It’s been five years since Blakey’s beautiful wife Elizabeth died and his grief is just as sharp today as it was back then. But now he’s desperately lonely too. As he becomes closer to his friend Aisleyne, Blakey fights it with everything he has. How could he even think about moving on? No, friendship is all he has to offer. That will have to be enough.

Blakey has been the solid foundation in this series, now with the others all in blissful love he’s realizing how lonely he is. It’s been five years since his wife Elizabeth passed away and he’s struggling with missing her, and the grief he still feels. Aisleyne has been a friend for a long time, and they have found the physical release they both needed with each other. But Aisleyne has developed feelings for Blakey and when he continues to keep her at an arms length and repeatedly says they are just friends she pulls back. Blakey finally realized that he wanted Aisleyne as more than a friend and that he loves her, than sets how to show her how he feels about her. The epilogue was what brought the series to a grand finale with the arrival of baby Elizabeth. This series features four very different characters as well as their partners and all of their stories are different yet intertwined. Absolutely amazing

Blakely has been the guy in the corner watching, providing strength and support to the others as they fought their battles and found love, now it's his turn to give us his story. Because these stories are so short there is a lot to put into them and to overcome, and for this reason alone this one just felt that bit rushed. Blakely has a lot of grief over his dead wife, but finding love again was never going to be easy and it wasn't, but this was dealt with in a positive manner and we got where we need to be. Him and Aisleyne have been sort of feeling each other out since the start of the series where she has sort of been just on the periphery but now takes center stage. A well told story and rounds out the series nicely.

I loved finally getting Blakeys story!! He has always been around for all the other characters in the series and its wonderful that they can return the favour. Wonderfully written as always - funny, sexy and moving. Love it!

This series deals with difficult subject, but in a fabulous uplifting manner. An older, unfit, widower, and an older woman. The story deals with loss and love, and new romance.it is heartwarming and has a happy ending. I am really invested in this series. I can’t wait to read more

Well written, funny, sexy and moving. Blakey is the patriarch of the group so you don’t expect him to suffer heartbreak, being so strong and the leader, you take for granted that he has feelings just like everyone else. Aisleyne was his perfect match for him. 💋
This is the fourth book in the series and I have enjoyed the first three so I wanted to see where it goes. This was a emotional read. This books lets you know no one is immune to heartbreak.

INKonsolable is the fourth and final (to this date) book in the INKomplete series. You can read my reviews of INKarnate, INKapable and INKurable (http://blog.halon-chronicles.com) for information on this cute little novella series. I received a free copy of this story from Pen and Kink Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

What I loved:
I love that our hero in this book is an older guy, someone who’s already lived a full life, lost pieces of it, and he’s not at a ripe young age to turn heads from all the girls. Blakey’s struggle is real, and something a lot of people can identify with. He’s got a poor self image, wants to be loved, and yet this gorgeous life he had with his wife and all his happiness is lost. And the people around him are so happy and in love you can see the hole it’s burning in his heart. From the first page you ache for his grief.
Aisleyne is utterly fantastic. She’s a strong-minded woman who takes no shit from anyone. Yet what really gave a strong depth to her personality was that after Blakey really hurt her feelings, she discovers he needs a little extra help and boom… there she is. You get a chance to see the gentle nurse and caretaker who sets aside her own insecurities to help others. She’s a wonderful character who is the perfect opposing love force for Blakey.
Areas needing a touch of refinement:
Blakey’s loss is hard, and it’s consumed every corner of his life. But for this short novel, I think personally I would have liked to see the self-loathing toned down a bit in favor of more time with Aisleyne. The book didn’t have a lot of sexual tension, and I would have liked to feel more of the fireworks between the two lovers.
It also toned down some of the sensory detail. This was the first book in the series where it felt like I was reading the story instead of immersed in the trauma and heartache. Blakey’s a wonderful character, but feelings were more identified than felt. Especially with the sex scene I felt a bit like a third party in the room watching as opposed to in the action.
Overall:
Another great read. Mara Malins has me as a reader for life. I loved this tale and the series as a whole, and I adore the fact that the characters were older with deeper, more well-established lives in this book.
The fourth and maybe the last book in the INKomplete series and for once we aren't dealing with super hot young guys
Blakey is an older man who has lost his wife and in doing so has lost a part of himself something many people struggle with after the loss of a long term partner the fat that he has seen all the guys/girls he works with find love makes it even harder for him. Aisleyne is a strong determined woman she knows that Blakey would be perfect for her and no matter how much he tries to walk away she just stands stronger. This book was a little heavier than the previous books in the series I feel it could have done with a few more lighter moments all the self hatred from Blakey became a little heavy at times.
Aww, really enjoyed Blakey’s story. What a sweet but cantankerous character. He’s the patriarch of the group so you don’t expect him to suffer heartbreak, being so strong and the leader, you take for granted that he has feelings just like everyone else. However, INKonsolable shows us that the big guy has big feelings.
It was pretty much what I was expecting from his book though and I’m so glad he got his happy ending, even if it was paved with discord for a while. His character was well written and I could actually picture him in my head.
Really enjoyed all of these short stories. Would happily recommend to others.
I’m guessing this will be the last book in this series as all 4 now have amazing partners. I’m glad to see that Blakely was able to find love again even if he did need a kick in the right direction. Ais is a lovely lady and seems like she’s the perfect match for Blakely. I did cry in this book because Mara Malins really hit the spot with the emotions that where being felt. Kink or no kink this series of books was great the storyline for each book was short sweet and simple and all that was needed.
His brief is just as bad today as it was five years ago when he lost his wife. Everyone else at the shop are happy with their other halves. He does have sex with a girl who he has known for years but can it ever become more? See if it might
