since no one knows why Simon’s supposed brother picked now to show up.
Family reunion? Or something far more sinister…
A debt repaid.
Ian Kagan is sick of living in the shadows. The dirty secret. The time has come for him to take his place in the limelight, and he’ll do whatever it takes to end up where he rightfully belongs. Stardom was never part of the unholy agreement he made, but he won’t back down now.
No matter who gets hurt.

USA Today bestselling author Cari Quinn grew up wanting to be a singer more than anything else. When she realized she probably wouldn’t be hired as the opening act for the Foo Fighters, she stopped singing and started writing. Now she happily writes about rock stars, MMA fighters, suited heroes, bodyguards and everything in between. And she blasts her music as loud as the neighbors can stand, because hey, she’ll always be a rock star in her own head.
She's also half of the duo Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott, as well as one half of the USA Today bestselling author Taryn Quinn, who writes steamy small town romantic comedies (among other things.)
While on tour with Lost in Oblivion, lead singer Simon Kagan turns on the television and sees almost a mirror image of himself performing and the man claims to be his brother. Ian Kagan is determined to get for himself what his brother has; fame and fortune, but before he can do that he has a debt to repay. Ian is reckless and impulsive and that along with dropping his famous brother’s name gets him a meeting with Donavon Lewis the head of Ripper Records, but Ian soon finds that just because he has talent, it doesn’t mean he knows anything about the business, fame, or being a team player. This book sets up the other two, introduces Ian and gives us a look at how his appearance in Simon’s world turns it upside down.
WOW, what a way to start off a new series by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. If you have read the Lost in Oblivion Series you will remember Simon Kagan, because lets face it Simon is really really hard to forget, well this book is about his BROTHER! A brother he didn't even know he had!!!!! Yes folks I give you Ian Kagan who is very much like his heart throb brother Simon.
Lost in Oblivion is on Tour in London, Simon is back to singing after recovering from some major medical issues (I wont go into more detail because then that will spoil things if you haven't read about it yet) and Margo is right by his side. This trip to London reveals a lot of secrets some more surprising than others but I hope in the long run they are all good ones.
I loved the cliffhanger ending and cannot wait to see what happens with Ian next. Will Simon open his arms and welcome his long lost brother, only time will tell. I for one hope they work things out but if this first book was any indication on what will happen it will be a long road for the two of them.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that has read and enjoyed the Lost In Oblivion series. If you enjoy a good Rockstar Romance I would give this series a go as well. Happy Reading!!!!

Pretty sure I’ll never tire of reading about Quinn and Elliott’s Lost in Oblivion band. The beloved cast figures prominently in this introduction to the authors’ new rock trilogy.
Catching up with some of my absolute favorite characters ever was exciting enough in itself. Then the authors kicked it up another notch with a somewhat anti-hero and a story filled with a plethora of cryptic clues hinting at a dark, possibly sinister element. It was nirvana.
Rock Revenge promises a trilogy fraught with mystery and intrigue as well as hot rockstars.
The entire time I was reading this book I felt like I had somehow landed right in the middle of a series. Turns out that was kinda true. The description of this book says you can read this as a standalone. Which, if you are not a character reader, you probably can. But otherwise, you are going to meet all kinds of characters that already have elaborate back stories and you know nothing about those except little brief glimpses here and there. So, even though it says you can read this as a standalone, I would really recommend you read the Oblivion series first. There is Lost In Oblivion and Found in Oblivion, I don't know how many of those books you need to read first but I think it's important that you do. The main character this spin off introduces, Ian, was not very likable to me. I am sure his character is going to grow but nothing about him in this book really made me want to read on. Which I also attribute to not reading the other books. Anyways, this would have been maybe a 2 star read for me, I rounded it up to 3 stars simply because I believe it would maybe be more enjoyable had I read the other books in the series. And I didn't even realize I should have done that until I was 80% through this book.
