⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Mercenary Princess (stand-alone). Princess on secret mission is swept off her feet by off-limits Russion playboy!

Mercenary Princess (stand-alone) appears, at first glance, to be the collision of two worlds. We have the prim and proper, good-girl, real-life princess Crown Princess Sophia Helena Loredan. Her life has been mapped out for her and it does not include a notorious playboy.
Russian investor, with a secretive past, Viktor Petrovich Popov has not given much thought to the much younger royal, but upon discovering she may be living a double-life he is intrigued, determined to learn the truth and quite turned on.
The story goes on to follow as Victor tries to unravel all Sophia’s secrets while she has a mission to complete. It’s a whirlwind race, in and out of the bedroom, with seduction, secrets, scandal, betrayal, blackmail, conspiracy and more…
Told from dual POVs, it’s a steamy opposite attracts, forbidden and impossible romantic suspense featuring a hotter-than-sin Russian billionaire who will stop and nothing to get what he wants and a mercenary princess hell-bent on righting a wrong.

Princess Sophia is not like any other princess you've read. She witnesses a murder at the tender age of 16 while at a boarding school with two of her closest friends. When they realize the wealthy families are paying to shove any and all bad deeds under the rug, they decide to take justice into their own hands.
Years later and these mercenaries have slowly and systematically help to serve that justice. While on their current assignment, Sophia's long time crush has taken notice of her at a time when she doesn't need his interference.
Holy moly, Viktor is one hot and intense man. I get why Sophia has been crushing on him since she first saw him at 16 when he visited his brother at the boarding school. He's always been just a dream to her and could never be her reality. Her brother, the King, would not approve of the type of man Viktor is and that has made him off limits. With her families tight hold of her life, she barely manages to do the work she needs to do as a mercenary.
This is by far my favorite interpretation of a royal romance. This was a fresh take on a commonly used trope and I absolutely loved it! This story was intense, fast paced, thrilling and smokin hot! I absolutely loved Viktor and Sophia together. I really hope there are going to be more books with the two friends. I like what I saw for them and I think their stories will be just as good.
I think this is the authors first contemporary story and let me tell you she blew me away! I must also mention that the cover for this book is fantastic! I highly recommend it!

The woman behind the demure façade…
***4.5 Stars***
IF I wasn’t afraid of heights, scared to death of being in danger and didn’t hate wearing heels with a vengeance, I would SOOOOO want to be in the Mercenary Princess’s gang. Well, I would want to be in the parts where you take down baddies and hang out with the gang. I could also handle going to fancy places, wearing fancy clothes and eating fancy food. Not so much when you have to hang with toffee-nosed aristocrats who think they’re better than everyone. Oh, and like I said above…not too keen on being in danger. So, in other words, I’m going to have to live vicariously through Setta Jay’s, exciting Mercenary Socialites lives.
Mercenary Princess is very different from The Guardians of the Realms series but they do have a few things in common which is why I’m such a huge Setta Jay fan. Setta’s heroines are intelligent, courageous and not afraid to get what they want. Her heroes are strong, determined and bossy with all the skills needed to protect those they love. There’s always a cause to fight for and you, as the reader, are ready to sign up to fight the battle alongside the characters. It’s a team effort and each of the characters has a part to play. This team will have your back in good times and bad. Setta Jay's characters are fantastic, and the storylines always manage to suck me in and leave me grinning by the end. SUCCESS!!
I found myself looking at Sophia with a Catherine and Megan type of “Princess” in mind. Like Sophia, I get the impression that what we see in the media is not the real Catherine and Megan. I bet you they are quite capable of swearing like a trooper, have good and bad days and don’t always want to put on a smile. But, you wear a crown, it’s expected that you hold yourself with decorum and put that smile on because you love your job, charities, people and country. It’s an honour and privilege to wear a crown and be treated like a Princess…or so we’re lead to believe.
Sophia is leading a double life. Princess is what people see but Mercenary is what’s behind the façade. With the knowledge Sophia and her Socialite friends have gained throughout their years, it's their mission to bring down those in power who abuse their positions. From a very young age, they have known the hard and brutal way power can give you control. They have seen murder swept under the carpet, the abused being paid off, and greed leading to taking what you want…at any cost. I think this kind of stuff is happening in the real world that we wouldn’t have a clue about. A little part of me was reading and thinking that it would be pretty cool if there was a real Mercenary Socialites group seeking justice and dealing with them.
Viktor…Viktor…Viktor…oh, how I loved this bossy, BOSSY man. What I wouldn’t give for a bit more of a glimpse inside his mind. Brought up in a world where abuse means power, it was surprising to meet such a good man. Oh, he wasn’t too good, mind you. He still has his finger on the pulse and knows how to deal with people who threaten those he loves. Viktor’s power is not from abusing those around him, his power is in knowing the secrets of people in power. And now, it’s time to find out what his demure little Princess is hiding.
Mercenary Princess was an exciting step into a world of glamour and opulence. It’s always a little funny how much pleasure I get knowing that the fairytale isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be. Sure, I could get to wear nice clothes and visit new places, but I would also have to do it while being bored out of my brain. I can’t imagine having a headache and not being able to cancel plans to stay in wearing my comfy clothes. There is no way I’d be able to smile at people who were nasty, evil or deceitful. No crown would ever be worth standing for hours in heels (my back hurts just thinking about it).
In Setta Jay fashion, this is a SEXY story. Sophia’s had a crush on Viktor for years and now that he’s seen her as a woman, he will do all in his power to have and keep her. When Sophia and Viktor come together IT IS HOT!! We can see the connection between the characters and how much trust is gained in the short time they have together. I loved watching their feelings get tangled up with lust and knew that it was always going to be more than they bargained for.
Like any first book in a series, we need to get the lay of the land. Sure, I wanted them to hurry up already but I knew that I needed more than a Wham, Bam, Thank you, Ma’am, to get to know them better. Besides Sophia and Viktor, we also need to meet the other Socialites and the team that has their backs. There are a few people I REALLY want to get to know better, starting with Forde, Titan, James and Ivan. It may seem like I’m only interested in the blokes, but I'm kind of hoping I’ve already met some of their happy ever afters in Jen, Irina and Riot. What I wouldn’t give to see Forde matched up with someone like Gabriella Cruz…hint, hint, nudge, nudge…Setta Jay.

