Nina is a college freshman whose roommate is dating a fraternity brother of popular junior Carter Montgomery. Via circumstance and proximity, they’re mostly just a little more than acquaintances, but not for Carter’s lack of trying.

I liked how Nina didn’t initially give in to Carter’s flirting and come-ons nor was she pining over him. The story avoided the clichéd virginal, sheltered, tongue-tied freshman characterization and instead presented a heroine who engaged in typical college activity, wasn’t looking to settle down at nineteen, and who could hold her own with an experienced frat boy. It led to a stronger female presentation, but also pages of banter where their chemistry brewed. And while it helped build the sexual tension between them, it also made Carter work for it and in the process have feelings for her beyond simply lust.

Now that’s romance!

And it paid off as once the duo ducked under the covers (or against the classroom wall), their encounters were hot and authentic.

“Honestly, I don’t think lightning could’ve struck my dick any harder, and no thunderstorm would’ve left it so drenched.”

I liked both Nina and Carter’s characters. While it would have been nice to see the hints of their family backgrounds fleshed out a little more, for the most part they were developed enough through the course of the story to form a clear picture their personalities.

Even though Carter was a former manwhore and there were the occasional references (nothing too skeevy though), it was a cute journey watching him squirm when Nina insisted on the no commitment arrangement.
“I was worried she’d meet someone else, worried she’d hear a story about me that would be one rumor too far, worried she’d get bored, worried I was giving too much of myself away to someone who thought I was capable of nothing more than a good time.”

Carter’s past aside, he really knew how to woo the girl once he was hooked on Nina. (Chapter 24 was my fav, but he could be my Valentine any time too.) And while I wanted to talk some sense into him right along with everyone else when he let his worries get the better of him, I also adored him a little more for caring about limiting Nina’s freedom so early in her college life.

Told via their dual alternating first person POV, this no-strings friends with benefits tale has a perfect balance of steam and swoon.
“Even the way he slipped inside me was slow and intense. As if he were deliberately waiting for our heartbeats to sync up before fucking me.”

If you enjoy relatively low angst, safe, sweet, and sexy college romance, you’ll want to grab a bag of M&M’s and settle in for this one!

Is there anything better than a good friends with benefits romance? I mean it just sounds sinfully delicious, doesn't it? It's been a long dry stretch for Nina as she's gun-shy after some bad breakups. She's ready to dip her toes back into the water, but only for sex . . . absolutely no emotional attachments allowed. Carter is the college campus stud - a real hottie that women desire and men envy. He's mister love 'em and leave 'em begging for more. Who could have known Carter had his eye on hot, little green-eyed Nina for anything more than a romp in the hay? Not her, for sure. After a crazy night of drinking, they wake up naked in the same bed, and an agreement to be friends with benefits is signed, sealed, and delivered . . . with an addendum including the hook-up rules - friend zone only. What will happen when they both venture across the line, breaking their own rules?

Friends With Benefits is a charming, sassy, emotional rollercoaster for both readers and these characters. Told through alternating first-person pov chapters, readers get inside each character's head while they are both in the dark as to what the other is thinking. What ensues is a series of misunderstandings and miscommunications leading to hidden feelings and mixed signals that greatly increase the danger of someone getting hurt. While this can be an overdone trope, Kelly keeps the emotions real and the action moving with a lot of witty banter, sizzling sexual encounters, and inner emotional turmoil. The result is a relatively low-angst, yet highly entertaining romance featuring two well-fleshed out, likeable characters that are easy to pull for. This one will tug on your heart-strings even as you scream "tell him/her how you really feel"! Friends With Benefits is a flirty, emotionally-charged Must Read! I loved it!

*With many thanks to the author for a review copy of this book!

I'm not going to make all my decisions in this life based on a promise that sounds too good to be true.

This was a pretty good read. Two people hooking up and hiding it from their friends. Both of them catching feelings, but neither one of them wants to admit it. Basically my favorite trope and everything I live for in new adult.

The two mains have a deep connection and the naughty bits really reflect that. Super steamy.

All in all an enjoyable new adult read with the secret screw buddies trope. 🤗

Nina has an itch that needs scratching and her friends think she needs to sort out a FWB arrangement, some nice casual sex with no ties. There is one guy she has in mind, Carter. Sure, he has a bit of a reputation with the ladies but he constantly hits on Nina so he may be open to an ‘arrangement’ with her.

