My parents fed my imagination by taking our family to Europe for a year when I was thirteen. The year away changed me (I wasn't a geek for once!) and overseas I discovered a huge and wonderful world with different cultures and customs. I loved everything about Europe, but felt especially passionate about Italy and those gorgeous Italian men (no wonder my first very Presents hero was Italian).

With my Bachelors degree from UCLA in American Studies, a program that combines American literature and American history, I've worked in sales and marketing, as well as a director of a non-profit foundation. Sweet, cute and fluffy romance with an amnesiac, chivalrous beta H and a beautiful, nerdy Mary Sue heroine who saves his life.
This was my third favourite HP novel that was released this month. It wasn't as good as Untouched Queen by Royal Command and The Spaniard's Stolen Bride, but it was a little better than The Greek Claims His Shock Heir. This novel begins on a tiny deserted Greek island called Khronos, where our nerdy, genius and sheltered, home-schooled heroine Josephine lives with her volcanologist father.
Josephine's all alone on the island because her dad has left to go teach, for a couple months, at a Hawaiian university.
She's accustomed to her life of self sufficient solitude because it's all she's known for the last 8 years. Our intrepid little heroine finds her solitude disrupted by the sudden arrival of a mega yacht. The shy Josephine plays a little game of hide and peep with the visitors from the mega yacht, because it's her only opportunity to see how the other half lives.
Her attention is drawn to one man: the sexiest male in the group. She's drawn to him because he's the group's loner; she spies on him and draws sketches of him when he goes off on his own to swim and sunbathe.
Unbeknownst to Josephine, this loner hot guy is Alexander, the crown prince of Aargau. She's unaware of his identity because of her isolation from the civilized world.
This is the H, Alexander:
It was only then she realized it was him. The beautiful brooding man. The one who’d barely seemed to tolerate the others.
Our MC's meet only after Josephine saves Alexander from drowning. The H's evil jealous cousin, Damian, had hit him over the head with a bottle and then thrown his body off the yacht, while it was sailing away from the island. Alexander's dad, the king, was dying and Damien knew that the crown of Aargau would be his if the H just happened to die as well ! Fortunately for the H, our heroine just happened to be a strong swimmer. When Alexander regained consciousness, he had no memory or knowledge of his identity but he was immediately fascinated by the beautiful young woman who was tending to him.
This is the heroine, Josephine:
His muffled groan must have reached the angel girl, as she turned in her white dress, the delicate fabric floating behind her as she moved toward him, so young, so beautiful he was certain she wasn’t real.
These MC's were drawn to each other immediately and the situation soon got very hot and heavy between them. But it was sweet and romantic too, because the amnesiac H was such a wonderful, kind, helpful and gallant man towards the heroine. They basically fell in love with each other by the fourth chapter ! It was cute to see this amnesiac guy falling head over heels in love with a girl and not being able to fight his feelings.
There were a few really HOT, sexy love scenes during this part of the novel as the MC's got all caught up in the romance of being stranded on this isolated Mediterranean island.
The reader is filled with a bit of angst, by proxy, for the MC's because our H and heroine are unaware of one very important fact: Alexander is engaged to a princess and his wedding is set to take place in a few weeks' time !
Alexander doesn't know who he is or where he comes from, but he's sure that he's never felt this way about a woman before. It's as if his heart knows it's experiencing love for the first time and he's awed by Josephine's unspoiled and generous nature:
“You are so beautiful,” he murmured, his voice deep and rough. She felt his voice and his touch all the way through her, an erotic rasp that teased her senses, making her skin flush and her body ache.
“No makeup, no designer clothes, no expensive blowouts. Just beautiful you,” he added. “I didn’t know women like you even existed.”
The MC's are unable to keep their hands off each other and keep having unprotected sex like bunnies. The love scenes are depicted in a beautiful manner, as it's obvious that the MC's share more than mere sexual desire; when they make love, it's apparent that they're in love:
Part of him felt guilty for taking her virginity, and yet another part of him agreed with her—they were meant to be. Destined to be together. She was beautiful and brilliant, innocent and earnest, and temptingly sweet.
But then the real world intruded with the return of Alexander's memory. This was a big bittersweet moment in the story and I felt so sorry for both MC's. The H was emotionally broken apart when he remembered that he was an engaged man who was due to marry his fiancee in a few weeks' time. He was a beta H, who wasn't in love with his fiancee Danielle, but he felt obligated to go ahead with the dynastic marriage in order to please his parents. At the same time, though, he was totally in love with Josephine:
He wasn’t ready to lose her. He wasn’t ready to lose the warmth of what they had. He’d never felt like this with anyone, and he’d never been wanted like this by anyone. She didn’t even know who he was, or what he was, and yet she wanted him.
This middle part of the story was the saddest, because both MC's are so in love with each other and unable to figure out a way to deal with the revelation of his identity and his forthcoming marriage. Alexander had never been intimate, or even kissed, his fiancee Danielle and he was determined to sort out his relationship with Josephine before he returned to Aargau. But, the noble and selfless Josephine decided to run away because she didn't want to be an obstacle in his life:
“But that won’t be my problem then. He’ll be home in Aargau with his family and his fiancée.” The words stuck in her throat. She managed a tight smile. “And at least this way I’ll have some dignity. Goodbyes always hurt too much.”
After this point, the storyline got a little injection of angst with the advent of the heroine's pregnancy. The H has returned to Aargau and is trying to figure out a way to end his engagement in a polite and timely fashion, without upsetting his terminally ill father. When he receives news of Josephine's pregnancy, he's kinda relieved because it gives him the excuse he needs to get the woman he wants and to end an engagement he never wanted in the first place.
There were a few things that I didn't like too much in this novel:
1. I had a love-hate thing going on for the H. I admired him for being such a kind and sweet man but I wished he was a bit more decisive and alpha. He had allowed his father to dictate to him a little too much and I wanted him to return to Josephine before he had received news that she wanted to meet him. I also preferred him a lot more during the scenes when he had amnesia. He'd been a lot nicer, kinder and willing to open his heart to love. But, from the moment he regained his memory, he became this formal and closed off prince again. This caused lots of problems for him with Josephine, because she also preferred the man he'd been while he'd had amnesia.
2. There were about 4-5 pages of factual information dumping in the early part of the novel. I have to admit that I was tempted to stop reading the story at this point because I got bored when the author started to dump out information about desalination plants, black-carbons, volcanology and other related scientific and environmental jargon. It felt as if the author was deliberately using this novel as a medium to spread awareness of these important current environmental concerns.
I know these are important issues and I support all efforts to save our planet, BUT, I really don't like to deal with such blatant information dumping when I'm reading an escapist romance novel.
3. Josephine started to annoy me in the second half of the story. She suddenly changed and became a bit too argumentative and her personality took on a thorny side. I understood why she felt that way but the author allowed the impasse between the MC's to go on for too long. They seemed to be arguing about the same thing over and over again and that got a little tedious.
On the plus side, the H's mom was great and very supportive of his desire to marry Josephine. There was also the side storyline with the H's evil cousin Damien and it also took a little too long for that criminal to be confronted and banished. The heroine did have a tragic miscarriage that almost destroyed the MC's impending marriage. Josephine's insecurity reared its head when she decided that there was no need for them to marry, now that the baby was gone. Luckily, the H got his head out of his ass and finally reverted to the lovable guy she'd known on Khronos:
“You’ll be fine without me,” she said huskily. “You’ll find another princess—” “Never. You’re the only princess I want and the only woman I love.” He turned her head toward him. “I love you, Josephine, I do, and I know I don’t deserve you, but I’m asking for a second chance. Let me make things right. Let me prove to you how much I love you and how sorry I am for hurting you—”
The good news is that the MC's are pregnant again by the end of the story. I enjoyed a lot more than Jane Porter's last novel, Kidnapped for His Royal Duty. I remember starting to read that novel and just not being able to finish because I'd gotten a little bored with that story.
Safety: No cheating, no OM and the H's OW fiancee was an off page character with whom he'd never even shared a kiss. I didn't think he'd cheated on the fiancee with Josephine because he hadn't been in love with her, hadn't been intimate and their engagement had been purely a business, dynastic marriage of convenience.

