A Hearts Entwined Novel

An accident crushed Duncan’s Olympic dreams and landed him in a chair, but he knows it’s time to get his life back on track—and he has a plan in mind. Working with his friend Todd, an Olympic skeleton racer, on a promotional campaign will not only help Duncan regain some direction, but it’ll give Todd the financial boost he desperately needs. The sport Todd loves is draining his resources—so much so that he’s thinking of giving up racing just to make ends meet.

As the two men work together, their friendship blossoms into much more, and suddenly the future is looking brighter than it has in a long time. But just when love, happiness, and success seem within their grasp, the USOC steps in with plans to stop their campaign. That’ll mean an end not just to Duncan’s business, but to Todd’s dreams… and Duncan isn’t about to let that happen to the man who means everything to him.

Duncan Masters was a skeleton racer working towards an Olympic dream, but after a training run accident he's left paralyzed and at the beginning of Heart Untouched is trying to figure out what he's going to do next with his life.

His friend, Todd Hamilton (who is also a skeleton racer and Olympic hopeful) ends up helping him navigate his new world and they fall in love. Duncan tries not to, afraid that he will be bringing Todd down and into a life of servitude because of Duncan's limitations, but Todd's always had a thing for Duncan and isn't about to allow him to slip away.

The tension in Heart Untouched mainly comes from the United State Olympic Committee (USOC): an organization which is supposed to support Olympic hopefuls, but makes their top administrative people rich with millions each year and basically financially supports the shinier sports to a much larger degree leaving most other Olympic athlete hopefuls who compete with crippling debt.

There's little angst between Todd and Duncan because, once Duncan stops fighting it, they fit together like two perfect puzzle pieces.
“I don’t see the chair. Just the man in it.”

I loved Duncan and Todd, and once again I love Andrew Grey's inclusivity of differently-abled characters and how they navigate life just like everyone else, with a few modifications.

The only things I didn't care for was it seemed like the only women in the story are either saints or crazy, which made me a bit sad, and that there really weren't descriptions of the characters. At one point we learn Duncan has a red beard, which I took to mean he was a ginger - but I realized after finishing and thinking about it for a bit that neither Duncan or Todd are ever actually really described. I wanted details. What do they look like? How old are they?

Also though the ending is solidly, sweetly happy, it did leave me with a few questions.

Heart Untouched is a sweet romance with dual, third-person, POV romance, a nice pace, with low angst and a lovely happy ending.

This is the book I liked less in this series.
It's typical Andrew Grey's, really sweet (sometimes sappy and cheesy) and nice, but I had hard time connecting to the mcs (Duncan in particular).
In the end this book is a nice one to read if you likenice and almost drama free stories, but this author has written better books 😉

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars because still no 1/2 stars here on GR and GT once should always round up when GT is involved...full review to follow soonish!

Fact is...I like Andrew Grey...

and when you add Greg Tremblay as the narrator to one of his stories what you get is several hours of listening enjoyment. Admittedly I think Mr. Tremblay could read a dictionary and make it sound like one of the best stories you've heard in a long time...I kid you not and I'm sure that several of my friends who like audio books would back me up on that statement. The man is just that damned good.

I've read quite a few books by Andrew Grey and now I'm quite enjoying myself by working my way through the titles that are being released on audio...so opportunity knocked and like the good little audio book enthusiast that I've become of course I answered the door.

'Heart Untouched' is book #3 in the 'Hearts Entwined' series and we've met both Duncan and Todd in previous stories as minor characters but now it's their turn to make a grab for the brass ring. Duncan's trying to get his life back on track after a sporting accident that's left him confined to a wheelchair...his dreams of Olympic gold are now dust in the wind, while Todd's still chasing that dream he's also got another dream that he's not willing to give up and that's a dream of having more than just friendship with Duncan, but he also wants to help his friend find a new direction for his life one that helps him to use what Todd knows is a hella' creative mind.

The relationship between Duncan and Todd was my absolute favorite thing about this story. I loved the bond of friendship that they started with and that Todd was so determined to help Duncan and how he was doing this. He never tried to tell Duncan what he had to do but he was supportive and encouraging of the fact that he believed in Duncan and that he had the ability to do whatever it was that he set his mind to. Todd's patience and persistence in his efforts to make Duncan see that he loved Duncan spoke volumes to the strength of both his love and their friendship.

