Before buying a book for the AWS Solutions Architect Associate exam, make sure it is for the same version as the exam you are taking. This book is for the SAA-C01 which doesn't exist anymore. The authors have a version of the book for the SAA-C02 coming out at the end of the year.
I was aware of this when buying the book. I bought it anyway because I like learning from paper books. Also, this book is from the same series/publisher as my books so it was a good opportunity to see how another author approached things.
The book was good at explaining the material. It definitely pinpointed my weak areas. And re-loaded information that I knew last year when taking the AWS Developer Associate last year.
The practice questions were good at covering the material as well. They are definitely harder than the real exam, but that's a good thing. It gets you ready. I had a few nits (remember, I write a book in this series, but nothing big.)
I found out there were two online online
I'm giving this book 4 stars because reading an older book for a newer exam is rarely a good idea.

Very information dense book.
The only downside would be lack of chapters on API Gateway, Kinesis, SQS, DynamoDB DAX, and AWS SWF. Other than that, a definite study guide for anyone who has at least 1 year experience with AWS.

Breezed through the latest parts as exam is due tomorrow, sheesh. Most of it I've lived by sweat and blood but it has been a long time since I've sat an examination, may upper powers have mercy on me....

very nice book, allowed me to structure knowledge from training courses and gave another view on some topics, so exam went much easier than I expected

I highly discourage this book. The author attempts several comedic jokes that fall flat. The information is not presented clearly. I have found at least one factually incorrect review question and several others that seem dubious and unlikely to be asked on the real AWS certification exam. The early chapters of this book are significantly worse than the later chapters.
The online website companion to this book is terrible. After registering and receiving a PIN via email, I've observed the error message: "Invalid PIN/Activation Code. Please try again" repeatedly.

Excellently written and organised book! Even a novice like me would find this book extremely useful.
