I'm an avid reader of this author's work, and Ms Burton's stories just keep getting better! If you read and enjoyed the action, drama and romance of Love Hard Love Deep, then you're in for a treat. Gabriel's Fire gives you more. More excitement; more drama; more passion and sizzle; more emotion--just MORE! As anticipated, the suspense and action in book 2 of The Men of Thorne Enterprises continues to entertain. The twists and turns are flawlessly woven into a story that will draw you in and keep you turning the pages until the end. Ms Burton delivers another brilliantly executed plot--and brilliantly sets us up for the next installment in the series. I can't wait!

Gabriel’s Fire, by Lotchie Burton is another exciting novel in the Men of Thorne Enterprises series. This picks up shortly after where Love Hard, Love Deep left us, with the aftermath of finding Nylah James’ twin sister, Naomi, and the seedy web of human trafficking. Naomi is tough, stubborn, and compassionate, qualities that make Gabriel Cummings, the strong, tormented, former Marine who’s looking out for her even more determined to keep her safe. There’s just one problem: Naomi doesn’t like his over-protective attitude. But they can’t hide their mutual attraction, or fight it. Besides, they have deeper problems to worry about as they look for a missing girl. Their adversaries are ruthless, but they and their allies, including unexpected ones, are determined to save a life. The writing is very good, the pacing is just right, and the passion sizzles between these two people who drive each other crazy in every way. But the story isn’t just sexy and exciting; it’s a heartwarming one that will make readers smile.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ms. Burton is by far my most favorite romantic suspense author. Her writing and stories just keep getting better. Witty dialog and subtle humor keep me turning the pages until the book is finished --much too soon. I feel like I know Gabe (Gabriel) and Naomi (Natalie) personally; the character development is that good. And I love, love, love Dante; he can come to cook for me anytime. Street children; sex trafficking; drug dealers; some good guys; some bad guys; some not so bad guys; this book has it all. It's a must-read. Buy it today.

I’m always annoyed when I realise I’ve come into a series, missing the first book. But Gabriel’s Fire was a story that stood on its own and kept my attention till the last page was turned. Inventive world building and realistic characters enhanced my enjoyment of this well rounded, drama and suspense packed read. Romance that sizzles and burns, then ignites into a fireball, is always a winner in my book. Lotchie Burton’s The Men of Thorne Enterprises series will definitely be placed on my must read list (and I’ll be seeking out book one)!

If you are looking for a well-crafted plot with a slow burn romance, then Gabriel’s Fire is the book for you! Gabriel’s Fire is the second book in Lotchie Burton’s The Men of Thorne Enterprises series. This book combines mystery, drama and romance. I have rarely, if ever, encountered a book in which I found myself so engaged with all parts, equally. I found myself asking the questions, “How have I never read this author before?” and “What other books have I missed out on?” , repeatedly.

The main characters and HEA couple are Naomi and Gabe. Both are headstrong and independent individuals. When Gabe appoints himself, Naomi’s partner after she takes one risk too many, sparks fly. While investigating a possible kidnapping/human trafficking situation with the local homeless shelters, Naomi and Gabe’s relationship begins to transform and develop into something deeper.

Joined by a supporting cast including a brilliant 15 year old runaway and Gabe’s coworkers, Naomi and Gabe’s story is a winner. The author is able to take you through so many emotions throughout this book. I cried for Aaliyah when she took her tattered photo out of her backpack. I swooned right alongside Naomi as Gabe piled on the charm. I laughed at the antics and camaraderie of the gentlemen of Thorne Enterprises.

Love Hard, Love Deep, is the first book in the series. I did not read book one before I read Gabriel’s Fire and believe that aside from some background information, I did not need to in order to fully embrace book two. That being said, I did purchase book one after I completed Gabriel’s Fire because I am hooked on Lotchie Burton books!

This is actually the second book in this series but can be totally read as a stand alone but I actually went and bought book one "Love Hard Love Deep" because I enjoyed this book so much

Naomi The twin sister of Nylah James in the heroine of this book she is a tough woman more than capable of looking after herself and she isn't to impressed that Gabriel Cummins has decided that she needs protecting. Gabriel has his own problem he is carrying mental wounds from his time as a marine. Nether can deny the attraction that is between them but they need to put it on the back burner as the try to rescue another missing girl, but their enemies are determined to destroy them and they will need all their wits to survive. While this is a romance it is really more of a suspense novel it is a long slow burn between these two damaged souls but you just know that they will eventually get there HEA.

