Lack luster rushed ending

So now that I've read all of the books, I have some thoughts. I'm going to try to leave it as vague as possible. But be warned, there may be spoilers

The first two books portrayed old Evangeline to be this awesome kick ass female worrier who took no shit and was a formidable force..I get that when resurrected she had to 'start over' and therefore had no memories of her first life. But all this training in her second life, all of this talk of "abilities" that were supposed to be amazing, since after all, she is a descendant from an original... we never saw it. I can not remember a single fight scene where she kicked ass and took names. It was mostly luck or someone saving her ass. Total damsel in distress. It was inconsistent with what we had originally perceived from the earlier books.

Another inconsistency, Liam. Don't get me wrong, total book boyfriend crush..even though he got annoying at the end (or maybe the book just got annoying to me) but his character was inconsistent too. Spoiler :: when she was taken by the sovereign and he didn't do a thing? Like why didn't he follow? The author never explained it. Just jumped ahead a week. And then once they knew of her definite location, you expect me to believe that Liam waited a whole day to get her?let alone didn't just chase after her right after she was taken? Not the Liam from books one and two. No way. Inconsistency from the characters for sure.

Another spoiler::
Her brothers being resurrected had literally no point. They weren't some bad ass worriors like portrayed in earlier books, and they didn't really do much in this book either. Of course it was nice that Elise got them back, but we didn't even really get to know them. There was zero character development.

I love a good happily ever after, but the way we attained this HEA was a bit rushed and sloppy. You mean to tell me every good guy got exactly what they wanted with everyone surviving and it's all tied up in a nice neat bow? stories over, there you have it? Ehh it literally took like what 4 pages to wrap this five book series up??. Lackluster.

Overall books 1 and 2 were awesome, heart pounding, and gut wrenching. It was a promising start to an exciting new series.
Book 3 started to lose it a little for me.
Book 4 was almost pointless to be honest
And book 5 was rushed and and ending was thrown together. This saddens me because this series had amazing potential.
I wish Evangeline was written a bit stronger and got to show these amazing skills and abilities everyone always talked of but we as readers never got to whiteness, just super bummed. Could have been executed way differently and so much better.

Everything is finally falling into place for the true Queen Evangeline.

Liam sacrifices himself to fire so that he can be brought back again as a dragon and serve mate Evangeline as her Warrior and returns even more powerful.

All six of of Evie’s brothers are brought to life and eager to fight in the coming war.

And Evie’s instinct that Nick never wanted to hurt her was correct. The heir she now carries, however, is who the Liberator is destined to kill.

OMG - this series was so good! I had never heard of this author, but once I read the first book I was totally blown away.

This is a deep, deep story. It starts out superficial yet light: Disturbed and lonely girl, awesome boy next door. But then it gets dark. Said girl sees through a guy’s eyes for years while she’s dreaming. Girl meets said guy and finds he’s holy hotness. Then things just take off into the stratosphere.

I loved Liam and Evangeline - even though she made me mad as hell most of the time. Liam was just a gods-given guy. A soulmate for the centuries.

This is ultimately a timeless love story, one in which soulmates would recognize each other through time-eternity.

Loved it.

