Claimed by an Alien Warrior

Rate this book
After losing her job, apartment, and boyfriend in one afternoon, Zoey doesn’t think things can get any worse. Then an uninvited passenger — green, four-armed, and sexy as sin — proves her wrong by dragging her into his frantic escape. Helping Rendash is the right thing to do, but it means becoming a fugitive and risking the only things she has left — her life, and her heart.

Weakened by years of captivity and torture, Rendash, an elite aligarii warrior, seizes his only opportunity to escape. Alone in an alien wasteland, he seeks the aid of a human — one of the very species that imprisoned him. But he finds himself inexplicably drawn to Zoey, and his need to protect her soon wars with his mission — return to his homeworld.

With a shadowy government agency pursuing them, Zoey and Rendash must race across the country before he is recaptured, and she is thrown in a dark cell as a traitor to her kind. But their greatest obstacle may be the most unlikely — their insatiable attraction to one another.

Ingredients

1 Alien Hero
- Optional (but vastly improves the recipe) Alien Hero should be distinctly different from human for example, extra appendages such as arms or eyes, or perhaps has green scales
1 Human Heroine
- Optional (but vastly improves the recipe) Human Heroine is curvy, brave and down on her luck
Handful of Evil Government Agents

Instructions

1. The Alien Hero must beat the Handful of Evil Government Agents until they are scrambled
2. Once scrambled separate the Alien Hero from the Evil Government Agents
3. Add the Alien Hero and Human Heroine to a small enclosed space, we recommend a good SUV.
4. The combination of the Alien Hero and Human Heroine will react. Warning, this will produce a lot of heat so handle with care.
5. The heat will eventually cause the Alien Hero and Human Heroine to rub together and blend to become one unit – also known as a HEA.

I can’t believe it! Tiffany Roberts managed to get a hold of my recipe (as above) and used it to create Claimed by an Alien Warrior. She followed it very closely, even adding in the optional extras, and the final product was a very tasty alien sci-fi romance.

Zoey and Ren were forced together by circumstances and chased around the country as evil government flunkies tried to track them down. Their destination was Ren’s crashed ship. Once they found it he could finally go home after years spent in captivity being experimented on. Although Zoey and Ren’s relationship didn’t start well…he did hijack her and her car after all, they quickly move past it. Zoey very quickly emphasises with Ren’s situation and agrees to help him and their romance grows from there.

This is one of those romance where the hero and heroine are couped up together, whether it’s a snowbound cabin or a long car journey it's the same principle, and so an intimacy is rapidly formed. I enjoyed seeing Zoey and Ren becoming closer and eventually an attraction begin to form despite their differences – both in looks and culture. This is something that Roberts does really well, both in this book and their previous works. They get two vastly different characters and smosh them together until they form a warm and gooey romance we can all enjoy.

The only thing that I wasn't sure of was the length of the cross country chase. I really like it at first, it added an edge of excitement and urgency to the story, which resulted in Ren and Zoey having to trust each other very quickly. However, it felt too stretched out. I would have preferred that they found Ren's craft more quickly and perhaps we spent more time on Ren's home world watching him and Zoey adjust. It would have been interesting to see Zoey being the "alien" rather than Ren. However, this didn't detract from the central focus of the book; the romance, which I very much enjoyed.

This was a great book; sexy with a dash of action and had two very likable characters. If you like an alien sci fi romance I highly recommend you pick it up and give it a try. I will now sit back in anticipation to see what this wonderful husband and wife team will give me next!

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Feels: 🦋🦋🦋
Emotional Depth: 💔💔💔
Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡⚡⚡
Romance: 💞💞💞💞
Sensuality: 💋💋💋💋
Sex Scene Length: 🍑🍑🍑🍑 (for the developed ones. There’s a number of fade to black/implied as well)
Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Humor: Yes, a bit. Especially with the alien culture shock on Earth
Perspective: Third person from both hero and heroine (alternating chapters), and a couple chapters from the villain’s perspective (Charles Stantz)

(These are all personal preference on a scale of 1-5 (yours ratings may vary depending what gives you feels and how you prefer you sex scenes written, etc) except the Steam Scale which follows our chart from A Love Less Ordinary )

Should I read in order?
This is a standalone novel!