I can't recommend this book enough and even though it isn't necessary I would recommend reading the first book as well

Really Good.

I liked this story a lot. I hadn’t read the first book so it did seem like I missed the initial relationship forming but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment. The suspense, mystery, race agains the clock was so engaging.

Both MCs had their issues but you loved them anyways. All the supporting characters were awesome as well. Only thing I wanted to see is Naomi and Nylah conversing at least once. You would think if Nylah went out her way to find her missing sister she’d want to keep in touch. Maybe there is context behind this that I would’ve gotten in the first book.

I see there are books on the other guys but honestly I’m most interested in Dragon.

Overall great read!

i Lotchie,

Gabriel’s Fire Was perfect and really liked the way Gabriel is written he feels restrained, intense, and very human. The story doesn’t rush his emotions, which made the connection feel real rather than forced. I also enjoyed how the Thorne Enterprises world sits quietly in the background while the characters do the heavy lifting.

I’m planning to grab a copy this week it’s the kind of story I’d like to read properly, not just skim.

Wishing you all the best with the series,

In Gabriel's Fire, Lotchie Burton presents a gripping instalment in The Men of Thorne Enterprises series, blending romance, suspense, and intricate character development. This second book dives deeper into the lives of its protagonists, offering readers a captivating narrative filled with emotional depth and thrilling twists.

The story centers around Gabriel, a complex character haunted by his past, and the fierce and resilient woman who challenges him to confront his demons. Burton’s portrayal of their relationship is nuanced; the chemistry between Gabriel and his love interest is palpable, drawing readers into their journey of healing, trust, and self-discovery.

Burton's writing shines in its ability to balance action and emotion. The fast-paced plot keeps readers on the edge of their seats, while the introspective moments allow for meaningful character growth. The author expertly weaves together themes of redemption and forgiveness, making Gabriel's journey not just a personal battle, but a universal exploration of resilience and love.

One of the standout elements of Gabriel's Fire is Burton's skill in world-building. Thorne Enterprises serves as a vibrant backdrop that enhances the narrative, providing the perfect stage for the unfolding drama. The supporting characters are well-developed, adding richness and depth to the story, and subtly driving home the series' overarching themes of loyalty and camaraderie.

While the romance is central to the plot, it never overshadows the thrilling elements that keep the story engaging. Readers will find themselves rooting for Gabriel as he confronts challenges that test his strength and character.

Overall, Gabriel's Fire is a compelling read that captivates from the first page to the last. Lotchie Burton has crafted an intense and emotionally resonant story that leaves readers eager for more. This instalment not only satisfies fans of the series but also stands on its own, making it a must-read for lovers of romance and suspense alike.

Naomi James prefers to work alone. Making Seattle her home and her streets, she doesn’t need Gabriel Cummings watching out for her. After the bad guys with deep pockets get away, she’s determined to stop the human trafficking at the source. Having befriended homeless and runaway fifteen-year-old, Aaliyah, she’ll even settle for Gabe lurking around “protecting” her if it means stopping the kidnapping and selling of young girls. Panicked and looking for her friend, Aaliyah must learn to trust the team at Thorne Enterprises, and their resources, if she’s ever going to get Carol back.

From homeless shelters to drug addicts, back alleys to Pike’s Market “Gabriel’s Fire” is an extraordinary romantic suspense with the tension, passion, intrigue and action that author Lotchie Burton is so good at. No stranger to hard hitting, steamy romances Burton shows readers once again her talent for creating sexy men and strong independent women.

Traversing the complexities and psychological impacts of life after the military, while wading deep into the human trafficking crisis, this is anything but a lighthearted read. However, the dialogue, plot, character development, and chase are as realistic as if you are sweating alongside them. The gripping fear, panic, and chemistry radiates off the page. Burton has created a swoon worthy fight we can all get behind as Gabe works to win the woman and protect the girls.

With twists you won’t see coming, Naomi grapples with giving up a life of loneliness, as the men of Thorne Enterprises swoop in, toys, tricks, and plans up their sleeves to stop trafficking from the top.