One of the things that really warms my cockles is when I try a new-to-me author's book and love it!
I went into this story blind.
I skimmed the blurb. I bypassed all of the reviews.
I wanted this author's words to take me over and transcend me to another place.
And they did.
From the comfort of my own home, I went on an international tour.
I visited London, Paris, and even a little island called Porenza.
I met foreign dignitaries and partied with socialites.
And I became enthralled by the story of a princess falling for a billionaire bad boy.
This story gave me tons of exciting tidbits to sink my teeth into:
★ an extremely hot and powerful Russian (Viktor) who not only dominated the world and its secrets, but used that power to satisfy every one of his lover's fantasies in the bedroom. He was a certified bad boy. Not the kind of guy mama would approve of. And every bit the man I would lust after in real life. *drool*
★ a prim and proper princess (Sophia), who wore a mask for outsiders, hiding her true feelings, thoughts, and motives. She was definitely more than meets the eye with her circle of friends and their mission of vigilantism.
★ a seedy, creepy, and downright scary character to hate, which gave this story its element of suspense.
★ a bit of lead in to the side characters, tantalizing me with just enough info to have me invested in their own stories. Seriously, do Ivan and Jen hook up?
If this story is what I can expect from Setta Jay, count me in every time!

As a young girl, Sophia and her friends experience a traumatic event that left them feeling helpless and out of control. From that point on they banded together to create a group that could bring down the powerful men that the law couldn’t, or wouldn’t touch. Now, years later, she’s concentrated on her job even as she continues to smile for the press and present the perfect princess persona they all believe her to be. When she runs into the man that she has obsessed over for a decade she suddenly finds herself struggling to keep her princess façade front and center.
Vicktor’s past is painted in blood and violence. People fear him, rightfully so. He is not the type of man that a King or Queen Mother would welcome into their fold as a suitor for their princess. Nevertheless, he craves one night with Sophia. She intrigues him and he wants to know all of her secrets. When each step forward only creates more questions, he is determined to protect her at all cost.
Sophia was strong and independent even as she had to live a freedomless life all the while wearing a mask of conservatism. I respected the way she had learned to tweak the system to work for her own personal agenda. Never brash, she was still capable of cutting a man down in quick order and Vicktor yielded to her dictates in order to gain his own desires.
I absolutely loved how Vicktor wanted to force her to submit to his orders and yearnings and yet he knew the minute he pushed her she would be gone. This was definitely a hero chasing the heroine story and I gobbled it up in quick delicious bites. I absolutely love a hero who gets positively growly at times when not getting his way. And the dirty talk! Holy hotness, with a few guttural words he melted my kindle!
This was a fantastic read with awesome secondary characters that I’m already antsy to read right now! The beginning was a tad bit slow and it took some time for this couple to actually take over the book, but once they did, the story took off like a shot with a pace to match. The steam was scorching and I loved the jealous, possessive and most of all protective tendencies the hero tried to contain. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes hard core alpha heroes (who try not to scare away the girl) and heroines who are smart, a bit feisty, tough but not harsh.