Carter has had the hots for Nina since he first laid eyes on her but no mater how many times he tries, she always shoots him down. Then one night everything changes and he cannot believe his luck when Nina spends the night with him. Yes, he has been a player since he got to college but Nina is definitely different, she is not really a one night stand girl. However, she has some rules she puts in place.

Carter and Nina are officially FWB’s but at times the lines get blurred because there are definitely moments of sweetness and romance between them. When jealousy comes into play too both of them have pause to doubt. Are they getting too serious and when did casual turn into something more? Nina doesn’t want to set herself up for heartbreak but it may be a little too late for that. Carter thinks he finally has found the girl of his dreams but does she feel the same way as he does?

This was my lazy Saturday morning reading in bed indulgence. This is a new to me author and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read this book. It was a fun, light hearted romance set in a college environment, with plenty of laugh out loud moments.

I found the H so skivvy 🤮 that I was NOT rooting for them. He’s known her since the start of the year, she’s a freshman, and he’s a senior. She’s been on his radar, romantically he hasn’t been on hers especially because of his notorious “womaniser” title but she does see him as a friend.

So H not celibate since meeting h, the h has been, it’s implied she hasn’t been with anyone since her boyfriend cheated on her senior year in high school.

Back to the skivvy behaviour, we get a lot of indications of the hero’s past. Like the semester before, the H was tangled up with FOUR girls. FOUR. And then there’s girls hanging around. His college bedroom has seen too much activity.

Frankly, maybe that gives him “skills” she can appreciate opposed to her fumbling exes BUT I’d be looking at the guy as one walking disease magnet and wouldn’t want to lie down on his sheets, but that’s just me, so, we will move on, because he was a very nice person.

She proposes the friends with benefits idea (non exclusive) because she knows how he is, and she isn’t open to anything more because relationships have let her down in the past. Both think the other is still dating OP even though neither have since entering the arrangement.

H breaks up with her very callously when he assumes she is “dating” this guy and finds out about her tinder account, and feels hurt because he’s in love with her. Paraphrasing he says that they should end this experiment, see other people, were never really together to begin with. She was coming to tell him she was falling for him, of course. 🤷‍♀️

4 weeks of no interaction, no OP. Suddenly he’s in her grill trying to take her to her cousins wedding which she asked him to be her date to before they ended and is asking for her to forgive him. Where the change in attitude came a month later, I have no clue.

During the wedding this is a conversation between her parents and him:

“So you believe in marriage?”

Christ.

“I do,” Carter said, causing my whole body to erupt in chills. “Though I don't think it's right for everyone.”

“Do you think it will be right for you?” my mom asked, failing to sound casual.

I leaned back against the pew and prayed for the music to start.

“If that's what Nina wants.”

What?! I snapped my head towards Carter.

“Good answer,” my dad said approvingly, flanked by my mom's enthusiastic smile.”

You know if a guy even TRIED to suck up to my parents like that when they didn’t know that he unceremoniously dumped me a month ago, never spoke to me, and now is trying to get into my good graces, I fully would’ve said:

“Yeah marriage definitely isn’t for everyone. It’s especially not for men that dump girls by letting them know they want to fuck other people and then try to win back their exes when the grass isn’t greener.”

He’s worth forgiving because he didn’t do anything unforgiving but I wouldn’t accept that bullshit with my parents. So all in all, if she was going to take him back, a MONTH of grovelling would’ve been satisfactory not a night of it.

On top of that there was this weird KKK reference in the book, and just the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.

To be honest, I should have been on the lookout as the two other books of Hazel Kelly that I’ve read, I’ve given 1 star to.

Romantic, cute, and delightfully steamy!

Friends with Benefits is a lighthearted, entertaining rom-com featuring the fun-loving, weary, Nina and the confident, cocky, Carter as they discover they might just be perfect for each other and actually want more than just a few benefits on the side.

The writing is effortless and fluid. The characters are hesitant, charming, and endearing. And the plot is a sweet tale of friendship, love, drama, flirty banter, palpable chemistry, sizzling romance, and campus life.

Overall, I would have to say that Friends with Benefits is a quick, adorable, passionate read by Kelly that has an amusing storyline, engaging characters, and a happy-ever-after ending that will make you smile.

Thank you to Hazel Kelly for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This story is your classic new adult, college romance story and it was exactly what I needed to break up all the angsty, emotional drama I have been reading lately. I am a big fan of the whole manwhore getting his arse kicked by love thing. And this was that to a T.

