Reading this book was quite enjoyable. I especially like the fact that it tied in characters from Erin Swann's previous books. Our hero, Liam, and heroine, Amy, were independent, direct, honest, no nonsense type people. The storyline for the heroine was that her company, Tiffany's Chocolates, needed an investor so they could expand. It was very possible, if that did not happen, it would make their future difficult in more ways than one. They had only two investors to try to convince. The Quigley-Fulton company (which was Liam's company) or Winterbourne group. Liam had a subsidiary that was doing poorly and the solution was to buy another company to shore it up. He had narrowed the field down to two companies, Tiffany's Chocolates, Amy's company or Springbok Foods owned by Hubricht Schmulian. Amy had struck out on her first investor which was Quigley Fulton. Liam wanted to buy Amy's company not invest. She in no way would sell. She rejected his offer. Now she had no choice but to double her efforts to convince the Winterbourne Group to invest in them. When Liam realized Amy would never sell even if their company was on the verge of financial hardship, he came up with Plan B. It meant approaching Hubricht Schmulian of Springbok Foods. This was his second and only other choice, . He needed to convince Hue to sell his company to him. Hue was an old-fashioned man who believed in family values. But before anything could happen Liam decided that he would offer Amy another proposal. He would personally invest in her company with a stipulation. He would invest half now, then invest the other half after his project was completed. Amy was skeptical. But felt she owed it to her colleague and co-workers to listen. Liam wanted her to act as his girlfriend for approximately three months. He needed to look stable and settled in order to win the approval of the owner of Springbok Foods to sell to him. Amy reluctantly agreed. The story had me smiling when reading the rest of the book. The book took on a life of its own as Amy and Liam got to know each other after their initial one-night stand. Liam and Amy's adventure in accomplishing their goals and learning to trust each other was not easy. Amy had a problem with trust. Two years ago, she divorced her now ex-husband Matt. He did things that made her not to want to trust herself with another man. Liam too had a problem too. He was previously married and made a promise to his former wife. Liam took promises very seriously. He grew up with the motto of Family Comes First. He was also was hiding a very big secret from Amy. Now this story gets extremely interesting. As Amy and Liam get to know each other, sparks fly. There was a lot of chemistry between them that made it hard for them to stay away from each other. They also had to deal with convincing Hue to buy the concept of them being a couple in order for Liam to buy his company. It was fun and games from this point on and I was not in the least bit dissapointed. This is a very good read and I do recommend it. Liam Quigley lost his wife to cancer. Right after that he went into a downward spiral of drugs and booze. It took his friend Josh to get him the help he needed. Ever since, he will have one night stands, never at his house, never for dinner, never see them again. Nothing has been the same since he met Amy Hudson. After one night of the hottest sex in his life, Liam realizes that he will probably never see her again. When she walks in the next day into his meeting, representing the company he wants to buy from her, Liam feels that this was meant to be. Now he has broken all his rules and he can’t stop thinking about beautiful, sexy as hell Amy.
Tiffany Chocolates is owned by Amy and Samantha, her best friend since college. They need an investor to keep operating. Both of them have been courting several investors with no luck. After last nights sexathon with hotter than hell sexy Liam, Amy has her head up in the clouds as she walks into the conference room with the people from Quigley-Fulton. She is also a partner in Tiffany’s, a rapidly growing organic chocolate company that has been looking unsuccessfully for investors to insure its survival. Liam Quigley is trying to think through a business problem that is also very personal. An equity investor, a bad acquisition by his best friend and business partner Josh, has venture capital partners ready to pull out if Liam can’t make investments that will pull his firm out of the red before the end of the quarter.

With a push from her sister to just get it over with, Amy ventures to the bar, takes up a conversation with the drop dead gorgeous stranger and takes a chance on him. After a memorable night spent together, to their surprise, Liam is the investor who walks into the Tiffany boardroom for the meeting that could make or break each others’ businesses.

Throw in a greedy ex-husband, corporate espionage and help from Liam’s Covington family and you have one darn good read.

The books in this series just keep getting better. While I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review, I’ve enjoyed this series so much I’ve bought my own copy of each book in the series.