Basic plot:
Zoey is having a very bad day and on her way traveling across the country to return home, an alien hides in the back of her car.

Give this a try if you want:
- Sci-fi romance
- Alien hero/human heroine pairing
- Full figured heroine
- One bed
- Road trip
- Hero hasn’t been kissed
- Medium to high steam – I count at least 4 full scenes plus some shorter/fade to black

Ages:
- Heroine is 27, not sure about hero

My thoughts:
I loved a lot about this story. Our hero, Ren, is so lovable and sweet. A lot of what I’ve been reading in scifi lately has had fated mates, which I love, but it also leads itself to instalove without good tension and relationship development. I liked that time was taken here and their progression felt a lot more natural to me. And the build up was exactly what I love in romance. Anyone that hasn’t read this book should just for the checkers scene and what comes after.

Zoey is a lovable heroine. She has some self doubts from her past relationship abuse, but she really blossoms with Ren. I loved them together! I also really loved their author notes. And I wasn't sure how I would feel about the ending with their obstacles but I adored the ending!

My complaint about this book (is purely personal!) was I was on high stress like the whole time. I was a bit sad almost the entire thing took place on Earth (boooo Earth). They were running from police/FBI the entire book too and I was just so anxious.

Listen, was this book ridiculous? Yes. Was it about an alien with four arms, four eyes, and scales? Also yes. But I challenge people to read this book and not enjoy the genuine emotion between Zoey and Ren. My favorite part, besides the glorious "oh no there is only one bed" moment (forced proximity for the win), was Zoey's character growth. She was beaten down at the beginning of the story and this adventure forced her to come into her own strength. Overall, this was super fun and I can see myself reading it again for sure.

I LOVED this Book!

I adored this story. I found the hero, Rendash, brave and sexy, smart, and tender. He is a hero to dream about! The heroine, Zoey, was sweet and brave and funny and I just loved her.

The plot kept me captivated and enthralled. I needed to know what happened next. The dialog between Rendash and Zoey was funny and sweet and very sexy. Definitely swoon worthy.

This story gives you everything you could desire in a romance ie; adventure, sweet smut, and edge of the seat excitement. Rendash was everything you would desire in a sexy alien hero. And you get your HEA.

I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to everything by Tiffany Roberts in the future!

As other reviews have mentioned, Zoey (h) is plus size and has some negative self-image issues because of her body, specifically after her boyfriend cheats on her. Even though I wasn't crazy about the focus on her body, I did love that Rendash (H) loves everything about how Zoey looks and makes that clear. But the primary focus of the book is on their dash across the country to get Rendash to a potential escape ship because while Zoey's escaping a rotten relationship, he's just escaped from government experimenters. Along their impromptu road trip (that starts as forced but quickly becomes voluntary helping), Zoey and Rendash had some great connection and relationship development. Written in third person, multi-POV (including villain). No ow/om drama (the story does start with h in a relationship but that quickly ends as she catches him cheating) and neither were virgins.

Even though the attraction was very quick between the main characters, they take their time with crossing into intimacy, which I appreciated. Zoey thinks he'll be flying back to his planet and is worried about starting something with him and does push away at times. Still, once the steamy times start, there's several scenes and some nifty equipment being handled. Typical of these authors' books, Zoey and Rendash are nicely fleshed out characters and they fit well together outside of the bedroom too. There were some cute scenes with food and watching movies.

Rendash was tortured and lost his team prior to the start of the book so some heavy themes are touched on in addition to the self-image issues. There was a real sense of both main characters wanting something deeper and having been denied it so I thought it was great what they found in each other, even though they were a human and an alien. Some danger and violence in the present are also interspersed in the book when they have encounters with the bad guys. Most of the story though is the two of them on the lam.

The book does end on a HEA with an epilogue that was very sweet and had nice closure. I do think the story lagged a bit at times and was maybe a touch too long, but I liked it a lot and the main characters were caring and good people so seeing them get to that HEA was lovely.

