Jayden refuses to stay in the closet anymore, and now that he's arrived at a large private university in California, he doesn't have to. But coming out as gay to his cocky alpha roommate isn't all that easy. Fortunately, his college roommate is more accepting than Jayden could hope. In fact, Brodie makes it his mission in life to give Jayden the tools he needs to explore his homosexuality. First, Jayden needs to start working out with Brodie at the gym.And then, once Jayden gets his body tightened up, there's new clothes, new friends, and – new rules. Rules about showering at the gym. Rules about how Jayden grooms himself. And even rules about how Jayden can please himself, and when.
Jayden doesn't really mind the rules. He even doesn't mind the punishments that come from breaking them.In fact, he starts to learn more than how to work out. He learns that he likes being submissive to alpha males, from the arrogant quarterback he tutors to the stranger he meets in the steam room, and even the nameless ROTC cadet whose lunch he buys.Jayden is built to submit, and while he struggles with the shame and fear of that discovery, he struggles more with the feelings he's developing for Brodie.
In fact, these feelings may prove his undoing, because he's not sure what the muscled, tattooed jock feels for him. Maybe he's just having fun. Or maybe it's something deeper, and even weirder, than it seems at first. But Jayden better figure it out, before the fun gets out of hand, and before he runs afoul of Brodie's rules. If he doesn't finish his training before it's too late, he might lose his self-respect, and more importantly, the arrogant, strict roommate he's quickly growing to love.
This 40,000 word gay romantic friends-to-lovers novel contains scenes of casual sex, spanking, submission and domination, consensual non-monogamy, and menage.
Thomas Carver lives the dream, with one foot in the midwest and one on the west coast. He's been seen at the opera and at the biker bar, a cocktail party and the alley behind the dumpsters. He's worked in the hot sun and the air-conditioned office, and knows all the gradations of pleasure between caviar on his tongue and sand between his teeth.
It’s Thomas Carver so what can I say? I love his books. They are hot and sexy and full of delicious kink. I’ve bought the entire series so I can’t wait for the next book. Brodie and Jayden are super characters.
The writing was good enough to keep me interested to finish the book, the characters were well formed and I felt the connection between Brodie and Jayden BUT the inconsistencies in the story line were glaring. Brodie isn’t gay but had a relationship with a guy in the past.... and so on. Also the word Fag or Faggot was used 77 times - taking it from a word that made a meaningful point to just homophobic self hatred. And finally the correlation between being a gay man and drinking piss - TWICE - was ridiculous.

I would recommend any of Carver's books, they are hidden gems that I discovered just recently, and I have been devouring his catalog.
This book is intense, and sweet in unexpected ways. Unbelievably hot, it's filed under erotica and it is definitely erotic, but there is a lot more. This is smart romance, with a nice deep dive into Jayden's head so you can feel the turns he makes. Carver is an incredibly talented author, and you won't be disappointed.
You'll also start to think some really dirty stuff about your own sex life, probably. Lean into it. ;)
Delightfully kinky. Jayden gets off on being ordered around and being used like a slut. I liked seeing him come out of his shell and his awkwardness when trying to pick up guys was adorable.
Brodie is arrogant and crude but I love how protective he is of Jayden and how he comforted Jayden when he was feeling low.
It’s fun seeing Jayden fulfill his fantasies with jock & cop alpha types. I’m a big fan of the sharing aspect when everyone’s into it. Can’t wait to pick up the next book
This turned out to be a very good romance. You may look at the title and say 'yeah yeah' as I did. But as I read on I was proven wrong. The dynamic between Jayden and Brodie was perfect. No one was taking advantage of anyone, nor were they treated badly actually. Jayden opened up a lot, his sweet introverted soul, but because of his love for Brodie he pushed himself to come out of his shell. I love his new friends too; Taran and Officer TJ. Anyway, I love this book and am looking forward to the next.
I enjoyed this tale but there wasn't tons of character development. I liked the character but would have liked to know more about both. Sex scenes were good, as well as Jayden's submission. I'll read the next books.