Homeschooled, virgin heroine rescues hero from drowning after he fell from a yacht that was anchored next to an isolated Greek island. Hero has amnesia. Heroine’s radio broke and her volcanologist father won’t return for nine days.
What are an H/h to do to pass the time?
You got it. Heroine is pregnant, but only discovers it after her father returns and recognizes the H as the missing prince who has been headline news.
The rest of the story is the Hero breaking off his engagement, strong-arming the heroine into marrying him. They then have to deal with the fallout from his father’s funeral and the mystery of who pushed him off the yacht.
The story started strong, but went downhill once all the palace intrigue started. The heroine had a personality change in order to keep up the conflict. She was really nasty to the hero once she discovered who he was. So a star off for that nonsense.

Josephine is working alongside her Father as a scientist doing research on an island and it's volcano. She loves the solitude and beautify that surrounds her. She's more a beautiful nerd and never really fit in when she was around society. This is her happy place
It's interrupted one day but a beautiful yacht, filled with beautiful, loud and unruly people. She does notice one individual who doesn't seem as interested in the party as others. He's a handsome and beautiful as well as brooding it seemed. One evening the yacht seemed to be departing but someone fell over board after what seemed like an altercation. Josephine swims to rescue the individual. And it's the handsome man she had been observing.
Prince Alexander has no memory of who he is. He's rescued by a beautiful woman who nurses him back to health. The two develop a sweet friendship with just a bit, okay more like a lot of attraction to boot. Of course the unknown of who Alexander is plays a major part of their relationship progressing, but one night they both fall into their attraction and begin and affair (Alexander is sure he's not married).
And you guessed it, Alexander's memory comes back. He's engaged to another. Josephines Father was away during the time that Alexander was on the island but returns and realizes who he is. Josephine cannot say good bye (she's been told who he is, Alexander did remember a day or so before her Father returned but couldn't tell Josephine) so she runs to another island. Alexander leaves to return to his kingdom.
Alexander can't forget Josephine. But he's busy trying to remember who tried to kill him. In the meantime Josephine finds out she's pregnant. She debates on does she tell Alexander or not and realizes in the end that's the right thing to do.
Alexander has get's her and brings her to Aargau. They are now dealing with his engagement to another woman, who he knows he will break off. Josephine feels guilty and unsure. Alexander now needs to convince her to marry him after he breaks it off with the other woman. And the two have a back and forth as well as figuring out what happens to "them" and their baby. They do face some sad challenges but in the end realize they truly love each other. So HEA for both the MC.
I enjoyed the storyline and pacing. Had a few issues with how each character handled their adversity (could have been a little more mature/better). But all in all a good read.

Finally got around to reading this one....
Enjoyed it,the hero Prince has my son's name,so reading about the sexual exploits of this duo was a bit on the jarring side.
Amnesiac hero who falls overboard from super yacth and is pulled from the depths of the ocean by the young heroine to the shores of her rocky Greek island where she is her volcanologist father's assistant.
She is also a volcanologist, her being homeschooled and all.Dad is away teaching and she is all by her lonesome.
They become pillow friends,life is good ,then he regains his memory,leaves the heroine in the dark about his memory return .
Dad comes back home and the Prince's identity is revealed and also the fact that he is engaged!
Heroine leaves without seeing the Prince with plans to return when he leaves.
As with unprotected sex,and lots of it,the inevitable happens and the decision is made to contact the daddy.
I enjoyed this one,mild angst,sensuous love scenes.The Prince was a bit of a dick,but was resolved.
Loved his gesture at the end,but would have loved to see them in the future with their family.

Heroine leaves without seeing the Prince with plans to return when he leaves.
As with unprotected sex,and lots of it,the inevitable happens and the decision is made to contact the daddy.
I enjoyed this one,mild angst,sensuous love scenes.The Prince was a bit of a dick,but was resolved.
Loved his gesture at the end,but would have loved to see them in the future with their family.

It was ok I guess. Nothing special. Hero was not cruel or brooding and I like my heroes cruel. Heroine was a sweetheart. Miscarriages make me sad so this book made me sad.

I think I have over read Harlequins this month
They all started sounding the same! Except I learned a lot about desalination and solar power, and volcanoes. It was very interesting but kind of not romantic really. I did like them both and it was a very straight forward love story where Arielle saves Eric from the sea and, oops I meant the heroine saves the prince hero and they fall in lust. At least on his side. He also has amnesia at first.from his fall overboard. It was cute but then there is a devious cousin, and a tragic miscarriage. Just be warned. Very.low key even with the angsty trope so quite an even read. Heading back.to.my mysteries for now. But.Harlequins are always waiting on my kindle. I.should call it.a Kindlequin!

It was an ok read. The storyline was good but the book loses its potentiality somewhere and becomes boring. Despite their maturity, the couples handled some of their situations very badly. I can blame the never-changing HPlandia tropes for it through. The ending was sweet.
Safety Issues: The heroine was virgin but at least the hero wasn't some wealthy manwhore. He was a prince with honor and respect for the women. And the book was safe with an exception. The hero was engaged with a princess. And he meets with the heroine because of some accident he had and the heroine takes care of him. Because of the near-death experiences he had amnesia. And for a week he didn't remember anything. And during the week he got involved with the heroine. When the kingdom discovers where their prince is, they came to his rescue. Before the hero talks to the heroine, she left knowing he was a prince. Returning his kingdom, The hero continues with his life. The heroine called him after two weeks they parted cause she is pregnant. During these times there was no mention of involvement with OW. He was engaged, but I doubt he meets with the finance even occasionally. By the nature & behavior of the hero, I am definitely giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I think this girl (the heroine) was doing great before she saved his royal a$$ !
She is a volcanologist ! For God's sake and beautiful and loves to draw !!!! and then she saved him 🙄 and she was miserable!!! the H was one of the things I didn't like in this book (I didn't like him , tried to like him but ..😑 I just couldn't he was cold ! ) another thing I didn't like was the miscarriage! I hate miscarriages 😔
So I gave it 2 stars because of the h and because I felt how happy she was about her pregnancy at the end .

