I’ve spent the last several years building my company, having zero time for a social life. I preferred it that way. After the mess my ex-wife left me with, I have no interest in anything remotely close to a relationship.

Until I meet my daughter’s new next-door neighbor.

Harley is kind, beautiful, and she’s also an erotic romance writer. To any man, she’s the perfect package. To a gun-shy man like me, she’s a one-way road to disaster.

Unfortunately for me, my daughter’s newfound friendship with Harley means I get to see more of her.

And the more I see her, the more I want her.

But my instincts are telling me there’s a danger lurking around her, following her, waiting for the right moment to strike. And the closer I get, the more I realize there’s only one way I’ll allow any threat to get near her…

and that’s over my dead body.

I know it was free, but heaven help me I expected more.

This is book three of a series, and does it ever show. This is emphatically *not* a standalone. New characters were introduced every other page with zero context and the reader was simply expected to know who they were and how they fit with the rest of the characters. For the most part, I never figured out their relevance.

The H and h, Jack and Harley, were one-dimensional, their actions and reactions overly simplistic, and I never bought into the attraction between them. The sex scenes were as hot as a popsicle.

In fact, the only character who saw any action was the pet rabbit, Fifty (named for the kinky book series), and he got a *ton* of screen time. More attention - DETAILED ATTENTION - was paid to cleaning his cage and litter box than to any relationship development between the two mains. If you’re looking for bunny porn, this is your book. Everyone snuggled the bunny (and no, that’s not a euphemism).

The pacing, too, was all over the place, with some scenes rushed so badly that multiple time frames were presented in a single paragraph, and others dragging out as we get a multi page detailed description of the h showering and shaving her pits. Thank goodness for that useful bit of character development. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what scent of body lotion she was going to use!

So, it was free, which means I got what I paid for.

The synopsis of this book sounded very intriguing - although I don't know how old Delilah is (I'm guessing young, since Jack is only 43), so I immediately signed up for an ARC of this book. I was not disappointed.

Harley moves to a new town, next door to Delilah and Reece and their two young children, Charlotte and Jackson. Delilah's father, Jack, spends a lot of time at Del's house, with his grandchildren, and is immediately attracted to Harley - but he was so burned by his ex-wife that he has sworn off relationships, despite being a young, vibrant guy.

The book does some annoying time jumping, and the numbers don't add up, but that's something that bugs me and isn't really relevant to the story. I've been told I'm age obsessed - maybe I am:)

Anyway - Harley. Harley has some major abandonment issues. Her mother died when she was young, her dad dropped her and her brother with relatives and she has no relationship with her brother.  She desperately wants to be loved and have a family of her own.

Jack, despite the few times I wanted to throat punch him for being a total toolbag, was such a great guy. He was such a great dad and an even more amazing grandpa. Once he got his head out of his ass, I loved him.

There was a little drama with Harley, due to her erotic romance writing career that was a little far fetched, but added to the story.

I didn't read the first two books in the series, but I didn't feel lost. I want to read them now:)

Overall, this was a great read and I would recommend it.

Evan Grace is back with another installment in this brilliant series y'all and I just can't get enough of it. Sexy. Sweet. Suspenseful. Intense. Satisfying. Captivating. Lead Security was everything I knew it would be and then some.

Unforgettable moments. Engaging storylines. Addicting characters. These two and their journey are the best Evan has ever written to date.

He wants her but he's too old, damaged and jagged. She wants him but the hot and cold routine he has going on, he is giving her whiplash. He needs to leave her alone and let her find someone else... but like the saying goes the heart wants what the heart wants and in this case, it wants each other. It'll be a complicated journey but they were so very worth it.

Jack and Harley lit up my kindle from the moment they stepped onto the page. I just knew these two were going to be everything after that introduction in the last book. And plus...who doesn't like a older established man with a younger, sweet, fierce, independent, sassy woman. Add in
.. Undeniable chemistry. Explosive passion. A magnetic attraction neither can deny.... They totally stole my heart.

I've read other stuff by Evan Grace and loved it but this series and group of friends and family have become my absolute favorite.

I highly recommend this book and fantastic series!