I am disappointed with this book, to say the least. I thought after all the mistakes and stupidities of the first few books Evangeline will learn in this book but she was still the same stupid girl as before. Whatever she did, the way she acted, didnt once make me feel like she was noble or had a magnanimous heart but how stupid she was, and how unfit she was to be queen. Being sensitive is not the only quality you need to be queen, stupid Eva. You need to have some brains too. Which i feel she thoroughly lacked in this book.
I was a huge fan of this series till this final book, which ruined it for me. So much that I couldnt complete the book. I get that she was trying to make the book interesting, but whats the point if ur protagonist comes across as stupid AF. I can't sympathise with her, Im sorry.
She never once understood the importance of the life in her. She was so passive, not at all like a main character is supposed to be. I was so disappointed that she fought no one, literally no one. She didnt earn the title of queen in my eyes. She only gave one speech in the entire novel which was "okay" at best. And soon after she did the stupidest thing by chasing the soldier on the horse. Let me say, i didnt feel even a bit sympathetic with her. I felt like she's the biggest idiot on Earth and she should be blaming herself rather than poor Liam taking all the blame. But she was resting while Liam was going crazy.
She is not worthy of being queen in my opinion. I got so annoyed by her character that I didnt complete the book. I expected some growth, some character development in her in this last book, but realised she's still the same naive gullible girl she was in the first book despite having vivid dreams.
She shouldve fought the Liberator or the Sovereign for once. Then maybe I would respect her. She gets everything handed to her on a plate while she lies there waiting for death. Seriously?! Who would want such a queen. Who doesnt even fight for hr own child!? How can you expect her to fight for others?
I dont know why Rachel did this. How she thought, she could convince her readers of the depth of Eva's character. Eva seems to me to be an atrocious family member to have, an undeserving lover and an empty headed mother. How such a character can be Queen is beyond me. There was nothing in the story that convinced me of Eva being deserving of the title.
Disappointed.!

I am happy to say that this final book in the series was worth the wait. I loved this story with Evangeline and Liam! Great characters you couldn’t help but fall for everyone including nick and Evangeline’s brothers. Everyone has their own personality it was a great combo of characters. I loved the whole dragon shifters very different than what I’ve read. The face off with Sebastian and Blaise was really good as well wasn’t sure how they were going to bring it all together and the surprise ending was awesome!

This didn’t really feel like the last book in a series. It was definitely too short and everything we’ve been waiting for just fell flat. The war that was coming was a joke when it actually happened. The liberator ending felt wrong, we waited all this time for this? Another kidnapping? The first time is fine, but after that it just feels like regurgitated material. And really you think Liam would have waited a day to save Evie? You must not know Liam, there is no way in hell he would have waited a second no matter if the plan needed to come together or not!

Books 1-3 were great! I think books 4 & 5 could have been combined.

I was part of the author's ARC team.

Perfect HEA

Okay, so for a little while I thought the ending would be lacking and no HEA. Luckily that was not the case. From the very beginning of this series, I was intrigued and loved the character dynamic. It was neat to have a black heroine with an Egyptian husband. It was different. I am also glad that the author did not make a big deal about her race. I only care about what the characters look like, such as skin color, eye color, build and so forth because I like to picture in my head what I imagine the characters and the world look like. I hate when author's bring in their political, personal agendas, and so forth, unless of course I bought the book for those viewpoints. This author did none of these things and wrote a great series for enjoyment and escape. The story was not perfect, but it was always entertaining. I guess my biggest pet peeve was Evie's character. She was supposed to be super powerful, but She never used her powers. In her first conflict she was embarrassed to be naked and laid in the fetus postition crying. There was no fight, she just ran. The second conflict, again she did not fight. She was docile in her plight. So, it just really aggravated me. Yet, Liam's character helped me overlook Evie's flaws for the most part. I am happy to see that the author is not done with this world and look forward to Noele's story.

One of the best endings to a series that I have been fortunate enough to read.

Evangeline does it again, yeah she kind of got herself captured but she did step up before doing so.

I would love to see this series made into movies because from the descriptive detail in the writing there are some amazing scenes with beautiful and grotesque characters. Fast paced all the way. You will be hooked, I guarantee it.

I love Rachel Jonas, one of my new favourite authors.

Note: I was given a copy of this book and I voluntary give this review.

An epic mind-blowing conclusion that kept my emotions in a steady influx and kept my heart racing.

This is it, the final battle is upon them. Evie along with friends and family must put an end to the Sebastian's evil reign, put Evie on the throne and stop Nick's curse, which would destroy all hope. Evie and Liam have a though fight ahead of them, Evie is pregnant and they have to find a way to stop Nick from killing her and her unborn child. However that isn't even the worst of their problems, Sebastian has been waging a small war on them for months and now he is up to something so terrible that he must be stopped at all cost. This is the end only one side will win the question is, is Sebastian truly unbeatable and if they do win how could they possible stop Nick from becoming a monster he is destined to be?