The conflict and tension in this story was essentially created by Duncan's problem with a former friend and problems that were created for Todd by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and this was the part of the story that allowed us to once again see how the men at the garage come together as family to care and protect each other.

'Heart Untouched' is a light and enjoyable read/listen with a solid story to it and while it's not as emotional or intense as some books for me it fulfills it's goal which is to read/listen to a story has entertained me and leaves me feeling good...mission accomplished.

Audiobook review

For some books it’s almost impossible to write a review, for various reasons. The book could have been so good that it left you unable to form words, let alone coherent sentences. Then there are the books on the opposite side of the spectrum, the ones you regret reading/listening to, the ones, where you can’t seem to find a single nice thing to say. You can lack words for a myriad of reasons. This time and for this book I have that problem, not because the book was good or bad, but because it was neither. It didn’t make me feel anything, good or bad. It was a middle road kind of book, a story we’ve all seen and heard before. No real conflict or drama, and no real emotions evoked in the listener. I felt uninspired and wanted something more.

I should have loved this book, or at the very least really enjoyed it. I mean a main character in a wheelchair and narration by Greg Tremblay? It’s has my name in it, I could hear it calling a mile away. That feeling of eagerness and anticipation left me as soon as I started listening and I have no real explanation of why. Listening to stories with survivors or disadvantaged characters usually inspire me. I’m drawn to their strength, they humble me. That never happened with this book. There wasn’t much going on plot-wise and the blurb is a pretty good summary of it. It was low-key and mostly drama free. There was some attempt at creating some drama at the end of the book, but it felt lacklustre at best and only as a plot device. Because once we get to the happily ever after, or for now as the case might be, that part is still left unresolved.

Greg Tremblay is a wonderful performer and narrator, we all know that. But even his talent couldn’t bring this book beyond mediocre. It lacked passion and feeling and sadly failed to connect the listener to the story and the main characters. I have no clue if that was all on my part or the book in general. I do love Tremblay’s voice so that’s always a reason to keep listening to his narrations.

This was, supposedly, a feel-good and fluffy romance, nothing wrong with that I like fluff as much as the next girl. But when I do read these kinds of stories, I want to feel the warmth, the love, the fluff, and I just didn’t. Didn’t feel much of anything if I’m being honest – which I guess is the point of an honest review. However I did enjoy the first two books in this series, so I’m sticking with it and hope the next one will make more of an impression.

Audiobook provided by the publisher through Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words in exchange for an impartial review.

Duncan was an Olympic hopeful when his skeleton sled crashed in training, and he ended up paralyzed and wheelchair bound, likely for life. Instead of wallowing in self-pity he decides to use some of his marketing talent to help his friend Todd, also an Olympic-level skeleton racer, earn money to pay his way in the costly sport. The author explains, on several occasions, that the US athletes in many sports, especially the little-known sports, have to pay for much of their expenses, travel, and training on their own. In fact, in some places in the story, the dialogue is quite forceful and anti-IOC. Since this was in audio format, it may be that the narrator emphasized some of these segments, but I suspect it was as the author intended. I once met him and heard him say that he often gets inspiration for his stories from real-life news stories so I have no doubt the plight of Olympic level athletes is as stated in the story.

However, I digress. This story is about the relationship that develops between Todd and Duncan as they work together to help Duncan become more mobile and independent. Slowly, they begin to act on their attraction, and also slowly, Duncan’s body begins to respond to Todd’s stimulus. Those who’ve read Andrew Grey know that the MCs are going to be sweet and sincere and will end up with their dreams coming true or on the way to coming true and their lover will be with them for a hard-won HEA.

Characters from the previous stories in the series are present for this one and narrator Greg Tremblay does an outstanding job of bringing the story to life. I’d tag this one: #men with disabilities, #winter Olympic sports, and #HEA.

Heart Untouched is the third book in the Hearts Entwined series by Andrew Grey. I greatly enjoyed the first two books in the series. I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first two. I just couldn’t connect with the main characters as much. The writing was just as good as the first two, and it had a good storyline, but for whatever reason, I just didn’t like the characters as much. But it won’t keep me from reading the next book in the series which I’m hoping will be about Dean and Lee.