When nothing has been grabbing you lately, the thing to do is reach out to "old" friends, in my case it is the Band Oblivion, or more to the point Simon Kagan. This might be the best of all the offshoot Oblivion Books IMO, thanks to snappy dialog, a terrific storyline with a whole lotta mystery thrown in and of course the requisite baby announcement. Simon gets two shocks of his life - one welcomed, one not so much and with the backing of his rock family tries to get to the bottom of it all. Now the absolute icing on this cake is the last chapter, when the enigma that is Donovan Lewis (be still my heart) steps in and makes a decision that is sure to rattle everyone while giving us the tiniest peek into his life that has been the biggest of all Oblivion mysteries. - Gladly one-clicked the next book in this spinoff. Cheers to old friends!
The beginning of a trilogy that had me from the beginning and a cliffhanger ending. Loved it!!! Spin off/Reveal/Suspense/Revenge Simon and Oblivion are on tour in the UK. He's at a high and his voice amazing, then he sees a man that looks like him, sounds like him and singing in a talent competition on tv. Then his name, Kagan, Ian Kagan. Simon has a brother he never knew about. His mother left their father and moved to England with her lover, not revealing she was pregnant. She never let Simon or his dad know about Ian. But she was just like their father. Abusive, mean . Rubbing Simon in his face. Comparing them and Ian was always less. Margo has a secret too.... Cliffhanger ending............Can't wait for the next one.
Cari and Taryn are at it again! Giving me all these crazy clues and bits and pieces of stuff but not giving me all the answers. I think I'm going to pass out if I don't get the resolution soon...
Our man Simon is on tour with Oblivion when he sees his eyes on another guy's face. SINGING on a stage. When the announcer of the show says the guy's name and it's Ian KAGAN, what is Simon going to do?!?! Demand Lila find out who the hell this impostor with his eyes is. Then Simon will take care of the problem with his own two hands, er, fists more like it.
Ian is a bit of a shit. He's had a shit life actually, and it's given him one hell of a chip on his shoulder. He's got things to take care of and no BROTHER of his is going to stand in his freakin way. Nope! But, he will capitalize on Simon's (and his) last name if it means getting him everything he wants, no, DESERVES. If Simon gets hurt in the process, even better. When he approaches Lord Donovan, will Donovan give him a break like he gave Simon?
Ahhh Donovan. The mysterious puppetmaster. The man who holds all the strings. The hot, British guy that I've been dying over this whole series. I want more about him stat!!!
And then there's Simon's love Margo. She's hiding something. Something big. Will Simon forgive her when it comes out? Will she deserve his forgiveness? Will she and Simon make it through what is surely some rough times to come?
I love everything about being in the world of Oblivion. These rockstars captured my heart years ago when I first began that series and have loved all the spin-offs of the family members and bands finding their place in the rockstar world.
This new trilogy has intrigued me and certainly piqued my interest now that Simon has a long lost brother who doesn’t appear to be coming into his life with good intentions. Ian Kagan most certainly has nefarious motives and I’m extremely curious how it all plays out and will affect my favorite rockstars.
Well, That Was Unexpected!!😊🎤🎶🎸😎🎠🍼💥 (Read using Kindle Unlimited) Rock Revenge (Rock Revenge Trilogy Book 1)
We're back with Oblivion but mostly Simon & Margo. She's dug in about something & obviously needs time to sort it out, patience isn't his best attribute but for her he's learning!!💘😍 He's watching a British reality show on tv before they leave for sound check at the O2 Arena in London. The next act on is announced 'Ian Kagan'!😱 Simon sits there transfixed, this kid looks like him, he even sounds like him W.T.F?? He drags Nick in from the adjoining bedroom who's just as stunned. During the quick interview he's asked if he's any relation to Rockstar Simon. They're both holding their breath, he says yes, he's my big brother, in his English accent!!😱💥and
Ian Kagan has had a sh*t life!😡😢 His Mum has rubbed Simon in his face his entire life, he was kinder, xweeter, more grateful, has more talent etc etc It was endless.💔😡 He's been neglected & put through the ringer and now he's got to debts to pay. He needs to win this competition & get to LA, his life depends on it!😳 Then he finds out its a farce & has to take desperate steps! He's already blown his relationship up with his brother by springing it on an unsuspecting world, because Simon had no idea he existed!😞 He *has* to make it & make it big in the US!!