Fate of the Fallen is the fifth and final book in the Lost Royals saga and it was so epically amazing that I don't know if I even have the words. I have been hooked since the first book, I love the characters with all of my heart. Evie is such a strong and brave character and while she is scared, new to the supernatural world and is reluctant to accept her role as leader she has always risen to the occasion. She is such a good person who listens to her heart and is so loyal to the people that she cares about and that only grows throughout the series. In this last book Evie is closer to being the person she was meant to be but she is still the lovable down to earth character that I love.

Speaking of love, LIAM. OMG that man, he is the reason why I love the whole idea about mates. People who love each other forever, no matter what. The love that doesn't change, fade or hurt but a continuous love that protects and help grow. Liam is strong physically but he has emotional moments and I loved that I got to see his feelings, how strongly he felt for Evie and what he was willing to do for her and for their family.

All of my questions was answered and even a few things that I didn't even know were questions was answered. So many things were revealed but the big thing about the final book was all the emotional moments. I had just about broke-down at the end, I mean Rachel almost killed me close to the end. I was put into an emotional wringer and I did not see the ending coming but I am happy with it.

Fate of the Fallen was the perfect conclusion to the story. All my favorite characters were present, I laughed, cried, yelled and had all the other feelings as well. These books were filled with family and friends, history, magic, soul-mates, shifters, epic battles and love. Each book was just as good as the previous and I have loved every minute of reading they have provided me. While I feel sad that the story has ended I am so happy that I was able to go along the journey.

Rachel Jonas is a wonderful storyteller and I can't wait to read her new series that's coming up and this time she takes on vampires. I am so excited for it!

Of the hundreds of paranormal romance novels I've read, this series had the widest gap between great potential and actual delivery. There were so many missed opportunities to write something interesting! Evie never got to explore the full potential of her powers. Liam never got to do anything important with his new and improved dragon form. Evie's brothers came back and had zero effect on the storyline. We didn't even get to see Liam's reaction to finding out about the pregnancy. There were no reactions or emotional consequences from any characters regarding Liam burning himself to death in a fire! Roz and Evie never got to work together as new leaders. Beth and Errol never got to have any on-page romance, not to mention what ever happened to the kid who had a crush on Beth? Why was he in the books at all? What about that girl from book two that had it in for Evie? What's her story? Beth's presence was always boring--she was only ever there to give a helping hand or pass along information that was necessary.

It felt like this had the potential of a great series but was pulled back on and cut short.

This series was so dry, that for the last three books, I started to skim sections, because you truly didn't need to read every word. Each part played out predictably: Here's where they make a plan, here's where they get from point A to B, here's where they fight. There was no witty banter or exciting sharing of information or even a crazy thing that happened in between anything happening to make sections worth reading!

What a great conclusion to an amazing series!

This book was really good that I just don't want to say good-bye to the characters. Now, first about Evie. Evie was a great heroine in this novel. I loved how she grew from a shy and scared heroine, to a strong queen. Evie's character growth and maturity in this novel was the best part. She shone and showed who was truly the boss.

Liam was a great book boyfriend. I loved how he supported Evie throughout her journey. They are such an adorable couple. Liam really stood and shone in this novel. He was Evie's equal, not under. Liam really did add a lot of happy and peaceful moments in the book as Evie's kingdom was breaking apart.

The world building and action was really good. I loved how Evie fought against so many villains easily. The fight scenes weren't unrealistic, and instead showed how dirty hand-to-hand combat is. I also enjoyed seeing more of Evie's kingdom. There were amazing twists thrown at the end.

My biggest criticism in the book in the romance between Liam and Evie. I felt that their relationship was overlooked by everything. They somehow lost the spark they had in the previous two books. In addition, I felt that some parts of the book very draggy. I think cutting 100 pages of information would have made me enjoy this novel much more.

