3.5 stars for the Audiobook
Tristan James's voice is pleasant the problem is he doesn't give the characters distinct voices. *Le sigh!*
This was a wonderful ending to Nic and Cam's story.
I Loved
- The mystery, kept me on the edge until the end. We finally get all the answers, that was satisfying.
- Nic and Cam's relationship - Their relationship is effortless, chemistry on point and the sex hot!
-The family feel between all the characters is refreshing.
-Jamie and Aiden's cameo is always welcomed.
Overall it was an entertaining read.

Noble Hops is book 3 in the Trouble Brewing series, and cannot be read as a standalone. You should definitely read the first two books in the series, as well as the original series, Irish & Whiskey, which will not be a hardship at all.
The story continues with Nic trying to take down Vaughn and his goons as well as trying to find the moles in the FBI and Nic’s office. All the while, Nic is struggling with his emotions and coming to terms with a secret his father kept from him. As always, Cam is there as well as his “chosen” family to support him and also help with tracking Vaughn. There are a few twists and turns that I certainly didn’t expect, but definitely added to the story.
Even though I loved the crime/suspense aspect of the story, there was also a lot of romance, not sex, just tender moments between Nic and Cam. A secret smile, a special look, a fleeting touch, just a way to connect during a stressful time. I did get a little teary eyed during a few sweet scenes, especially when Nic finally realizes who has his back, both personally and professionally.
I highly recommend this series and I am definitely crossing my fingers that there is more to come, because I am certainly not ready to say goodbye to the gang just yet

I loved this one, but I kind of loved the previous book more. Maybe that's why I can't rate this with 5 stars.
It's the third book in the Trouble Brewing series. The books in this series must be read in order.
I devoured the first two books. I really loved the dynamics between the main characters and their pasts, their secrets.
This book was packed with a lot of action AND suspense. The moles are revealed. The bad guys are punished. We also get some surprises, but to be honest I kind of expected some of them, so it was nothing earth shattering for me.
Nic and Cam were extremely sweet here. I absolutely adored them as a couple! I was so invested into the story and I loved how the suspense didn't take ALL the light from them. They were so in love and the ending was super sweet and my favorite kind of HEA!
It was great to revisit Aidan and Jamie. I loved all Nic and Cam's friends. They all had their backs.
My favorite book in this series is still book #2 Craft Brew. But we got an amazing ending to this series!

Happy dance : what a great series mixing sexy characters, romance with a lot of chemistry and a deep connection, a nice dose of steam well complimented but not overshadowed by some suspense/plot/action. Yep, entertaining and hot 😍
After everything that happened in the first parts, it was time for Cam (35), an FBI agent and Nic (45), an US attorney to find the mole in the office and to deal with the mess coming from the unsavoury dealings and partners of Nic’s father. And to fully embrace their strong relationships.
Second series from Layla Reyne and I’m a fan. She delivered one of my favorite characters with Jamie in her “agents Irish and Whiskey” series and one of my favorite couples with Cam/Nic in this series : they found each other, they were meant to be together and they nurtured their bond to my utmost satisfaction !!!

Hand on his shoulder, Cam spun him around, cutting off his words with a thief of a kiss - stealing his breath, his heart, his whole world. He could take it all, as long as Nic got to spend the rest of his life tasting his beer on Cam's lips.
I have to be honest, I'm a wee bit bummed. I absolutely ADORE Cam and Nic, but in this final installment of the series, the suspense element completely overshadowed everything. Don't get me wrong, the suspense was really good...but I'm a romance reader first and foremost, and there really wasn't as much of it here as I would have liked.
This was more of a suspense novel that happened to have a couple in love as its main characters.
But still, even with that, Cam and Nic owned my heart! ♥ ♥ ♥