Wow this is intense, emotive & full of bitterness & fear!😒💔😢 Ian is acting like a douchecanoe but I'm hopeful he's as redeemable as his big brother!🙏
Oblivion’s lead singer, Simon Kagan, is back behind his mic in a London concert with the love of his life by his side. Everything seemed to be finally falling into place until he sees his own eyes and hears his own voice while watching an American Idol version show. If that wasn’t enough this punk kid tells everyone that his name is Ian Kagan and Simon is his brother. Simon sees red and he can’t believe someone is claiming to be his brother and trying to ride his coattails to the big time. All Simon knew was that he was an only child left behind by his mother to live with a dad that berated him and beat him relentlessly.
Oh, this book is full of surprises and everything rock and roll. Simon and Margo are so hot together and she knows just how to calm him down when need be. It does leave you with a cliffhanger with so much on the line that I cannot wait for book two to come out. This series has me hooked.
I’m a 1st time read and reviewer for these two authors and I must say wow what an absolutely fantastic story, plus this is my favourite genre so I was excited to read this book. The band Oblivion ends up in London for a tour, sitting back and relaxing Simon turns on the tv and what he see’s blows his mind. There’s a guy in a singing competition who looks and sounds exactly like Simon, his name is Ian Kagan and he’s Simon’s brother one that he didn’t even know about. That’s all I’m going to give you guys because yes this story is that good and I don’t want to spoil too much and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book, it also ends in a cliffhanger. I loved every bit of this story and it’s going on my to read again shelf, a 5 plus +++++ ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Way to start a new series! Quinn and Elliott do not disappoint.
Loved the Lost in Oblivion series and can't wait to see what is store for the spin off.
I just love reading about Margo and Simon, and of course the rest of the gang. But seriously, let's add another character who looks amazingly like Simon - a bit of mystery, suspense and a cliffhanger!
There is just enough to peak your interest, grab your attention and make your mind spin. Ian is getting a chance to show the world what he's got, but there is something sinister behind the whole thing. I kinda feel for the guy and am hoping that there's more to him than looking and sounding like Simon. I am looking forward to meeting Lila's cousin too!
not sure u would even call that a cliffhanger ending .... but what? that was just odd?? it was like it finally got really really hot, steamy, interesting and all that jazz and over. done??! what?!! new 2 these authors. will i read book 2? we will see. Hhmmm? weird the book 1 is on Kindle Unlimited the 2 and 3rd are not??! so weird. i wonder why authors do that?
I loved everything about Rock Revenge, the start of a new trilogy and spin off from the Lost in Oblivion series.
I was in heaven once I started reading and was so excited to get more of the gorgeous Simon Kagan. When it comes to Simon and his Violin Girl you know there’s going to be sexy times ahead and these authors sure do know how to steam up a story. However, it looks like he’s got competition on the singing front from a possible brother he never knew about. He’s a troubled young man who’s keeping lots of secrets and I’m hugely intrigued. There’s a definite edge to him and I can’t wait to find out more about the mysterious Ian. Although this is a novella, it’s action packed and full of surprises.
An intriguing and suspenseful start to a new series. I am looking forward to the story unfolding over the next couple of books and for those skeletons to come tumbling out of the closet. I have a feeling it's going to be a thrilling ride.
Angry for Simon Kagan to see himself in the young singer or find out he has a brother while watching a talent show on British TV. Annoying for Ian Kagan to meet up with his brother, superstar Simon. Annoying to Margo to live the anguish of Simon and try to help him while choose the best time to tell him a secret.
The first book of the trilogy about Ian Kagan, distressing, where I already want to know what happened in the young Kagan's past and what may be happening now.