Despite this criticism, I do think it is a good ending to a series. I highly recommend people pick it up.

When I met Evie , I enjoyed her , I wanted to know more about the girl who Nick was drawn to. I liked their little relationship until met Liam . I rooted from Liam the moment the author let us see him , I knew he was meant Evie and I was happy to see them together. I had so much hope for Evie ,there was a moment when she uses her powers to save Liam , I was so excited to see what would happen next . Evie cried and continued to be unsure of herself through the rest of the series. She is supposed to be immune to witches magic, but it was used against her throughout the series. She never became the heroine she had the potential to be . Another thing that annoyed me about this series, everyone had their inner dialogue, they spent so much time thinking about what they were going to say , that when they finally said it , I lost interest. I almost felt it was written that way to prolong the series, which could have been two books , a trilogy at best . I’m sorry that Evie was never written as the strong woman she should have became . Her supernatural powers should have blown us away ,she’s a hybrid dragon/ware wolf , I was so looking forward to reading that , but it never happened. There were good parts to this series, but they are spread out in each book . Because I like this author so much , I will try other books by her , I feel that because this is a anew genre for her , that she’s just getting her feet wet.

This series was amazing!!!!

I definitely see myself re-reading this series many times in the future! Everything from the story, to the characters, to the action and my absolute favorite thing about this book- the love story!

This series probably had my absolute favorite love story I have ever read. The author just writes the story of Evie and Liam so beautifully, I found myself at times wanting to read faster just so I can read more of them!

I will say that this series at times, reminded me a lot of the Twilight Series. It had some elements that feel were maybe inspired by those books? It never once took away from the quality of these books but I figured I’d point it out.

This series gave me I think every feeling you could possibly have while reading. I laughed at funny moments, I gripped my seat at times I had no clue what would come next, I was sad, I was angry for the characters and what they endured, I fell in love with the love, I cried like a baby at the end and then was so joyful when things looked up. Basically, I had all the feels and it was great!

I HIGHLY recommend this series to anyone who loves a good YA fantasy with an amazing love story! You will not be disappointed!

Read other books from this author in the future: yes

In the fifth and last book Fate of the Fallen of The Lost Royals saga everything is resolved. It becomes clear who Nick has to kill because of the curse. I thought it was good that Evie didn't become a superhero. She had received combat training and was able to defend herself, but the opponents were much more experienced fighters than she was. She also couldn't turn reliably into a dragon or a wolf.
The last two parts of the saga finally caught me. I still think the books would have benefited from a faster pace of narration and a quicker storyline, but it was okay.

Deutsche Rezension:

Really good series.

I waited until I read the series before I have my review. I got the series after Theodora Taylor's conversation with you. I like her, I like your other books, so why not give it a shot. I'm so glad I did. After reading the 1st book and half of the 2nd one I bought all the rest. I must confess that I read the last chapter of the 3rd and 4th books and then the last 4 or 5 chapters of the last book. Then I went back and read the rest. I like to read books where you get invested in the characters lives. Where it really matters what happens to them. You did this for me with this series. I cared about Evie, Liam, Nick and their friends and families. Really didn't like Nick's mother and think she deserved harsher punishment but it stayed true to Evie's heart. My genre of choice is IR with BWWM you can add that to Paranormal and it's a good change for me. Although I realize that Liam must have been Egyptian. All in all I really enjoyed this series and look forward to your next set of books.

Pushing through till the end!!

So, I had very mixed feelings about this series. It started with book 1 and 2 being written in such a way that made me hate the storyline. Looking backwards, I feel the author could've done everyone a solid if she had started with Liam's version, and/or an intro that explained Evie's death and Liam's connection to her.
Because this didn't happen, I was very much against the story of Liam and had to push through till book 4 and 5 to actually accept this story was not going to have an Evie/Nick, as a couple, happy ending.
I have to admit that I did consider stop reading this series throughout books 2 and 3, but I pushed forward and the writer was able to give more to the story - in a believable fashion that showed how the storyline progressed.
All in all, I'm glad I stayed through it, the author had a great universe and story to tell, and was able to bring it all together all the way to the end.
It wasn't my favorite read, but it was well written and kept our attention throughout the series, never a dull moment.

