This book can be summed up in one word/emoji :

God. 🙏
Or maybe...
God? 🤔
But really...
Gawwwwd! 🙄

Perhaps the title should be "All things are possible through God" instead of "I'm possible."

So. It's a little God heavy for me. "Not that there's anything wrong with that!" - Jerry Seinfeld

I'm honestly not sure how to take this book overall. Jeremy has clearly done some good in the world. Right? He's a family man. He's successful. Contributes to worthy causes. So why don't I like him more? I mean he's just an uneducated dude who barely scraped by in school, right? Did you know that? Oh. Well, don't worry, he'll tell you. Then tell you. Then tell you. I'm being harsh, but these and other things picked at me for some reason. Why? I'm left questioning myself almost as much as the book.

And what is the reason for the book exactly?
I really don't know!

To draw attention to worthy causes?
Maybe. Although, he seems to move on from each of them as quickly as we can read about them. (I know that's not entirely true...just reads that way.)

As a legacy for his family?
That's what diaries or just plain old talking is for. Or he could have always self published one copy for them. (Man, I'm a jerk.)

To show that if he can do these things, anyone can?
I gueeeeeeeeesss? No. Not really. I mean that could be why he wrote it and it's a noble thing to say or encourage, but it's just not true. (Gah. Please stop me!)

To make a few bucks by selling the book/courses on his website/the purpose hotel?
Hmmmm. (Waiting to be struck by lightning any second now.)

He had advantages (and to be honest, luck) that many of us don't. Yeah, he worked at it and to his credit, he built on his success and built on it more and more until he seemingly had/has the backing to build his own freaking hotel! This actually might be the secret of his success...getting others on board to back these "adventures". LIGHT BULB! NEW TITLE! "All things are possible through Kickstarter!" (I hate myself). His support system has been tremendous throughout his life, though. From his parents and friends to his wife. Gold medal for the wife by the way! Not sure why Jeremy continually was afraid to tell his wife he'd be jetting off halfway around the world for his latest cause. She never once seemed to think it was a bad idea. Fully supported everything. So either Jeremy is trying really hard to look humble, because he knows what he's doing is in some ways actually very selfish, or his wife's reactions to these "ideas" are actually catastrophically bad and he's covering for her in the book. I suspect the former.

Having said ALL THAT, this book was an easy read. But, at just over 200 pages, I felt like it could have been even shorter. There are many passages and examples that are just plain repetitive. I know things are bad. I get it. I don't need that 7th example of horror you've witnessed at pick a catastrophe.

Okay! I realllllly have to stop now. Even when I tried to switch to the positive side of things, I veered back into oncoming traffic! Review over.

If you are feeling down about yourself and your life – if you are standing before a mountain that you need a miracle to move but can’t begin to even visualize what a mustard seed looks like – if you feel hopeless and need tangible proof that hope and possibility exists – don’t hesitate: pick up a copy of I’m Possible: Jumping Into Fear And Discovering A Life Of Purpose by Jeremy Cowart and begin to read this amazing book right now!

I’m Possible tells the story of Jeremy Cowart – a guy who came to fame when he was named the “Most Influential Photographer On The Internet” by Huffington Post in 2014. Since then, Jeremy has gone on to accomplish dreams and found movements and ministries most of us can’t even begin to conceive of.

But what’s most fascinating about Jeremy isn’t his accomplishments but his backstory.

When Jeremy was growing up, he was, by the world’s standards, a complete and utter failure. Academically speaking, he was a dud. He constantly brought home Cs, Ds, and Fs on his report card. On his 2-day standardized aptitude test, his scores ranged from 5/100 to 15/100 in most categories.

When Jeremy told his parents he couldn’t do something, he wasn’t being lazy - he totally and utterly believed it.

His parents, however, had unwavering faith in him and his abilities. Whenever Jeremy told his parents that he couldn’t do something, they always told him one thing:

You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

So – when Jeremy first discovered that he had an aptitude for art, his parents encouraged him to pursue his dreams. They believed in him and constantly encouraged him to set the bar for his life just a little higher than he felt capable of reaching. Jeremy’s journey wasn’t easy but as he began to listen to his parents believe the things they told him and slowly, his life began to change.

I'm Possible shows us how sometimes, no matter how bad a hand we feel like we are dealt in life, God can use the gift of encouragement to inspire others. Jeremy is also living proof that, when we believe God’s word and apply Scripture to our lives, we can truly transform ourselves and the world around us.

This is a book that everyone should read, but creatively gifted people, those who want to impact the world for God and leave a legacy behind, and those in need of hope will find it especially inspiring!