I've had this book on my TBR for a while! I loved the cover art, but I wasn't all that intrigued by the blurb, so I kind of just forgot about it. Now that I finally got to read it, I don't regret picking it up. I had a very good time following Zoey and Rendash.

What I liked about Zoey was how human she was. She struggled with her weight, her self-image, had doubts and fears, etc. There was always good reasoning to her actions. On the day she met Rendash, she was at her absolute lowest (lost her job, her rent was due with a notice of eviction, found her boyfriend cheating on her, and other shit on that pile of shit) and so, I wasn't surprised on how well she dealt with having an alien in her backseat. The girl has nothing else to lose, her day literally can't get any worse. She was selfless, kind and strong in her own way.

“She’d always been on the plump side, with a larger backside and thighs, heavier breasts, and a little extra around her middle.”

As for Rendash, super cool hero. I loved that he had powers. The fact that he could cloak himself to be invisible really helped the plot. I think it would've made the adventure much more tedious if they were forced to stay in the wild or something. The fact that he could hide in plain sight gave them the opportunity to stop at motels and gas stations on their road trip. I loved how protective he was of Zoey and also the fact that he found her attractive no matter her size. To him she was beautiful, and it was really heartwarming to see them fall in love. Also, I don't know if that's because I'm so used to weird Alien-Human romances, but his appearance was actually pretty hot. I mean, some people may be put off by a male with four muscular arms, but hey, I say he can do a lot with that!

“I will always see you, kun’ia. And you are beautiful.”

Anyway, I loved their chemistry, the road trip was entertaining enough; it allowed them to get to know each other. Character development was pretty sweet also. I think the action at the end was nice, but I would've liked a couple more chapters just to conclude the story in a smoother way. Other than that, pretty solid book.

Am I the only one who is genuinely surprised every time alien-sci-fi smut delivers on plot?

It was only after I finished the book that I found out these guys also wrote Make Me Burn and quite frankly, I would have never given this a shot had I known it before. Not my best experience, yeah.

So pleasantly surprised, this was so much better. I enjoyed the writing. It wasn't just fluff, smut and steam. Things actually happened and now I'm looking forward to checking out more books from the duo.

I would have stopped reading this book, but I downloaded it among others for post-op and didn't have anything else left to read.

So mister alien-aligator ... I mean aligarti, escapes US military experimentation and runs into down-on-her-luck waitress. OK, seems like a believable meet-up with an alien :)
What bothered me was the interactions and behaviors of the two main characters, because they didn't seem plausible to me. Alien guy is an 'honorable warrior' who has trained as such since a child. He is all about honor, selflessness, control, etc. I get breaking into an unoccupied vacation home in the dead of winter to stay alive while being pursued. I don't get drinking a $200 bottle of wine from said home because 'hey, the owners are rich, they can afford it and we can't.' Maybe that's me applying my sense of what is honorable to an alien culture ... but his cursing out other drivers on highways says very little about his control as an elite warrior :P Those are two out of multiple examples of choices and behaviors in the book that bothered me.

On a separate thing. The patronization was notable in this. Yeah 'little human' could be considered a term of endearment. But not talking to her about deciding to bring her along when he left Earth so as not to "trouble her" smacks of the stereotyped phrase "don't worry your pretty little head about it." Ug. There was also the part where she tells him to do something (the standard 'save yourself' sacrifice) and he says it's not up to her because now its 'us' (so they do what he decides ... not a discussion and joint decision).

This was epic and exciting and adventurous and hella smutty.

I loved everything about it. There wasn't a time I felt bored or skimmed. I devoured each and every word. It ended WAY too soon. I could easily binge an entire series featuring these aliens, girls like Zoey, written by Tiffany Roberts.

For sure an alien romance to stand out against all the other alien smut I've read this year.

I decided to pick this novel up as part of the Romanceopoly 2020 challenge and no one is more surprised about that decision than me.

I do read paranormal romances to some degree but without a doubt, this book was outside of my 'typical' comfort zone. Yes, I've read romance novels that have included aliens but with those novels, the aliens took on a somewhat human-like appearance. With this novel, although the character can make himself invisible, his usual form is green and scaled with four arms, four eyes, and some distinguishing differences to his....ahem...anatomy.