A Steamy and Risky Read All-in-One!

This is a book about a group of undercover crime fighters working together to stop a ring of sex-traffickers in an inner city setting. Naomi James; Gabriel Cummings; and Dante Oakes all listen to teenage runaway, Aaliyah’s tales of her time on the streets and how she is worried to death about her friend, Carol who is missing and everything. Naomi and Gabriel have a romance going on and that is why this book is classified as a romantic thriller.
.
I enjoyed this book because of the author’s clear and comprehensive writing. I did not have a hard time navigating through it and there are almost no grammatical mistakes I can detect. (Please note: a book that is a bestseller is one that is easy to read and with a storyline that captures the readers’ attention throughout.) Ms. Burton (the author) is a great author and she is so knowledgeable about this world I am impressed with her for that. I think the story reminds me of the TV series franchise CSI with its gritty and risky nature.
.
I conclude this review by saying that if you are looking for a book that will keep you reading without end, this is that book. It is steamy for the housewife in you. It is adrenaline-rushing for the James Bond in you. In short, a page-turner indeed.

Gabriel’s Fire is an interesting take on romance. It’s full of suspense, crime, healing, and fun banter. It’s the second book in a series, but in my opinion, it can be read as a standalone. Reading the first book would just give you more background and emotional depth, especially when it comes to certain characters. However, this book mainly focuses on Naomi and Gabriel.

It starts with Naomi investigating a dangerous criminal network, while Gabriel takes on the role of her protector. Even though she insists on working alone, he refuses to stay out of it. Their attraction is obvious through their interactions, but they both seem to be in denial about it.

The story revolves around tracking down criminals involved in sex trafficking and the exploitation of young girls. I do wish we got more backstory on the villains—I always find that part interesting—but I understand that the main focus here is Naomi and Gabriel’s journey.I like how strong Naomi is, and I appreciate how the story tackles serious topics while still being engaging and fun to read.

Overall, it’s a solid romantic suspense with a strong lead, emotional depth, and just enough action to keep things moving.

Enticing and sensual, Gabriel’s Fire by Lotchie Burton was a firestorm of hidden feelings and overwhelming emotions. Naomi James is as strong and independent as they come but she’s also very much deep in over her pretty little head. When she finds that she can’t stop the sexy Gabriel from trailing her she reluctantly gives in. She could do with his help but she doesn’t have to like it. It’s a race against time as someone close’s life is in danger– can the two put their differences aside long enough to realize that love of this magnitude only comes once?

Funny and sweet but also tragic and traumatic, Gabriel’s Fire weaves the contrasting emotions neatly together to create a smoldering romance and suspenseful story. The storyline was intense with two particularly stubborn main characters who kept denying themselves a chance at happiness while simultaneously helping each other fight crime. Funny and intriguing, the plot had an unpredictable twist at every turn with characters that coax you into their world and hold you captive till the very last page. I enjoyed this action-packed and fast-paced novel to no end and highly recommend it to fans of romance mixed in with suspense.

Gabriel's Fire is the thrilling second installment in Lotchie Burton's The Men of Throne's Enterprise series. In this novel, Gabriel Cummings has the challenging task of watching over his boss's future sister-in-law, Naomi James. However, Naomi is fiercely independent and resistant to being monitored, continuing her own dangerous nighttime escapades as she connects with informants in the shadows. Together, they find themselves deeply entangled in the perilous world of human trafficking while trying to track down Naomi's favorite runaway.

As they navigate this treacherous landscape, Naomi must learn to trust Gabriel and his team, despite the emotional turmoil that complicates her decisions. Lotchie Burton captivates readers who crave a blend of steamy romance and action, peppered with unexpected twists that lead them down uncharted paths. Gabriel's Fire amplifies the suspense and intrigue introduced in the first book of the series, showcasing the disturbing complexities of human trafficking and the lengths to which traffickers will go to secure their victims.