I liked Duncan, but he sometimes comes off as whiny, negative, and self-loathing. Not that he didn’t have every right to be when his Olympic dreams were crushed by a bad accident that left him in a wheelchair. He has to relearn how to do everything again, including being independent. He lost most of his friends after his accident. He does still have his friend Todd, who’s also an Olympic skeleton racer, and a couple of people that he made friends with during physical therapy. Since he can’t fulfill his dreams of being on the podium, he’s determined to help his friend Todd achieve his. When Todd mentions that the garage he works at is interested in an advertising/promotional campaign, it’s right up Duncan’s alley since he went to college for marketing and promotion. He has the brilliant idea to use Todd as the spokesperson for the garage chain. Not only will the campaign help Duncan regain some direction in his life, but it’ll hopefully give Todd the financial boost he desperately needs.

I liked Todd more than Duncan. He refused to give up on having a relationship with Duncan even when Duncan refused since he didn’t know if his equipment down south would ever regain its function. I loved when Todd said that loving somebody was more than just the physical side of things. I loved that he loved Duncan unconditionally. He also set up a couple of go-fund-me campaigns to help with expenses. I really enjoyed when the book was in his POV. He was such a patient, sweet, kind, and generous person, which was definitely needed as Duncan needed lots of reassurance.

I also loved how supportive everybody was when they ran into opposition during the campaign. I also like getting to see the other characters from the first two books and how they were doing. I’m hoping to see more of Todd and Duncan in future books as well.

I can’t wait to see if Todd manages to get a medal at the Olympics and I can’t wait to see who Lee ends up with. Overall, Heart Untouched is a great addition to the Hearts Entwined series.

> > Judging a Book by its Cover < <
Split Screen fade design with two men kissing on the upper half and a man in a wheelchair in the lower corner. Bold, legible title and author name. Synopsis promised to be as good as the other two books in this series.

> > Looking Deeper < <
POV ~> Third-person

Duncan and Todd used to compete with and against one another on the US Olympics team until a critical injury put Duncan in a chair for life. Months of rehab, confinement, and solitude are taking a toll on his well-being and his mother steps in, hoping Todd can breathe life back into her once vibrant son.
Together Todd and Duncan discover that their friendship is only the foundation to something much stronger and soon they are coaxing one another to be stronger, better, happier in all areas of life, including love. When outside sources begin conspiring against them, they learn they have a strong support network willing to fight alongside them.

Todd deserves a gold medal in patience. Duncan was not an easy one to love. He tended to dwell in negativity and doubt quite often and need more than his fair share of reassurances. But the two of them together were endearing. It was nice to see the former couples highlighted now and again. The plot kept me entertained and the writing flowed smoothly. There were some conflicts from outside sources that were mostly handled; however, I’d liked to have known what became of cray-zee Corinna. Predictability was on the low end of moderate for me.
While the ending provided a solidly given HEA, I felt like it ended mid-scene… it was SO abrupt and over with. I’m really hoping there will be more books in this series, just so we can hopefully catch up with Duncan and Todd down the road to see if the winter ad ever ran and if it was successful and what became of the racing prospect. Did Duncan gain more clients, did Albert hire him for the proposed expansion?

I just couldn’t get into the story I ended up dropping it. I wanted to finish it so bad because Greg Trembley (Burdox) was narrating and he is amazing but not even he could make me like or connect with the characters. I hope the next one is as good as the first two.

In line with the first two stories in this series, ‘Heart Untouched’ is about unanticipated, life-altering changes and how an ordinary man learns to deal with extraordinary challenges both professionally and in his personal life. While characters from earlier books play a key role, most of them working at Trevor’s garage, the focus is on their colleague Todd, a skeleton racer with Olympic aspirations, and his best friend, Duncan, a fellow athlete who has been put in a wheelchair by a sporting accident. His Olympic dreams have come to an abrupt stop, his daily life is complicated now, and as a result he doubts that he will ever be independent and in control of his life again. It’s a heartbreaking yet very uplifting story about the strength of the human spirit and how overcoming obstacles can lead to new hope.

