I really enjoyed this short story. Following on from INKarbate, this story is all about tattoo artist and single mum Josephina or Joe as she’s known to friends. She and her work colleagues go to a club that they frequent on the weekends. It’s filled with men and women just looking to hook up for one night. That’s what Joe is used to. That is until Nathan comes along.

He turns her world upside down. Determined to try and keep him at arms length she insists that their relationship is purely physical. Despite his best attempts, Joe is adamant that she doesn’t want him.

Cue tension and chemistry. I felt these characters had more chemistry than that of the main couple in the first book. They just jelled.

Nathan’s character was hot. He had this charisma that I was drawn to. Joe could have loosened up a tad but I suppose with the relationships she’s had in the past it’s understandable.

I’m looking forward to the next one. Definitely recommend.

Unable to stop the reading
Once again, I stuck to a book of Mara Malins. Although the story is short (a hundred pages), her characters are very well described as well as their doubts, their needs, and, what seems difficult to conceive, seems completely logical too.
Joe is a tattoo artist who is unable to rebuild herself to create a new romantic relationship after her previous failure. Nathan, her neighbor seems to understand, give her what she wants to tame her because she is wild and can not be approached emotionally. For that she has two barriers: her daughter that she always put before anyone, and her taste for BDSM, which fills her sexual needs, without endangering her emotional.
She has never really looked at this neighbor that she finds gorgeous, and is surprised when he gives her what she wants while she only pushes him away. She is even more surprised when she understands that what he does is only for her.

Joe is in control of every aspect of her life....she’s a mum, a extremely talented tattooist and an amazing friend. She allows herself the pleasure of letting go every Saturday but she’s losing control.
Nathan lives across the hall from Joe and has been trying to get her attention, little does she know that he knows a lot about her by talking with her family and the Dom’s she’s been with at the club. When he shows up on the Saturday after starting his tattoo, Joe allows herself one night with him, and he offers her the experience anytime she wants.
What was intended to be one night becomes several until she realizes she has feelings for him, and when her world begins to crumble he’s there to comfort her. Fighting till the end, she is taken back when Nathan tells her his feelings for her.
This is a beautiful story of a single mom who’s been hurt and her path to discovering love while maintaining her kink lifestyle.

This is a great series surrounding the artists at INKomplete. All of the artists are a tight knit group, they even head out on Saturday night's to unwind together at a club called Indecency which is known for its unique kinky tastes. Josephina is a single Mom that is constantly controlling every aspect of her life except for Saturday nights. That is her one night that her Mom watches her daughter, Starla, as she goes out and seeks her release. It’s funny how you can be so focused on going from A to B with your day to day goings that you miss out on meeting your someone special. This is the case for Nathan, he is Josephina’s neighbor. This is a great story to learn why Josephina is only interested in a one time hookup and how Nathan manages to work his way into heart.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an ARC for BookSprout.

This story, told in h’s POV, is about Josephine who is still recovering from an unhappy breakup with her daughter’s father. She is a successful tattoo artist and proud mother but she lives her life with no romantic relationships. But her sexy neighbor is showing an interest in her. Can she have a purely sexual relationship with him? This is my first book from this author so I don’t know if all of her books deal with a BDSM relationship. There is a lot of angst (almost too much as I felt like shaking some sense into Joe a couple times) and explicit sex scenes so if this is not your kink, then this book is not for you.

Absolutely enjoyed book 1 and couldn't stop myself from grabbing book 2. Joe and Nathan have a connection that words can describe. It's that sizzle and crackle in the air. You'll feel it.

They pulled me into their story and made me understand them. Joe is devoted to her daughter and a strong woman. Who doesn't want to have at least one night where the mask comes off and she lets her submissive side show.

Nathan is that blend of man that you can see why and how she feel in love with him. I just loved these characters. I would recommend. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

This book like the first book is short and sweet. This time we get to experience Joe’s (Josephine) story. Joe likes a little kink and pain is her thing but she likes it just as a one night thing to just be able to relax and let go. But fate has other plans for her and she’s not really ready for it but through other things that are happening at the studio she lets go I’m sure we’ll get to follow more of her story in the background of the next book just as we got a glimpse of Matt’s and Emily’s. I liked this book a lot and I’m looking forward to the next book.

This ia the second book in the series all set in the INKomplete tattoo parlour and here we have Josephina(joe's) story

Joe is a tattooist at INKomplete and also a single mother she is determined to give her daughter as good a life as possible so she puts her own life on the back burner if she does date which isn't very often she makes sure she keeps it well away from Starla her daughter. When she meets Nathan he is determined to be more in her life. Will he be able to convince her to let him be more in her life than a friend with benefits. There will be plenty of tension as she tries to push him away and he just keeps on coming

Joe as a single mother who had been burned hard by Starla’s father, tries to keep everything in its place. By allowing herself one night of submission a week at the club that she and her friends form the tattoo shop visit. It allowed her to stay separate from her desires and let her to keep her heart closely guarded. When Nathan appears and throws everything out of sync, will she be able to let him in or will she stay away? I couldn't put it down. 💋

The second book in the series, this was about Joe and Nathan. Joe is a single mother whose has been burned badly by the father of her child, making her now cautious about men and only playing on Saturday nights at the club that she and her friends from the tattoo shop visits. However when her next door neighbor Nathan walks into the picture, it just may be time for Joeto begin fighting for love.