I liked it both two times I read it!
It was an enjoyable suspenseful romance read.
This time though I would have liked if the characters were slightly more developed and if Sophia and Viktor could have communicated further instead of spending their time in his bed.
Viktor was a great character, dark, vicious and possessive.
Sophia’s mercenary actions would be better if they were shown instead of being told.
I am looking forward for Irina’s story, the Mercenary Heiress!! 😈

This author is new to me.
The cover and title caught my attention then the blurb and reviews made this a must read.
It’s crazy OTT.
I mean we have a crown princess and her socialite friends taking down the rich and powerful. It took me a while to settle in but then like I said this is a new author to me so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect.
I’m not sure at what point I stopped settling and started loving but it happened. I was hooked, I couldn’t read fast enough and even fell asleep reading.
Sophie is controlled by her mother and brother the king of Porenza. To the extent where her friends and suitors are chosen for her and she’s afraid it’s only a matter of time before she’s forced to marry.
A devastating event at boarding school changed her life and that of her friends. It opened their eyes to the true evil in the world and the way money and power can be used. It changed the course of their lives and now they use their positions to take down the elite untouchables.
That’s the setting but the real story for me was the romance between Viktor and Sophia.
For eight years she’s dreamed and fantasized about him and now he’s actually noticed her. Can she allow herself to have Viktor even if only for a short time?
This book isn’t perfect (what book is?) but I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait for the next one.
Problems?
There’s a lot of sex. Now I’m not complaining but I would have liked more non-sex time between them. Because of this I didn’t feel their relationship developed as much as it should have. Lack of trust was also an issue but again the relationship wasn’t built up enough.
This is me being picky and despite this I couldn’t get enough and I’m going to check out her Guardians series while I wait for the next Mercenary book.

A book about a badass princess, mercenaries, intrigue and sizzling romance? Yes, count me in!
At least, that's what I was thinking when I read the blurb, but unfortunately the story fell a bit flat in my opinion.
Meet Sophia, the princess of a small island country called Porenza, who leads a double life as part of a vigilante group that targets the evil and corrupt.
She's had a crush on the dangerous Viktor for years, and he finally seems to have noticed her too while she's on a dangerous mission to spy on a target. He's intrigued by her and decides to uncover all her secrets. Sounds interesting right?
I never thought I'd say this, but for me there was waaayyy too much sex in this story, and not enough suspense. I expected so much more intrigue, scheming and dangerous situations, but it seems like the book was focusing more on their nights spent together.
Now, usually, I wouldn't mind that at all, but I had much higher hopes for how this book ended though! The ending felt rushed and didn't keep me on the edge of my seat like I expected to.
Don't get me wrong though, this book was definitely enjoyable if you're searching for steaming hot romance, and the main characters were awesome as well! Everyone knows how much I love kickass females and swoonworthy alpha males, and Sophia and Viktor definitely fit the bill.
If there's ever a sequel to this, I will definitely read it! I'm hoping for a Jen x Ivan and Irina x Titian spin-off!

Sophia is a princess, but her life isn't a fairytale. Her family believes they control her every waking thought, but little do they know she has a secret life no one can imagine. Viktor is the man she has been obsessed with for years. Despite being a billionaire, his family history and dark reputation make even her fantasies borderline treason. Viktor can't help but notice her beauty, but a chance sighting of her doing something incredulous, intrigues him, and sets them in each other's path.
The Good:
1. Sophia is the perfect balance of too good to be true, and bad*ss. I was leery about the blurb, worried the premise would be too hard to pull off believably. I am so happy to be wrong.
2. Viktor is a delicious anti-hero. He is a criminal with a purpose, and a moral compass. The bad guy, the smart bad guys give a wide berth.
3. This is a great Illuminati tinged read. It was easy to sink into the world the writer built.
4. My kindle is on fire. I can't take it! lol The chemistry of this couple was super-hot.
5. Despite being the beginning of a series, it did not end in a cliffhanger.
The Bad:
1. The very beginning was a little heavy on exposition. The way the side characters were introduced made me wonder if this was a spin-off of an unread series.
Final Thoughts:
This is my first time reading this writer, but definitely not my last. I could not put this down, and can't wait to see what happens in the next book with the other characters.

