Emily Tilton, whose books have hit number one on Amazon in six different erotica categories, wishes she could live out her fantasies of submission the way her characters do.

Emily's erotica is a narrative version of her nearly lifelong quest to reconcile her submissive erotic orientation with her ethics. She writes erotic romance, but her books are always frankly and unashamedly about sex, because writing about sex helps her understand that fundamental part of her life better. She hopes maybe it does the same for her readers.

Over the many years since Emily became aware of her sometimes unbearable craving for spanking, ravishment, and all the shameful things that go with it, she has tried to come to terms with that craving in more ways than she can count. The first of the ways was by reading, voraciously, every piece of BDSM erotica she could find.

Eventually, she read "Story of O." As is reflected throughout her work, it changed her life, though the change has been gradual, and continues to this day. The idea that other women might share the lusts she has by turns been ashamed of and defiantly proud of, that a woman like the real Pauline Réage might write so beautifully of those lusts, and work them out so thoroughly and even pitilessly on a character, put Réage's famous pencil in her right hand. Or, to put it in the terms of EXPLORATIONS, which she considers her magnum opus, it put her left hand on the keyboard of her laptop and her right hand in her lap, if you know what she means. Emily started to write spanking stories.

Renee is ready.

Defiant and bratty Renee has been a disciplinary problem since her arrival at Oak Street. She is in for a tougher awakening due to her special personality.

Outraging, intriguing and disappointing...
This left me feeling outraged and at the same time intrigued, also a little disappointed or perhaps confused would be a better word no I see it's both. It feels as if I was given the middle of Renee's story. This is the fifth book in this series but it's only the second one I've read in it. Perhaps if I'd have read the rest of the series it would have made more sense and I'd have a different opinion. As I'm writing this review I'm coming to the conclusion that this is meant to be episodes rather than inclusive parts. I'd would love to be able to get the rest of the story/series, but can't afford it.
I want to say more about this story but I absolutely hate spoilers, so I won't go into details. I wish we could give half stars everywhere, I'd have given this a 3 1/2 stars as I kept going 3 or 4 back and forth.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Wonderful characters, Page-turner, Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Action-packed, Twisted, Steamy.
Bookshelves/tags:
adult, ageplay, alternatively-reality, bisexuality, captivity, cliffhanger, contemporary, demeaning, dom-sub, domestic-discipline, dystopian, futuristic, kidnap, medical, menage, multiple-partners, series, slave, spanking.
I've put this on Several bookshelves as I'm not sure where it belongs yet.
alternatively-reality, contemporary, dystopian, futuristic, kidnap.

Emily Tilton's world is so fascinating, and the way that she handles shame, modesty, and sex is second to none. And it so works with the Oak Street books.

Renee is 19 and has been brought to Oak Street to live with a Mommy and Daddy by Selecta. What Renee doesn't know is that Selecta has plans for her. They've noticed how resistant she is, how much of a brat she is, and they are going to use that, which means that they have to handle her very carefully.

I both admire and feel sorry for Renee. She's very smart and she's incredibly fierce. The problem is that all of that is tangled up with a lot of defensiveness and that makes it hard for her. She wants to be good, but then that ball of stuff inside her just makes it hard for her to do it. It's hard to have all that inside you, makes you feel very anxious inside.

I really enjoy these books and always look forward to the next one in the series.

Emily Tilton has written a number of books with erotic themes which I am slowly reading my way through. She has real talent for writing uinique erotica that I enjoy immensely. In this particular book the brattish Renée is brought to an understanding of her rebellious but sensual nature as preparation for becoming the owned ccourtesan of a billionaire.

As part of this deal, at the end of a year, the girl is offered here freedom, an a million dollars to set her up for life. It's a fantastical offer, or course, but in the spirit of the book Tilton is writing, quite believable.

All the Oak Street books follow a similar pattern, the only difference being the nature of the girl in question. It is a repetiitive pattern , but Tilton brings it off every time.

The interesting this about this book and others in the series is that the girls are trained using a psychological method that is quite scientific in its application. Trainers are trained in its use, and girls are followed electronically to learn how they are responding to the actions of their training. In spite of the fact that there is some bdsm involved, the books are fairly gentle in nature, and Tilton never descends to the level of brute force--only to serious discipline at times. All i all, a good erotic read.

The premise of this book made it seem like it would be an interesting story. However, I found it lacking the human touch. The treatment she received after trying to survive as a homeless person on the street was distasteful. She was just trying to survive. Then she is sent to this treatment center. To be treated like that was appalling. I get that it was a story but this series seems to get more distasteful as it goes on.

She has been on the streets running away from the government until she is finally caught and sent to a special place where naughty girls get punished. She is head strong but she will learn as that is what is needed. See how she will get on

This seems like the first chapter for Renee.
She is auctioned to Steven, but it ends there. There is nothing of her time with him, her training for him at the Institute, or what becomes of her in the end. Left me wanting more...