Amy has been burned by her marriage that ended in divorce, and her sister is making her get back on the horse, by making her pick up a man in a bar to hook up with. This is when she meets the man whore Liam, and they spend a super hot night together with no expectations come the next morning. Liam is shocked though that Amy gets him to take her to his place where no other woman has gone, and stayed all night, but at least they exchanged no numbers when she left the next morning. Little do they know that the next day, they would have a business meets, as Amy is trying to get Liam's company to invest in her company, so a new journey begins. This was a great story that I totally finished in one sitting, as Erin Swann's talented writing style is very addicting. Not only are the sexy scenes serious hot, and light the sheets on fire. but the overtones of suspense that kept ramping up as the story went on, really got my heart racing. Which meant that there were amazing twists that had the f-bombs dropping like crazy, as each time I though I knew which direction it was going, I was wrong. And there was a great cast of secondaries that added more to this already great story, who added some humorous moments as well. I cannot wait for the next story, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Since her divorce, Amy hasnt had a decent date, let alone sex. Viv, her sister talks her into breaking the ice and having a one night stand. Yet she has no idea who she has her eyes on. Not only is he drop dead gorgeous, rich but she finds out he has her future in his hands.
Liam loves being a bachelor. Couldn't imagine his life any other way. Yet he can't get that damn woman out of his head. After a an all night marathon with, there is nothing getting her out of his mind. No address, no phone number, no way to get in touch with her. Until he finds out he holds her future in his hands and realizes she holds his as well.
Loved, loved, loved this book. Seriously couldn't put it down. Learning to get over the heartache of a relationship that just won't go away and falling for your Prince Charming. This is a quick and easy read, but kind of a heavy...lots of "romance", yummy romance! A definite recommend.

I have loved these series and pretty sad to read the last book, wish there was some more as will miss the Covington’s.

Liam’s pickup line or rather first liner is adorable first time you hear it, but when you realise that he says it to all the ladies than it turns cheesy, but ladies love that flattery and I guess that is what makes his character adorable.

Liam’s counter proposal for Tiffany’s is so out of this world and so unethical but it sounds like a dream come true to me. He is definitely a keeper no matter how frustrating he can be.

Was intrigued by the mystery of the red head that kept on appearing wherever Liam was and the final reveal about her was somewhat of a surprise.
I loved how Nick featured in this book and how he finally manages to deal with Liam’s deception when they were younger.

The finale is brilliant, Liam finally makes the impossible a reality for Amy, you will love it as you will not see it coming or maybe you will!!!!!!!!

Excellent part in the series of Covington.
This part can be read without knowing the previous stories. The story is quite simple, but well written and is addictive because of very good characters.
The romance is extremely torrid from the first chapters, but completely acceptable in this scenario.
Following her divorce from a parasite, Amy is offered by her sister to spend a night with someone just for sex and to think of something else. She is the co-owner of a successful chocolate company.
What she does not know is that the man with whom she spends a hot night (Liam) is none other than the co-owner of the investment firm she contacted.
They do not reach an agreement, but Liam needs a girlfriend to get another contract, so he accepts her conditions if she accepts to be his fake girfriend.
Their story is mingled with espionage within his company, embezzlement and, the return of the characters present in the previous episodes.

This is an amazingly well written and exciting, suspensful standalone story. It is sometimes humourous, has lots of tension, loaded with passion, crazy hot steamy chemistry, and toped with amazing twists that you think you know the outcome and t h.g en you have to think again. It is told in dual POV'S with wonderful characters and great cast of secondaries. Amy after a nasty divorce and having to pay alimony was talked into going out for a good time and have a hookup. Liam a man whore with his own painful past and a deceased wife, is mesmerized by Amy and brings her back to his place and lets her stay all night, which is out of character. Without exchanging numbers they part. Imagine their surprise when Liam is the investor who shows up and could be the one to make or break her company. Then with someone sabatonging their business plan, corporate espionage, a greedy ex and you have an edge of your seat great story with a HEA.

Amy just wants a one-night stand. No names, no numbers, just amazing sex. So when she manages get exactly that, she never expects to see her mystery man again. Feeling satisfied, she heads to an important meeting with potential investors that might salavage her company. Then HE shows up at her investor meeting and she finds out the investors, including Liam, want to buy her out. Yikes! Maybe she should have gotten his last name!
After the death of his wife, Liam was headed in a downwards spiral. After picking himself off the ground with the help of a friend, Liam sticks to one-night stands. No attachments, and never ever bring them home. The rules have stuck and he's never been tempted to break them. Until Amy. So he comes up with a deal, be his fake girlfriend and he'll invest in her company.