I'm a big fan of Andrew Grey's series. He writes characters with a disability very well, conveying emotional and physical struggles with the right words and descriptions as they move through a world that is different for them than what it used to be.
Duncan's life changed after an accident caused him to lose the use of his legs. He's home and adapting but struggling to move forward with his life. Reconnecting with his friend, Todd, gives him friendship and support as well as a reason to get out of the house. Todd is in training as a Skeleton racer, hoping to get onto the Olympic team but with very little financial support, it's a dream that may not come true. Duncan has managed to pick up a client in Todd's boss, doing marketing for the garage and he comes up with the idea of including Todd hoping to give him a boost in support but the USOC tries to step in and ruin their plans.
Andrew's writing is always something that I've enjoyed reading and he just pulls you into the story, getting involved in the character's lives and invested in the outcome of the possible relationship between the MC's. Duncan and Todd are well written, given enough time with them individually and together and we get to see the development of them and how spending time together is a huge boost for Duncan especially. Duncan's story is important as a man in his twenties learning to deal with a sudden, life changing disability and the impact that it has on every aspect of his life. It's emotional reading, especially as he's dealing with the loss of mobility but also the sport he lived for.
Another big part of this story was the USOC - United States Olympic Committee - and the lack of funding towards the smaller/individual sports. Both characters talk about the impact that it has on them financially and that part, to me, was quite interesting and something different to what I've read before. It's an especially big part in the second half of the book, playing a part of deciding Todd's future.
As this book is the third in the series, we get an occasional visit from previous characters, all of which I've loved reading about and it's great to hear from them again, continuing the strong friendship and supportive roles they've all played for each other throughout the series.
I recommend this book and the series. They are all wonderful to read, full of love, friendship and support. Though we expect nothing less with an Andrew Grey story.
I received an ARC from the publisher and am happily giving a review.

Blurb:

An accident crushed Duncan's Olympic dreams and landed him in a chair, but he knows it's time to get his life back on track - and he has a plan in mind. Working with his friend Todd, an Olympic skeleton racer, on a promotional campaign will not only help Duncan regain some direction, but it'll give Todd the financial boost he desperately needs. The sport Todd loves is draining his resources - so much so that he's thinking of giving up racing just to make ends meet.
As the two men work together, their friendship blossoms into much more, and suddenly the future is looking brighter than it has in a long time. But just when love, happiness, and success seem within their grasp, the USOC steps in with plans to stop their campaign. That'll mean an end not just to Duncan's business, but to Todd's dreams...and Duncan isn't about to let that happen to the man who means everything to him.

This audiobook is classic Andrew Grey! It is a beautifully written gently rolling tale of two men who need each other and work out the path to happiness and love. Andrew writes characters with real problems and disability that are written so accurately and sensitively that any reader can connect to and enjoy the story. As a disabled reader, I felt represented without being made to feel helpless or hopeless. Duncan’s struggles were so relatable and realistic.

There was plenty of engagement in the story to keep me reading, and the characters were so well formed and charming that I was rooting for them from the start. Not officially a series, this book has characters in that overlap with Heart Unseen and Heart Unheard, both stories having a main character with a disability and they are all equally enjoyable.

Greg Tremblay is one of my absolute favourite narrators and he performs this book with the same style, grace and ability as we have come to expect form him. He is a master of his craft, giving emotion and character depth to the written word that enhances the listener’s enjoyment of what is a lovely book.

Highly recommended.

Heart Untouched is a touching tale about adapting your dreams, weathering storms, and being resilient in the face of significant loss. In this novel, we’re introduced to Duncan, a former star winter sports athlete who was injured and lost the use of his legs. The book opens a few months after the life-altering accident and Duncan is wallowing in the grief. He’s living at home with his mother again and has no direction in his life since he’s now differently-abled but also unable to pursue his passion for sledding. His mom helps him reconnect with old friend and training partner, Todd, and the sparks fly from there.

Todd was quite the likable character. Duncan, well he got better near the end (see my notes below).

While the book attempted to be emotional and sensitive, here’s why I give it 3 stars:

1 - In my opinion, Duncan’s loss focused less on being paralyzed and not being able to compete, but he seemed narrowly focused on his erectile dysfunction due to the injury. I’m a woman, so it may be an issue where I don’t understand the gravity of the problem, but there were paragraphs upon paragraphs devoted to this issue, to the point of being boring. I literally was like, welp, here we go again with this!
2 - I’ve read books with other newly paralyzed characters and there seemed to be a lot of aspects of his new life that were not addressed. Duncan’s new struggles weren’t at the forefront and, if they had been, it may have made him a more likable character. He just came off a little whiny in the beginning.
3 - Todd’s level of patience seemed unrealistic. While not explicitly stated, Duncan pushed Todd away with his negativity at almost every turn. Due to his injury, he simply could not accept Todd cared for him at face value. He didn’t want to be physical due to the potential erectile dysfunction. He questioned him and doubted him constantly. How this didn’t turn into some sort of tension plot point in the book is beyond me.
4 - The actual tension in the book, this stalker Corrina and her causing trouble for everyone was just trite. In no way was it believable and just seemed manufactured and nonsensical.

