Just finished reading the audible book "SUMMARY & ANALYSIS OF WHY WE SLEEP: UNLOCKING THE POWER OF SLEEP AND DREAMS" by ZIP READS and narrated by SATAUNA HOWERY. In this detailed summary and analysis of Matthew Walker's Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams, we get to dive deep into exactly how we can become more efficient and more aware of quality sleep. Very little has been documented about human sleep habits, until now. If you’ve ever wondered about the purpose sleep serves in our lives, this is a must read! We know a lot about why and how eating, hydrating, and reproducing are necessities; however, sleep has never been well researched and explained. Matthew Walker does a great job telling us exactly why sleep is so important in his book Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams. Proper rest and sleep allows us to think, learn, make rational and logical decisions. It further resets our emotions, desire to eat and drink, replenishes our immune system and aids our metabolism. Dreaming is our private brand of virtual reality where our brains remember our past, look ahead to our futures and add a good dose of the present to stimulate our creative juices. With Matthew Walker’s studies and insights, we’ll assess topics like: • The effects of alcohol and caffeine on our sleep. • REM and NREM sleep. • Sleep patterns over time. • How sleep impacts our health, moods, energy. • Are sleep aids valuable or harmful? • Can sleep prevent cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s? • Can sleep add years to our life and make us more efficient and successful? This book has made me re-booting my night owl ways! Very informative!
“Let me sleep on it.” How many times have you heard someone say that when they face a difficult decision, and just passed it off as a casual saying? The truth is, according to Matt Walker, a noted sleep scientist, and author of Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams, sleep is one of the most important activities—or lack of activity—that humans engage in. Zip Reads Summary & Analysis of this groundbreaking book unlocks its contents in a way that is easy to understand, can be read in a matter of minutes, and will make you want to know more. This handy little guide is a great time- and money-saver for the reader who wants help in winnowing the wheat from the chaff in the many books offering self-help advice. I give this one a resounding five stars, and didn’t have to sleep on that decision.
The research included in this summary validates much of what I suspected as well as so much more!! I will purchase the complete text. I appreciated the clarity of the presentation.
I’m sure the actual book (not the summary) is way better. I just couldn’t seem to commit to the full book! Glad I read the summary but the audio version wasn’t great.