As this novel is far from what I usually read, it was a difficult novel to give a star rating to. I settled on a three star rating because I did like the story, I just had to suspend my disbelief to a whole other level.

There were quite a few steamy scenes but I will add on an additional caveat: expect some differences to what would occur in human relationships. For those that have read this book and need a reminder, all I will say is this: lily petals.

It was an odd experience but I'm glad that I read something different for me. I'm sure some people will LOVE this novel but I'm somewhere in the middle.

Sweet FMC has to save strong MMC

The beginning of this book felt a bit rocky to me, but it flowed better as the book continued. The MCs had good chemistry and a fast paced love story because they were fleeing for their lives. I thought parts of the epilogue were a bit over the top, but it was definitely a HEA.
I’m a sucker for sweet FMCs and Zoey was 100% sweet. Ren, our alien MMC, was also fairly sweet and tender, given their rough beginning.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: abduction, mentions of torture and captivity, violence

Loved the idea, just not the story.....

Honestly I wasn’t a fan of Zoey at all and the struggle to get Ren back to his ship and off the planet 🌍 for be should have ended by at least 40*50% sooner than it ....
Most definitely NOT at a little after 90%....
The story felt incomplete the way it held on to escaping earth as long as it possibly could soo we end going straight to leaving the planet and it’s galaxy to the epilogue where they are not settled and happy on Ren’s planet....
Aaaaaaaaaaaaa,seriously ?
Don’t get to see them out in space together ? See what Zosy thinks of leaving her planet behind ? No crazy hijinks out in space ? We don’t get to see Zoey seeing Ren’s planet and netting his ppl or their reaction to her? His ppl meeting a human for the first time ?
But I do get to see an often rather clueless woman/girl on what feels like one endless car chase? Where said clueless girl is the run with an alien trying to keep him from human monsters ?
When I saw Tiffany Roberts had out a new book I was excited but ,yeah, but while they are the type of writers ( type writers 😂) that even their “worst” is better then most you might see at their best,I was skimming by 60% and was more then ready when the end came.... huzzah!!!!! The long slog was over...
Sorry but it how I felt...
I never really came to like Zoey,(while I was touched by the writers note at the end as to why she wrote Zoey the way the did ) she just never worked for me...
Ok,first off I’m really sick and tired of all the lil “Job ette’s “ ( you know Job from the Bible )( who lost everything basically to see if he’d remain faithful to God or if he’d curse him for all he’d lost) who have lost their families,love,job’s/careers, roof over their heads, spouse/bf caught cheating, you name it’s either happened or about to happen but why ?
Why does their story HAVE TO start misery or pain or a pity party ?
I’m sick of it and it only makes me feel for the h if I think she’s handling it in a good or common sense kinda way...
When the h is going home just fired from a lousy job she loathed that barely paid her enough to scrape by,to a place she doesn’t want to enter because she’s not eager to see a boyfriend she loathes and doesn’t really care about ,I’m starting to defer unsure ...
She’s goes in only to find her 30 year old man child not only has earned them and evection notice by wasting his time playing video games and drinking beer and eating pizza he’s also cheating on her on her bed,....deep sigh....
Ok...
What do I want to see then ? I want to see her kick him to the curb like she did but also grab all the games and stuff he spent HER money on instead of paying bills ( I mean she knew he was a loser, for how he treated her alone ,why on earth did she trust him?) ,took and pawned it then with some plan in place go off to stay w/her friend like she was aiming for ...
I’d also liked to have seen Zoey up some more along the way,and to feel like she’d learned from her past w/that D nugget , instead of using the ex’s “your too fat to be attractive” to rule her life and actions ....and using the fact that Ren was leaving eventually to keep her from truly enjoying his company and what they both wanted til over 60% of the book...
Not I get where Tiffany is coming from on self esteem and weight, but there wasn’t really enough there for her actions to make sense to me...
Sigh kept hanging on excited for the moment where they’d FINALLY leave the planet and we’d finally get to see Ren in his element and see a new adventure begin and see what happens when Zoey gets to his home world 🌎... but sadly we’re cheated out of all of that ,just what feels like one l o n g chase scene beginning and end w/a layover at someone’s winter cabin hiding out in between.....
I will be back but not as eagerly ....
Very disappointed here...