Nina was such a sweetheart but she made all the classic stupid girl mistakes that drive me a little crazy. And while I understood that she was trying to prevent getting her heart broken I just wanted to shake her and tell her to use her big girl words.

Carter, well he was Carter and honestly I think I cut these guys so much slack because let's face it teenage boys/young men are stupid. They do (with few exceptions) think mostly with their little head and Carter wasn't one of the exceptions.

And honestly if this book wasn't written in dual points of view I would have hated it. But getting to know them both and what they were thinking and feeling I was able to forgive them both their stupidity and hope that they would set aside their pride and actually let the other know what they were feeling.

But then as I said this was a typical new adult, college romance and I got exactly what I expected and it was exactly what I needed and having seen the blurb for the next book I am looking forward to Sadie and who I am assuming is Carter's brother's story.

Maybe I have read too many good books to appreciate that simple of a storyline any more or maybe the book is indeed too simple for anyone who needs a good fun and light romance; I really don't know.

It’s the college stuff. A player who has too many girls begging for a taste of him but he has his eyes on Nina now. Nina, on the other hand, has been cheated on three times by her boyfriends and now she doesn’t want a serious relationship. She is only willing to give him a friends-with-benefits arrangement but she acts too nonchalant about it, saying both parties can sleep with whomever they want and they will just be doing it together sometimes for the fun of it. Even our man-whore hero doesn’t feel OK with it but he wants to take whatever she is willing to so he kinda agrees.

The rest of the book is lots and lots of sex and some light talk between them. He wants more and thinks she doesn’t but he still tries to break her rules. She starts to want more but assumes he has lots of girls besides her so she doesn’t want to confess she wants more.

Assuming assuming assuming.

That finally takes them to a break-up, during which he hurts her feelings a lot because of his jealousy. After a miserable month, he makes up for it and grovels nicely to win her heart.

That’s all about it.

The characters are cute, though, likable at least. However, it is the storyline that definitely needs some improvement. It is too shallow like this.

The book is in dual point of view and safe as there is no one else for both of them after they become a couple, even the way she suggested was not safe. However, if you need your couple to be celibate as soon as they meet, I am not sure it was the case here.

All in all, this was a very uninteresting read that surely won't leave a lingering effect on me. I have read some light books and I remember the very good ones, and I am sure I won’t remember much about this book after a week or so.

P.S. Tsk tsk tsk, there is slut-shaming in the book.

Ms. Kelly is new to me as an author and I was hoping for a lighter, steamy, college read with banter and relationship building based on the blurb. That's exactly what I got and it was a great read. Friends with Benefits also had some more emotional moments and connections. This was a character focused story with typical college scenes of campus activities and parties. This is dual POV, first person.

Nina and Carter are friendly and when Nina proposes this arrangement, she sets up rules to protect herself because she has a history of being hurt in relationships and Carter has a history as a ladies' man (it's important to note, it's a history in the past for this book). Fairly quickly, Carter wants more in his POV chapters, but doesn't feel like she does and thinks she's also seeing other guys. Nina ends up wanting more, but thinks he wouldn't and is convinced he must still be seeing other women. It was both sweet and hard to read how great they were together and if just one of them took the leap to confess their deeper feelings, then the other would too so they'd be together. They do have some bumps to get through because of the lack of communication.

Both do eventually end up on the same page and there's a happy for now ending. There's no other woman/man drama, other than them thinking there might be other women/men (which there's not).

HOLY SMOKES!

Okay, this book is HOT. First of all.

While the premise of this book is not a new one (the whole "let's just be friends and fool around and we will both promise not to get emotionally attached, but then we end up getting emotionally attached" scenario), what I loved the most about THIS version of the trope is the amount of emotion Hazel made me feel, especially the latter part of the book.

I also loved the dialogue. The snarky back-and-forth Carter and Nina had was my kind of humor, my kind of tone, and I thoroughly enjoyed how they would joke with each other. They had the feeling of truly liking each other, not just wanting to get into each others' pants.

I read A LOT of books, but Carter is definitely one of my favorite book-boyfriends. If you like college romances, he will be one of your favorites, too!

Though I haven't read any books by Hazel before, I will ABSOLUTELY be reading more by her. For me, she may be one of those authors whose synopses I don't even read, I just know that if they wrote it, the book will be phenomenal, regardless of the story line.