Jeremy Cowart is a true creative. He is innovative in his craft. He learned the rules of photography, and then broke them. He has a compassionate heart for those who have experienced the hardest tragedies in life. His story is an example someone who recognizes their God-given gifts and uses it to impact others towards Christ as an act of worship. In this book, he lays out his personal journey of learning what his purpose is. He tells of how he traveled around the world to photograph people in the midst of great tragedy and pain in order to help share their story with the world. He went to Haiti in 2010 to capture the aftermath of broken homes and people. Through art therapy with former child soldiers in Uganda, he helped bring emotional healing for young people who lived through unspeakable violence. Cowart shares how inspiration finds him. How God speaks to him through flickering moments of inspiration and the importance of creating quiet spaces to let yourself follow ideas in a world of constant mental stimulation. He pairs his creative gifts with his faith to bring about betterment for those in need, such as sex trafficking victims, the homeless and the poor. He tells of how he learned to not be afraid to dream, no matter how seemingly impossible the idea. His story is characterized by God’s goodness: how through Christ, anything is possible. He shares of where this mindset took him and of God’s faithfulness in his life. He tells of his failures too. “Failure is only failure if you don’t learn the lessons. If you let it keep you down… The biggest dreams are the sum of a hundred smaller dreams. Every holy possibility is the the culmination of so many little decisions. In that way I guess you could say that dreams and possibilities are the product of faithfulness. Faithfulness to ideas, yes. Ultimately though, the fulfillment of dreams and possibilities comes from faithfully following the nudges of God.”

I won’t mince words....this is one of the best books I’ve ever read.

Jeremy Cowart has led such an extraordinary life. His work has taken him to places and events most of us could only dream of. His humanitarian work is plentiful...and fuelled by selflessness. His dreams and aspirations truly have no limits. And all of this coming from a person who growing up continuously told himself “I can’t”.

The first half of this book, where Jeremy talks about growing up, struggling in school, trying to find his way, discovering skills and talents that would lead him into his working life - taking chances....fantastic. All of it, fantastic. I especially enjoyed Jeremy’s internal monologues which would continuously cut through the seriousness of the matter and reveal the everyperson that Jeremy is. The writing of this book was done in a way that I could see Jeremy in the words. He brought me along with him on this journey.

Now.....I haven’t even hit the best parts of this book. Jeremy’s humanitarian work, the projects that he has undertaken that has put the focus on those in need...absolutely spectacular. I can’t begin to describe how in awe and inspired I felt reading chapters after chapter of just sheer awesomeness.

The lessons shared, the feeling that I can make a difference in my own way. Powerful.

The rollercoaster of emotions are enormous with this book. The best part....I am almost 100% certain there’s going to be another book coming from Jeremy in the future. He has too good a story to not share.

I. Can’t. Recommend. This. Book. Highly. Enough.

Now, I’m off to the bookstore to buy a permanent copy for myself. This one is a keeper.

I’m possible is a very good book, if you suffer from depression and you feel like your life means nothing I highly recommend this book. Jeremy was not a very well known person until he became the most influential photographer on the Internet ,and that was around 2014. Since then Jeremy has gone on to accomplish a lot of his dreams and he also helps with a few ministries.

Growing up Jeremy felt very out of place like he was a big time failure academically speaking he was not very good, he constantly would bring home what a lot of kids would call really bad grades you know c’s d’s and f’s, He would tell his parents he couldn’t do it and he actually believed he couldn’t do anything it’s not that he was lazy he just seriously thought that he was not capable of doing something ,but they would always tell him one thing and that thing was Jeremy” you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.”

So when Jeremy started showing his artwork to his parents and they got to see how good he was at art they pushed him and encouraged him to pursue his dream ,they believed in him and constantly encouraged him to help give him a higher selfesteem.

That’s when Jeremy finally was taking his art work and turning it in and finally was noticed and was ranked as the most Influential photographer of the Internet.

Jeremy’s story of how he struggled his whole life and dug his way up out of the darkness and realize that God’s words applied in scripture to our lives can actually transform yourself to be a better person build yourself up and make a difference in the world.

If you ask me Jeremy is now leaving a legacy behind him for his Family showing how God worked in his life through scripture and hopefully he’ll inspire others to do the same.

I also feel that this book is for anybody , especially with a creativity side and are gifted those that want to impact the world so that God can help them leave a legacy behind for their loved ones , this book is for you . I loved reading this book so much that I had my 13 year old read it and she loves it too. I’d rate this material 41/2 stars.
I received this material free and exchange for my honest opinion no matter good or badd thank you book look bloggers for this opportunity.

