Memory: Techniques to Train Your Brain, Retain More and Maximize Your Mental Capacity

Rate this book
It is said though that good memory, like a vivid photo that yellows over time, soon fades. How many times have you rushed into a room with purpose and then forget why? How many times have you gone to the grocery store to pick a few items and then realize upon getting home that you forgot to buy the most important item you went to the store for in the first place? Everybody, particularly those hitting late adulthood has these moments. To comfort ourselves, we jokingly brush aside these episodes to “just having senior moments.”

But young people also fall victim to forgetfulness, missing such important occasions as birthdays and anniversaries or essential information like a telephone number or a street address. We cannot, therefore, swiftly conclude that young and fit people have a monopoly on good memory. While there are kids that could recite all the non-metal elements in the Periodic Table, or at least parrot the factors of 7 in the multiplication table, there are also individuals in their late adulthood that could easily complete a difficult-level crossword puzzle or utter by heart the Preamble to the Constitution.

It is safe to say that all of us, regardless of age, fall prey to poor memory. The good news is that there are ways we could give our brains the workout it needs to keep our memory as sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, and to do just that, you need this book.