(I was given a copy of this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book :) this is the second book in a series, but since it was my very first story by this author, you can believe me when I say that it works perfectly well as a standalone :) you get all the informations you need to enjoy this story :) and even though I had some small issues with this one, I will definitely check out Hazel's other books, because I loved her writing style :) so first, let me tell you a bit more about what it's all about, and then I will jump into my thoughts and feelings about it :)

This novel is set in college, and tells the story of Carter and Nina... they've been friends for a while now, but Carter always had his eyes on Nina... but since she saw him only as a womanizer and a player, she never took him and his flirting seriously... so when one night, prompted after her dry spell, she offers him to become friends with benefits he takes that as his chance to win her over for more than just short term pleasure ;) that's basically all I can tell you about the story without spoiling you certain things :) so instead, let's just get into all my thoughts and feelings where I can share a bit more ;)

My favourtie part of the whole book was the writing style :) it was entertaning and pulled me into the story immediately :) the banter between Carter and Nina especially is worth mentioning... their jokes and all that, were highlights of the book :) so even though I had some issues with the story and certain things our main couple did and gave this book a solid 4 stars, I will definitely check out Hazel's other novels :) I'm looking forward to see what she will do with other types of stories and / or characters :) but back to Carter and Nina... I had to remind myself that since they are still in college and young, they have a right to not have everything figured out and they can make mistakes... maybe it's because I'm a bit older and in a different place in my life currently, there were times when I wanted to smack them and shout "just talk honestly with each other, that would solve ALL your problems" ;) they had this amazing banter and sizzling chemistry, and yet had so much troubles admitting their true feelings... *sighs* ;) that of course resulted in some drama and missunderstanding that was resolved in a way I have some mixed feelings about... on the one hand, it happened pretty fast once they actually talked (a bit too fast for me, I would love to see more progress before the happy ending) and on the other hand it took way too long for them to actually talk again... so yeah... take that in whatever way you want ;) don't get me wrong, I really liked them both, but sometimes they frustrated me... ;) besides them we had some appearances from the couple from the first book in the series, and I am definitely gonna read it at some point :) if you are in a mood for friends with benefits trope with a very entertaining writing style and a bit of angst, I definitely recommend you guys to give this one a try :)

XOXO

"I was sick as hell of living for someday. I wanted to enjoy this day and tomorrow and the next day, one day at a time."
AHHHHH!!!!! Why is this over?! Can I go back to the person I was when I read the first page for the first time??!!
This book follows Nina, a freshman in college, and Carter, an upperclassmen with a playboy reputation on campus. We met both of them in the first book so I went into this novel already loving Nina. Carter, on the other hand, had to win me over since we didn't see as much of him as we did Nina. Verdict: Let's just say that Carter more than won my heart!!! He honestly didn't seem like the guy bad enough for the reputation of being a playboy. Sure he's a flirt but I didn't really see much of his playboy ways to think of him that way, but I went along with it for story's sake haha. Either way, he was one of the best male characters I've ever read. The way he responded to things around him had me in awe. He was also SO HILARIOUS?! Like in a way I've never seen before. I busted out laughing from things he said, so much that I sometimes startled even myself.
Nina and Carter's chemistry, physically and emotionally, was so unbelievably perfect that I am slightly disappointed it took me this long to meet them. Honestly, if they had stayed good friends, I wouldn't have been mad at it because their friendship was too beautiful for words. I fell in love with their friendship before I fell for their romance. I was smiling so hard at them that I might now have a permanent grin on my face. I am so obsessed with them now, it's ridiculous. If anybody asks me what is the perfect couple they need to read about, this will be the first book to come to mind. These two characters deserved the entire world at their feet and that's exactly what they got.
My absolute favorite part of this entire book wasn't the romance or all the steamy scenes (and boy did they steam up my room. I am still wondering how they haven't set my Kindle on fire yet, to be honest. I'll have to watch out for that.), but the banter itself. Having read many, many, romance novels in the past few years, all the banter now seems too similar for any enjoyment but that wasn't the case in this novel at all. Hazel Kelly has written such unique banter between them that I couldn't get enough! I haven't laughed so hard at banter in so long, that I honestly don't think I ever have. They were just so cute together that my entire body hurt over it.
Also, I have never had the pleasure of relating to a main character like I did with Nina. I've never met another person, real of fake, that loves ranch as much as I do and for that, I am grateful. We need more dipping sauce lovers in books!
I almost went through this entire book without shedding a tear but Hazel Kelly wasn't having any of that. At the very last sentence of that epilogue, my entire heart was fully ripped from me. I've never cried over a sentence as hard as I did over that one. I'm not going to write it here just so people can have a chance to experience it themselves. I may have lost my marbles at that sentence but I loved every second of it.
I've never been so beyond appreciative over an experience in my life the way I am over having had the pleasure of reading this book. I wish I never had to say goodbye -badbye- to Carter and Nina. I mean, we will most likely see cameos on the next book but it won't be enough for me. What will my life become now that I'm no longer following them around everywhere, devouring their unique banter? I'm having a crisis and I need to be cured with at least 4 more books following these two exclusively. Where can I put in my request?
6/5 stars!

