It has been said that there is nothing like the love between a mother and a son. St. Jude Momma is a love story about one mother's journey when her son was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor at almost 2.5 years old. Equipped with ((HUGS!!)) and kisses in his pocket, the pair journeys to St. Jude in Memphis to navigate lessons of strength, determination, and faith.
Words can't describe how powerful this story is, and the fact that this really happened - and continues to happen to kids - makes it all that more gut-wrenching and poignant. It is, indeed, a love story, and one that continues to live on in the hearts of so many. Everyone should read this!
God bless any parent that loses a child by any means. How painful to watch them go through so much and then lose them. Carter sounds like he was a very special little boy; a gift from God. It also gives us a glimpse into the St Jude world, one that sounds very loving and caring. I didn't really care for the author's writing style although I understand that it is journal style. The prayers were repetitive and wordy (just this Christian's personal opinion). There were quite a few grammatical errors which I think is a disservice from the editors and proofreaders to the author; a former teacher. I wish there was more about the effect Carter's illness and death had on Paul and Mason.
Thank you Sarah for sharing your journey with us! Carter truly does live on through your words! Though I never knew Carter in the physical world, I will keep his story going.