Absolutely well worth the sleepless nights

What a beautiful way to conclude this story. I am not one to give away key parts, but this was one hell of a ride! I truly enjoyed how each moment was intricately woven to develop into such a well written series. Erie...Lord. She is such a stubborn hard headed young woman that think with her heart instead of her logical mind, which got her into some heavy situations. Could've cost a lot of lives. Liam was too patient with her...way too patient, but that's what love is. I waited with bated breath here Evie call Elise mom and for her to gain her memories back. My poor troublesome Nick. He just couldn't fight what the witch and Sebastian destroyed within him. He fought so hard to deny himself that need to kill Evie, it was just inevitable. I wish we could've squeezed a few more books in this series, but it was well worth the read!

What a fitting end to this exciting series. Tons of excitement, twists, turns, magic and most of all LOVE. Evil definitely comes into her own as the Queen. Will Nick overcome his urge to kill her unborn child? How will Evie, her family, and the town battle the Soverign? There are definitely a few surprises thrown in, and trust me they're well worth reading!! I can honestly say that I've LOVED each and every book.within this exciting series. Who would've thought of a hybrid wolf/dragon.... genius!! The theme of love woven throughout these books so strongly....romantic love, love of a mother, siblings love, first love, love for the pack....all strong in this tale. I for one will definitely read future books by this talented author!! And maybe we will see Evie, Liam and their child pop up as guest stars in a future story.

Part of the ARC team

I absolutely loved this series. All the growth of the characters were good and the ending was beautiful. I do feel that Evie could've been more independent when it came to defending herself and actually fighting. She is supposed to be this mighty queen, but she doesnt really show her fighting skills. She relied too much on Liam for my liking. Seeing more of her brothers and their interactions would've been great however, the bits we did see from them were really good. The war could've been better. It really wasn't a war in my opinion. Also the battle against the liberator should've had a littl more umph as well. The very ending was beautiful though. Overall it was ok. I thought it was lacking like something was missing. I still find this series to be one of my favorites.

It's always a good thing when Liam is involved! I loved how protective he was. I enjoyed Evie's growth and the dreams were a great addition.

As usual, the author did an amazing job. Honestly, the best part of this story for me was Nick - The Liberator has arrived! The mystery surrounding Nick, is he strong enough, will he survive, what will happen to him; it drove me insane in the best way possible.

While I liked this book, I do have mixed emotions. I felt like so much that could have and actually should have been explored, weren't. I felt like I got nothing from Evie's brothers and Roz to name few. Things were mentioned, but then not much else. When the climax finally came it almost felt anticlimactic.

Overall, I liked the book, but not as much as the first four. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Most epic werewolf/dragon shifter book I've read.

The above statement is true & I read a lot! I read non-stop actually. This was the best ending for this series! What a great HEA ending. I read this in a day. It is a real page turner, almost impossible to put down. The action, fear, suspense & terror was so tangible. Truly a love story that transcends time! I was so sure there was no way that this could turn out so good. I felt Evie's emotions that she went through in this book. Even though I thought some of them she wasn't being reasonable about. Now that she has someone else to protect, I would have thought she would have been more concerned for herself as well. I was excited to see there was a spinoff unfortunately because it is a reverse harem, I will not be reading it! That's really to bad because you ruined the spinoff by doing that.