I voluntarily read this ARC book. This story is about Josephina( Joe for short) and Nathan. Joe is a tattoo artist. Joe's husband left her with their daughter Starla to raise by herself. Joe likes to be controlled during sex. Nathan tries to be a DOM to Joe. Joe and Nathan fall for each other. The characters and storylines were well written, I enjoyed them. I recommend reading this book. I like this author.

This was an interesting story of nature vs nurture. The main character was all about control over her life for 6 days of the week, but allowed herself one night where she was able to let go and give over control to someone else.

As a single mother who had been burned hard by Starla’s father, Joe tries to keep everything in its place, including herself. By allowing herself one night of submission a week, it allowed her to stay separate from her desires and let her to keep her heart closely guarded. When Nathan appears and throws everything out of sync, will she be able to let him in or will she stay away?

I’ll let you answer that question, but I’ll just say that it felt unfinished to me. I wanted more! It just felt like it ended pretty abruptly.

Why I picked up this book:

I received a free copy of this story from Pen and Kink Publishing in exchange for an honest review. After reading the first book (which I thoroughly enjoyed) I was definitely excited to read the next installment.

This review may contain spoilers.

What I loved:

Just like the first book, this is a fast-paced read that steps outside of Matt & Emily’s story and takes readers back to the INKomplete tattoo parlor through the eyes of Josephina, a single mother determined to avoid heartbreak at any cost. I identified with Joe’s journey on the struggle of a single mother who wants love and a partner in life, but has accepted her fate of a solo parent. She is a mom every day and keeps her life clean and structured to give a happy, carefree life to her young daughter. Any dating is done on her own time and heavily split away from her home life. This rang so authentic to me because I’ve been there… I’ve been that mom struggling to be a good parent but also steal a moment here and there to feel a little more human again. This story brings that clash of mom and self together in a strong, independent woman you can’t help but root for from the opening pages.

I adored Nathan’s character. He had a great blend of a gentle personality and a strong alpha side he could pull out when he needed to. It’s easy to see why Joe would have fallen for him, because he sees all sides of her and just loves who she is.
Areas needing a touch of refinement:

The biggest struggle I had with this story was the first 20% was all about Joe & her daughter. While this is great setup and deep immersion into her plight, if it had been a larger book I probably would have set it aside, because where’s the romance? I would have really liked to see Nathan’s appearance much sooner because I did question whether he was a part of the story or not, and it took a long time for him to feel important.

Overall:

As with the first book, I really enjoyed this short story. It gives readers a reason to root for Nathan and Joe, and explores another method of kink in sex that readers didn’t get to see in the first story. Plus there’s a glimpse of some progression with Matt & Emily in their happily ever after while the core focus still remains on Joe and her struggle.

Josephina/Joe was more drunk then she had been in a long time. Joe felt horrible the next morning. Joe had a five year old daughter Starla who Joes mother apparently took Starla out to breakfast which means she would be hearing about it later. Joe was a successful tattoo artist at INKapable. Joe keeps her week very structured with what she has to do but Saturday night is for Joe even when she comes home bruised up and Starla goes to granny to find out what bad person hurt hrt mommy so she could go to the policeman. Starla’s father Christoph had left the day Joe told him she was pregnant. He didn’t see his daughter or give any kind of support. He had broken Joe’s heart and she refused to take a chance again. Joe went to the club Indecisive on most Saturday nights with her coworkers. The club was for people like her who had a preference for firmer, kinkier sexual interactions. Joe’s few submissive hours at the club are what held her together all week. Nathan was Joe’s neighbor and he carried her groceries for her. It would have taken her two difficult trips but Joe wouldn’t let Nathan know that. Nathan’s powerful frame moved so gracefully with so much self assurance, that Joe felt drawn to Nathan in a way she hadn’t felt to another person in a long time. No, what she needed from a man was purely physical and Joe could get that from the club. Nathan was an Alpha male but also had a gentle personality. That Joe couldn’t help but be drawn to. Joe wants to keep Nathan at arms length and their relationship only be physical. She couldn’t be hurt again, Christoph had shattered her.
I enjoyed this book . It was a quick and easy read. I liked the pace and plot. I loved Nahan and Joe together. I loved how Nathan gave Joe what she needed yet still kept his gentleness. I advise you to read the first book in this series for a smooth read. At times I felt like shaking some sense into Joe about Nathan but understood her urgent caution. I loved how Joe’s mom was so worried about her but still watched Starla so Joe could go out on Saturdays and get what she needed. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

This is a short and sweet story, though decidedly lacking in continuity. The MC’s feelings seemed to turn on a dime and I just didn’t buy it. The characters’ names were mixed up a few times as well, which made some scenes confusing.