Truly a sweet and easy read.

Absolutely loved this story. Amy and Liam were fun to follow their trials and tribulations and see how they were or if they were going to resolve the obstacles thrown at them. And talk about some twists and turns!!! I was completely caught off guard in one case which made it fun.
Erin Swan gave her readers a gem in the fifth book in the Covington Series. I didn't read the first four but didn't feel I missed anything at all, although I will probably go back and read the series from book one.
The characters were well developed in this storyline and I especially liked that Amy's company was created and run by majority of women. Booyah!
I highly recommend this book for your reading pleasure and enjoyment.

Liam and Amy are a great match in this office romance of sorts. I liked this author’s style of writing along with the good pacing and dialogue.

The dual POVs helped in understanding what was really going on with the main couple.

What starts out as a one night stand to get over her painful divorce, turns into an arrangement that will make or break the success of her business.

Liam is tied to his own painful past and the promises made to his now deceased wife.

Their chemistry and attraction is intense with sexy scenes that heats up the e-reader. The tension mounts as they join forces to figure out who is sabotaging their business plans.

No cheating, likeable main characters, great supporting cast along with a satisfying HEA made this book a winner!

This is book number five in the Covington Billionaire’s series and this is one seriously hot and addictive series that it will have you well hot and bothered. Amy is struggling to get back into the dating scene after a divorce that left her with Alimony payments and her partnership in a organic cholcolate company. She is looking for investors to help her struggling company in walk Liam who is the man she spent a night with. He is looking for a good investment to make his investors happy and not pull out of his company. Throw in a lot of drama, espionage and a jealous ex husband this makes for a brilliant read.

She just wanted a one night stand no strings attached to get over her ex husband. He is the king of the one night stand he never gets attached and he never takes them home but she could make him change his rules. When she leaves without even leaving a number he thinks that will be the end of it but at a business meeting the next day Liam again meets Amy is fate stepping in. At first I couldn't work out how this was a Covington book but that was soon explained Now these two have to solve the mystery of who is trying to destroy their businesses A great fun read with plenty of steamy scenes to keep you entertained

Each of these books in this series get better & better! It's great to watch 2 people who really get to know each other better on a personal deeper level which isn't only physical. It starts off as a pretend relationship but their roller coaster dating pushes them into territory both don't want to enter into. Liam's company is in jeopardy. There is so much going on in this story & Erin Swann does an excellent job in tying up all the loose ends to complete this story with a HEA. This is unbelievably a fantastic story as you'll be fully absorbed into what happens from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book as you won't be disappointed!

Not for me

This is not the kind of afternoon romance I had hoped for. Between the incredibly slow paced writing, and the billionaire business man's go-to line of 'Blow me' in response to every other thing said to him, it was losing my interest fast.
Now, at slightly less than 50%, it is starting downhill, into just another Scooby Doo Mystery. There had been hints it was leaning in that direction. It just moved so slowly, I had hoped, either I was mistaken, or the writer would forget about that part. Sadly, I was not mistaken, and the writer didn't forget.
By the 50% point, I expect to be invested in a story to the point I can't just walk away. Not so, here. In this case, I am perfectly fine, just walking away.

Picked by the Billionaire is a warm, satisfying addition to the Covington Billionaires series. Liam is an absolute standout here—quietly protective, unfailingly considerate, and carrying that understated, old‑school gentleman energy that makes him far more compelling than the louder, flashier billionaires in the genre.

What gives the story its emotional punch is how long it takes the heroine to truly see him. She’s so caught up in her own assumptions and past hurts that she misses the depth, steadiness, and genuine care he offers from the start. Watching her finally recognise his value—and realise he’s been choosing her all along—makes the final chapters land beautifully.

A quick, heartfelt read with a hero who proves that subtle strength can be the most irresistible of all.

I absolutely loved this book. I’d really love to give it more than 5 stars. It was well written, flowed smoothly and logically, involved a plot with twists and turns and kept me enthralled for beginning to end. The characters were terrific and very likeable. I became immersed in Amy and Liam’s love story and could see the movie running in my head, rather than reading a series of words. I was happy to see them develop as a couple and to fight for their happy ever after. This is the 5th book in this series and I loved it so much that I’m simply going to have to read the previous four books. I think I might have just discovered a new favourite author.

