Soon Simpson is fighting for his own life as winter is bearing down on the cabin and the entity in the bedroom wants him dead. In one last fight for survival, Simpson braves the elements to return home. His wife is still alive and only he can save her. Isolation blends the paranormal with immeasurable love between husband and wife. It adds in coming to terms with grief and finding faith when the odds are against you. The ending will leave you emotionally drained and pull at your heartstrings.

Brian L. MacLearn is lifelong resident of Iowa, currently living in Waverly. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in Business. During his life, he has had poetry published and written song lyrics that have been recorded in Nashville. His first novel Our Heart was a 2011 Readers Favorite finalist. His second novel Remember Me was a 2012 Readers Favorite Bronze medalist. His newest novel, "Against the Current," is nearing publicattion and was a silver medalist at Reader's Favorite in 2013.

This starts out as a wonderful love story between Simpson and Vicky but a car accident quickly changes everything. The story is pretty in depth in regard to feelings, emotions, and coming to terms with death and grief.
