...ismos. Para Entender o Cinema

Existem muitas formas de se estudar a chamada sétima arte. Aqui, ela é analisada sob o prisma de seus variados ismos, e não segundo a classificação mais tradicional, por gêneros. Dentro dessa perspectiva mais ampla, o autor – o jornalista Ronal Bergan – classificou alguns dos maiores filmes da história de acordo com os principais movimentos que delinearam a trajetória do cinema, desde as pioneiras experiências dos irmãos Lumière e de Georges Méliès. Sem pretensão de ser um ranking do tipo "cem melhores filmes", o livro busca abarcar, com seus 51 ismos, a diversidade da produção cinematográfica internacional. Nomes alinhados com o chamado "cinema de autor", como Federico Fellini, Akira Kurosawa e Glauber Rocha, convivem aqui com produtos típicos do mainstream de Hollywood, com a politização do cinema soviético, com o experimentalismo das vanguardas europeias do início do século XX, com a vitalidade dos filmes asiáticos do século XXI. O leitor passa a entender como cada ismo surgiu, quais foram seus diretores, temas e obras mais representativos, e quais suas contribuições para o desenvolvimento do cinema, como linguagem artística e, também, em termos de negócios. Listas de filmes alinhados com cada ismo acompanham cada texto, bem como fotos de cenas e pôsteres de obras representativas do movimento cinematográfico em questão.

Rather a book to browse through when you need certain info than something to read cover to cover. There's a ton of very condensed information and there's titles galore.

There's also a "other works" section where they mention titles related to the ism discussed, and these can also be from a different time period. So it also shows examples of how a certain ism influenced later movies. Albeit it's not the best way to convey this kind of information.

Also when they mention key figures you don't know if they're directors, writers, actors, etc, so you do have to do extra research for every ism covered. Inconvenient but hey, it's a slim book.

I only recommend this to cinema enthusiasts if you find a bargain price for it, as I did. There's probably other options, with a more clear and organized structure.

Veel typfouten, veel stijlfouten. Weinig essentiële informatie. Sommige informatie is in mijn mening niet juist. Het is wel leuk om door te bladeren maar dit zou niet HET boek zijn waardoor je films leert kennen.

یادش بخیر قدیما خوندم ، کیفیت صفحات کتاب بشدت بالاست و بشدت عالی برای ایسم های سینمایی . البته اگه قیمتش در حال حاضر بشدت بالاست پیشنهاد نمیکنم .

I borrowed this book from the library, hoping to learn something about cinema, but it was utterly dissappointing. It reminded me of the papers I had to write when I was ten: I used to pick a subject like 'Herbs and Spices' and just added all the random bits of information that I could find until it had the right size, then added a lot of pictures to make it look better. Also like my first papers this book barely has any coherence; it's just listing of (sub)genres and that makes it really boring and NOT interesting to read. Better just watch the movies!

Not exactly what I was expecting and rather incomplete. Each section has simply the basics-- literally nothing else. It was informative from a vocabulary perspective, but overall, it was not a book I will run back to time and time again for entertainment sake.

Moc mi tahle kniha nesedla, čekala jsem trochu jiné rozvržení a náplň. Spíš pro 100% fandy odborníky, né pro mě jako laika, který má rád i mainstream.