"Gabriel's Fire" by Lotchie Burton is an exciting romantic suspense novel that follows Naomi James, a federal agent on a mission to stop a human trafficking ring. She reconnects with Gabriel Cummings, an ex-Marine, and together, they face danger. Moving with sub-plots, we would uncover chilling secrets lying in this world. As they progress with their word together, they develop a strong emotional bond.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read as it seamlessly blends action, romance, and serious themes, including trauma and justice. The characters are well-written with precise dimensions. Naomi and Gabriel's relationship feels real, with tension and trust building gradually with each experience they have together. The story is well-paced, with twists and thrills at every turn to keep readers engaged. Overall, I can say it is an intense, emotional read about second chances, courage, and love—perfect for fans of romance with depth and action

Gabriel’s Fire starts like a match being struck in the dark—quick, hot, and a little bit dangerous. I wasn’t ready for how fast I’d care about Naomi. Twenty years missing and she walks back into her own life like a storm pretending to be a breeze.
I liked that Gabe wasn’t some alpha cliché. He’s ex-military, yeah, but he listens. He cares. He’s not perfect, and honestly, I found that way more compelling than the usual brooding tough guy routine.
The book touches some heavy stuff—trauma, memory, human trafficking—and I felt that tension between justice and survival in every scene. I also enjoyed a lot of the themes around identity, trust, and rebuilding yourself when everything feels broken.
It’s emotional without dragging, action-packed without drowning in explosions. And the way Burton handles romantic tension? Subtle but sharp. It worked.

As many others said, this is the second book in the series, but it works great as a stand-alone. However, you should give the first book a chance to learn more about the universe’s lore and character development. Burton does an excellent job sprinkling in small details about the characters and universe so that you don’t feel like you’ve been left out, though.

For this book, my favorite part is the character development. Naomi and Gabriel are complex characters determined to get through life's chaos in very different ways. When they have to partner together, the clashing personalities of Naomi and Gabe add just the right amount of tension, which fuels the passion they find and is only matched by the peril they face.

This is a great book, with the right amount of romance to balance out the suspense and danger on many levels.

This book was practically the definition of a romantic thriller - sizzling moments, a lot of tension, and very high stakes for everyone involved. Naomi is determined, and has no qualms about putting herself in the line of fire if it means helping others. She’s certainly not what Gabriel was expecting, but he doesn’t let it deter him from trying to protect her, and absolutely does nothing to calm the sparks that fly between them. The story has good pacing, and I was really invested in whether they’d be able to rescue the missing girls. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys romantic thrillers. A final note, although this isn’t the first in the series, you can read it just fine as a standalone, but I will be adding book one to my TBR pile!

I’ll admit it—I usually get frustrated when I pick up a book only to realize it’s part of a series and I’ve missed the first one. But Gabriel’s Fire completely held its own as a standalone. I was hooked from the very first chapter.
The world-building is imaginative without being overwhelming, and the characters feel real and grounded. The pacing beautifully balances drama and suspense, keeping me turning pages late into the night. And the romance? It starts slow, builds with tension, and finally explodes into something intense and unforgettable—just the kind of love story I enjoy.
Lotchie Burton has officially earned a spot on my must-read list. I’ll return to find book one in The Men of Thorne Enterprises series.

Sadly, I missed the first book in this series, so I didn't know the background of Naomi, but the book still works as a stand-alone. Naomi is a no-nonsense go-getter, bent on saving a young girl from a terrible crime. (Very fitting for the news cycle of today!) Gabriel wants to help her, but she doesn't want help. However, the attraction between the two of them is undeniable. As Naomi hunts the criminal and tries to save the girl, Gabriel puts his life on the line for her. Will she do the same for him? And, what about his captor? What is his game?
Surprising end - setting up for book 3! Sexy thriller.

Lotchie Burton is my favorite author when it comes to Romantic suspense books!
She tells the story brilliantly, with witty dialog and humor, and the way she gives
good detail on the characters which gives you a good understanding of them,
dragging you more deeper into the story. You have your romance, your mystery,
suspense that keeps you turning those pages! Love Hard, Love Deep, is the first
book in the series., but you don’t need to read that one to get an understanding of
this one. If you're looking for a slow burn romance book then I recommend picking
this one up!

Gabriel's Fire was the second book in the Men of Thorne Enterprises series. Naomi was such a strong character and didn't think she needed Gabriel but he was her match in her all the right ways. This story had it all - off the charts chemistry, witty banter, great secondary characters, and a suspenseful tale full of twists that kept me turning the pages until the very end. I can't wait to see whose story we get next in this series!