Prince Alexander Julius Alberici of Aargau is about to marry Princess Danielle Roulet. His father, the King, has mere months to live as he's suffering from lung cancer. But, everything is going on normally so as not to alarm the people. Alexander's on his last journey of freedom with his friends and cousins on his yacht, partying away his bachelorhood days.
Josephine Robb, who is staying in her tiny island of Khronos, has had enough of the partying yacht. She assists her father in his work, who is a volcanologist. She's alone at present, a scientist and an artist, and waiting for her father to get back with her art supplies; from his teaching job. Moreover, he has lost all his memories.
This is the second M&B in a row where I am reading about highly qualified women and it has been such a great experience. No doormats! It was amusing to see the hero bossing over our heroine, or at least trying to, no doubt an inherent nature of his! And it was also great reading about a new profession, volcanology.
Josephine, who has mostly lived an isolated life, is so riveted by this stranger that within a few days of living together, they are drawn to each other, he because of her passion in her work and her natural beauty. But, he's also frustrated with his memory not returning. He has snippets, remembering this or that, but nowhere near what could be called a full recovery.
During their lovemaking, a few days into it, she confesses her love for him. He doesn't reciprocate, not knowing who he is. And then, later that night, everything comes back to him. His memory and his betrothal clashed with his present.
He is thirty-four to her twenty-four. She comes to know all about him when her father unexpectedly arrives two days before he was scheduled to and brings with him newspapers revealing his identity, while Alexander still hasn't told her who he actually is. Fearing goodbyes, she doesn't even stay on the island to bid him one when her father calls for help for him with the new radio he brought. Though his memory of the accident is still elusive.
The story has been likened to Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. I loved Queen Serena, she has quite the sense of humour, that too in a short role. She reaches out to him when she comes to know she's pregnant, and thankfully there is not much drama there! I liked this book, but couldn't love it.
The last chapter is the saving grace, otherwise, towards the end, this book gets too gloomy, especially for an M&B.
Out of the six books that I have read of Jane Porter, Kidnapped for His Royal Duty is my favourite.

This book has all the elements of a great Harlequin Present story. A sweet woman, Josephine, coming to the rescue of a handsome man, Alexander. Unknown to Josephine and to Alexander, he is a Prince! What comes next makes this read a great one! Just enough turmoil to make it interesting, and very likeable characters!