This is the conclusion of the series Trouble Brewing, and wow, what a rush it was! All the questions were answered, all the demons were slayed and all the secrets of the past were laid to rest. This was a real page-turner full of suspense, intrigue and strong men and women working together to uphold the law and protect the innocent.
Nic and Cam live together now and are so happy. Professionally they are the best team there is. Nothing should stand in the way of building their future but it seems that the evil mastermind that has been tormenting them for a long time has attacked them again but this time Vaughn has bit off way more than he can chew, and Nic and Cam are ready to strike back and put him away for good.
I loved the investigative process, how everyone mobilized and worked on the case. Everyone was here: Aidan and Jamie, Mel and Danny, Lauren, Nic and Cam. They were so clever and enterprising while building the case. I loved all the twists and turns, all of the hurdles they had to overcome, all the curve balls that Ms Reyne threw at them - those were something else. There was danger, jealousy, uncertainty and a lot of fighting but Cam and Nic still found ways to be with each other - the moments were sweet, passionate and funny. Guys didn't disappoint!
The finale was superb! With a hint of desperation, a dash of determination, a pinch of violent struggle justice was served. And it never tasted more delicious. Finally Nic and Cam were together surrounded by their friends and family, and the future never looked brighter. I loved this book and highly recommend it!

Solid 4 stars!
Nice end to a really good series. I definitely enjoy romantic suspense. It adds something to the story besides relationship drama.
Aiden and Jaime are probably still my preferred couple but I really enjoyed Nic and Cam.
I get the feeling Eddie might be getting a book or series next. Perhaps with Garrett?

I need more stars! Lordy but this book was good and it perfectly wrapped up the Trouble Brewing series with a comprehensively tight and fast paced plot.
So many times while reading this my heart was in my mouth wondering just where it was going to go next and how our merry band of suits was going to take the bad guy down.
I won't be spoilering anything, but suffice it to say, the pay off is well worth the efforts expended to reach it and Cam and Nic are as solid as the rock of Gibraltar when it comes to their love and commitment to each other.
There are some surprises on the way, I'd guessed one of them but not necessarily the same circumstances it arose in, but other than that, I was biting my metaphorical nails right to the end.
I'm hoping the next foray will be a sideways shuffle across to the Coast Guard where I'd like to see someone get the better of Eddie and humble him with love!

A solid 4.5 star !!!!
I never did manage to write the reviews for either the Irish and Whiskey trilogy or the first two books of this one, despite these couples being some of my favorites of this year. And I couldn’t contain my excitement when I got approved for this advance copy immediately after I requested, because I really have been waiting to know the conclusion for Nic and Cam’s story. All the intrigue that has been slowly building up for two books finally comes to a head here and I had such fun reading this in a single sitting.
It was difficult to see Nic struggle so much in this book, especially when he just starts feeling happy in his life with Cam and is excited for his future. With his father’s mysterious death and the existence of a sibling revealed along with some of his painful past coming back, he is drowning more in his guilt and wants to keep everyone in his new found family safe. Cam is confident that Nic will succeed in his case and everything will finally go back to normal, but seeing ghosts of Nic’s past leaves him feeling uncertain about their future. He also has to use all his K&R expertise to as well as his love for Nic to keep him from floundering.
It was great to see their relationship grow into such a strong one that even extreme circumstances can’t really separate them. And I finally got what I was waiting for – seeing Nic in his full AUSA mode, building his case, both in and out of the courtroom, outmaneuvering his opponents and never losing sight of his goal even in the direst of circumstances. He is expertly supported by Cam every step of the way – as a partner on the case, a sounding board keeping him tethered to reality and doing the one thing Nic needs most, keeping their family safe. Though the individual mysteries in this series have been interesting, I was quite sure that the mystery related to Vaughn would be predictable, but the author succeeds in pleasantly surprising us there too. Despite seeing the excellent support system this group of friends make in Barrel Proof, it is even more evident in this book where there is more danger and the professional lives of Nic and Cam are at stake. It was such fun to see Aidan, Jamie, Mel, Lauren and all other new additions like AD Moore, Eddie and Garrett play significant roles in finally bringing the truth out and get justice for Nic.
This is a great ending to the amazing love story of Nic and Cam, with a very adorable final chapter that had me grinning all the way through. This book had all the elements I have come to expect from this series – love, friendship, suspense and action – all in good doses, keeping us readers on our toes every step of the way. I’m also sad that the series is over but hope we’ll get a wedding novella, just like we got one for Irish and Whiskey. And do I detect a possible couple for a new series… let’s wait and watch.

