A trouble-making Scottish lass catches the attention of the most dangerous man in Venice.
(Previously published as Collecting Isobelle.)

Isobelle's soft heart and penchant for trouble has delivered her to the shores of Venice, and to the attention of God's Dragon, a man whose responsibilities include trying witches. Her Highland guardian has his eye on the New World, but if he doesn't stay close, Isobelle will end up in the dragon's fire.

Temptation hasn't been a problem for Gaspar in years, but when a fiery Scotswoman bursts into his territory spouting words of witchcraft, he's tempted to get away from her--fast. But the beauty is a danger to herself, and who better to eliminate that danger, than God's Dragon? It will be a simple thing, surely, to keep her from reaching beneath his armor...

GASPAR was previously published as Collecting Isobelle. Double check your library before purchasing.

I love this author. But, this is not my favorite. This is an emotionally abusive relationship.

I love the series but I'm not sure I love this one so much. I liked it though. But it was a tad disturbing. Isobelle should not fall in love and therefore eventually marry her captor. It's creepy. And it's ok to forgive, but it's good to never forget. People don't change that fast...or that much. BUT, it is a story. It blends well with the series and I do love the series. I sure wish the Kindle edition had this cover (above) and title. Gaspar isn't even Scottish. Why would the guy on the cover wear a kilt? But who cares. It's still a good read and I hope you'll give the entire series a try. It's fun, clean and exciting.

Good but not my favorite

I've read almost all of the Culloden books by Muir and related authors. Have enjoyed all of them. This was the toughest one for me and I almost stopped reading it. Gaspar was just too flawed and he inflicted real psychological damage on Isobelle. Some of the scenes distressed me. It was hard to believe that he finally changed. Looking forward to the next in the series and a little happier tone.

Absolutely Delightful Time Travel Series

Time travel is difficult to write because historical accuracy is required and rarely adhered to which drives me crazy. This writer not only stays true to the period with a rare error but she does so with a lyrical quality to her writing and character conversations. She really is an exceptionally good writer in the genre which makes this series a wonderful discovery on Kindle Unlimited. I am delighted to have gone on these fantastical journeys with the amusing, adventurous characters of James, Isobelle and Gaspar during this Delta COVID pandemic when other avenues of traveling are not safe. 😁

Another excellent read

A lot of angst, serious mental health issues that had the reader seriously concerned most of the book, but a great adventure...despite the scary witch burning and the evils of men of the church given too much power.

And the Great Stories Just Keep Coming!

So glad this book brought a happy ending… was a little uncertain at first but the conclusion was epic… loved the “moo” at the end and so fitting!

I stand by my earlier review when I wasn’t even halfway through it. I only finished it in case there was anything that would pertain to the next book in the series that I would need to know. One star was generous for this disgusting, abusive, “love story.”

The dragon

Isobelle Ross has a way of finding trouble that leaves everyone around her in danger. Gasper wants to save her. Was a delightful plot twist. Just love this series.

Collecting Isabelle: book three

I really like historical romance books especially when it's got them going either back in time or to the future. It really makes a great story. I have read all three books and getting ready to download my 4th installment.

The first two books were fun light reading ("fluff" as my mother calls it). I'm not sure what the author was thinking with this one.

Side note: Why does the woman on the book cover have straight dark hair when Isobelle's curly red hair is practically its own character in the book?

This was my favorite of the Clan Ross books! Isobelle and Gaspar... sigh... Seriously. They're both all kinds of effed up and don't tortured, epically flawed characters make the best reads? Especially when you can still like them despite their actions.

I will say Monty's actions toward the end of the book had me scratching my head - why is he so high-handed and why are Isobelle or Jillian letting him be so high-handed? I dunno, but I wanted someone to bitch-slap him. Anyway, still loved the book.

The Curse

This is the third book that I have read in this series and it was better than last .I'm really enjoying the Clan Ross books .They are funny and romantic with just the right amount of mystery and intrigue. The woman are strong and the men are sexy and possessive. Traveling back and forth through time would be the best adventure. This was a fun time travel series .

book three worth it

Enjoyed the continuing saga of the Ross clan,,looking forward to the last. I love the wit and lack of graphic intimate details, the imagination is good enough. This is one writer I will look for when purchasing my books.

Wonderful book 3

I read this several years ago when I first stumbled upon this series. But I was glad to revisit it again. This makes me grateful to live in the 21st century when a woman can speak her mind without being condemned as a witch.

This was better than "Not Without Juliet" but not as good as "Going Back for Romeo".