Jack regretted the day he met his ex and the only good thing to come out of their marriage was his daughter Delilah. Now that she is married and has children of her own, Jack is thrilled to be able to spend time with them. What he doesn't need in his life is another woman and Delilah's new neighbor Harley is a temptation he doesn't want. The problem is she is as sweet as she is beautiful and Jack has himself questioning his resolve to never get involved again.

There is so much more to the story but I don't want to spoil it for other readers. This is just the type of book I was looking for. Outstanding, loved this couple together and need to go back and read the rest in the series. Excellent.

Man oh man am I am in love with this book!!! I was a huge fan of Evan Grace's Starting Over series and the Heartbreaker series and honestly I have no idea how I missed this new series until now. So I am totally reading these out of order since this is the first one of the series that I have read, but let me tell you before I even got a quarter of the way into this book, I stopped and went and bought the other two so I could read immediately after this one. I was hooked from page one and am very intrigued by Jack. I can't wait to go back and read book one where he is introduced. I loved Harley and Jack together. They just worked so well and I loved the dynamic of the secondary characters as well. Especially, Jack's daughter, Delilah and her husband, Reece. They had me cracking up. I think even though it is book three and I had not read the others that it didn't take away from this one but I do really wish I had read the others. I can not wait to dive into the first two and really can't wait to see what is next in this awesome new series by this great author!

Love this series and this book!
Jack is the owner of Rogue Security and Investigations and swore of love and relationships after his crazy ex-wife.
Harley is a erotic romance author and the new neighbor of Jack’s daughter, Delilah.
At first Jack’s an @** hole with Harley, but he’s also very attracted to her.
Harley didn’t have a easy life growing up and she feels like everyone will leave her eventually.
Love it and love that Harley is a author. That had me smiling.
Can’t wait to read more of this series!!

OMG this book was absolutely amazing! I have been on a MC read kick because I love my rough and tough kick a$$ boys but when I read this story I was hooked right from the first page when Harley is introduced to Jack who stares at her with hatred in his eyes and she has no clue why. The heat between Jack and Harley is undeniable but Jack thinks he is to old and damaged for Harley but as they spend time together they get closer to each other and let the walls down.

This is where the story takes off and so much happens that your rooting for them the whole way through. I mean Harley has had her issues with relationships but nothing like my man Jack. But as Jack gives into his feelings he soon learns that things can be different and he may be able to have just what he wants and it won't kill him.

I loved the side characters Reece and Delilah so much I need a book about them! I can't wait to read what is next because this book was that GOOD!

Wow what a great story! I devoured books 1, 2 & 3 in only a few days, even finishing book 3 in one night. This is Jack and Harley’s story and I just loved it! It was an older-ish man (43 yrs old) and a not so young women (30ish) they both fought their attraction before finals giving into their desires, and man was it hot!

Hello Jack, you sexy silver fox! I'm not going to lie, he kinda made me mad when he kept toying around with Harley. I understand that he was reluctant to get into a new relationship (with a younger woman), but Harley was a strong confident leading lady and I loved that she was a romance writer. She knew what she wanted and didn't give in to Jack's constant hot and cold personality. You go girl!

This is the third book in the series, Rogue Security & Investigation Series", and this time it's Jack's turn to get his happy ending. Jack is Delilah's father, who is the heroine of the first book of this series, so Jack is much older than our heroine, Harley but she is mature for her young age; she's Delilah's age but her soul is a old soul.

This is definitely a older man, younger woman romance and it was seriously a hot one too ;)

Of course, there are obstacles to overcome. Jack's insecurities are one of them. His daughter's mother really messed him up emotionally. She really was a horrible mother and an even worse human being; she kidnapped her own daughter in order to sell her grand-baby; a truly disgusting person but she got what she definitely deserved but thanks to all of that messed up situation plus the previous years, Jack's mind-set up was like what I like to call it, "a f*cked up mess". He thought that Harley deserved more and that he could never, truly have a serious relationship with anyone so when they do eventually start "hooking up" and as they both develop feelings for each other, some things are said and Jack really screwed the pooch...

A lot of things will happen in this story that will keep you intrigued and keep you reading this story 'till the end and I can guarantee you that you won't regret doing so because the ending was completely awesome!