I just finished reading I’m Possible: Jumping into Fear and Discovering a Life of Purpose by Jeremy Cowart. I found it very inspirational. In full disclosure, I received this book for free as part of a book review program in exchange for a fair review. I am not required to write a positive review, all opinions are my own.
I was not familiar with Jeremy Cowart, but I chose to review this book because i enjoy memoirs. I think everyone has a story to tell that can contribute to improving the world. Jeremy Cowart is a photographer that uses his God-given talents to help others. He is not a typical rags to riches story. In fact, he grew up in a loving and supportive home in Hendersonville, TN ( fun facts: Johnny Cash used to live there and Taylor Swift went to high school there). His grades in school were not great, but his Dad always reminded him of the biblical quote, ” You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.”
Jeremy excelled at art despite his average grades. He was able to make a career with design, but was not happy in an office so he took a chance to start his own company. And later tires of that and moves on to bigger and better things. I like that he is willing to take that leap of faith so many of us only dream of doing- and it paid off. Along the way he met several people that mentored him along his path to being a successful artist.
He now uses his photography skills to help those in need. The book has a section displaying some of his collages and art which are all amazing. He has documented people in Africa. Haiti, and many other places after tragedies so they can tell their story. This has brought awareness to causes and helped raise funds for them.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants more out of life or is still trying to find their purpose. I think it would make an excellent graduation gift too. I love when people use their talents to improve the lives of others and that is exactly what he does. I also enjoyed the inspirational quotes and biblical references.

Jeremy Cowart speaks truth into the fears and hesitations most of us face in life in his book "I'm Possible." Being ordinary or average has turned into an excuse many of us use to reject opportunities or challenges in life, even in the simplest form. Cowart shares from the heart of his own weakness to try new things, all the while hearing from his parents "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

Finally taking that verse to heart, he steps through one amazing adventure after another, giving us encouragement to do the same along the way. It's a book of possibilities, and I think what encouraged me the most was that he wrote this book before one of his greatest dreams has even been fulfilled. That's courage, in and of itself, but serves to remind those who are reading that it's not about what you accomplish but what you try that matters.

I recommend this book for all who are holding back from doing what God is calling them to try. This is a book about making a better world, making an impact, by doing your part, no matter how far it pushes you from your comfort zone. You can do all things through Christ. Thanks, Jeremy, for the reminder.

An esteemed contemporary photographer's account of personal & artistic actualization, thru Christianity. Wonderful book. A little corny at times; but sweet-hearted & devout. One of his associates characterizes the author as being "blessed w/the vision of a spiritual architect." Really authentic testimonial w/God at center, coming straight from the author's life, his diverse artistic career & various other experiences. Very revealing of the fascinating artistic process. ~ ("The creative process & the healing process flow from a single source.") Inspiring!

I received a complimentary copy.

An influencer that opens his heart to art and shares a book that will inspire others. When you have a gift but did not know it truly in your soul and when you are talented beyond years but can not express it enough. By putting so much kindness into his work I think that Jeremy created so much more. The book is going to be a great read for anyone that needs a positive jolt in life or a fresh start.

Jeremy's work is incredibly emotive and soul-stirring. I was excited to read his book after watching a 25-minute mini documentary about his story on YouTube.

However, most of the interesting tidbits were in that video so the book felt like a longer, more repetitive version of the video. If you haven't heard his story before, you'll likely enjoy it more.

I really admire how he's building The Purpose Hotel and hope he'll someday write about the behind-the-scenes journey of that process.

Jeremy Cowart is a photographer / creative I’ve long admired. His candor about his fears and failures is refreshing, and his words on dreaming big dreams and taking risks to realize them are encouraging. Anyone contemplating doing something different - something big that requires a move out of their proverbial comfort zone - would do well to look here for some inspiration.

Jeremy Cowart is one of the best photographers of today's generation. As a photographer myself, I've always greatly looked up to his body of images! It's absolutely stunning! However, Cowart is just that. A photographer. An artist, and a brilliant one for that matter. But he is not a writer, and I feel like it really shows. There are some major problems structurally and things have a tendency to feel a tad dull. This book does what it seems most self-help books do. That is, tell its reader the live their dream (or jump into fear and discover a life of purpose, in this case) but then failed to provide anything other than that. There was no exchange in knowledge. There was no useful tools given on how to jump into fear/discovering a life of purpose. Rather, that's just what we are told to do. (But never how to do it.) Don't get me wrong, it wasn't all bad. Hearing some of the behind the scenes secrets and stories about Cowart's work as a photographer was lovely. I just think this book title is misleading. :(

Using these first steps, Cowart develops his life and craft through his life time, becoming successful in all aspects of his life. Worth the read, I hope you will pick it up and give it a shot.