REVIEW: ROCK REVENGE is the first instalment in the contemporary adult ROCK REVENGE trilogy co-authored by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. ROCK REVENGE is a spin-off from the authors’ LOST IN OBLIVION series. This is thirty year old Simon and Margo Kagan, and twenty-five year old Ian Kagan’s story line
Told from dual third person perspectives (Simon and Margo), and first person perspective Ian Kagan, ROCK REVENGE follows in the wake of shock and surprise as a stranger with Simon’s face and voice has revealed to the world that he is the younger, more talented brother to Oblivion’s front man Simon Kagan. A televised, British talent competition wherein Ian will eventually discover the truth about the fraudulent, behind the scene push and pull forces Ian to look elsewhere in the hopes of having it all.
Simon Kagan can’t believe his ears or his eyes but Ian Kagan is unmistakably an exact duplicate of the man he once was. Hoping to put an end to the scam perpetrated by an unknown singer, Simon will confront Ian, a twenty five year old man who believes he is Simon’s illegitimate younger brother. What ensues is a fight between brother, and the realization that you can’t have it all.
Oblivion’s lead guitarist Nick, and his wife and band manager Lila Crandall play secondary and supporting roles as Lila begins an investigation to reveal the truth. Donovan Lewis, record company executive, knows that there is something behind the angry eyes and beautiful voice of the British rock star wanna be-a similar something he continues to see in Oblivion’s front man Simon Kagan.
ROCK REVENGE is a story of family, rivalry, betrayal and love. A novella length emotional and heart breaking introduction to the Rock Revenge Trilogy wherein Simon must accept what was and what is going to be, as Ian sets out to make a name for himself.
Fantastic Story & Audible Listen🎧 A Rocking New Series!
Rock Revenge: Rockstar Romantic Suspense Rock Revenge Trilogy, Book 1 By: Cari Quinn, Taryn Elliott Narrated by: Wen Ross, Kai Kennicott
Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott are creative masterminds when it comes to Rockstar novels. I love their writing style, the storylines and the characters they create. This book is completely engrossing, I felt like the authors brought me into their characters world, like I was along side them, seeing what they see, feeling what they feel. This is the first book in a new series, set in the Oblivion world so characters from that series appear in this story as well. Oblivion is currently on tour overseas, Simon Kagan is watching an American Idol type reality TV show in his London hotel room, the next singer introduced Ian Kagan grabs his attention, there is a huge WTF moment when he sees eyes that mirror his own and Ian tells the reporter he is Simon Kagan’s brother. Simon was not aware of any brothers, never mind a British one. He has Lila looking into it but decides to go confront him himself. The meeting is not a friendly one, Ian does show him proof of his birth and that they do share DNA, but is that proof legit? There is a lot of angst between Ian and Simon. Simon does not know what Ian’s deal is? Is it just a ploy to get his foot in the door of the music industry. Ian seems to be filled with bitter resentment and/or jealous of Simon and not just of his success. Ian was not happy with the way the reality show turns out, he jets off to L.A dropping Simon’s name to land a meeting with Donovan Lewis at Ripper Records. Donovan knows Simon had nothing to do with Ian calling him but decides to give Ian a chance he’ll be an opener for a show at the Blue Rhino. A lot goes on in this book, there is plenty of drama, a great build up of some mysterious suspense, hints are dropped that make you wonder what is really going one, who did Ian make a deal with. There are some great sexy moments in this book too, the chemistry between Simon and Margo is still smoking hot. Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott thank you for another great story. I am looking forward to what comes next in “Rock Reclaimed”, I hope it comes out on Audible soon.
I listened to the Audible edition, narrated by the fabulously talented Wenn Ross and Kai Kennicott. They are awesome voice performers who bring these characters and their story to life right from the pages to your ears. These two rockstars are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧
This is book 1 of the Rock Revenge trilogy. Please note, that you will want to read Cari Quinn’s and Taryn Elliott’s Lost In Oblivion series, especially Book 3 “Destroyed” as Rock Revenge does feature the characters Simon and Margo.
As the blurb describes, Simon is shocked to discover while watching a reality talent show that he “supposedly” has a brother who looks like him and sounds just like him and he is a little peeved that his brother is trying to ride on his coattails of fame. Ian knew about Simon and has been jealous. Perhaps there is more about Ian than just wanting to be a super star like Simon?