Well this was funny in parts and heart wrenching in others. The story of what Rendash is sad but I'm glad he met Zoey. Their adventure to his ship was full paced. I loved all the humor within the book and the characters. A great book for anyone who's looking for something a little different.

I find it funny that in my experience plot lines with aliens escaping human captivity is more of a movie trend than a book one. The vast majority of this book takes place on a Earth as Rendash tries to locate his long lost ship all while avoiding the recapture from the human government. The same government who’d tortured him and killed his comrades. I loved all the alien traits like invisibility aka cloaking and skills with electronics Rendash has. He first meets Zoey when he climbs into the backseat of her car at a rest stop in the middle of nowhere. Talk about the makings of a horror film lol. Zoey doesn’t take too long to accept Rendash with his enticing scales and all seeing four eyes. Of course by him involving her, she too is no longer safe and the two travel the country heading to where he believes his ship to be. The two don’t take long to start side eyeing aka eye F’ing one another and it doesn’t take them long to give in to their carnal pleasures. Zoey thinks she’s just in need of affection after finding her scummy ex with another girl. He point blank told her ‘she didn’t do it for him’ so Zoey doesn’t initially believe Rendash’s intentions. Somewhere along the way she throws her inhibitions away and the only thing standing between them is him inevitably leaving the planet and her behind. Alien or not like a typical man-Rendash finds it hard to communicate with Zoey and the two have to figure out what’s important to them. The damn epilogue was awesome. Overall I really enjoyed the book, the action was exciting and the sex and chemistry was hot. There’s a lot to be said about a man with four arms lol 😘😘😘

I have read most of Tiffany Roberts books, so you could say I am a fan.  When I saw that the writing duo released an Alien Romance book I was all over it.  This right here is my favorite genre.  Not to mention their alien is an actual alien, not just a larger human with a different color skin.  The cover is an almost perfect depiction of Rendash.  He just needs to be much much larger compared to Zoey.  But other than that, it is stunning and honestly what caught my eye.

Zoey is a BBW waitress who has just been fired and to top it off just caught her live in mooch of a boyfriend cheating on her.  She’s had the day from hell.  He gives her self-esteem a devastating shot, and she’s had enough and decides to pack up and head back home to Iowa.

Rendash crash landed with a group of other alien warriors, and after humans experiments on them for years he is the last survivor.  On a one in a million chance, he manages to escape his bonds during transport and flee.  During his escape is when he captures Zoey to help him.

The story was simultaneously thrilling and sizzling.  I think this is by far Tiffany Roberts most erotic book to date and I loved every minute of it.  But beyond that, it had an incredible story of love and acceptance.
“When he looked at her, she felt like she was enough, like she was more than enough. Like she was everything.”

It is incredibly difficult being a larger woman in today's society, so reading a book where she is accepted for who she is is beautiful.
“I see you.” He cupped her cheek and guided her face back to his. “I will always see you, kun’ia. And you are beautiful.”
This story brought tears to my eyes a few times, and I didn’t want to put it down.  I loved every second of it.  I am giving it 5 Boundless stars, and I hope to see more from this world.  It is too good.

Road trip! Pack light and bring a friend

Green? Check. Four arms? Check. Crazy ears and fangs? Check. Odd number of digits? Check. You have completed your alien checklist! On the beginning of a road trip after a horrible day Zoey, unknowingly, picks up an intergalactic hitchhiker. Escaping after years of imprisonment and torture, Rendash is weak but uses the last of his strength to hide in an Earth vehicle to get away from his pursuers. What is officially the lowest points in their lives soon becomes an enjoyable adventure... aside from the, er, manhunt, attempted arrests, unwelcome roadside assistance, and bullets flying. Ren's original plan of making it back to his transport has altered and Zoey is realizing that her home is more a who than a where.