Heart Untouched is the third book in Andrew Grey’s Hearts Entwined series. This series has stories with a blind MC, a dead MC and now a MC who is paralyzed. Other than the first book, these books can be emotionally heavy as the main character is learning to accept the change in his life.

Duncan and Todd are Olympic skeleton racers and friends when an accident causes Duncan to be confined to a wheelchair with no feeling below his waist. Duncan is depressed and struggling with living at home with his mom again and being completely reliant on her. Todd comes back into Duncan’s life and forces him to see the things he can do instead of what he can’t do.

I liked Duncan and Todd. Duncan’s struggles were hard to read and were emotionally heavy but that is authentic to what he’s experiencing. And the story did a great job of showing Duncan at his low point, while slowly learning about what he can still have in life. The people in Duncan’s life were great supports.

As a person who loves the Olympics, it really gives a different viewpoint than I normally see. And anyone who has watched skeleton racers knows it’s a dangerous sport, those people are adrenaline junkies. I think the author did a terrific job in this book of showing that. I don’t know if the information about the Olympic committee is true, but it felt very authentic.

I loved seeing the couples from past stories! The one thing that never made sense to me in this story was the storyline with Corrina. All of it just felt awkward and out of place, to me. Otherwise, this was another great addition to the series!

The Olympic hopefuls help each other.... Milwaukee, WI.
Duncan had his Olympic dreams shattered

by a skeleton race crash. The redhead is struggling to find life in his wheelchair.
Todd, Olympic skeleton racer, works as a mechanic,

is training for his races, and has always liked Duncan.
They get to see each other, and talk about all that is going on since they last met. Todd had set up a GoFundMe account for Duncan, that has grown.

Duncan wants to start a marketing company, but no longer wants to do that with his old friend, but she's been pushy and annoying. He and Todd have talked about what he could do for his first job.
Trevor hires him to do a commercial and fix his website, and it's a great project.

Our men are admitting that they care for each other and slowly begin a relationship. Todd is all-in, but Duncan is reluctant, and insecure. Duncan has after effects no one knows about from his injury.

The story is holding our attention and the characters are lively. The Olympic rule makers are giving the men trouble when they found out about the commercial. Someone was hurtful and implied they were breaking rules.

Turmoil ensues and Trevor is once again the strong man who stands up to help with the false claims...

You will like the ending and epilogue.
ENJOY !

Heart Untouched is book three in the Hearts Entwined series and works well as a stand-alone. There are recurring Characters that link it to the series and I loved seeing all the other guys!
Duncan and Todd are skeleton racers with the dreams of being in the winter Olympics. A terrible accident puts Duncan in a wheelchair with little to no feeling in his legs.
Duncan and Todd have been friends for a long time and Todd has come back into Duncan's life. Duncan is trying to start an advertising business and goes to talk to Todd's boss where he meets the other guys. Some are blind or deaf and still working and enjoying life.

Todd is working at the garage and loves it but his real dream is the Olympics. He wants Duncan and is determined to help him find his worth and et over his negativity.
I loved both Todd and Duncan. Especially Todd. I adored how he was so persistent and never gave up on Duncan. and how he took care of his mom as well. I like Duncan because I did feel sorry for him but a few times I wanted to shake him and tell him to get over himself and just love Todd.!
The storyline is good. I enjoyed it and was eager to see what happened next as we went along.
The end was satisfying there were a few questions left in my mind.
If you like a slow burn, friends to lovers, Olympic sports, physically challenged men and a sweet romance you will love this.

4 Stars!

Todd and Duncan have been friends for several years and have both been trying to make it onto the Olympic team. Duncan's dream comes crashing down when he's badly injured. He is struggling with his recovery and what's next. This story starts months after the accident with Duncan's mom taking him to see Todd at work.