Guys, if you want to start from the beginning of this series so you can understand better everything that I'm saying plus enjoying great books, then here are the names of books 1-3 of the series, "ROGUE SECURITY & INVESTIGATION":
The first book is "SECURITY BREACH", which is Delilah and Reece's story.
The second book is "FALSE SECURITY", which is Erik and Shayla's story.
And now, the third book is "LEAD SECURITY", which as you guys already know, it's Jack (the sexy silver fox, at least to me) and Harley's story.

Let's start off by saying this is a first time author for us and I really loved my first read from them.

I will say that I am loving the characters in this story and the entire series.I loved the plot itself where it was about two people who were burned and abused emotionally from their previous partners still trying to find their way to their own happily ever after and I loved the fact that Harley was a romance author and had a pet who was a lion lop ear bunny named Fifty. Omg! loved how everyone interacted with him and loved how Jack who supposedly wasn't a fan of him constantly gave him snuggles when know one was looking lol. If I was not already in love with Jack's character from previous books I would be after the way he took care of Fifty when Harley couldn't.

This to me is one of those feel good books all about second chance happiness for two loss souls with a little bit of drama thrown into the mix.

I no doubt loved the main characters but, all the secondary characters played a big roll in making this story a great one.I loved Charlie she melted my heart the entire time throughout the story.(Charlie is Jack's grand-daughter and daughter to Delilah and Reese-Jack's daughter and son inlaw)

Favorite character is going to be Harley and that is because she was just a sweet heart.I found her to be sweet kind,love-able, one that loves with her whole heart once given, intelligent, independent.Overall a big softy at heart.

I loved the romance between Jack and Hayley as it was a love hate relationship in the beginning and that primarily rests on Jack's shoulders because he is still living in the past and needs to get over himself and stop blaming the women he desires now for someone else's past sins. The romance between the two was sweet and intense. This journey that took Jack and Harley to finding their own slice of happiness wasn't and easy one but, when you are about to lose it all in a blink of an eye it puts things in perspective for a guy wallowing in self pity.

I loved being on Harley's journey and getting too know her and all the ups and downs it brought us.I was glued to the pages from the onset of the story and finished it in one sitting.I loved it so much I started on reading Security Breach the minute it was over.

For me this is a story that goes into my list of books that can be read over and over again and never tire of as I loved all the characters in the story that created a really cute romance read for us to love.

Recommend read to all! 5 stars

Oh, Jack! I thought I loved him as a protective dad and boss in the first two books of the series, but I wanted to slap him upside the head at least three times in this one (but I still loved him). He’s once VERY burned, twice SUPER shy, and finds himself seriously attracted to his daughter’s new neighbor. Just like a man, though, he lets his confusion shine through via the hot and cold treatment, leaving Harley confused and embarrassed more often than not. He finally gets his head and heart to agree (the heart wins) and makes it his mission to make Harley his woman.

Harley, on the other hand, broke my heart. She’s been abandoned and tossed aside so many times in her life that she’s resigned to being alone. Harley lets the hot, sometimes grumpy man into her heart, only to be crushed by him when he runs scared. She retreats back to her solitary life, only to be dragged back into the family that Jack has created when trouble comes her way with a vengeance. Harley remains strong and loving to everyone in her newfound circle of people, even though she’s not sure how to truly belong. She and her bunny, Fifty, find a way to make room for a much richer life with loved ones to keep her safe and secure.

The journey to Jack and Harley’s HEA made my heart hurt, made me laugh, made me want to cry, and made me rejoice when it all came together in the end. I’d recommend reading the first two books in the series before this one, if only to get more of Reece, Delilah, and the family of Rogue Security, but this can be read as a stand-alone. Regardless of how you choose to read the series, Jack and Harley are a can’t-miss couple full of love and extreme chemistry!

Title: Lead Security (Rogue Security and Investigation, #3)
Author: Evan Grace
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5/5

📚🤓 The Book Whisperer 🤓📚

Arc received in return for an honest review.