This is my first read by this author, the story started off very slow for me. There was a lot of explanations of things that I would have been alright not knowing. It took some pushing through for my to continue but I am glad I did. The book did in fact pick up and so did the steam. Viktor was a great bossy, protective alpha and Sophia was a strong courageous heroine. I liked the secondary characters as well, Sophia has a lot of great loyal friends. I really want to know more about Forde!! All in all this was a good read you just gotta get through the slow parts. I would read this author again!!

A new series about a group of undercover mercenaries who want revenge on the people who think they can get away with murder. Sophia and her friends witnessed a murder while at boarding school, and then realized the extent of the cover-up. Eight years later, they are determined to get rid of every elite, dirty, person who covered up the murder. And along the way, they take out other bad guys too.
Sophia is a princess with a brother who rules as king, and a mother who rules her life. There is no love in this family, only appearances. Sophia hates it with every fiber of her being, but it also creates a great cover - she is the perfect princess in the public's eye, but can secretly get down and dirty with her mercenary work under the radar.
Sophia is after a bad guy and her childhood crush, Viktor spots her one night - and their eyes meet and lusty thoughts start coming out. Viktor is dark and mysterious. His brother went to Sophia's boarding school, so he knows of her. He also knows she is up to something that doesn't pertain to being a princess. He wants to know all her secrets, and pretty much demands them from her...along with her body. Sophia is weak for his attraction and her body can't help but open to him.
There is a lot of sex in this one, and sometimes I wanted a little non-sex intimacy. Some courtship rather than just continual banging. They have super intense attraction - which is hot! But I wanted more to their relationship. My other complaint is that I felt the suspense, which builds up well in the first half of the book, lacks in the second half.
But I liked Sophia - she is definitely the star of the book, as Viktor takes a little bit of a back seat and I didn't mind that at all. Sophia has a female bodyguard named Jen who I loved. And her team of people are also pretty fun to read about. Some things get set up for the future books in the series.

Mercenary Princess was awesome. I really loved its take on the royal trope. There was mystery, intrigue, an unconventional princess interesting characters (both main and secondary) and a whole lot of sexy. I loved it, loved watching the main characters dance around each other so to speak before giving in to the sexual tension. I'm so ready for the next book in this series. I definitely recommend this book to one and all.

I loved the uniqueness of the story. Vigilante Princess drawn to a dangerous Russian, yes please! With secrets, murder, secrets, spies, secrets, shadowy deals (and did I mention more secrets?) this book kept me glued to my kindle.
Sophia is the prim Princess of Porenza to the media and public but she hides a secret part of herself from everyone but a select few. An unjust killing and a murderer who got away scot free because of his family connections, power and wealth changed Sophia's view of the world and the meaning of justice when she was just a young girl.
Now, she is part of a vigilante group who's mission is to bring down evil and corrupt people who think because they have power and influence, they don't need to worry about consequences or fear any repercussions for their actions. Sophia and her team are all pretty bad ass, loyal to a fault and very ride or die. I liked everyone we were introduced to and can't wait for more of this series!
Sophia and Viktor had the best kind of explosive and all consuming chemistry and I loved them together. Sophia was definitely the focal MC and she was a great character. She had heart, brains and could hold her own when she needed too. This was a princess that didn't need the Prince to save her, she saved herself, which is the best kind of fairy tale ending, IMO. Viktor is a dominate, always-in-control, stubborn Russian but I loved that he learned to compromise and bend his rules for his princess. I love a Hero who is protective, possessive and devoted to his heroine and Viktor checked all these boxes.
Then there's the side characters :) Of course I'm dying to read Irina and Riot's stories but theres also Forde, the secretive Gabriella Cruz and of course, Jen and Ivan. I will be stalking the next in this series for sure.
Would I recommend? Yes. This new series started with a bang. It has a great couple, strong plot and secondary characters you wont help but want to know more of :)

