James S. Aaron is the author of nine novels and many short stories. His most recent series is the Sentience Wars: Solar War 1, written with M.D. Cooper in his Aeon 14 Universe.
He is a twelve year U.S. Army veteran, serving as a medic and later platoon leader and company commander. His novels draw heavily on his military experience, including the people, the deployments, the technology and the locales.
James lives in Oregon with his family, where he enjoys camping, hacking electronics, amateur carpentry and All Things Science Fiction. He's a member of the Science Fiction Writers of America and volunteers with his local animal shelter.
30 years on since the Lyssa survived the events started by Heartridge and an AI war, life has changed as lines havr been drawn and everything has mostly settled into a cold war standoff scenario but factions on both sides are pushing for action and again Lyssa and her weapon born will be brought into the crosshairs. Lyssa will have to stand firm and realise her potential to avoid an all out war, this is a great tie in to the events from the sentience wars and gives great background to events that are frequently mentioned in almost all the other Aeon14 books. MC and JA bring some of my favourite characters back and with no spoilers you won't be dissapointed in yet another excellent read.
This is yet another great book in the growing Aeon 14 universe. It might seem daunting to look at the list but I assure you, you will want to read them all. Thank you.
Another strong story in this co-authored series. The cold war since the events of Lyssa's Flame starts heating up in this story, and with the various entities in play it is an interesting mystery to try and determine what each party is trying to actually achieve. Lyssa, Fugia and Ngoba are good as always in this story, with their individual strengths and character flaws coming through well. The story itself is good, covering a short time frame with plenty of action and suspense.
Another winning entry for Aeon 14! Lots of action as well as thought provoking philosophy. This is not really a stand alone novel. The reader needs the background of earlier books to completely appreciate the intricacies of this story.
Another great Aeon14 book that follows more adventures of Crash, Ngoba, Fugia and Lyssa. Find out how Crash the parrot was created and what has happened to the others as war finally erupts between the humans and sentient AIs.
This is the continuation of the sentience wars in the Aeon 14 universe. While the sentience war and off in a standstill a new war will start and of course this series is called the Solar Wars.
I am personally intrigued but what is known as the AI singularity. And the Aeon 14 books gives us a good view at the complication of the singularity.
It is a good standalone story but I recommend to start from the beginning with the sentience war.

Lyssa’s Light is an intense ride from start to finish. And an excellent start to the next arc in the Aeon 14 series. With the high quality writing I’ve come to expect from M. D. Cooper.
Old friends return, as the Cold War between Psion and humanity heats. Forcing Lyssa to pick a side in the conflict.
Highly recommend this series to anyone who likes well written characters, enthralling plots, and an overall fun time.
this is the second part of a great series. if you’re this far, keep reading
I gave only 4 stars because there were long complex descriptives that I fell asleep trying to read. The characters are wonderfully and well drawn. The story has enough twists and turns to keep on intrigued. So this one is definitely worth getting through the wordy parts.
A great read, fantastic story and setup for what to come.
James S Aaron just keeps getting better and better. This story arc in the Aeon 14 verse is engaging, compelling and just a completely enjoying read, so well done!
So many twists and turns. The whole Aeon series is filled with twists. This book is no different, you can see it coming but you are still excited when it happens. Love the hole Aeon series.
Like the back story. Helps to flesh out how it all comes together. I just don't start thinking you have it figured out. The authors have enough twists and turns to create their own version of the Gordian Knot.
Quite a good book, well written although I thought that it droned on a bit too much as if the author was trying to build up the word count. I may well be wrong but that was my take.
A complex story, told from many sides. Incredibly tense with action that builds to a shocking climax. The story from Crash's perspective is extra special.
Without giving anything away, I will tell you that this is a story filled with threads for all the characters in Lyssa's Flame that move forward into the war. You don't want to skip this one!!
This was an intriguing story that I feel was needed prior to the start of the war series. It sets up players in a way that you will be able to jump into the next story.
Shorter story than the other Lyssa books. But i liked this one more. Awesome sci-fi storytelling. Loved the parrot stuff and the marsian soldiers stuff.