NOBLE HOPS was a great mix of mystery, intrigue, action and romance. It was also the perfect ending to this great series.
Cam and Nick finally went head-to-head with the big bad Vaughn in this book. I have been waiting for this to happen since Book 1 and literally screamed with excitement when I was approved for this ARC but, as with final books in a series, there were a lot of expectations going in and fears that they might not be met. I am therefore very glad to report that this fully met all my expectations.
The resolution of the investigations into Vaughn was not as straightforward as you would expect(duh. lol) and I was grateful for it. It was exciting, action-filled and meandering with inter-connecting characters, past acquaintances, lovers and backgrounds that was super satisfying to discover. Concerning the mole-situation, it was a bit obvious as to who they were but, how the people were forced to come out was brilliant. I can't imagine it going any better.
Cam and Nick were fantastic together (both in and out of bed). They made each other better by encouraging strengths and being there for one another through their times of need. It was a true partnership and I loved reading about it. I just wished there had been more of them "romancing" out of bed though.
Overall, I would say this book ended the series beautifully with no loose ends and lingering questions.
Now I have one request for Layla Reyne. Can we please get a pairing between Eddie the bad boy Coast Guard and . It would be awesome!

Cam and Nic have been a fave couple for me alongside Aiden and Jamie, and finally getting the conclusion to their story was awesome, I couldn't put it down - except for the basic human function of sleeping :P.
Cam and Nic are back in this last installment to finally take down Vaughn once and for all, who has been a looming threat since book one.
I did give .5 stars off for not as much romance as I wanted - it was there, but a big part of this book was focused on the case, and Nic's past and all that - and the sex felt rushed, mostly, and given that this was their final book, I feel that those sex scenes, or at least one of them, could have taken it's time and lasted longer.
But ultimately it didn't take too much away from the story, which was exciting and tense and page turning. And despite not as big a focus on Nic and Cam's relationship, it was still there, subtle but strong, and every interaction they had was permeated by their love for each other, and they didn't give up or waver in that love throughout all the ups and downs in this book - even if there was a doubt a few times.
This book tied up all the loose ends well, too - taking care of the moles in the FBI and the Attorney's office Nic worked at, and finally getting Vaughn and Nic and Cam getting to settle down and be happy together. Plus the things from Nic's past that needed to be dealt with, talked about with Cam.
I've loved these two together so much, and I definitely want another short about them, at least, like we got with Aiden and Jamie, and hopefully it can

Audiobook reviewThe beginning of the end. The final chapter. Closure. Answers. That's what Noble Hops brings.
Since the start of this series there has been conflict, there has been mystery and crimes surrounding Nic's father, suspicion of a traitor amongst their ranks and just generally bad stuff happening. Things that was never resolved in the previous books. Now it's all come to heed and it all starts with Nic's father dying. Nic being Nic and with the knowledge he has about his father and the shady dealings going on, immediately suspects foul play and starts to investigate. He investigates the man responsible for blackmailing his father, but he also continues the investigation of the mole within their ranks. Secrets are unravelled, some more shocking and life altering than others. By his side, step by step is Cam. Doing everything he can to help the investigation and in general to keep Nic sane.
Nic and Cam have come a long way since it all started. They aren't perfect by any means, but they are solid. Well for the most part - a long lost first love does shake things up a bit. But sometimes things need to be shaken in order to grow stronger and deeper. I also appreciated that there was no unnecessary drama for the sake of it, no huge misunderstandings. They were adult people (mostly) capable of having mature conversations.
Like the previous books Noble Hops focuses mainly on the mystery and that works for me. I love me a good head scratcher, the race against time, wondering if they'll succeed. Not to mention the plotting and planning. It's all right up my alley so I couldn't have been happier.
Tristan James is not my favourite narrator, that's not a secret. Nor is he by any stretch if the imagination a bad narrator. So I'm chalking it up to chemistry or personal preference. So I tend to try to avoid his works where possible - or at the very least spread them out over time. That being said, he does tend to narrate some of my most anticipated books, which is why I find myself here time and again. Now, James is undoubtedly a talented narrator, I love his voice; it sooths me (a bit too much at times), and he's wonderful with accents. He even does some variations to distinguish between characters.
Yet still it feels like something is missing to me, I'm never engaged. Always on the outside looking in - or wandering off somewhere else. It might be because I don't feel like he's engaged in his narration, but that's highly speculative on my part and should not be interpreted as a fact. That being said, I do recognise that everyone won't feel the same as me, and please do take my comments with a grain of salt. Listen to the samples and make up your own opinion - because you never know, he might just be your next favourite narrator.
I have enjoyed spending time with these men (I was going to write boys, but that kind of creeped me out). It's been a rollercoaster with a lot of ups and down, many tender and sweet moments, but even more nerve racking intense ones. It's been a great ride and I can't wait to see what else Ms. Reyne has up her sleeves.