I really liked Todd. He was a great friend to Duncan and incredibly patient with him. I loved that he gave Duncan the gentle nudge he needed to start up his own business. I enjoyed watching Duncan realize that he was more than his disability and start moving forward with his life. Unfortunately, I felt a bit lost by the way that Michael and Corrina were introduced to the story. I felt like I was missing something important and should have known more about them than I did. While I was happy to see things work out and everyone rally around Todd and Duncan in their time of need, I felt like the confrontation with Corrina left too much open.

All in all, I enjoyed this book. It had a great cast of supporting characters that included Duncan's roommates and fellow Olympic hopefuls. If you've read the other books in the series, we get to see glimpses of most everyone from the other books.

I love this series from Andrew Grey! He features characters with disabilities but he does not limit or pity these characters, they are strong and Duncan is no exception. He was injured in a skeleton accident that left him unable to walk, he’s back living with his mother and struggling to come to terms with what happened to him. But then his friend, and fellow skeleton racer, Todd comes by to say hi and get Duncan back out into the world. Todd’s presence brings so much to Duncan but as the two go beyond friendship Duncan worries if he is enough for Todd.

One of my favorite things about Andrew Grey is the sincerity of his characters and I felt that so much with Todd. He is such a good person with a beautiful heart. He has his own goals and dreams and yes, he’s working on those, but he does so much to show Duncan how much he loves him and encourages him and keeps building him up – he totally stole my heart! I loved these guys and I loved their journey, the way they fight for each other and support each other. This is one of those reads that just made my heart happy (something that Andrew Grey has just mastered!) and while they face challenges, they handle them together. I loved getting to see the guys from the previous books as well, always makes me smile. Another fantastic read from Andrew Grey and a wonderful addition to this series!

It was a very nice, typical Andrew Grey read.
I liked the series, the premise that disability should not define you and there are people out there who are able to see past the obvious.
I've learned new things about how Olympic Committee operates and can sympathize with the athletes who are left in financial straits if they are not a part of the most popular sports.
After all, these people are risking lifelong physical injuries on a top of financing themselves for a chance to compete.

I'd have loved this story much more if the tension has come from Duncan's actual experiences coping with the disability and how different his everyday routine now is. I'd imagine it's not easy for a fit, active person with a lot of drive and pride to depend on other people for basic things.
And this plot with Corinna was unnecessary. This is a standard trick to put a crazy villain woman as the main conflict point to overcome. Almost every Andrew Grey's book has either most understanding women ready for sainthood to balance crazy witches from hell.
This book had enough of real live drama to make for emotional roller coaster without derailing toward crazy.
Todd was wonderful and I loved the romance part.

This book was classic Andrew Grey, opened it and only put down because life interfered. Five stars, couldn't have been better.
Duncan is trying to find his way in a world that just got harder. In a bad accident on the Skeleton run, he hurt his back. Foe now no walking, life in a wheelchair is heard to get used too. But when a friend for the team gets reaches out.... a business opportunity presents its self, along with love. If he can see past the damaged nerves he's dealing with and see the man Todd sees.
Todd still has dreams of making the Olympic team. But money us tight in an Olympic athletes world, and he us seriously thinking of quitting as the dept keeps piling up. But a commerical and things are looking up.
The twi things about thos book that took my breath were the love scene to the sounds of the major thunderstorm - just wow. And how Duncan's mom never gave up on him or believing in him getting the use of his legs back. And statement that made me giggle because I haven't heard it in years. "Her bread isn't buttered all the way to the edge." It fit the scene and the character being talked about perfectly.
This is a myst read for any one that likes overcoming stories. It gives hope for love no matter you physical state. Thank you for sharing, Mr. Grey.

Another Grey Winner

This is the third in a series of gay men who are involved with a custom auto mechanics chain in Milwaukee, and this one has two very stubborn and somewhat star crossed lovers who took a while for me to like them.

Not that there was anything wrong with Duncan, whom I think is the man on the right in the kiss above himself in a wheelchair; nor with the blond Todd, his former teammate on the Olympic skeleton ski team who works in the auto shop. (I am guessing here who is whom; neither is completely described physically in the book).

