“With all the class and elegance to expect from denizens of the City of Lights . . . Designer Eva Jorgensen rounds up a stellar crew of creatives to answer questions about visiting Paris.” — BookPage (Starred Review)
Beautiful book and wonderfully engaging! I lived vicariously through the individualized people, places, and follows laid out its pages. One day I hope to utilize its plethora of knowledge to real world experiences in the streets of Paris, but until then I was wholly enthralled by the pages turned while I read in the coolness of my own backyard.
This is not normally a book I would pick up but was recommended to me. I found it fascinating and interesting how she laid it out. There are sections in the book. The arts design style, interiors and exteriors, creative food and drink. But what I really liked was the guide in the back to all the arrondissements. Definitely makes me want to go explore Paris!
A guide that would have been a game changer for my first trip to Paris. I loved ‘meeting’ local designers, artists, cooks, families, and other creatives. The layout, design, and content were wonderful! Stowing this away for my next Parisian trip.
A modern Paris Guide book of the century! Love how Eva combined key categories within this book. From arts & culture to Paris guide in all arrondissements. A very insight details yet not boring travel guide book must read!
Better than the usual guidebook. The author thought about design principles and then created tours around them. Also, she recommends unique shops and restaurants. She interviewed Paris up and comers and got their opinions on where to go and what to do. Very readable and enjoyable.
I picked this book up thinking that it would show me some of the wonderful architecture of Paris, and I quickly discovered that was incorrect. It's not a bad book, but hipster designs were not the reason I picked up this book.
This is just the type of guide to Paris any aesthete needs — with accounts to follow, museums and galleries, design stores, and other recommendations by creatives who life in the city. Loved that plant-based cuisine was also included — a must for me!
Beautiful, nearly coffee-table like book featuring creative Parisians. Much like New York, there is a real provincial sense of pride and history in their city. Good for the armchair traveler.
