You already know how much I love Reece Richards. Seriously, he's BAE. I cannot get enough of him and I can't imagine how I'll cope when his story finally reaches its end. He's fierce, protective, such an incredibly sexy alpha male, funny, determined, and a gosh darned superhero. Who could resist all of that?
Emmalina has become Flare, working to control her new powers to be able to fight alongside her love. She comes into some new effects that no one is clear on how they developed. But they were cool! The Consortium hasn't skulked off. Faline is more determined than ever to conquer both Reece and Emma. She works her manipulative and evil ways around them so tight that these two can't find any peace. Reece, as protective as ever, means to confront the demon head on rather than wait for another attack. More answers and new questions abound in this volume and I can't wait to see how this all influences the rest of the story.
That being said, this was my least favorite volume of the collection. Yeah, it still got four stars, but going into this I was certain it would get five. All four of the previous volumes got five stars, so why not this one? It was just too wordy. I found myself skipping pages and pages and pages of unnecessary internal dialogue. And the multitudes of pop culture references got under my skin. I don't know why this time was harder to deal with than others. I'm the queen of pop culture drops in conversation. But I was annoyed, which bothered me because I've never been annoyed while reading this series. I'm really hoping that whatever didn't work for me here stays here and I can five-star the next book.

Burst of Flame
This has been my favorite book so far. The emotional impact that Reece and Emma had on me took my breath away. Emma has to deal with decisions and choices that are beyond her realm of her comfort zone. This couple never seem to catch a break. Emma is now a force to be reckoned with. Having acquired new super sized powers, she is now able to fully stand by her hero, her man, her BOLT. Much to her distress she needs to keep her new found powers under wraps.
There is still a dark thundercloud continually looming and circling over their heads and that thundercloud goes by the name Faline. She is relentless and obsessed in obliterating everything BOLT. Reece and Emma remain steadfast and true to each other in spite of all the new dangers and jaw dropping surprises.
I know Angel will blow us away yet again with this continuing story, and I am already buckling up for the ride.

What a great way to kick off the year. Angel Payne never ceases to amaze me. The BOLT Saga gets better and better with each installment.
What happens when you are an equal to the love of your life? Is it really as glamorous and amazing as you would imagine? Emma has a hard time coping with so many changes coming at her. She is amazing and you will be wowed TRUST ME, but are these changes more than she can handle? She is now at more risk than ever and has more at stake than she ever has. Reece is also in protection mode and will do everything he has to keep his team safe.
You will find answers, however, still be left with many questions.. I CANNOT wait to see how this plays out. It has been powerful and all consuming. Angel constantly wows us with her amazing talent. She is witty and incredible with all of her references and way of story telling.
I do recommend reading this Saga IN ORDER.

As we continue into the world of Bolt, it is now game on for these two lovers. Emma is now equal to Reece as she now has powers to help him fight against their enemies. Learning how to use and control her powers, it’s not as easy as she thought it was going to be. Fighting alongside Reece means she is in even more danger than before and brings out the protective side of Reece.
The Consortium is coming back stronger than ever as they will do whatever it takes to bring our favorite couple down!
Angel does an amazing job in keeping her readers on their toes and any assumptions you make are thrown off by other revelations and twists. The romance and steamy scenes are still there to keep us all hot and bothered but there is so much more to this story than just this.
Definitely a 5 star read. Amazing series!

Bolt-Fantastic
Wow, it was just perfect, word by word perfect, if I didn’t love Reece and Emma already I would definitely fall for them, they are absolutely perfect, maddening perfect.
Angel rocked our world once more with this book, so many emotions, so many laughs with her references, it wouldn’t be an Angel Payne book without them, she’s the queen!!!
I honestly don’t know how can I express how much I love this series, how much I love this characters all of them specially of course our EmRee, I don’t think there will ever be another superhero romance series as awesome as this, it’s totally captured our hearts.

This series has blown me away from the very beginning and it was such a great read to start 2019 off on. By far my favourite so far!
Not only does Angel weave together a storyline that involves action, passion, and suspense but she does it flawlessly.
One word for Surge: AMAZING.
Emma is trying to keep her new found powers under control, and trying to cope with what she thought would be something amazing, working along side Reece hasn’t exactly been easy, and she’s not entirely sure how half these new effects came into it. With these powers, comes more chances of her life being in danger, and more responsibilities, which pushes Reece into automatic protective mode, which is what Reece does best. Protects the people he loves most.
Faline... *evil stare* has become even more focused and determined to make their lives a living hell, so it pushes Reece to take more action, as she continue to put them both in danger, the Consortium is still in full force.
The more deeper I got into this book, the more answers on previous questions, but also even more unanswered questions are popping up. Just when I think I know what’s about to happen next, this author assure me that I can never predict how this plot is going to play out, and that’s what I love about this saga. It’s full of the unexpected and keeps you on your toes, gripping your seat, your heart pounding and you end up holding your breath in anticipation on what’s to come. Oh, and of course while all the craziness is going on, there is still so much heat, passion and desire between our two main characters.
Angel Payne is known for her hot and steamy reads, and while this is most certainly hot and damn well delicious, there is so much more that the authors offers us, so much more than your ordinary romances, this saga is truly one of a kind and hands down one of my all time favourites.