There’s going to be a lot of gushing while summarizing over the events of the book so be prepared if you don’t want to read lots of gushing or what happened in the entire book because you will find out in this “review”. That’s your second warning. Turn back now if you don’t want to know what happens in this story.
With this story there was just so many things to gush over and adore that I adored that I don’t know where to start expect from the begin. The action started directly after the prologue which set up Alexander’s circumstances as well as his inner conflicts that he was having over said circumstances. Those circumstances brought his to an island that was used by scientists to study the volcano on that island. It was used by no others and only a father and daughter team lived on this island for the past eight years to study it. At the time Josephine was alone on this island due to her father being a professor and had gone to teach at the university. But Josephine was used to that and didn’t have problem with that due to fact that she had grew up in isolation away from society for a majority of her life. She preferred it that way because she didn’t fit in socially with other people. So, she was used to be alone until Alexander’s friends brought their yacht to the island for his bachelor weekend. Even though she hated all that activity, she couldn’t help but be intrigued by him and was immediately compelled to draw him. She never introduced herself, but she observed in the shadows and liked what she saw. She saw more than met the eye with Alexander like his aloofness and preoccupation with everything. He wasn’t happy, which made her incredible sad for him, but she also wanted to soothe him, which she never wanted to do for another person in her life.
Things get complicated, but the story really took off, when one night Josephine heard some loud arguing on the yacht with then someone falling over said yacht. Without even blinking, she jumped into the water to save this person that was a stranger to her. She was a little warrior woman, knowing she needed to save this person’s life. With all the strength and might that she could muster, she managed to pull none other than Alexander out of the water, resuscitate him, and save his life. It was just an awesome moment. It showed her great strength, her determination, and her moral compass of right and wrong. It just showed her great character that I immediately connected with and knew I was going to root for the way the whole way through.
But it wasn’t only that that made her a great character. She was so much more than that as it was shown when she started taking care of Alexander. She was kind, tender and gentle when she tended his wounds. She helped get his fever down. She was attentive and watched him like a hawk as he recovered. I just love the whole caregiver or taking care of someone when sick trope in romance because it just showed all that compassion and caring for an individual when at their most vulnerable, So, I knew that Josephine had the purest of heart and that she would be extremely trustworthy of a person. She was going to be one of those sweet, lovable heroines that I was going to adore, and she totally was.
Once Alexander woke up though, he had amnesia. He had no idea who was, where he was, or who this woman was that was taken care of him. He was a blank slate. He had to put his trust in Josephine in order to overcome this ordeal, and he did especially when he found out that she saved him. From the moment he did wake up, they shared this connection and bond not only because she saved his life, but because of something more that went beyond that. Something that neither one of them had experienced before.
But they were more than able to explore the connection between them after all they were the only two people on this island. Their own romantic island paradise because they couldn’t reach the outside world due the radio she had was busted so they were completely alone, together without much to do. What could the do, but enjoy this romantic island together?
What I appreciated the most was they didn’t hop into a physical relationship right away, and they did get to know each other first as they lived day to day on the island. They would have these great conversations together that really built intimacy between them. The connection just kept growing and growing and growing. They found each other interesting even though Alexander had no idea who he was. They still had intellectual conversations together about eh environment, and how she was able to live on these island all these years fully sustainable. The more they talked, the more they learned about Alexander and some of his interests even if he couldn’t remember them. What Josephine thought he would find boring about her was what he found most interesting like the environmental stuff. He was drawn to her beauty, her intelligence, her strength, and just overall aura. It was like light was drawing him in to her and knew that she was special. Josephine realized that she could fit in and have those conversations with him in a way that she never had before. He didn’t make her feel awkward or social inept. For the first time ever she could be herself and not be embarrassed by it. I loved that.
Then what was beautiful was the first time scene. First off it started off as a lovely dinner date scene with them enjoying each other company and just talking. It was really sweet and tender. It deepened their connection and bond even more. The physical attraction was strong between them that really started off slowly from the moment his eyes met hers when he woke up, but then became more intense as they spent more time together. On this magical and romantic night, it all came to a head. It was so beautiful to see them coming together as one. Their minds were already connected, but now so were their bodies too. That passion for one another just really leapt off the page. It was intense and emotional. It was as sweet as it was passionate. It was just done really, really well. It was such a special and great moment only meant for the two of them. I loved that.
But things must come to end at some point after spending quite a bit of time together and making love, his identity as Prince Alexander (Alexander found out the night before) came out once her father returned to the island. The rescue party came. She was so heartbroken that she couldn’t even managed to say goodbye. They were no longer in that romantic bubble anymore they had to return to reality once more. It was heartbreaking to see them separating after building that strong bond and connection between them. It was like tearing apart a soul in half and leaving everything else behind. It was really emotional.