I’ll admit I was a little nervous going in. I wasn’t sure what Nic was going to get himself involved in. And although he wasn’t perfect in this and there was one instance I wanted to strangle him he mostly behaved and did good. He relied on Cam and the rest of his Family and it worked.
Cam is just such a force. He is so strong but shows a bit of insecurity that makes him so much more.
I liked the twist of fate and how easily it was accepted and how it just seemed to work.
Great three books, great ending.

I've given this a B- at AAR, so that's 3.5 stars rounded up.
Although I haven’t given as high grades to the books in Layla Reyne’s Trouble Brewing series as I did to some of those in her earlier Agents Irish and Whiskey one, for the most part, I’ve enjoyed the novels in spite of their weaknesses. This is primarily because I like the two principals – FBI agent Cameron Byrne and Assistant US Attorney Nic Price – and the sense of family and connections the author has created between them and the recurring secondary characters, most of whom appeared in the earlier series. These are quick, easy reads that are rather like TV shows or action movies in book form; the heroes are impossibly handsome, the ex-SEAL-turned-Lawyer gets to kick ass physically as well as in the courtroom, and the computer experts can hack pretty much everything in the world without breaking a sweat, or turn up all sorts of information in the five minutes it takes most laptops to simply boot up!
So. Taking a degree of suspension of disbelief as read, Noble Hops brings to a close the overarching plotline of the series, in which Nic discovered that his father Curtis Price, a wealthy businessman, was heavily in debt to Duncan Vaughn, a dangerous criminal and slippery character with a finger in many, many pies, that nobody has – as yet – been able to pin anything on. Vaughn tried threatening Nic and his business – the small craft brewery he co-owns with a former SEAL buddy – as a way to force Curtis to pay off his loans, and then to force Nic to pay them – and the fear of putting those he loves in harm’s way led Nic to try to conceal what was happening from Cam and those he’s closest to. Fortunately, by the end of book one, Nic was brought to see that he didn’t have to deal with the situation alone, and now, he and Cam are openly living together and obviously in it for the long haul. That’s not to say Nic isn’t still carrying around a large crate of worry and guilt over events in his past, but he’s at last adjusting to the fact that he has a family now – maybe not a family by blood, but one forged of strong bonds of friendship and loyalty – people who love him and he can trust to have his back.
The book opens as Nic and Cam are attending a ceremony honouring a former colleague of Nic’s when a phone call comes in that changes everything. Curtis Price is dead, and now it’s time to step up the investigation into Duncan Vaughn and start putting the squeeze on him. Cam is worried at the stoic way Nic takes the news – he might have been estranged from Price but the man was his father – but he offers the emotional support Nic needs in order to focus on setting the endgame into play. Nic and the FBI team that includes Cam and his boss, Aidan Talley, have been gradually amassing evidence of Vaughn’s felonious activities and are finally in a position to make a move and bring him down. They have also ascertained the identities of Vaughn’s moles on the inside, one of them a young FBI agent, the other a much more senior staff member whose complicity they’ve long suspected but have not, so far, been able to prove. Everything is in place. Nic is to take his evidence to the Grand Jury in order to obtain the necessary indictments, while Cam and his team will bring Vaughn in – but the discovery of a long-buried family secret and the reappearance in his life of Nic’s first love threaten both the operation and Cam’s peace of mind.
As was the case with Barrel Proof(book three in the Irish and Whiskey series), the focus in Noble Hopsis more on the suspense element of the plot than on the romance, but I didn’t mind that. Nic and Cam have been firmly established as a loving, committed couple; I liked that their personal connection makes them so compatible professionally, and the way that Cam keeps Nic grounded when things look like they might go to shit. I did find Cam’s insecurity about his place in Nic’s life a little unnecessary, but Ms. Reyne doesn’t drag anything out, and watching them pull together in spite of the unfolding chaos around them was sufficient to convince me they have a successful future ahead of them.
But as with the other books in the series, I found some things about the writing that were a bit cheesy and kept taking me out of the story. Ms. Reyne knows how to construct a fairly tight plot and create likeable characters, but some of her dialogue and sentiment is repetitive and a bit creaky. In Craft Brew, Cam kept telling Nic to ‘just breathe’ when he got stressed, and here we get several reminders of how they each need to be ‘Nic/Cam the SEAL/FBI agent’ rather than ‘Nic/Cam the boyfriend’ or ‘Nic the federal prosecutor rather than Nic the brother’. There are several instances where Nic’s internal monologuing about his guilt over his perceived failure to protect his family years earlier crosses the line into the melodramatic, which just felt wrong for a forty-something ex-SEAL Captain and terror of the San Francisco courthouse.
Still, all ends well, Nic, Cam and the crew come out on top and there’s a hint at a possible couple and new direction for a future book or series. Trouble Brewing hasn’t been as big a hit with me as I’d hoped, but Noble Hops rounds out the series nicely, and I’ll be keeping an eye out for Layla Reyne’s next venture.