This first part of the book alternates between Margo’s and Simon’s POV. I really enjoyed seeing more of Margo and Simon as well as a bit of Nick and Lila. Margo’s and Simon’s relationship is wonderfully intense and some of the scenes between them are quite steamy. Of course the antics between Nick and Simon are still hilarious.
The second part of the book is told from Ian’s POV. Ian is an anti-hero and who doesn’t love a good angsty, damaged male character? He’s jaded, angry, and cocky and I felt like maybe I should dislike him, but really couldn’t. His story intrigues me. His character doesn’t really get developed towards the last 1/3 of the book. We get a little bit of his background and a little bit of his motivation. There is clearly more at play than just being jealous and wanting to be a star and I am dying to know the details!
I loved this book. This may be one of my favorites by these authors, of course I say that about all their books! Rock Revenge moves at a good pace, keeping me entertained the entire time. I liked all the characters, especially chapters from each of their POVs. This book does end in a cliffhanger is a part of a trilogy. I am really looking forward to Book 2
I received this book as an ARC and I voluntarily leave this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
*** I received an advanced copy and chose to review it *** ** 100% spoiler free review ** * 5 stars *
Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott have made me one happy camper with the first installment of their newest trilogy, Rock Revenge. Fans of their Oblivion series rejoice.....Some of your favorite LIO boys and girls are front and center in this fun, sexy, mysterious new series and you are going to love every second of it!!! For those who have not read Quinn and Elliott's standout Lost in Oblivion series, you can absolutely read Rock Revenge as a standalone without missing out on anything. But truthfully, you are doing yourself a disservice if you haven't checked out that phenomenal series! It is one of my all-time favorite rockstar series so please be sure to grab it and devour it and then you can thank me later. ;)
In Rock Revenge, we meet Ian Kagen, the hot, sexy doppelganger to Simon Kagen, the lead singer of the highly successful and world famous band Oblivion. The first glimpse of Ian is earth shattering for Simon and it ignites a firestorm that leads to some serious fireworks! As our long standing favorites come to grips with this new development, we get to know Ian on the surface but that man has secrets locked away in a seriously strong vault! It's really the tip of the iceberg and I can't wait for books 2 and 3 to learn who exactly Ian is! Of course this is a Quinn and Elliott book which means there's plenty of sexy times and humor infused throughout. Written in multiple POV's, there's a surprise towards the end of the book that readers and fans of LIO will seriously squeal about! The book ends with a huge cliffhanger and I cannot wait until the next installment is released because this is one series that is a must-read! I need to know what happens next!!!! Rock Revenge is the perfect start to another amazing rockstar series!
Danger is lurking again in the Oblivion Universe. Rock Revenge is an exciting start to a spin off trilogy in the Oblivion/Warning Sign Rock Band Universe. It was lovely to check in with some members of the Oblivion Extended Family to see how they were healing in the aftermath of the heartbreaking sabotage of Warning Sign’s concert and Randy’s death in the Found in Oblivion Series. It was encouraging and heartwarming to see how a few characters were coping, and to get a peek at family life on the road with small children and pregnant women. Of course, there was also a lot of steam heat with raunchy sex, showing marriage has not dimmed the flame in Nick or Simon’s relationships.
This series introduces aspiring Rock Star Ian Kagan, who surprises the world with his talent and his resemblance to Simon, lead singer of Oblivion. Unfortunately, this has come at a time when Simon is troubled and experiencing doubts in his career. Much drama ensues after the shock revelation that Ian is Simon’s unknown brother, and many plots are brewing around Ian - who is the mystery man in the US? What are the groupies that may have conned him in London up to? Lots of intrigue and suspense hinting at malevolent forces again at work against the Oblivion family.
Warning there is no resolution in this book, only lots of hints of what is to come, including a potential romance for Ian with Lila’s cousin Zoe. The authors warn this is a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for next installment to get a few questions answered. Rating: 4.5 Stars, but may go up as I read the entire trilogy.
