Fiona Spade was born a member of the Fury: a pack of wolves gifted with extraordinary strength and magic. After a car crash killed her mother, an accident she blames herself for, Fiona abandoned her pack and planned never to return. Until she found herself up against her greatest enemy: a dragon shifter. The chance encounter brings her head-on with an ancient lupine power brewing deep within her, forcing her to seek help from the family she fled.
Going home means seeing the one man she can't put out of her mind no matter how hard she tries, a man who is strength, sexiness, and charm personified: the wolf who thinks she's his mate.
As Beta of the Fury Pack, Farrow Flynn is fiercely protective over his adoptive family. Born a lone wolf, he never imagined finding someone who makes him want to love and be loved. Until he crosses paths with the Alpha's stepdaughter, Fiona, a she-wolf who is independent and driven, with a temper to match her flaming hair, their connection is immediate and intense. And now that she's back, he'll do whatever it takes to earn what's rightfully his…the heart of his mate.
Gene Lutz delivers again! Wonderful story with a strong female. Not your usual story line where the woman needs a the man to save her! the story is about Fiona and Farrow but the book introduces you to the Fury pack while telling an awesome story. Can't wait for the next book in this series! Thank you Gena for a book that was hard to put sown! If you like werewolf books with a few dragons thrown in, this is the next book you need to read!
What a an exciting start to a new series by Gena Lutz. Not your usual paranormal romance - has a twist on the heroine who is one heck of a strong and amazing woman. The storyline is so exciting that you can't stop reading until you finish! There are werewolves, dragons, with plenty of action, suspense, sweet romance. There is also an unexpected surprise at the end. I loved it and highly recommend this book. So looking forward to the next one.
The story was interesting and well written for the most part, but felt only half-told. A major miss for me was the constant references to her new power, the "Dark Urge," and the author never fully explained what it was or gave us any real back story. In fact, the whole thing read like a "filler novella" to an an already existing series, that doesn't exist. I felt like I was thrust into the middle of a story with no beginning or end. It doesn't inspire me to read more by this author.
I enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed other books by this author. I think I would have enjoyed this book even more if I hadn't just had another book that also a shifter book but I had a lot more investment to the characters.
She discovers she has the rare dragon sensing/killing ability. There's a twist / review almost at the end. it puts a pause on there moving forward in the relationship. You can end with this book but it feels like it was a small cliffy leading into the next, which hasn't come out as far as I know. I highly recommend another touch of frost by this author.
Gena is amazing! I love, love this book and look forward to the next book in the series. This story is quirky, engaging, sprinkled with fun and a tad bit of tension which to me is a recipe for an amazing adventure. Thank you Gena for taking me on a imaginary adventure that I am still thinking about...
Exciting fight scenes that aren't too drawn out keep things exciting. Fiona is our brave, yet young not experienced main character. This is a good first book in this magically paranormal world.
This book was a great introduction to the new series. It brought a bit of a twist to the normal paranormal wolf shifter books. The twist at the end was unexpected and I can’t wait to see how it plays out.