The reunion was inevitable once Josephine learned she was pregnant then he came to get her to go to the palace to become his wife. They had a little battle of wills with some hurt feelings going on between her not saying goodbye and him getting his memory about his identity back but not telling her. It was not all smooth sailing and roses after that either as they fought with how they were going tot handle the situation with marriage being on the forefront of Alexander while it wasn’t on Josephine. So, they had that back and forth throughout the story while still dealing with sizzling chemistry that they had for one another, which made everything even more intense between the two of them.
Once she did agree, things did get better between them. In fact, it showed how much they truly cared about each other. He cared about her being her not being something she was not like they were trying to make her over to be. He even stated he hated all of that makeup and tight fitting clothes that so weren’t her. He wanted her and nothing other than that. He like natural beauty, not overly dolled up version of her. He was just really sweet and very complimentary towards her as she navigated this new world around her. He wanted her to be happy. One of my favorite moments of that time, was when he planned a dinner date with her on one of his countries volcanos, which she loved and just showed how much he truly knew her as a person. It was really romantic and very sweet. They had great moments of affection between them as they enjoyed each other’s company just like they did on the island together. Passion between them still existed and even seemed to increase in intensity as they had no physical intimacy since the island. But they could finally embrace that after the romantic evening they had together that just brought them even closer together.
My tiny complaint with this story was the fact that love scene wasn’t shown in detailed like the ones on the island. I would have liked to see that scene just to see the increase in emotional intimacy between them as well as the intensity and love in their lovemaking. I wanted to see that tender love scene. I just wanted to see that scene after so long of not having it.
Tragedy then struck, which lead to some conflict between them because Josephine thought that Alexander didn’t need her anymore, and he really didn’t do anything to constrict that at first even though I knew he was in with her heart, body, and soul, but he wasn’t ready to say that to her yet. He came off as cold, unfeeling and just wanted to stick to the plan and not think of anyone’s feelings where it would derail his plan. That caused so bruised and hurt feelings for Josephine. She believed he didn’t care or lover her like she did him. That broke her heart as it did mine because it was very clear that they needed one another because they really did have something special and loving together.
When things get revealed of what happened to the night that Alexander fell off the night was when they big declaration of love came from him. He was so eloquent with his words as he spoke about his love and need for her. How he couldn’t live with out her because she was his missing piece to his soul. He couldn’t imagine having anyone else but her. They had this special love between them that they needed to embrace and not push away. He was so sweet and loving in that moment with tons of tender gestures that showed his actions fitted with his words. So, beautiful.
What really took that cake that just made me swoon was what he did for her at the end of this story. It was beyond sweet and special that it just warmed my heart so much when he did this. He gave her her own isolated, private island like the one she had lived on for the past eight years. Not only was it the island, but he also recreated the house on this new island that was near identical to the one on the old island, giving them their own private retreat that they could come together for a romantic getaway. It was somewhere they could create new memories together. This was such an epic and grand gesture that I could barely stand it. He didn’t need to prove his love and devotion to her because he already proved it with his words the chapter before, but he topped it with this gesture. It was so loving, so sweet, so tender and just special. He just showed the epitomized what a romantic hero should be in romances. He didn’t need to prove it, but he did tenfold. It just made my heart happy. I got all warm and fuzzy inside. It was perfection, and I loved so much he did this for her as a special gift. I was sold on their romance before when they were on the old island, then when he made his declaration, but I went beyond sold when he did this. It was the perfect ending.
If you couldn’t tell, I utterly adored and loved this so much from page on all the way to the end. There was so many amazing things in this story that I complete fell hard for the story and its characters. There romance was beyond anything that I could imagine. This had everything that I wanted and more. It just blew my mind how incredible this romantic journey was. It was compelling. It was engaging. There was plenty of romance and romantic moments between the two both on the island and at the palace. There was great intimacy building both physically and emotionally. I loved all the tenderness and affectionate moments between them that weren’t just in the bedroom. I felt the intensity of their bond and connection. I felt their love and adoration for each other even if the words weren’t spoken. It was emotional at times. It had a great storyline with her rescuing him, taking care of him then him having amnesia. It showed them falling in love with each other. It had some mystery and suspense going on, which kept me on my toes. It was a very descriptive read with the writing taking me right into the settings with Alexander and Josephine whether that meant the island or the palace. It was just an incredible reading experience that I really enjoyed and want to enjoy again sometime in the future because I just loved it so much. It was utter perfection.
Highly recommend for Harlequin Presents readers and readers that love seeing couples fall in love with each other and not just in the bedroom either. Any lovers of really affectation and tender scenes as well as some great date nights I think will love this as well.