I love Tiffany Robert's kraken series so was excited to see this in her lineup. Her characters are not cookie cutters rewritten a hundred times with little variation. Zoey isn't a perfect princess, a broken woman or anything else so dramatic. She's simply down on her luck and looking to tread water till she can swim again. Ren is not just a technicolored human with similar culture and ideals. His way of life is different, his society has different standards and concepts. I would have loved to see more about them but his questions and responses in conversation give you some clues. It would be interested to see this world expanded on. This war they're in, how did it get started? The culture of training so young, the castes, their technology, all of this and more. But the fact that her heroines aren't TSTL and the males aren't egotistical jerks means that I will return to this author's work frequently. The world building is just icing on the cake. 😁

This had a lot of potential but the romance didn't feel convincing, the story was too dragged out, the sex scenes were boring, and there wasn't enough information to understand Ren's world. The cross-country chase should have been trimmed down (I was SO BORED) and instead I wish we had seen how they adapted to being in Ren's world. Some of the plot was incredibly convenient - . I found the sex scenes thoroughly unsatisfying, particularly as it sounded . Overall, kind of a letdown.

Great book. Excellent story with a wonderful plot!

What woman hasn't gone through a day where everything that can possibly go wrong does? Well for Zoey it does. She loses her job, finds out her unemployed boyfriend has been cheating on her from day one and she's being kicked out of her apartment. What follows is a story of finding a man, a four armed green skinned alien who needs help to find his ship and the journey of love, crossing state lines and later the galaxy.

One thing I really appreciated with this book is that Ren, the alien, watched porn. I've never really thought about the difference in sexual practices alien men and human woman have to confront because in all the books the alien makes just seem to know how to give good D. It's good for him to see what women like especially since it has been at least 4 years since he's touched anyone.

The other thing is the action scenes. I was actually blown away when Ren ripped though the police officers. MOst romance tend to overemphasize violence towards women like it's some turn on rather then showing the protective aspects of violence like when you are surrounded by helicopters and vans of shooting
men you need to handle your business which is what Ren did. Go him!

Totally a big aside but if you liked this book i would totally recommend Venomous and Lips Like Ice.

This book needs a warning label, something like DO NOT READ ON A WEEKDAY or something, there I was 5:00AM in the morning on a Wednesday, promising myself “5 more min and then we go to sleep” 20 min later… Another twist! And I can't stop reading because, I just need to know what is going on!!

Please tell me that is going to be second book!! some twist with Zoey best friend or something.

Eh. An alien with four arms and four eyes with a beyond creepy disposition. A weird human woman with same said creepy disposition. Not my cup of tea, thanks. The only thing that I found mildly interesting is that this creepy duo drove through Utah on their tryst, and that's where I hail from. But that's it. Nothing else about this book was any sort of decent. Save your time and read something else. Unless four-armed aliens are your thing, then by all means.

First let me say that even though it wasn’t for me you might enjoy/like it… I didn’t really enjoy this book, I thought it was going to be better. I was bored throughout the book and struggled to finish it. I didn’t really care for Zoey the main character, Rendash was okay. The entire ending was predictable from the beginning and her getting pregnant was pretty much given away during one of the intimate scenes about halfway through.

Unbelievably adorable!

This is now my all time favorite alien romance book!!!

A curvy, sassy, delightful heroine & an intelligent, thoughtful alien on a road trip from the West coast to the East coast. The plot isn't the best but overall it's well done and I was here for it. Ok this was freaking g fantastic.

I really enjoyed this!
The banter between Ren and Zoey was good, the chemistry was really hot! the "lily" reference to a private part made me chuckle and picture it of course!! LOL

This was a reread for me. I’m not exactly sure when I read it the first time, just that it was a bunch of years ago. From what I remember, I think it was one of the first books that got me interested in alien romances.
It’s a fun read, and it totally stuck with me. Some of it, anyway.
I just really enjoyed the humor and dedication displayed throughout from both characters.
I’m glad I found it again after so long.

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: alien
Angst: 😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

This was such a fun book! A little slower in the beginning, but definitely sped up as it went on. It was sweet and funny with the perfect amount of drama and action to see you through till the end.
