DOUBLE TROUBLE Don't miss the July 2020 anime! As the primary doctor for Lindworm’s monster population, Glenn Litbeit has seen his share of bizarre cases. But nothing can prepare him for the rumors of doppelgangers suddenly plaguing the town. Will Glenn be able to determine the cause of this phenomenon before it overruns Lindworm? Or will his penchant for working himself sick finally get the best of him?
Yikes, this one took me a year to read while I was reading other Light Novels. I think part of the issue as now that we have been introduced to the main characters, there was really nothing new for a majority of the book. That is until the hunt for the mysterious creature that is copying everyone occurs, which I do say had a nice resolution to it.
Overall I enjoyed this book. There was a lot to it that was familiar at this point being the fourth volume, but at the same point there was a bit of new stuff as well to keep it interesting. The usual jokes occur, and you get more of the same from the three previous novels, but it's still feeling pretty fresh. I am a bit worried that the next book will lose some of its charm because it may slip into being annoying, but we will see.
So yeah, if you are reading this series, this one is a good book. The tropes of the series have not become too worn to the reader, and the characters are still pretty interesting. You also get some time with them rather than the doctor, which is really nice. Overall, a good book in the series.
I liked it! I’m not sure if I’m disappointed that the heart ended up becoming another waifu interested in Glenn instead of an interesting evil, but I suppose that’s par for the course. Molly ended out being pretty cool anyway. I wish that the confrontation with her in the alleyway was from Glenn’s perspective, or that we at least knew what was going on in his head. The reader always seems oddly disconnected from Glenn in a way that I’m not sure I like. His deductions and plans often happen outside of the reader’s view which keeps me guessing about him. Oh well, I’m still interested in the series. On to the next.
Much like the previous parts it is an entertaining story with the good doctor dealing with individual cases that together deal with a bigger story. Several parts are also told from other points of view, giving some insights in other characters besides the doctor. The biggest downside is that is a bit short even for a light novel. Still, if you like the previous parts, you like this one.
Such a fun read and the intro of Molly who is a fascinating new character and I really like the graveyard town and it’s potential. One of the better volumes so far.