Evan Grace has done another amazing job with this the third book in the Rogue Security and Investigation series. In Lead Security it’s the bosses turn at finding love and when he meets his daughters new neighbour Harley he’s very attracted towards her but thanks to a crazy ex-wife he fights the attraction, they both do, she’s just as attracted to him but she is also wary, growing up wasn’t the easiest of times for her and she feels that everyone will eventually leave her. Jack’s a bit of an alpha-hole towards Harley at first his hot and cold routine has a whiplash type impact on her however the passion and chemistry between them cannot be denied, this is their journey towards love and what a journey it is.

Just like the previous books in the series this was captivating, sweet and sexy with a good dash of suspense to keep us on our toes.

I can’t recommend this book/series enough, it’s about more than work colleagues, friends and lovers it’s about family and that’s what Lead Security and Investigation are, they’re a family and I look forward to what’s in-store next for them.

This was an unexpectedly nice read. I say unexpectedly because I often cringe at books with older characters (I know single dads are a very popular romance trope, it just isn't one I often love). There was no need for to worry. Harley and Jack are pure perfection!

Harley is attracted to Jack the moment she sees him. But he is rude and unwelcoming towards her from day one and things don't get any better.

Jack feels he is told old to start over and is very damaged from his past. His ex wife did a number on him and he is not interested on having a serious relationship ever again. He really should leave Harley alone regardless of how she makes him feel. That works for a time (unsurprisingly long time actually) but eventually their feelings get too strong to ignore.

I found their story to be one of second chances. Poor Harley feels burnt from the past, everyone she loves leaves. And poor Jack is scared of going down the same road that hurt him so bad again. When these two finally give in sparks fly and a beautiful romance story unfolds.

So if this sounds interesting to you go read!

I for one read this series completely out of order. As in 3-1-2 🤣

They are fabulous stand alones so that was never a problem. Go GO GO

I was intrigued by Jack when he was introduced in the first book. You get a glimpse of a man who is fierce, strong and brave. But you get a softer side to him that begs to be hidden most times. In this book, we get to see the real Jack. The man who has seen a lot in war, whether it be in his personal life or his military career. Through all of it, he does his very best he can for his daughter. Because of what he's been through he is very guarded and protective.

Harley is a sweetheart who is happy with her life for the most part. She's a writer who is in the midst of transition. Her life changed when her fan base became larger and she was finally able to put down roots She too has had to deal with various amounts of negativity in her life. She is resigned to the fact that everyone leaves at some point. She's protective over her own heart and those she cares about.

Together they become quite the force. When danger lurks around Harley, Jack jumps in to save her so to speak. What he gets is an independent force that is Harley! Their love affair is up and down, sweet, sassy, sexy, sad at moments and incredibly relatable. I so loved them together and their history. The bits of twists had me guessing a few times and really made the hangover from a book reading binder! I can't wait for the next one!

High fives for Evan as always and Wow what hot and steamy scenes.
Lead Security is part of a group of books so before you start this book please read in order, as it could spoil your reading.
Harley is a writer of romance novels and has no family, till she becomes friends with Delilah and Reece , and there family which includes her Father Jackson ( Jack ) .
As you can guess romance starts for the couple, till Jack makes a mistake and it comes back to bite him in the butt, but Harley is finding out she has a few secrets her self which will find there way out they always do.
Although at times you want to smack Jack in the face for being so stupid, and high five Harley for being so strong and independent.
Evan is always leaving you wanting more and , you can never put the book down once you start it, so clear your day and enjoy. Am so glad I recevied this as an arc from the author for my honest opinion and I loved it as always , I hope you all really enjoy this too

A must 5++ star read! These characters have me so intrigued that I wait not so patiently for each of their stories. Jack, boss man aka alpha boss man was hot! Harley made my heart ache for all the pain she has endured during her life. These 2 were a great match. Jack is such a grizzly bear in the beginning, but by the end he is more of a soft cuddly bear. Harley seems like a naive girl, but she is more strong than I expected. She is a sassy, smart mouthed woman that could bring out her attitude if necessary. She is perfect to keep Jack on his toes. I wasn’t expecting the storyline to take us in the direction it does, but I was completely captivated. I was not ready for their story to come to an end & wanted so much more. I know each book we see prior characters & we will get to see more of their future, but I just wasn’t ready to see it end, even if temporarily. A beautiful love story. I highly recommend this book.