Sophia is a princess that will kick your butt. She witnessed a lot when she was just a teenager. Her friends and her couldn’t take the violence that other royal people were doing. They took a stand and went after the bad to make good again. The mercenary group is amazing. They kick butt at what they do and they take down the most powerful people in the world.
Viktor is smokin hot and such a dangerous man. He has eyes for the princess and can’t keep himself away from her. Viktor and Sophia are amazing together. The love they have for one another is smokin hot. Her dreams and fantasy is about to come true. She has been dreaming about him since she was 16. They come together at the right time for him to help keep her safe and for them to work together. His protection and love for her is outstanding and this book shows it all.
This book is a must read and I cant wait for more. I couldn’t put this book down. This book is going to knock your socks off it’s that good. I can’t say enough about this book. I highly recommend. Stunning, brilliant and keeps you wanting more!!

Interesting concept. Batman, but more James Bond then super hero. It took me a little to get really into the story. It jumps in really fast and it almost felt like I missed something. Viktor was hot, Russian growling and pet names are always a turn on. Sophia didn’t lose her way and she did stay the course of what she wanted to accomplish, which I liked because a great deal of the time the woman gets the man and forgets everything.

Stumbled upon this gem by accident. Checking out the reviews of friends, I jumped into reading it crossing my fingers that it would break the recent reading slump I've been in.
First in a new series that features socialites leading a double life. That double life being vigilante justice for criminals who have escaped their crimes using their financial, political, or social clout status. You know the types, people who pay off and/or grease the palm to hide a murder, sexual assault, etc. This first installment sets the world building stage and history leading up to current time line while featuring the erotic romance between Sophia & Vicktor. It's a romantic suspense format story that pits a strong female lead against an Alpha antihero male.
Sophia & Vicktor. The chemistry between these two is HAWT in a similar fashion as shaking a champagne bottle until the cork blows off on it's own from the built up pressure. Such is the quality of sexual chemistry between the two. With the touch of D/s scenes, these two were made for each other. Honorable mention to bodyguards Jen & Ivan as the sexual tension between the two was quite annoying as I was 50/50 on which couple I wanted to seal the deal more. I foresee and hope Jen & Ivan's are featured in their own 1.5 solo story or one in the future..... they've earned it.
Secondary characters. Jen & Ivan as I've mentioned above win supporting role awards in the story. To round out the cast of characters, Riot, Titian, Irina, Beckett, Forde, James, and Mischa are pretty much the core cast who will more than likely be featured in future installments to the series. On a personal note, I know write off characters are common in stories but I am taking up a petition to have Cruz return and have a more substantial impact in the series ........
Want to include that this is a romantic suspense driven story that includes mystery-suspense-intrigue-aristocracy. Readers are provided with the bad guy/evil elements early on so there is no "who done it" to determine. There is a mystery element though that the author teases at but really doesn't expound on until the later portions of the story. Under certain circumstances, this sort of plot driven story works, other times, not. For me it worked which is why I mention it so as any potential readers can sit back and enjoy the journey without expending brain matter looking for stealth and over thinking things - which I landed up doing and wish I hadn't.
An enjoyable contemporary antihero erotic romantic suspense story that brings an equal amount of meaningful story line complimented by delicious toe curling erotic romance scenes. I appreciate the inclusion of a strong female lead who knows how to play the game (game of thrones pun) as she takes on the fight to right injustice in a meaningful way. Not a female who rolls over and submits to a male authority in a position of power in a stereotypical fashion.

Readers are provided with the bad guy/evil elements early on so there is no "who done it" to determine. There is a mystery element though that the author teases at but really doesn't expound on until the later portions of the story. Under certain circumstances, this sort of plot driven story works, other times, not. For me it worked which is why I mention it so as any potential readers can sit back and enjoy the journey without expending brain matter looking for stealth and over thinking things - which I landed up doing and wish I hadn't.
An enjoyable contemporary antihero erotic romantic suspense story that brings an equal amount of meaningful story line complimented by delicious toe curling erotic romance scenes. I appreciate the inclusion of a strong female lead who knows how to play the game (game of thrones pun) as she takes on the fight to right injustice in a meaningful way. Not a female who rolls over and submits to a male authority in a position of power in a stereotypical fashion.
Can't wait for the next installment Mercenary Heiress, due out August, 2019 which will feature Titian & Irina.