Noble Hops is the final book in Layla Reyne’s Trouble Brewing series and wraps up both the Vaughn storyline, as well as Cam and Nic’s journey. This one is best read by those familiar with the other books in the series, as this storyline crosses all three books. Bonus points if you are familiar with Reyne’s wonderful Agents Irish and Whiskey series because most of the side characters cross over, but it is not necessary in order to enjoy this one.
As I said, this plot line has been in the works since the start of the series and things come to a head here with Nic’s father and the threats from Vaughn. Nic has been building a case against Vaughn with the FBI’s help, but suddenly it all comes to crisis when his father dies. With Nic as his heir, Vaughn is now turning his sights in Nic’s direction. That is, until they find out that there is another heir and suddenly not only does Nic find out about new family, but there is immediate danger as Vaughn has another leverage point. Reyne does a really nice job with the suspense end of things here and the story has some surprises as well as a lot of excitement. It ties together really well with threads from earlier books and gives Nic not only some closure on many issues, but a chance for Cam to be there to help him through things. I found the suspense part of the story really well done and it brings the storyline to a great close.

I stayed up late reading this last night, it was so good! I’ve enjoyed this series even more than Agents Irish & Whiskey. Nic and Cam have returned from Boston and are immediately hit with the news that Nic’s father is dead. Finally, we get answers to all the questions raised so far, including the meaning of his tattoo. Like the previous books, it’s non-stop action and suspense and the story rockets right along. For example, there are sex scenes but never in a bed. No time for that! The author writes a very good, exciting plot that hangs together well, with plenty of twists and turns. It can seem like the action overtakes the romance but the constant affirmations, stolen moments and Nic and Cam’s internal thoughts keep it front and center. It’s integral to the completion of the case. The ending is incredibly romantic and totally captures the personalities established for the couple. I’m seeing another couple of characters that I’m guessing may be in a future series, I hope! If you’ve been waiting to start this series, get going! Very much recommended. #NobleHops #NetGalley

I loved the first two books and I loved this one as well.
this is a very well done third book in this series. I know that some of my fellow readers are not so fond of Nic and Cam but I love them nearly as much as Aidan and Jamie.