My biggest problem with Duncan is that he is totally and completely self-conscious and almost too self-pitying even considering his skiing accident and rehab to try to get him back on his feet--which is never likely to happen. Todd, on the other hand, sort of comes out of the blue after being prodded by Duncan's mother after months of not contacting Duncan. Before you know it Todd is making sweet talk and sweet moves on Duncan who throws a pity party to protect himself whenever he can.

Then something clicks and they become close and eventually closer and closer. There is a plot and a crisis which you could see a coming a mile ahead, but it's handled lovingly as always by a master of male romance who also knows how to show that people with disabilities are not to be taken lightly.

Duncan’s whining really got to me. He could have all the doubts in the world but constantly bombarding Todd with his doubts was rather disrespectful. He was essentially saying that he didn’t trust what Todd was saying over and over and over. At one point I said out loud “Oh my god shut up!” Right after that, Todd thought to himself that he was getting tired of this but then put it on himself: what could he do to make Duncan understand?

Overall it was pretty boring, not much of a plot, not an ounce of conflict between the two of then. The bad person was female. Everyone else was male except Duncan’s over protective and clueless mother and Todd’s mentally impaired mom. Typical of M/M books which just pisses me off.

Anyway, fans of contemporaries that really only discuss the relationship except one external conflict that is pretty much proven to not really be a problem from the beginning.

Oh, and they eat a LOT of popcorn and watch a lot of movies. Their lives were pretty boring too.

A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review An Alisa Review:

Rating: 4 stars out of 5

This was another nice story in the series, at first I wasn’t sure if it would be connected to be previous characters but I’m glad we get back to the auto shop and get to see Trevor, James, Brent and Scott again. Duncan has been in a cloud of self-pity ever since his accident, which is understandable when you lose something so big in your life. Todd helps him to break out of that cloud but they end up helping each other too.

Duncan doesn’t know what to do about this sudden attraction to Todd but doesn’t want to hold him back or be a burden either. Todd wants to show Duncan how special he really is and it doesn’t matter how broken he thinks he is. I hated that all the outside problems that they had were from someone being petty even if they seemed to pretty easily resolve the issue.

I liked seeing both of the characters’ points of view which helped to understand and connect more with them. Duncan requires a bit of patience to get through to him but once he found his happiness he wanted to hold onto it with both hands. Todd stands by and refuses to let Duncan try and push him away since he knows it’s all doubts in Duncan’s head. We hear a little bit about Dean still being around, so maybe he will come up in a future story but I would also love to see Clive find someone too.

Cover art by LC Chase is great and I love the visuals of the characters, I continue to love the style of the covers for this series.

Heart Untouched is my first read by Andrew Grey. It's book three in The Hearts Entwined series. It can be read as a standalone. I haven't read any of the other in the series yet but this one made me want to check out the previous ones. Duncan's Olympic dreams die when he has an accident that causes injuries that puts him in a wheelchair. I liked Duncan. He's kind of grumpy at first but that's expected because of what he is going through. Todd is an Olympic hopefully. He is feeling the financial burden of his Olympic dreams. Todd and Duncan are friends. It was nice to see them build their friendship to something more. There is some tension and things that cause them to struggle a some. I really liked all the character in this story and will definitely be reading the previous books in this series.

WOW

This book was a great story about living in the moment and making the most of your circumstances. While this series deals with loving the differently abled, this installment includes hearing, visual and mobility impairments as well as Alzheimer’s. The author handles each of these issues with respect and care. The additional story line of struggling elite athletes enhances this well rounded story.

I wish there were more

I almost always enjoy Andrew Grey's books. This was very enjoyable, but just as it was getting interesting, it ended. It isnt a cliffhanger huh rather the end. I wish Andrew wrote longer books. His talent would make for an enjoyable weekend read rather than just an evening.

enjoyed this, but did not like the psycho woman plot line...it felt wrong. Every character needs a motivation and she didn't have one, unless it was bipolar issues, which seems like something that shouldn't be a plot line. One other complaint. ...there's clean laundry on the bed and it never gets put away before sex.

I don't know if this is everyone's cup of tea, but I loved this as far as the gay romances go. Again, a big mistake to start a series with the middle book, and I definitely missed the importance of many sideplots or discussions, but this is a simple love story with two kindest and most likable characters you could ever imagine.

Another in the Heartsw Entwined Series, they do not have to be read in order but compliment each other so I like to re-read them when a new one comes out. Heart-warming, lovely, sweet, entertaining stories and MC's.
