Review

Three beautiful Christmas stories, all set in Huckleberry Lake, and all connected. One of forgiveness, both from God and from each other. One of acceptance, and that nobody's perfect. And one of remembering that God always answers prayers, we just have to listen. And all about love. I laughed, and I cried. And I'm glad I found this series to read.

These three novellas are absolutely precious! I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed each one, individually and as a collection! A must read for anyone who loves to be whisked away to a serene community by the lake!

In Calm & Bright we get a heart wrenching Christmas story centered around a little boy who just wants to spend time with his dad for the holiday! Brad and Maddie both have so many issues they need to address within themselves, with God and each other before they can come back to the place they were when the first made a commitment to one another in marriage and be the best parents they can be for their son! The way Autumn writes their story is touching and shows us that when we put God first, the rest will always fall into place! The warmth of the “supporting cast” and the setting makes me wish I could move straight to Idaho!

Imperfectly Proverbs 31 has a heroine so sweet and unsure of herself, Autumn has you routing for her success immediately! Of course, I may be just a little prejudiced, I mean Samantha is a blogger, after all, hehehe! But Daniel is out to prove he is the truth finder super hero. It’s his mission in life to call out anyone who is less than one hundred percent honest. Daniel has his reasons for his philosophy, and they are valid….but when he meets Sam and is forced to spend time with her, God has a way of working opening his eyes to HIS truth as well. One of my favorite things about this story is it shows how no one is perfect…but God loves us through our flaws and HE is always going to bring us to where we need to be when we put our trust in HIM.

By the time I finished those two, I could not wait to get to Midnight Clear! This last novella in the set was my favorite…it had a lot of Maddie and Brad’s continued love story, and brings back both Ryan and Claire who have been in the previous two stories as well. The main reason it was my favorite though was because of Claire! I adored Claire and her fierce independent stubborn streak. Maybe because I was so much like her for a very long time….! Ryan is an amazing hero too…so patient and kind, and so in tune with God and the community he has lived in all his life. The best part of this story was being able to see how we so often try to blame God for the bad things that happen to us, or if not blame Him, then figure He doesn’t care, or doesn’t see our heart ache and needs. That is just so not true, but it’s difficult to see that in the midst of heart breaking circumstances…..

Warning: I cried………but it was such a beautiful eye opener to me to TRUST GOD always….!

Midnight Clear
Oh goodness, y'all, this novella! It is so good! It's heartwarming and touching, filled with laughs and tears, characters finding their way, and a wonderful spiritual message. There were times when I was laughing out loud and then others when I was wiping away tears. It really put me in the Christmas spirit. This novella is a great reminder to trust God, His plans, and to know that He is always with us, no matter what, that the Lord's path is so much better than anything we could ever plan. I tried to read this slowly, to savor it, but in the end, I couldn't help but read it as fast as I could. I loved every second of it! Highly recommend!

I received a complimentary copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.

Inspiring romances that blend real life issues with hope and love. Autumn Macarthur weaves a descriptive small town setting (Huckleberry Lake, Idaho) with believable characters, real life conflicts, and satisfactory resolution. Book 1: Calm and Bright has a theme of second chances between Brad Hughes and Maddie Calder. Book 2: Imperfectly Proverbs 31 was my favorite and as a woman and homemaker I feel less than perfect. Autumn Macarthur challenges the reader to revisit Proverbs 31. A wife of noble character speaks with wisdom and teaches others to be loving and kind. Book 3: Midnight Clear has a theme that love conquers all. All three inspiring romances were originally published in boxed sets with a variety of authors.

Autumn MacArthur ‘s box set Come To The Lake:
This box set is truly amazing. The characters in these books are all very special people. You will be on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. God is working throughout this whole book. I had the honor to review this box set for the author. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.

These three books have a central theme other than romance.
Acceptance of the grace of God!
The need to accept and honor the grace He gifted us.
For some of us that is the most difficult part of life.
Thank you for reminding us of that, Autumn Macarthur.

Cute Christian romance

Three very cute romance novels set on Huckleberry Lake in Sunset Point. One home town girl and two transplants find the love of their lives. The stories interact some but still independent.I like the way the author weaves in scripture.