I did receive an ARC of this for a honest review. Wow, just when you thought the series couldn’t get any better! Evie is pregnant! We finally find out that it’s the baby that Nick was made to kill. Now the race is on to protect Evie and the baby, try to find a way to save Nick, and beat Sebastian once and for all. Just when I thought my heart was going to break, BAM a surprise ending that makes me (the lover of happy endings) really happy! The only issue I have is that I’m just not ready to be done with these characters! I really hope Rachel decides to write either a sequel series (based on the baby as a young adult) or a spin off series for Nick and Roz and Eveies 7 brothers and Beth, or she could do both and really make me happy!

What do you do when you wake up at 3am and can't go back to sleep? Read Rachel Jonas of course! She never disappoints, and she most certainly didnt this time.

Wow just wow.
I almost have no words to describe the emotional rollercoaster I went on with this series. I loved, hated and hurt right along side each character. It was such an amazing journey to go on. But like all great things, its must come to an end. And what an amazing ending it was. That plot twist at the end! Absolutley loved it!!! This series will forever be among my top favorites.

Thank you, Rachel Jonas, for allowing us to ride on this journey with you. I will forever be grateful for you sharing your amazing gift with words with us mere mortals.

Holy. So much happened!!! Evie went through a lot. Poor Nick really got the short end of everything but he always stayed true and good in his heart. Love Liam so much. The love between all the members or should I say family is so close nit and amazing. Beth is badass. Happy with how everything ended. Cried over Nick. Then cried again when we found out the surprise and was shocked to death. Happy with the ending!! Such a fantastic series and I'm so happy I got to be here for it all to unfold when the ARC's were out. I love this authors work.! Loved these books so much.

Very nice ending to the series

This whole series was a battle if love and loyalty against power and greed. In the past they had been defeated but this time around things are different. Evie doesn't just have her family on her side, she has nick too. Or, at least, she used to.

This book was a great wrap up of the last 4 and has such a satisfying ending that leaves you with all the answers you could want. I wont say more for fear of spoiling but if you've read the rest of the series you'll leave happy and if you haven't started yet, what are you waiting for??

Such a great series 🙌

I've loved this series from beginning to end I'll admit there were some sleepless nights involved where I had to force myself to put it down!!!
The final in this series still hit the mark the same as the four others did throughout the series with maybe a few more tears I don't want to give away what happened but one was sad and one was happy 💖
Evie started off this series feeling alone and lost in the world and she ended it surrounded by family and friends that proved they literally lay down their lives for her I'm glad after all she got her HEA forever with Liam.... Everyone needs a Liam in their lives that's for sure.
Definitely recommend reading 📚

Fate. Destiny. Prophecy. Love. Friendships.

It’s all on the line in the final book of the Lost Royals Saga.

This book was graciously provided as an ARC for review as part of the review team. All thoughts/opinions are 100% my own.

Last we left Nick he was in hell.
The Sovereign was about to wage war
And Liam and Evie found out that they were expecting the greatest miracle of all...an heir.

I loved this saga. From beginning to end it displayed the depth of what a true friendship really means and let me just say in The Fate of the Fallen Nick truly does sacrifice everything for his love/ friendship for Evie.
That entire relationship was so impressive to me. Through out so many ups and downs Evie always held out hope that Nick could beat his curse and he always held out hope he could save her from himself.

In the end I think that all works out just fine.

Liam and Evies love literally spans TIME! Who can actually say that? They were destined to be together and the more she remembers the stronger their bond grows. I think Liam becoming a father has opened a whole new side to his protective warrior status and it made him even more swoon worthy.

In the end everyone even as far reaching as Noah himself comes together to end the tyranny of Sebastian and his son Blaise. But none of that could have happened without the strong bonds these characters gained and grew throughout this series.
A stellar ending to an unforgettable series.

Awesome ending to a fantastic series. Well written with a great plot and characters. I was engrossed from start to finish, what a page turner. This book has magic, twists, turns, love, shifters, and a few surprises thrown in. Evil comes for the queen. Will nick kill Evie's baby? Will she prevail....read to find out. What an ending! Blown away with this book and the entire series. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book series. I will definitely be 1 clicking anything this Superb author comes out with! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