One of my favorite moments of that time, was when he planned a dinner date with her on one of his countries volcanos, which she loved and just showed how much he truly knew her as a person. It was really romantic and very sweet. They had great moments of affection between them as they enjoyed each other’s company just like they did on the island together. Passion between them still existed and even seemed to increase in intensity as they had no physical intimacy since the island. But they could finally embrace that after the romantic evening they had together that just brought them even closer together.
My tiny complaint with this story was the fact that love scene wasn’t shown in detailed like the ones on the island. I would have liked to see that scene just to see the increase in emotional intimacy between them as well as the intensity and love in their lovemaking. I wanted to see that tender love scene. I just wanted to see that scene after so long of not having it.
Tragedy then struck, which lead to some conflict between them because Josephine thought that Alexander didn’t need her anymore, and he really didn’t do anything to constrict that at first even though I knew he was in with her heart, body, and soul, but he wasn’t ready to say that to her yet. He came off as cold, unfeeling and just wanted to stick to the plan and not think of anyone’s feelings where it would derail his plan. That caused so bruised and hurt feelings for Josephine. She believed he didn’t care or lover her like she did him. That broke her heart as it did mine because it was very clear that they needed one another because they really did have something special and loving together.
When things get revealed of what happened to the night that Alexander fell off the night was when they big declaration of love came from him. He was so eloquent with his words as he spoke about his love and need for her. How he couldn’t live with out her because she was his missing piece to his soul. He couldn’t imagine having anyone else but her. They had this special love between them that they needed to embrace and not push away. He was so sweet and loving in that moment with tons of tender gestures that showed his actions fitted with his words. So, beautiful.
What really took that cake that just made me swoon was what he did for her at the end of this story. It was beyond sweet and special that it just warmed my heart so much when he did this. He gave her her own isolated, private island like the one she had lived on for the past eight years. Not only was it the island, but he also recreated the house on this new island that was near identical to the one on the old island, giving them their own private retreat that they could come together for a romantic getaway. It was somewhere they could create new memories together. This was such an epic and grand gesture that I could barely stand it. He didn’t need to prove his love and devotion to her because he already proved it with his words the chapter before, but he topped it with this gesture. It was so loving, so sweet, so tender and just special. He just showed the epitomized what a romantic hero should be in romances. He didn’t need to prove it, but he did tenfold. It just made my heart happy. I got all warm and fuzzy inside. It was perfection, and I loved so much he did this for her as a special gift. I was sold on their romance before when they were on the old island, then when he made his declaration, but I went beyond sold when he did this. It was the perfect ending.
If you couldn’t tell, I utterly adored and loved this so much from page on all the way to the end. There was so many amazing things in this story that I complete fell hard for the story and its characters. There romance was beyond anything that I could imagine. This had everything that I wanted and more. It just blew my mind how incredible this romantic journey was. It was compelling. It was engaging. There was plenty of romance and romantic moments between the two both on the island and at the palace. There was great intimacy building both physically and emotionally. I loved all the tenderness and affectionate moments between them that weren’t just in the bedroom. I felt the intensity of their bond and connection. I felt their love and adoration for each other even if the words weren’t spoken. It was emotional at times. It had a great storyline with her rescuing him, taking care of him then him having amnesia. It showed them falling in love with each other. It had some mystery and suspense going on, which kept me on my toes. It was a very descriptive read with the writing taking me right into the settings with Alexander and Josephine whether that meant the island or the palace. It was just an incredible reading experience that I really enjoyed and want to enjoy again sometime in the future because I just loved it so much. It was utter perfection.
Highly recommend for Harlequin Presents readers and readers that love seeing couples fall in love with each other and not just in the bedroom either. Any lovers of really affectation and tender scenes as well as some great date nights I think will love this as well.