Flirty, angsty and a swoon worthy forever after, Hazel Kelly brings it all to the pages with Friends with Benefits book two in her Beta Brothers series! It is always nice to read a work that deals with universal relationship issues and moves them beyond generic. Hazel Kelly did a great job of writing a book that while filled with charm tackled her characters vulnerabilities and hopes in a way that made Friends with Benefits an entertaining read that went beyond superficial.

Carter's reputation as a player served him well until it prevented the one girl he was truly interested in from taking him seriously. Nina had bad luck in relationships to the point that she was beginning to think attracting cheaters was part of her genetic makeup. These leads shared more in common than their outer facades revealed and were ultimately two lonely people terrified to risk being hurt, resorting to the boundaries of "friends with Benefits" to avoid heartache.

Carter and Nina were easy to develop a reader rapport with. Each character brought an element of likability to the story. What started off as a fling with no commitment rapidly became a lot more as the leads each tried to decipher the feelings they were developing for each other. The self-sabotaging that each party brought into the mix as their insecurities started to surface was carried out skillfully by this author. Ms. Kelly with insight and a lot of steam was able to evolve these characters from the consequences of their mistakes in a believable manner.

Friends with Benefits was the right mix of fun and serious showing off Hazel Kelly's tremendous talent for a great read!

*While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone.*

I read this book, not knowing this same author wrote My Best Friends Ex, which I did not like! I didn't know till I was finished, or I prob wouldn't have even touched this one. She seemed to have learned some lessons from the first book...at least I hope she did and this wasn't just a fluke, but I probably won't read any books from her with out information first.

This book was ok, I appreciated there wasn't any OW drama, no virgins, and the heroine was pretty feisty. The hero in this book was lightyears better than the one in the other book, which wasn't hard to do! Story wise it was a typical former manwhore, and the girl who tries to resist him. He was a manwhore before he knew her and before she was even at college, it was implied he hadn't been with anyone since he met her, it wasn't totally clear but I chose to take it that way. I got a little kick out of the fact he immediately wanted more, and she didn't totally. He didn't know how to handle it, so I appreciated that vulnerability he had. What kind of killed it for me was their angst was built on miscommunication, neither would tell the other how they felt, so of course he got in his feelings and cruelly dismissed her, and then expected her to just forgive him when he got his head out of his ass.

Nothing new here so that is why I didn't rate it higher.

Review by Lisa Kane

Carter has hidden his feelings for Nina ever since he first met her. He's a bit of a player, but if she would give him a sign that she was the least interested in him, his player ways would be a thing of the past.

Nina hasn't had much luck in her relationships. She's still hurting and doesn't want a relationship. But she does want a little fun under the covers. She's always thought Carter is hot but he's a junior with a ton of experience, she's a freshman and pretty innocent compared to him. She has no idea that he is so into her. The opportunity for the two of them to hook up comes along and they suddenly are friends with benefits. It's going to stay casual and no one's going to get hurt. Right?

I think I most liked Carter's POV in this story. He's wanted to be with Nina all along, but he knows she's content to just keep things physical. He's the one who wants more. As sweet as he is, he's a man and we all know that means he's going to screw up. And he does. Will Nina forgive him?

This was a cute read, and it's not necessary to read book #1 to understand and catch on to the other character's histories.

I really enjoyed Nina and Carter’s story. One aspect that I definitely liked was how Carter was the first one who wanted to be more than just “friends with benefits” with Nina and it was up to Nina to realize her feelings for him and want more. The way the author wrote Carter’s POV, you could feel how much he truly wanted more with Nina and it made me root for him throughout the book. Overall, it was a sweet story. There was good chemistry between Nina and Carter and the banter between them was great (i.e. Ranch and Reese's). Both characters are very likeable and it was good to see Zoey and Logan (from My Best Friend’s Ex) in this book also.

I received a copy of this book to read and provide an honest review.

From the book blurb - "Carter's been crazy about Nina since the first time he saw her emerald eyes, but his fratastic reputation landed him in the friend zone before he even had a chance to say, "How you doin'?"