I absolutely loved Mercenary Princess so so much!! It was a sleeper hit that came out of nowhere honestly as I didn't know what to expect. But Lord was it sexy, adrenaline pumping, swoony and filled with all the alpha-growly moments we love. Viktor and Sophia were absolutely amazing and I seriously never wanted it to end.
There is nothing more I love than a sassy lady who delivers all the badassery and brings her alpha man to his knees. The fact that there is a team of Mercenary socialites in this book who make it their mission to right the wrongs done by the upper echelons of society just blew me away. I absolutely loved this story! Sophia was so darn amazing and had all of the traits that I love in a heroine. She was strong, sassy, fearless and daring. Viktor likewise was sexy, dark, dangerous and so appealing. His raw edginess was just so delicious and the perfect counterpart to Sophia's "perfect princess" facade. The fireworks between them was combustible and I could not stop reading. I loved this story from beginning to end!!

Princess Sophia and a couple of her friends witnessed a boy murdered when they were in boarding school. They knew who done it but realizing the very wealthy will pay anything to anybody to get away with anything. So they decide to take it into their own hands. Searching the schools office they found a ledger with all the things that had happened but was paid to stay quiet. So this began their journey of finding evidence against these people in the ledger and getting justice for what they had done. Sophia’s family has a tight reign on her and it is starting to get to her. The double life and her family telling her how to live she is needing to de stress. When her long time crush finally notices her does she give in or stay away since he is known for a corrupt family and having secrets and someone her family would never let her be with. Viktor is a hot billionaire who is known for getting what he wants and he has his eyes on the mysterious Princess Sophia. I loved this royal romance and how protective Viktor is. Sophia has been lusting over Viktor for years and years. Finally she gives in and boy are they HOT! But I think all tattooed Russian heroes are hot. Their drama does not disappoint. I did feel the way Sophia and her friend's organization was created and run and little weird.
They both have lots of peeps to get HEAs in future books. Their body guards really need one.

Things are going as planned, until Viktor, the man she's been obsessed for years decides to reciprocate her interest, and he wants her as well as all her secrets..
Soon Sophia has to balance her days maintaining an ice like exterior, giving her passionate nights to Viktor, and trapping a sociopathic politician. But with danger on their heels, and Viktor demanding own her soul, will Sophia be able to ultimately find happiness?
Kickass heroine, dominating hero, hot sex, fast paced action and lots of family & political drama fill this story. I liked the chemistry between our lead pair, and ABSOLUTELY loved their respect for each other's bodies (the conversation they had about protection was cheer worthy). I also enjoyed his surrender at the end.

OK, so if the ending had been "better" or rather more definitive or at least what I prefer then it could have easily been a 5 Star read or almost perfect!
I truly loved the story, the writing was fantastic and full of suspense. There was alot going on so for me, yes, I enjoyed and understand it sets up the backstory and it was good BUT I like my couple time more...... I had selfishly wished for MUCH more couple time than I got with Viktor and Sophia, hence part of my star deduction reasoning.
I loved this couple, both were spot on and together they were EXPLOSIVE and hot and oh my, so very sexy together!!!

I liked this story bec the whole premise was unlike anything I’ve read before. It was an enjoyable and entertaining read with a great cast of characters, both main and secondary.

Mercenary Princess by Setta Jay is book 1 in the Mercenary Socialites series. This book delivers with its action-packed story line and steamy romance. With a strong and capable FMC, Sophia is a literal princess and mercenary. Coupled with the intense MMC, Viktor, you will be taken on a high-stakes journey of murder, corruption, and steamy tension. Well written and attention-grabbing, I look forward to reading what comes next.
The audiobook is delightfully narrated in duet by Angelina Rocca and Troy Duran. You really can’t go wrong with this duo. Angelina has a great grasp of the emotions of the characters she performs, bringing you into each moment. Troy is the perfect voice for Viktor, and I can’t fault his Russian accent. Both narrators did a wonderful job with character differentiation, making the story line flow beautifully.

I loved the Hero. I'm all for dark Russian alpha males. He had only eyes for the Heroine and there wasn't any OW drama at all. He was intense, loyal and protective. Would have loved to read more about him. He and the Heroine were perfect for each other.
My problem with this book was with the "organisation". It was all telling, not showing. So much information in so little text. I had a hard time grasping the situation, what it is, what they do, who the people in this organisation are and how it all started. After finishing the book I have a vague understanding, but much isn't clear to me. It took some enjoyment from the story. If this would have been explained better and woven better into the story (in an interesting way) and we could've more Hero and Heroine time, then this book could've been easily have been a 4 star read.