Jane Porter's heroine, Josephine, was so easy to love. She is a scientist, living on a small deserted island used for volcanic research. Her father is a professor of Volcanology and she works with him on his research. She has been home schooled and is not socially adept at all. She prefers to be on her own, in the country or on a deserted island than to be in a town or city. She is not happy when a yacht full of people docks at her island, with their noise and partying. She notices one guy who doesn't party like the others. He keeps himself apart. She is fascinated by him and spends time sketching him.
Alexander is the future king of his small Mediterranean country, Aargau. He's engaged to be married in a few weeks and his friends have taken him on a stag cruise around the Mediterranean. His yacht docks at Josephine's island and stays there for a week thinking the island deserted.
On the night they depart, Josephine notices that someone has fallen off the back of the yacht. She dives in and is fortunate to find and save the person. After dragging him to shore, she realizes that he is the guy she's been watching all week.
Unfortunately, the fall off the boat and the large cut on the back of his head has given him amnesia. He doesn't know who he is. He doesn't even remember his name. She cares for him and as he recovers, the chemistry between them becomes obvious. They spend an idyllic few days together, until her father returns to the island earlier than expected and brings the truth with him.
I was hooked by this book from the very first few pages. I took me into the characters worlds and made me the fly on the wall. I understood the choices that the prince had to make, even when I disliked him for them. His reaction to the trauma the Josephine went through made me want to pack her bags and call the cab for her. She deserved so much more than his butt ugly reaction. But all's well and all that. In the end he made up for it all so beautifully. He won my approval all over again.
Well worth the read. I know that i will be dusting this one off and reading it again in the future.

Josephine is an innocent. Her life revolves around her work with her father and life on an isolated island. When she rescues a drowning man, she sets in motion life changing events. Alexander suffered a blow to his head and he doesn’t remember who he is or what happened on the yacht. Who is he and did someone want to kill him? Being alone together they grow close. The setting is the perfect backdrop for romance. I loved seeing them together. They made the perfect couple. I found their romance sweet as well as passionate. Josephine is a great character. She’s caring, intelligent but has inner strength. She will always do what’s right. Alexander is a good man. He will carry out his duties as a Prince and heir to the throne. He doesn’t want to hurt Josephine but he knows he will. I wish that he told her when he remembered who he was. When circumstances get complicated they are forced to marry. I wanted them to overcome their issues. Unfortunately palace life and royal protocol make that extremely difficult. Add a devious enemy and Alexander becoming king and you have a compelling story. I could put down The Prince’s Scandalous Wedding Vow until I got my HEA. Jane Porter has written a wonderful story. There is emotion, passion and a royal romance. This book is a keeper.

The Prince's Scandalous Wedding Vow by Jane Porter. This book pulled me in from the beginning. I've read other books by author and she never disappoints me with her writing. What can happen when a Prince falls off a yacht, forgets his memory and a young sweet scientist saves his life. Enjoyable storyline, characters and dialogue. I look forward to reading more by author in the future.

