The author of 70+ romantic novels, novellas, and short stories, Maddie James pens romance and suspense stories in contemporary and paranormal worlds. Her contemporary worlds often lean toward small towns and western settings, complete with cowboys, Alpha men, and strong, take-charge women.
Her romance writing career launched in 1997 as a traditionally published author with Kensington Books. Currently publishing as an independent author, she writes full time from her Midwest, small town home, where she also gardens, cooks, and chases the dog.
Affaire de Coeur says, “James shows a special talent for traditional romance,” and RT Book Reviews claims, “James deftly combines romance and suspense, so hop on for an exhilarating ride.”
Mira Featherstone and Jacob Remington are two people from totally different social standings. She's a maid at a resort in Texas and takes care of her father, sassy and a little naughty. He's a lawyer and owns a horse farm in Kentucky with a tarnished reputation, originally from her town. From the moment they meet the chemistry is off the charts and there is something more there. Mira isn't supposed to mess around with the guests and Jacob was specifically told by Mira's boss to leave the help alone. Neither one seem to be able to follow the rules and both feel deep inside they aren't worthy of the other. This book takes you one a wild ride full of hot sex, lovable characters and a wonderful happily ever after. A must read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Mira Featherstone and Jacob Remington are miles apart in education, social status, and family money. Mira is a maid at the resort. Jacob checks into Canyon of the Eagles Resort when he returns to his hometown to take care of boundary issues for his family and some others. Mira's mom died just eight months ago and her buffer between her alcoholic and verbally abusive dad is gone. His attitude and words along with those of others contribute to Mira feeling "not good enough." Mira has good friends and I loved the chapter depicting the four young women barhopping. Their "conversation" was so spot on and funny. Glad to have women watching out for each other represented rather than just bitchiness. Jacob has been sowing his wild oats for too long, even ending up in a "who's your daddy" lawsuit. Will they have a future in Texas or will it be in Kentucky where Jacob has his horse breeding farm or nowhere? I enjoyed this book and the relationships. I will be looking for more books to read from Maddie James. I received this book as an ARC and this is an independent review.
Hell Yeah!: Good Enough by Maddie James is a short sassy novella about a women for the wrong side of the tracks and a blue blood lawyer with a tarnished reputation. Neither Mira Featherstone nor Jake Remington think they are good enough for each other. Mira feels she is only a maid whose boss Heath McCoy has warned to stay away from the paying guests or she will be fired. Jake on the other hand is always getting himself in trouble by thinking with lower head instead of his brain also feels that he is not worthy of Mira. How Ms. James manages to bring these two star cross lovers together for a happy-ever-after is a delight to read. Hell Yeah!: Good Enough is a fun book and I hardily recommend reading it.
I received this book from the eBook Elite Squad and I am freely posting this fair and balance review.
I received an ARC of this book and I voluntarily chose to review it. I loved it. Old friends showed up and we meet new friends. I loved this book. This one is well written and I encourage everyone to go get this book. This book is worth your time and effort. If you haven't read any of the Hell Yeah Kindle World your missing some great books. This is just one of them. Go get this book you won't regret it. This is the first Maddie James book I have read but it will not be the last!!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest opinions. I live in Australia and can't buy Kindle World books which is a damn shame. I thoroughly enjoyed this storyline, I was hooked from the beginning to the last page, Maddie made me feel like I was part of the story. There were loveable characters, unexpected discoveries and romance, three reasons to buy this novel. I can honestly say I recommend this book and want to read more of Maddies work.
I received an Exclusive copy of this book for free to review. Hot, sassy, stubborn and oh so forthcoming. One rule, no sleeping with the guests, Mira has an issue with that big time, but it still didn't stop her and now where is heading...into the abyss of hot tempting cowboy sex with forbidden fruit, but where does that land her? YOU REALLY need to read this book. From beginning to end you will be in heaven reading this book.
I stepped a little out of my comfort zone in reading and reviewing Good Enough by Maddie James. This short novella is a quick read when you are not continually interrupted. It has a few more swear words and steamy scenes than I normally read and review. The story line is good and the characters are developed. I really liked how the not good enough was on both sides for different reasons. I received this book from Elite Squad Review and voluntarily read and gave my honest and fair review.
Maybe I'm missing something but I didn't like this book at all. I like steamy books but with a story. This fell short by a mile. Can we say whore and man whore? Because that is what this book is about. I hated it!
Little different. Jake is doing family business in Texas when he meets Mira. Things what up quickly but between a judgemental father and loss of her job things go down fast.
Jacob amd Mira seem to have bad luck following them. But their attraction was the kind if trouble they both craved and needed. I enjoyed this journey it was wild hot and drew you in. Im so looking forward to reading more well written books by Maddie James