This quick read has me intrigued as to where the story will go next in this trilogy. Now, if you don't like cliffhangers, then stop now. If they don't bother you and waiting for more of the story is not an issue for you then this was a great read. I never saw an unknown brother in the cards for Simon but Ian is full of surprises on that front. I liked catching up with Simon and Margo, especially now that they are going to have many changes in their lives taking place as well as the brief appearances of both Nick and Lila in this story. I still enjoy the chemistry between Simon and Margo as a couple and think that they remain strong characters and well written despite their issues in life that are relatable to the reader. Ian on the other hand, is going to be a wild card. He has many secrets that I can't wait to see play out. I think that he has the potential to be likable but right now, he has not earned my trust. I am also intrigued by the introduction of the Zoe character that appeared at the end of this installment. I also liked that brief glimpse into Donavan at the end of this installment as well and now I want more of his story too. This story moved along well and I was hooked from the beginning. The story felt like it took place over a matter of a few days and did not drag on. Again, I just can't wait to see where this story will go next and what Ian has up his sleeve as well as to where Zoe will fit into this story.
The band Oblivion is back and is in London for some shows. They are on fire and at the peak of greatness because they performances are undeniably the best around. So what does London have on lead singer Simon…..a surprise… whether it’s good or bad we have yet to find out. We are introduced to Ian and the jury is still out as to whether he is good or bad, a hero or a villain, friend or foe. And that is the crux of this series, what will the outcome of all the craziness truly come to be.
Cari and Taryn bring back our beloved Oblivion Crew, they are the best characters and everytime I can go back to a world where Oblivion is ever present I am ecstatic. The interaction between the band and the members is real and raw. I love how palable the love between Margo and Simon truly is especially since the beginning was rocky and they have been through so much. And are still about to go through even more. When I was reading this book I felt like I was right there in their world. I love how I am transported each and every time I picked up Rock Revenge. The anger was palpable when revelations were made. These two authors so brilliantly create worlds that are amazing.
We are definitely left wanting so much more in this series. Revenge can be dangerous and Rock Revenge will be explosive. I want more!
Is it...? Could it be...? More Lost In Oblivion from the ladies that write rockers that we love to love? Yep, it's true, authors Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott have brought back some of my faves, and I couldn't be happier. But, wait, there's more...As if Simon Kagan wasn't enough, wasn't my favorite bad boy gone good, the ladies have brought us...the flip side, the anti-Simon, if you will, and this new series promises to be oh, so good.
ROCK REVENGE is the first book in a new trilogy, and it has already sucked me right the heck in. Cari and Taryn have totally delivered the goods here, and I cannot wait for the second book. Cliffhanger? Maybe, but to me it's just the first great link in a plot line that I can't wait to see more of, because Ian Kagan's story promises to be soooo good. And, I have to say, this whole other side of Donovan Lewis that we're seeing here, well, color me intrigued.
It really helps to have read the LIO books to get the whole of Simon's and Margo's story, and to appreciate what Ian's appearance means to Simon and to Oblivion as a whole. Book 2 in this new series goes live in October, leaving you plenty of time to come up to speed, so make the time and meet the folks of LIO, and then jump right in to Ian's book. I guarantee that you'll be as hooked as I am.
Let's call this one a Lost in Oblivion teaser follow up! It does end in a cliffhanger but since the next installment is coming in 3 weeks, it's more than okay with me.
If you have read the wonderful Lost in Oblivion rockstar romance series from these talented ladies (which I recommend you do before reading this particular book), then you certainly know who Simon Kagan is..burning hot & very sexy lead singer of said band & one of the main subjects of this book.
Seems like Simon has a brother he never knew about who besides sharing his last name, also shares his looks, charisma & talent for singing like the house is on fire! Simon is NOT happy about this new revelation at all. Who needs a cocky younger version of himself making him doubt his talent after losing his voice & confidence not that long ago. Not him...he has to find out what the hell is going on.