I just devoured this one sitting. I regret nothing.
Nic and Cam... What can I say? They were my favourite couple of 2018, and I'm so bummed that this series has come to an end. At the same time, though, this series is everything I could ever want in a romantic suspense trilogy featuring the same main characters, and the way Layla Reyne ended the series was perfect for these guys!
I love Nic and I love Cam, but I have to say that every single scene with them together is utter perfection.
This final instalment of the Trouble Brewing series begins a couple of months after the end of book 2, Craft Brew, and matters concerning Nic's father's debts to a certain gangster come to a head. We have romance mixed with suspense and friendship and family and love. Certain characters get their comeuppance. Other characters get their happily ever afters. Five glorious stars for this finale!

It’s the end of the Trouble Brewing trilogy, and it was the best one! That both makes me happy, because it ended on a great note, but it also makes me a little sad because now I want to read more about Nic and Cam!
I’m thinking a epilogue short story? Maybe?
Where Imperial Stout caught us all up on the early romance bubbling between Cam and Nic, Craft Brew focused more on Cam’s history. Now with Noble Hops we got to dive into Nic and his history. I far preferred to get this story more than Cam’s, as I feel it’s been the plot that’s been simmering the entire time. The ending felt worth it.
However, the real shining aspect of this trilogy was Cam and Nic, most definitely. There’s some serious chemistry between them, with minimal angst. My favorite! Once they decided to make it work, neither one backed up or flaked out. Even when there was room for a huge blowout or separation, their love kept them communicating.
Communication is key! No matter the relationship!
I really can’t say too much more without giving away the plot, but there were pretty entertaining twists that I hope will be delved into eventually. Perhaps in another book? Perhaps one with GS and a cocky coast guard?
Tell me, Ms Layla Reyne, am I onto something???

While I enjoyed this series overall – and Dom & Cam as a couple – it never had the suspense or urgency that the prior series had. These two just moved along and a steady pace as a couple. The author throws out all the revelations and twists – corrupt cops, a criminal hellbent on making Dom pay his fathers debts and a few life altering surprises - but it really doesn't have a big impact. because the guys are the best of the best in their professions with solid backup so you never really think there’s a chance of them losing, particularly in this final installment. Even so, it has a nice, solid ending that the guys truly deserve.
So this was a good series but it didn’t stand out as much as the Agents Irish & Whiskey – to me anyway.

Most definitely not a standalone, the book quickly jumps into the thick of things and grabbed my attention immediately. I loved seeing the pieces fall in place, as the case against Vaughn came to a head, the moles were revealed, and Cam and Nic’s future was cemented.
Though I anticipated a lot of my questions would be answered in Noble Hops, I was still surprised by many of the twists and reveals that came Nic and Cam’s way. All of these plot points came together to create a really exciting and satisfying conclusion. As with the rest of this and the Agents Irish and Whisky series, the action scenes and quick pacing were on point, keeping me engaged cover to cover and waiting for the next move. And of course, I loved seeing all of the team working this final case together. That close connection they’ve formed over the multiple series was palpable and a gratifying way to say goodbye to one of my very favorite groups of characters. If you’re a fan of romantic suspense novels, the Trouble Brewing series is one I’d easily recommend.

Loved this final installment of Nic and Cameron's story. With their relationship on what seems like solid ground and most of their family issues dealt with these two are hoping for a little peace and quiet in life. Yeah, not going to happen! When Nic's father dies suddenly their peaceful existence is shattered as secrets, lies, and danger come to light. This story is much more action/suspense than romance but a fantastic piece to their story. I highly recommend you read the first two books in the series to really get to know these characters before diving into this one. It's a great series of books that you don't want to miss.

There wasn’t a single part of this book that I wasn’t head over heels in love with. The action was believable and heart stopping. The heat level between Cam and Nic was, just like in the other books in the series, off the charts, the sassy sarcasm was perfect, the surrounding cast of friends amazing. And the love between these two beautiful men was nothing short of pure perfection.