He is lightning- she is the sun! Together they create the perfect storm!! Reece Richards didn’t ask to become a superhero, but thanks to what the Consortium has done to him, he’s had no choice!! Now he’s trying to protect not only those he loves, but the entire world from the Consortium’s evil plan!! When they kidnap his love- his world is forever changed and when Emma comes back, she is forever changed!! Upon returning Emma must learn to live with a lot of changes - marriage, power, and a new life!! This series overall is amazing and a must read if you love Avengers, Marvel or superhero’s in general!! Angel Payne gives us a brand new superhero to fall in love with!! Surge is the best book of the series so far, but each book just gets better and better!!

Honestly don't even know if I have fully recovered from this yet. With Emma now pretty much Reece's equal in all senses of the word, things get more intense. I'm not just talking their chemistry even though it is like a true thunderstorm when they get together. They finally take the dive and become official to the world as true soulmates. Emma starts to train to be able to stand by her man's side through the war that is brewing. But things take a twist on their special day. Can they ever have a normal uneventful day? With this new obstacle put in their path they realize the game has changed and they have a bigger war coming. While Reece tries to get ahead of the consortium by investigating, Emma gets a new surprise. While they try to prepare for war they have another journey to go through as well. This saga keeps getting bigger and better. It honestly feels like you are watching a movie with the way everything is described. You can truly feel all the emotions every character goes through. Cannot wait for the next installment I need to know what happens like yesterday!!

So much beauty in this book for there is beauty in love and in this book, that is plentiful!! The things I love most about this book are the attention to details and that the author brought real places that I’ve been to into this book. Reading about fictional characters living and loving in places familiar to you, makes the book seem even more real somehow! Prepare yourself for this book! He is lightning- she is his sun! Together they create a beautiful storm! And if they can find a way to defeat the Consortium, can live happily ever after!! But for any superhero, is the evil in this world ever really 100% gone?!? Or does it just lay dormant, watching, waiting to make its next move?! This entire series should be read with an open mind because when you love all things superhero, Marvel, Avengers, etc. anything is possible!! I have fully embraced these characters and have now added a new superhero into the mix of those I already love!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Surge by Angel Payne is Volume 5: Parts 13, 14 & 15 in The Bolt Saga. This continues the story of Reese 'Bolt' Richards and Emmalina 'Emma' Crist, so you really should read the previous books to fully enjoy this one. Emma is dealing with her new found powers and learning it isn't all that she thought it would be...but she is learning. Emma and Reese are back together with Reese of course is trying to keep her safe just as before. I have been patiently waiting for each book...this is such a great series.

Didn't see the re-emergence of daddy dearest but so excited about the ending..."Wow what tear jerker of an ending.. The Bolt Saga does not slow down or let off the intensity. It starts back up with Emma and Reece planning their wedding while training Emma to fight against the Consortium and their evil plans. Still feeling over the deaths their group has suffered, it's imperative they find the huge and stop this once and for all. The super tight security didn't help at the wedding though. The evil Faline was there. Taking emma 's mom for her own reasons, Reece and Emma are left dumbfounded and scared. When she mysteriously returns, she isn't the same. Reece knows he needs to find the Consortium's hideout and fast. It what he finds there isn't what he expected, and he isn't sure he can fully trust the information he got. Once he returns, Emma reveals the secret she's been hiding. When things look like they are coming together, Reece is struck down again. The info was switched. They go into hiding to keep their secret safe. What will the Consortium do now?

Angel you have outdone yourself with this one. Reece and Emma's story continues to amaze me, but I think what I enjoyed most were all the little things that helped me to connect with you more. Seeing parts of you in the story really helps me to feel like I have connected with you. Halestorm, angel wings, CosPlay are all things that I know you enjoy and are a part of so for me it feels like you are bringing Reece and Emma to life while letting us see a little more into your world.
I cannot wait to see what is in store next for Reece, Emma, and team. Love these and can't wait for the next one.