Told in dual POV.

Oh My Jack, Jack, Jack !!! Let me just say this book is a stand-alone but you gain so much by reading the first two in this series before jumping into Jack and Harley’s story ! Jack, is everything I thought he would be and more, at times I wanted to slap him up side the back of his and others I wanted to kiss him . Jack owns his private security business and Harley is a erotic/ romance author who moved in next door to jacks daughter and son in law . Jack had the ex-wife from hell and swore he would never attempt another relationship after that debacle and Harley had been left behind by everyone who should have loved and taken care of her and was jaded by that , these two are attracted to each other from the beginning and embark on a journey you don’t want to miss. Evan Grace has done it again don’t wait one-click now !!!

Harley has been writing stories for as long as she can remember and she writes because those relationships end in a HEA. She writes under the pen name "Eva Steele" with her trusty bunny, Fifty at her side.

Jack runs Rogue Security and had been burned by his ex so he avoided Harley as much as he could, but when she lives next door to his daughter that does become difficult. But, Jack seeks out being an asshole to her to push her away.

But, things have changed...Harley has a stalker, "Martha" and when things turned from bad to worse Jack and his security team are forced to step in.

While this is the 3rd book in the Rogue Security series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. Having said that, it was nice to revisit some past characters.

Jack is the owner of the firm and is a grandfather at a very young age. He is a man who loves his offspring very much and isn't afraid to show it (this makes him very sexy IMO).

Harley is a writer of romance. She has a cute bunny as her pet and is ok living her life exactly as it is. She's been burned in the past and doesn't want to get hurt again.

This story had a very definitive arc through the whole book. It has an ebb and flow that made it easy to read. I liked the characters for the fact that each was independent but they each bugged me with thier "imperfections".

This was a quick and easy read that wraps itself up nicely. I would recommend this book.

Jack really had a number done on him with his ex-wife. Harley was essentially abandoned with no one to really look after or care for her. No matter how much they fight it no one can stop the attraction between them. And when Harley is in danger all bets are off. Love a suspenseful second chance love story and Evan does them so well, especially with this series. I devoured this story in a few hours because I had to know what happened and could not put it down. This is a must read and can be read alone even though I highly recommend the first two books be read first. You will not be disappointed.

All I can say is that I liked the first two books in this series but I love this one, plus I have been waiting for Jack’s story and it’s a doozy. Jack has built Rogue Security from a dream of using what he knows from the service to help people and he is the strong silent type but he doesn’t want a relationship with any woman. Harley is a romance writer who moves in next to his daughter Delilah and they become fast friends but when Jack meets her he is rude and nasty which for a guy in business for himself is dumb. Jack is afraid to get close to Harley because she stirs something in him that he swore he would never do , have a relationship again but someone is stalking Harley and Jack is the man to straighten this out, of course it’s not that easy. This can be read as a standalone but I love seeing how the characters I know are doing, and I am always up for a good sexy dangerous story.

The writing of this was a little different for me as I have read a lot of books similar to it.

However, you seriously cannot help but love Jack. That guy has so much love to give and he knows how to love... his precious daughter who is an only child, his grand babies, his relationship with his parents, his team... he’s just freaking amazing 😍!!

Harley is a sweetheart who loves her romance novels... this was a quick read but shows you when 2 people give themselves a chance to love each other unconditionally, and spread that same love to those whom they’re surrounded with and supposed to love.

First read of this author and I guess that was a good intro into her world xX

Absolutely brilliant. I read the first two books before I received this one to review. It's an amazing series. I kept wondering If jack was going to let love in and I was so happy when he did, he'd had to put up with so much from the 'she devil' but came out the other side and found the perfect match. Harley is fab, I really felt for her and knew she'd be perfect for Jack. I love the way harley was such good friends with jacks daughter and that his grandchildren already loved her. I have to admit my favourite character has to be 'fifty' the bunny lol I want one. This is a book with a bit of everything, I loved it. You could read as a stand-alone but I recommend you read security breach and false security first. You won't be disappointed 👍