Well, so do we! This is a little peek into what's been going on with the band & now, who is this guy, Ian Kagan? An imposter? A long lost brother or cousin? How will this impact Simon?
Read this one now or read the others 1st & save this one for later. It is a good one, short & sweet & I'm looking forward to hearing the rest the story of Ian. There is nothing I love more than a great rock romance series & this is a great one, one of my favs.
Rock Revenge is a novella introduction to a trilogy of books surrounding the appearance of Ian Kagan, who claims to be the brother of rockstar front man Simon Kagan from Oblivion (first appearance in Seduced).
I loved this novella. Simon is one of my favourite characters of all time and this book reminded us that he is human, has deep fears, and can be thrown off balance relatively easily. We see Simon channel his frustration in a few different ways in a short period of time, and they all were authentically Simon.
Margo balances Simon so well and I enjoyed catching up with this couple and seeing them doing so well. It was also refreshing to see that they still have some of their old problems, born of who they are, but that their priority to each other is unwavering.
Ian definitely reminds me of Simon, with a distinct difference. Where Simon’s inner monologue is always raw and honest with himself, (even when he doesn’t allow any of the thoughts out loud), Ian is crafting his inner monologue and is keeping how he feels even from himself. He is fuelled by anger, and anger is all he allows himself to feel. I’m hopeful that in the coming books that anger will be cracked open and we’ll find another character with deeply complex emotions inside!
I just had to stay up and read this book last night when it HIT my kindle because I had heard so much about it. I am so happy that I did too. This is book 1 of a three book series so be warned it does end in a cliffhanger but a good kind of cliffhanger, in my opinion.
Once again these authors have taken us on a ride with this book and what a fun ride it was. Don't worry you only have to wait until October for book 2 in the series so yea! Simon, Margo and the band Oblivion are in the UK on tour when Simon turns on the tv and sees himself on there. Only it's a show like American Idol and he is not on the show and the dude says his name is Ian Kagan. WTH? Yep, it's like looking in a mirror. It really throws Simon for a loop but if you know anything at all about this band you know they feed off of things like this so... Ian is he Simon's brother, cousin or an imposter? Well this book will shed some light on the story but it doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. I am so looking forward to the second book and digging deeper into the psyche of what makes up Ian. This book was so worth staying up and reading last night. OH Yes!! Bring on October.
So I’m gonna just say it flat out here.....authors Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott rock. The drama, intrigue, shock factor & passion in their books just grabs you & keeps you hanging on till the end & further. This book was no different when we start out with a happy shock for Margo & Simon, only then finding out Simon actually has a brother he’s never seen throws his life into the crazy. We also find out that Ian(Simon’s brother) is involved in something that is not going to go well for Simon. Ian uses Simon’s name to get him into Ripper Records & his chance at getting himself untangled from the situation he’s in. Ian gets tangled up with Zoe a painter/photographer who just so happens to be Lila’s cousin while she’s doing a photography job for the record company. Their relationship is definitely a chemical explosion when they get together. Now there’s one more person in the hairs of danger & the crazy that has been Ian’s life. Eventually we get another surprise when we get a glimpse of the long lost mother, only it’s not the real picture. In the end we see the crazy that is Simon & Ian’s mother & Margo is in definite danger. Definitely recommend.
I'm always up for reading anything in the Oblivion world and when I saw that this book was going to feature Simon and Margo, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.
The blurb gives a pretty good idea of what happens in this book, so I won't rehash the details of the plot.
There's something about this world that just draws me right in and keeps me entertained to the very end. I think that's why I love the series in the Oblivion world. I always feel entertained by them and Rock Revenge has the right amount of everything -- the continuing romance of Simon and Margo, the drama of a new player in Ian Kagan and a good smattering of the other Oblivion characters, especially Lila and Nick. And there's Donovan. *rawr*
Most of Rock Revenge set things up for the next book in this romantic suspence series! I can't wait to see how this all turns out! So many unanswered questions!
While you can read Rock Revenge as a standalone, you'll like it so much more if you read the Lost in Oblivion series first.