Surge is book 5 in the Bolt Saga or parts 13, 14 and 15 in ebook format. Surge picks up right where Fuse left off. Reece and Emma have survived an encounter with Faline and the Consortium but their lives have been forever altered yet again. Emma is training to learn her new powers while they plan their wedding. It has been too peaceful for the last couple of months. Will they manage to have the wedding of their dreams before the Consortium strikes again?
Every time I pick up the next installment in the Bolt Saga I wonder where the author can possibly take the story to keep it fresh and new. Surge brings so many surprises you can’t put the book down. I love how Angel brings you a good mix of high heat and mystery with this series. I have enjoyed watching the characters grow. Reece has gone from party boy to man who truly loves and protects the people in his life. Can’t wait for more Bolt.

The absolute thrill ride that is this #Boltalicious series just keeps adding more twists and turns that leaves you guess, gasping, and groaning for more. Learning to cope with new, strange, and wondrous powers has Emma being pulled in all different directions. If trying to learn how to manage her new found abilities wasn’t enough on her plate, add in to that trying to keep up a secret identity and learning to make the transition from damsel to super chick is not sitting well with everyone. Reece is bugging as his first instinct is to shield Emma from the dastardly foes that threaten them, but she’s got the goods to help him now and he needs to learn how to tamp down the alpha when it’s time to go to work. I can’t believe just how enraptured I have become in this series, and frankly fear the day it comes to an end.

Couldn’t have asked for a better book to start off the New Year, Angel Payne is an amazing writer who never disappoints with her stories. This would be my favorite book of this series to date. I love Reece and Emma even more after this book, they are absolutely the perfect couple. In this set you get thrown into a rollercoaster of emotions as it picks up where Fuse left off. Their worlds are again altered again yet they seem to overcome every obstacle that is thrown at them and I can’t wait to see what the next installment will bring this amazing couple.

Omg could this story get any better!! This is the fifth volume of the bolt series. This story kept me so into it. It’s a must read!!

Whoa! Emma now has powers and Reese had dubbed her "Flame" but wants to keep her alter-ego under wraps so Falene doesn't find out but when she shows up at their reception (oh yea, they FINALLY get married) all bets are off and Flame shows herself and Falene transports herself out of there with Emma's mom. Transports, as in disappears. Mom shows up 8 hours later and is totally different, drank the Falene Kool-aide and now is more flakey and frisky. If that isn't enough, Reese takes off to hunt down Falene and finds his dad (who supposedly died) leaving Emma at home to train with Foley. If that isn't enough, BOOM, she discovers she is pregnant and baby bean is growing at a rapid rate. Crazy happenings but so good! Who would have thought I would still be going after 15 parts and on to the next! That is what is crazy!

This volume contains shocking surprises all around. Emmalina has new tricks up her sleeve and new life in her womb. Reece gathers Intel in Spain from a most shocking source. But finding out it is booby trapped and that he is the key to opening it is almost heart stopping.
A wonderful magical wedding for our beloved Superheroes is trampled on by an evil Faline and she steals the show, along with Laurel Crist.
There are so many new implications from Faline's trickery and the contents of the information from Barcelona that the team must readjust, reengage and re-plan everything.
These developments will shake Emmalina to her core and make her question the unquestionable. They will test not only her strength but the very soul connection she has with her man. There is a major battle brewing but there is also a new life to consider for both of them to protect. Team Bolt will need all of their wits and capabilities for the coming storms.
I am so anticipating LIGHT! I love Angel Payne and I adore the Bolt Saga!

The Bolt Saga continues!! Side note: I love that it released the same day as the new Spider-Man trailer!
Surge was a fun one to read. I was looking forward to seeing Emma come into her newfound BOLTASTIC powers. It added a new dynamic to the story. Emma was finally able to understand what Reece went and is still going through.
I could go on and on about my favorite moments from this book. I LOVED that Richards’ wedding. Of course, heroes don’t get a break even on their wedding day.
There are so many twists and turns that are unexpected that it keeps you on the edge of your seat. That damn Faline always finds a way to show just how villainous she can be. Although I really don’t like Faline and her evil ways, she does help the story flow and will always bring the shock factor.
Overall, I think this was a great read that gave you what you wanted and still left you wanting more books. I swear I will never get enough of this series! Can’t wait to see what more 2019 has in store for Emma and Reece Richards.

I give Surge 5 stars! This book is probably my favorite of the series because it has action, HOT scenes, drama, and is just BOLTASTIC! You will definitely want to read this and buckle up because it will take up on a wild ride!!