Josephine was one of the most loveable heroines ever, and she really was one cause she jumped in the water when she saw someone go off the back of a yacht into the water and not resurface,she didn’t know who it was, he was unconscious under the water and she saved his life, a true heroine.
Yes I cared for Josephine and her and Alexander’s love story took me to see what life on an island was like, it made me smile and brought me to tears, made me cheer, it kept me turning the pages. I did not want it to end, had it been a movie I would have watched it through again. A movie? Oh yes please someone put this book on film.

When Josephine jumped in the ocean to rescue someone who fell off a yacht, she had no idea it was the mysterious man she had seen on the beach with his friends. She also had no idea he was really a prince.
Prince Alexander woke up with no memory of who he was or where he was. He definitely didn’t know he was engaged to be married soon or about to become King of Aargau. But, he did know that he was attracted to the woman who was caring for him. She was smart, beautiful and loving. And, he could tell she wanted him as much as he wanted her. But, when Josephine’s father returned to the secluded Greek island where they lived, he knew exactly who Alexander was and he called the authorities to have him taken home to his family.
Josephine and Alexander only had a week together, but it was long enough for her to end up pregnant. How will Alexander react when he finds out?
As soon as I started reading this book, I knew I was going to have a hard time putting it down. I was intrigued by Josephine’s life on a secluded island with her volcanologist father. Then, there was Alexander, the prince who was about to be married, on a bachelor cruise with his friends, who ends up fighting with someone and going overboard and ending up with amnesia. It was fun to read about a hero with amnesia, especially a royal one. The story moved along nicely and had a lot of memorable scenes. How Alexander ended up going overboard remained a mystery through the book and I was surprised to find out how it happened and who was responsible. Reading this book was a pleasurable way to spend a few hours. I only wish it was longer. I would enjoy reading more about these characters.

Josephine has been watching the stranger on her beach and one night before the yacht leaves, she hears an argument and sees someone fall into the water. Josephine rescues him but he has amnesia. They spend a week out of time in her remote home. They give into the attraction and just before her father returns, he remembers who he was but doesn't tell her. With her father's help, he returns home but she doesn't say goodbye. An unexpected surprise has her contacting him again. Alexander sweeps in and takes her home with him. He gets her to agree to marry him. The only catch is the mystery still surrounding why he went overboard as Alexander still doesn't remember. Two days before their wedding, tragedy strikes but Alexander still insists on marrying. Just after their marriage, King Bruno dies and Alexander will be the next King. After the funeral Josephine was going to leave but Alexander finally gives his verbal love which she has been waiting for. Through confessions and finding lost security tapes, the truth of what happened on the yacht comes out and his cousin Damian's treacherous actions come to light for which he is barred from ever entering Aargau again. Josephine stands by Alexander's side through this and they finally get their happily ever after including a special house for their family.

Rated 4.25, I literally would've given it 5 stars if there was no miscarriage, it kinda ruined it for me 😭😭😭 The story was so good, the angst, the conflict, the mystery are everything. I love the heroine, she had courage and was so innocent. She was smart, and not a doormat for sure. The hero might seem very cold, but he was actually pretty romantic. They both were also funny and they can actually joke, well not so hilarious but I get it.
The story started out like The Little Mermaid, as the heroine rescued the prince who was drowning. She took care of him until he was well, and the chemistry couldn't be avoided. The heroine lived alone in an island as she was also a volcanologist, her father was out when they met. The Prince's Scandalous Wedding Vow
I loved the way this story unfolded. There was romance and action. The love that unfolded between Prince Alexander and Josephine was wonderful. Cousin Damien's attempt on the prince's life and his attempt to take the prince Alexander's place on the throne added spice. The reader's emotions were prodded again when Alexander's father, the king, died from cancer, Josephine and Alexander's baby died, and Alexander discovered the last memories from his amnesia. So much angist! In the end, the characters found a resolution and a happy ending. I recommend this book to all romantics. It was a great read.

4.5 stars. I was hooked from the first page! I absolutely loved the H and h's secret time together on a Greek island before he realized who he was and what his duties were. Jo was captivated by him and she was so beautiful and intelligent. Life in the palace was predictably stressful as Prince Alexander's personality changed and even though they experienced such disappointment ( no spoiler here), he always realized how much he needed her and wanted her in his life. A HEA for a delightful couple. Such a wonderful HP to read!

I enjoyed curling up with this one and getting lost for a few hours. It had a strong heroine, a hero who was lost until she rescued him…literally, some amnesia, with a twist, and royalty. I enjoyed Josephine as a heroine and she deserved her own Happily Ever After, as did Alexander. Jane Porter never disappoints. For me, her stories are always easy to get lost in, and this one remained true to form.