Riveting! This story is beautifully written, well-developed, and emotionally deep. The storyline is perfect, the writing is fluid and the plot is very interesting and engaging. This story grabs your attention from the start to finish, and leaves you wanting more. The characters are amazing, strong, complex and well developed; their chemistry is off the charts. The plot is well-developed, consistent, creative, funny, witty, suspenseful, and hot. This is fast pace read that is an emotional rollercoaster, lots of twists and turns, ups and downs, and nonstop heart-stopping drama. Erin Swann has created a dynastic family of billionaires, the Covington family. Liam Quiggley came to Boston to run the East Coast branch of the Covington’s business. He subsequently decides to open his own investment firm, shortly after the death of his wife, who had been his childhood sweetheart, and has vowed to not become involved in any further relationship.
This entry in the series centers around how that vow becomes obsolete, with a large dose of corporate espionage multiple broken, self imposed “rules for life.” It also thoroughly entwined the rest of Liam’s Covington family.
Which Covington will be next? Please don’t tell us that this is the end of the Covington dynasty.

A visit with the Covington family is like a warm reunion. This was no exception. Liam Quigley (Covington Sr.'s stepson) is a CEO in Boston.(Away from the family but never forgotten.) Amy is running her own business with her friend. These two meet in a bar and hit it off and spend 1 glorious night together. The next day, they are both surprised to find that Liam is the man that Amy is set to meet when looking for investors for her fast growing company. This is the beginning of what is a hot , sweet romance with intrigue, heartache and a beautiful HEA.

I love the whole suspense through the whole thing. There was suspense through the relationship but all so Liam company, and Amy company. I love how they were able to concord all the problems like Amy ex husband, not only screwing him over but screwing his attorney over, Liam keeping his promise to his first wife that died about healing people but not leaving Amy, working things out with his sister and brother in law, Liam saving his own company by finding out who the mole was, bring in a new investor, and at the save time taking down Winterbourne and his company. (*Spoilers*)

Liam and Amy are both delightful characters. The plot develops quickly and has enough twists and turns to keep you reading .long into the night. Their love story is sweet and sexy and I couldn't help pulling for them to have their HEA. The only character I did much like was sister Viv. She was very pushy and bossy, especially to be the younger of the two. But then it was her badgering of Amy that started the whole romance spark.

I enjoyed the book very much, finding it to be well-written as well as well edited, which is important to me as a reader. I haven't read the other books in the series but plan to now. I really, really like this author's style.

I have a grievances

First of all Bostonians do not have bad grammar, second of all there are no longer leader in the mafia since white bolger. Boston takes the English language more seriously than most States. I've taken so many English classes from grammar school and throughout High school, yet College classes beat them all hands down. On that note I loved reading about this great families (The Covingtons) soulmate love connections. In spite of the ditch on New England here I enjoyed the books and her spin on their happy endings, though why everyone of them had to have an enemy or something tragic, misunderstandings before the end happen it was enjoyable to read.

I really enjoyed this latest installment to the Covington family. It flows well, is funny, sweet, sexy and full of wonderful moments. My only gripe (and it's minor) is what was the full story of why Melinda went away? It seemed more than it was to me and left me wondering...

I really loved Liam and Amy's story and how in each others lives the family is (I love Uncle Garth) I'm looking forward to the next story, as always!

Amy decides to have a one night stand to get over her ex husband. Liam was the perfect choice, attractive, polite and intelligent. It was supposed to be one and done and never see each other again. He had his own rules, never stay the night, never let her come to him but this night changed everything. It was perfect.

The next day, not so much when he turns up at her business meeting. They are both shocked but the business acquisition doesn’t go to plan and so he offers her an alternative offer. Be his fake girlfriend what could go wrong?

Warning...this one caused a sleepless night!

I absolutely loved Liam and Amy's story. I struggled to put this one down and it had me reading until 5pm. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it left me with a few questions such as why did the mole do what they did? And the mole was a little predictable for my liking. However, it took nothing away from the story. I loved the batter between Nick and Liam, it had me giggling and as always Uncle Garth won the day! Fantastic story with some hot scenes and a lot of gooey romantic moments to sink your teeth into 💞

A hot romance with twists and turns!!
Another wonderful addition to this series. Amy and Liam had both been severely hurt by a previous relationship and were opposed to becoming involved with anyone. However, fate has a strange way of interfering and turning lives upside down. Great characters and story brought to life by the author.