And that is a problem because Nina is so wary of Carter's reputation that she can't conceive of them as being anything more than friends with benefits, while Carter wants so much more.

This book completely captured me and I loved it. The story is engaging the writing is great. It's a fun, sexy romance with some really hot steamy scenes. Their first time together had me melting! I will definitely be looking to read more by this new-to-me author, Hazel Kelly.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It was a little less than ok. The characters were nice with lots
Of fun bantering but even that became a little much.
The book was good until they started having sex; bc then the book became all about sex with lack of storyline. Therefore, when they weren’t having sex; they were each imagining how they were falling hard for the other person. 🙄
Became kinda repetitive.

Not necessarily something I would recommend if you are looking for a developed storyline.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Nina decides that after so many disappointments with the boys, she just wants a physical relationship. And the best candiddate she can think of is Carter. They are friends, but not that close, and hot.
He is not very convinced, because he likes her a lot, but accepts.
But we know, dear friends, that trying a physical relationship and not let the feelings get involved is not that easy, right?
The story is nice. It's really easy to read. And Carter is amazing.

I love Nina and Carter!!!

Friends with Benefits was written beautifully. This is the second book I have read by Hazel and I could tell the difference in her writing. Friends with Benefits was everything and more. Carter is in his third year of college and Nina is in her first year. Friends with benefits is never easy so what was Nina thinking with all of the rules she put into place. There's bound to be some heartache but can a friendship or relationship be rebuilt?

"No one had labored over my lips like that, like every inch of them was a melting popsicle that needed immediate attention."
I loved this book! I don't usually read college romances but this one was magnificent. The author, who is new to me, writes with flair and humor. Her use of the English language is excellent. I enjoyed every sentence, and have a kindle notebook full of quotes that I love. Will definitely read more by this author!
"The way her emerald eyes sparkled to an unexpected compliment."
"Love is a form of insanity...And you've obviously lost your mind."
"As if her smile were not only life-affirming for me now, but life-giving."
I could go on and on. This was a story I won't soon forget.

This book was just as good as I hoped it would be after meeting both Carter and Nina in the first Beta Brothers book. I adored both of them and loved seeing them grow together in love. They both frustrated me with different things but in the end, I completely adored them and was happy with the ending. I need to read more Hazel Kelly. She's great.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book! Not only do we get to read about Nina and Carter, but we get to see Logan and Zoey too!! I know this can be a stand-alone book, but I would recommend you read My Best Friend's Ex first. Then you will know why I am so excited about seeing Logan and Zoey again.

Nina has had a dry spell in the love department. Her last 3 boyfriends have cheated on her, so why should she put herself out there again? Her cousin suggests Carter.

Carter is a man whore, plain and simple. He has the charm and skills to get any woman he wants. He spends a lot of time with Nina as their best friends are a couple. Carter really likes Nina, but never acts on it.

Nina approaches Carter with this proposition and SHE makes the rules.

What neither was planning on was feelings coming into the mix.

Carter then does something stupid and loses Nina.

Read this book to see one of the most romantic book boyfriends treats a crush that turns into something more.

Sadie’s need to mention the kkk was really misplaced. I don’t see what the point of it was but like I’m trying to read s romance friend not get into a conversation about how shitty our society is. I read this stuff to get away from that.

Besides that most of this was funny and or cute. But a lot was very very cringey to say the least. I’ve never been fond of men using the term babe over and over or over exaggerating blow jobs/sex.

The month they spent apart was also irritating because it was a simple fix. All they had to do was be honest with one another. It was dragged out for no real reason beyond having a conflict to separate the characters.

It wasn’t hideous to read but it definitely could be better.

I am absolutely in love with Nina and Carter’s Story, Friends With Benefits was refreshing, charismatic, & just what the dr ordered. Nina was absolutely adorable, while Carter was mostly a gentleman, and I can honestly say at one point Hazel brought a gasp and a horrified tear to my eye, I was that invested in Carter and Nina...

Another terrific read!!!!
There’s no surprise that this is another wonderful read by Ms. Kelly (she NEVER disappoints). I had a hard time putting this book down for housework, but made a little time. Wonderful characters, story, and writing as always!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This is the first book from this author I have read but it will not be my last! Carter & Nina! I loved them. Friends with benefits always sounds good until real feelings get involved. Can Nina handle Carter’s playboy ways? Can she change Carter from his ways? Who will fall first? Nina or Carter? Absolutely loved this book!
